To study the optimal utility problem of insurance companies, based on previous literatures about the investment portfolios of bonds, stocks and optimal reinsurance, the real estate and the stochastic income model received by leasing the real estate were analyzed, and the optimal investment portfolio and optimal reinsurance strategy with real estate were derived. By the dynamic programming principle and establishing the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation, solving the explicit solution of the optimal investment, reinsurance strategy and optimal value function, by the verification theorem, the classical solution of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation was shown to be the optimal value function. The research results quantify the impact of variables such as time, wealth value, interest rates, and stock prices on the optimal strategy and company utility, which has certain economic significance. Fruit locule number is an important agronomic trait that affects fruit appearance, quality, and yield. CLAVATA3 (SlCLV3) is a candidate gene of the fasciated (fas) locus that plays a role in controlling the number of flower organs and fruit locules in tomato. The SlCLV3 encoding signal peptide mainly acts by inhibiting the expression of WUSCHEL (WUS) but there is little research about how the receptor transmits the CLV3 signal to WUS and inhibits its expression. The CRISPR/Cas9 method was employed to edit the first exon of tomato SlCLV3 in this study, leading to the functional deletion of SlCLV3. As a result, flowers with a high number of organs and fruits with a high number of locules were produced. We screened six candidate genes using the transcriptome of clv3 mutants, analyzed expression variations in these genes between the cultivated allele and wild-type allele of fas, and showed that only SlLET6 and SlGIF1 (GRF1-interacting factor 1) were influenced by the fas locus. SlLET6 overexpression resulted in an increase in flower carpels and fruit locules. These results suggest that SlLET6 may be the downstream gene of SlCLV3 regulating the number of carpels and fruit locules in tomato. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Remote stimuli‐responsive movable soft robots without the need for complex 3D deformation processes and specific working environments is an unsolved problem and urgent need. In this work, under the inspiration of mother nature, a novel strategy of simple combination of the bionic bristles structure and the photothermal‐driven reversible shape change liquid crystal polymer (LCP) actuator is proposed to work out this difficulty. The combination structure is designed as unique three parts with two bionic bristle units at the two ends and one LCP unit in the center with a soft connection between them. After matching the driving force and the resistance, the prepared soft robot can realize the earthworm‐like unidirectionally crawl on the paper surface upon near‐infrared light irradiation through the contracting and stretching of LCP with a maximum average speed of 4.4 mm min−1. What's more, the crawling speed of the soft robot can be regulated by varying the irradiation distance of near‐infrared light or the length of the actuators. This paper studies the optimal reinsurance and investment problem of the insurance company. During the optimization phase, the existence of capital deposit requires that the insurer's wealth should be above the given minimum value. The aim is to minimize the distance between the wealth and the given target at the terminal time. We first convert the value function's domain to a rectangle and then derive the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation via the dynamic programming principle. By solving the explicit solutions for the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation, we obtain the expression of the optimal reinsurance and investment policy. Biochar has been widely recommended as an effective soil amendment for reducing nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions and nitrogen (N) leaching. However, the effects of biochar application to Lei bamboo plantations on soil N2O emissions and N leaching remain unclear. These effects on soil N2O emissions and N leaching were investigated in the present study using five treatments applied with the same amount of N: rice husk at 10 t ha−1 (10H) and 30 t ha−1 (30H), biochar at 10 t ha−1 (10B) and 30 t ha−1 (30B), and no additions (control, CK). Both the 10H and 30H treatments significantly increased cumulative N2O emissions compared to the CK treatment, with an increment of 0.78 and 2.20 kg N ha−1, respectively. The 30B treatment significantly reduced cumulative N2O emissions by 0.90 kg N ha−1, whereas the 10B treatment had no significant effect. The reduction in N2O emissions following the high-rate biochar addition was probably due to the increased pH and the total abundance of nosZ I and nosZ II genes. The 30H treatment significantly increased nitrate N (NO3−–N) and dissolved organic N (DON) leaching by 38% and 170% respectively compared to the CK treatment, and had the largest N loss via N2O emissions and N leaching, while the 30B treatment had the lowest N loss. Partial least squares path modeling revealed that soil chemical properties [ammonium nitrogen (NH4+–N), NO3−–N, DON, dissolved organic C (DOC), total N (TN), soil organic C (SOC), and pH] dominantly affected soil N2O emissions, while the total abundance of denitrifying genes (nirS, nirK, nosZ I, and nosZ II) were the key factors involved in reducing NO3−–N leaching. There was a strong positive correlation between cumulative N2O emissions and N leaching loss, which may be related to excessive N surplus in the soil. Our results suggest that the replacement of rice husk by its biochar at a high-rate would reduce the risk of N2O emissions and N leaching loss effectively from Lei bamboo forests in subtropical China. The effects of the addition of EDTA-2Na on sludge disintegration and phosphorus (P) migration during anaerobic fermentation (AF) of waste activated sludge (WAS) are investigated. The efficiency of sludge disintegration was positively correlated with the dose of EDTA-2Na from 0.5–2.0 g/g SS, and an enormous quantity of P was liberated into the aqueous phase, accompanied by sludge disintegration. The proper dose of EDTA-2Na for P release from WAS was 1.5 g/g SS, with an orthophosphate concentration of 394.72 mg/L. P release was more consistent with the pseudo second-order kinetic model. The migration of P species during AF with EDTA-2Na addition was also studied. Orthophosphate was the main species in both of the liquid phase and the loosely bound extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), but organic P (OP) was much more abundant in tightly bound EPS. Inorganic P (IP) was the dominant P speciation in the solid and was mainly distributed in the fraction of non-apatite IP, which accounted for more than 62.8% of IP in the presence of EDTA-2Na. In addition, both IP and OP in the solid contributed to the accumulation of P and the former was outperformed. Furthermore, the increased total dissolved P mainly came from cells. However, the fermented sludge tended to be smaller and to have low compressibility, which is detrimental to its further treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
