56. A Fault Diagnostic Approach for Underwater Thrusters Based on Generative Adversarial Network

Abstract

Underwater vehicles are effective and irreplaceable vehicles for exploring and developing the underwater world, and their level of development has become an important symbol for evaluating a country’s maritime strength and comprehensive national power. Underwater thrusters are the main power components of underwater vehicles. The performance of fault diagnosis for underwater thrusters directly affects the safety and reliability of underwater vehicles. In this article, a fault diagnostic approach for thrusters combining data augmentation by generative adversarial network (GAN) and fault identification by improved temporal convolutional network (ITCN) is proposed. In order to solve the problem that real samples of propeller entanglement and transmission anomaly faults are difficult to be collected completely, a data augmentation theory relying on controllable generation of thruster signals is proposed according to the prior knowledge of these two fault modes. And a GAN for underwater thruster signals (GAN-UTS) is designed as an implementation of the proposed data augmentation theory. Considering the slightly insufficient accuracy of the original TCN in identifying some fault modes, a fault classifier based on ITCN is proposed to further improve the overall accuracy of fault identification. The experiments show that the diagnostic performance is significantly improved by jointly using the GAN-UTS-based data augmentation and ITCN-based fault identification. Compared with the original TCN-based fault classifier without data augmentation, the average F1 score of the proposed approach is raised by about 8.590%, fully proving the effectiveness of the approach.

Abstract

Microalgae cultivation using wastewater is a combined process for pollutant removal and lipid production that has been widely studied in recent years. In this study, the effects of anaerobic membrane effluent (AME) and municipal wastewater (MW) ratios on microalgae growth and pollutant removal processes were investigated, and the lipid production properties were also explored. Results show that microalgae can grow in all AME/WW ratios, and a 40% AME content is the optimal condition for microalgal biomass accumulation (52.9 mg/L·d) and lipid production (0.378 g/L). Higher AME addition would inhibit microalgae growth. In addition, high ammonia (approximately 97%) and phosphate (around 90%) removal efficiencies can be achieved in all AME/WW ratio conditions, while the total nitrogen removal efficiencies decreased with the addition of AME. Total nitrogen and phosphate are the limiting factors in treating water to meet the requirements of the integrated wastewater discharge standard. This study provided a new method for anaerobic digestion and municipal wastewater treatment and also realized green energy production based on the sustainable development principles. However, whether AB23A plays a role in the tumor microenvironment of NSCLC still remains obscure.Methods: After THP-1 cells were polarized to M0 type by PMA, M0 macrophages were differentiated into M1 by LPS and IFNγ, and were differentiated into M2 by IL-4 and IL-13. The differentiation of THP-1 cells was detected by flow cytometry. After AB23A was given to macrophage RT-qPCR and ELISA detected the expressions of IL-6, IL-1β, IL-10 and TGF-β. Western blot and RT-qPCR detected the expressions of CD11b and CD18 at both mRNA and protein levels. Lung cancer cell A549 cells were induced by above related macrophage culture medium. Cell proliferation was detected by CCK-8. Tunel, wound healing and Transwell detected the apoptotic, migration and invasion capabilities. 71. The role of artificial intelligence in improving the efficiency of piano online learning.

Abstract

With the development of online education, piano online learning has become popular for its flexibility and convenience, but it lacks personalized instruction and real-time feedback. To solve this problem, this study uses support vector machine model to analyze the learning behavior data of learners and provides personalized learning path and real-time feedback mechanism, in order to improve the efficiency of piano online learning. The results show that AI-assisted system improves learners’ goal achievement rate and skill mastery rate by about 10% on average and effectively reduces the error rate. This study verifies the effectiveness of AI technology in piano online learning, indicating that it has important application value in improving learning efficiency and enhancing learning experience. Abstract

High-resolution bathymetric side-scan sonar (BSSS) performs the functions of traditional side-scan sonar, while also providing a depth-sounding function that allows simultaneous measurement of seafloor topography and geomorphology. Submarine microtopography and microgeomorphology detection ability and advanced underwater acoustic digital communication are important technical capabilities of the Jiaolong manned submersible. High resolution BSSS achieved accurate detection of seafloor topography and geomorphology at a depth of 7000 m, and successful mapping of local microtopography and microgeomorphology in the Mariana Trench.

Abstract

Most waterborne epoxy resin emulsifiers are inactive, and the free emulsifier will precipitate out during the curing of the coating film, which will seriously affect the water resistance, solvent resistance, and hardness of the coating film. Herein we prepared a new type of nonionic active epoxy emulsifier. First, 1,4‐butanediol diglycidyl ether reacts with polyethylene glycol at a higher temperature to form an epoxy‐terminated modified hydrophilic segment. Then 2,4‐toluene diisocyanate link the hydrophilic segment and the epoxy resin E‐31 (according the reactivity of the hydroxyl group on the epoxy resin E‐31) to obtain an emulsifier for emulsifying epoxy resins. The synthesized emulsifier's cloud point is 89°C and hydrophilic–lipophilic balance is about 13.1. The most suitable condition of the phase inversion is that the emulsification temperature is 60°C and the stirring speed is 1500 r min−1. The coating films obtained from synthesized emulsifier is dense and uniform with excellent mechanical properties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Deep-sea search and recovery mainly refers to the search, recovery, and salvage of objects with high value that are lost on the deep-sea bottom. Deep-sea search and recovery objects include aircraft black boxes, underwater vehicles, and other types of objects. The recovery and salvage of objects involves accurately obtaining their underwater positions. Depending on whether or not the salvage object carries an acoustic beacon, two methods are available: onboard acoustic signal search and near-bottom sweep search and search. Once the underwater position of a salvage object is known, it can be recovered and salvaged with a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) and/or human-occupied vehicle (HOV). However, there are many difficulties with the practical application of existing deep-sea recovery systems that are based on the deep-sea operation of ROVs and HOVs. Based on the design idea and working mode of TV-grab in oceanography, this paper proposes a new type of deep-sea recovery system that does not rely on operating underwater vehicles and presents its recovery process. The new deep-sea recovery system combines underwater optical imaging, mechanical docking/grasping, acoustic imaging and positioning, and propeller operating to provide low-cost and rapid deep-sea recovery. Compared to the deep-sea recovery system with a ROV and/or HOV, the new deep-sea recovery system without an operating underwater vehicle described in this paper is proposed to be used, but not tested yet.

Abstract

This paper presents a whale optimization algorithm (WOA) based on forward looking sonar to achieve two‐dimensional optimal path planning for an autonomous underwater vehicle. The purpose of path planning is not only to effectively avoid threat regions and safely reach the intended target with minimum fuel cost but also to obtain an optimal or near‐optimal path in a complex ocean battlefield environment. The WOA, based on the bubble‐net attacking behavior of humpback whales, mimics encircling the prey, attacks with a bubble‐net method, and search for prey to effectively determine the global optimal solution in the search space. The WOA not only has fast convergence speed and high calculation accuracy but can also effectively balance exploration and exploitation to avoid falling into a local optimum and obtain the global optimal solution. Five sets of experiments are applied to verify the superiority and stability of the WOA. Compared with other algorithms, such as artificial bee colony, bat algorithm, cuckoo search, flower pollination algorithm, moth‐flame optimization algorithm, particle swarm optimization, and water wave optimization, the WOA exhibits better optimization performance and stronger robustness. The experimental results reveal that the WOA can find the shortest path compared with all the other algorithms, and it is an effective and feasible method for solving the path planning problem.
