The article describes receptive aesthetics of the image of China in the poetry of K. Balmont. New in the work is the hypothesis of coexistence in works of the poet of two principles - Logos and Tao. Texts have been found in Chinese, to which poet addresses. The original text have been identified, which became the basis for the creation of a poem by K. Balmont “Chinese sky”. The reasoning and conclusions of the author are based on critical studies comparing two cultures. Analysis of the poetic works of K. Balmont was carried out basing on the semantic aspect using the method of textual parallels. Study of the receptive aesthetics of the image of China in the poetry of K. Balmont allows us to come closer to the world outlook of the culture of the Silver Age from another side.

Diabetes mellitus become the big health problem in the world that increased in high percentages in last decade, the DM medications types are important to maintain the normal levels of glycemic parameters, in present study the association between types of DM medication types with oxidative stress represented by ROS and TAO were conducted. The results show non-significant differences observed in all glycemic parameters in addition to ROS and TAO, the present finding concluded that the DM medication should be Multi-Directional Therapy applied for oxidative stress controlling in DM type 2. The article discusses role of "ming" played in the Tao Te Ching. Topics discussed include problems associated with the name of the Dao in translating the verse into English depending on whether it is regarded as addressing the Dao; philosophically mature, or alternatively alarmingly nihilistic, attitude in late outcome in the sequence of "Daoist ethics"; and information on contradictory nature of the Daodejing.

Fraternity might seem a category absent from the religious tradition of the Tao. In reality this is not the case because Chinese wisdom always recalls the common origin of humanity and the fact that human beings must support each other. Educating today to fraternity, to a sense of welcome, hospitality and justice is possible to the extent that the action of faith takes shape with respect to good intentions. C. G. Jung credits Chinese philosophy with having similarities to his psychology, which the authors explore in this article. The concept of Tao in Chinese philosophy, also simply called the Way, expresses the archetypal process of individuation, hence the project: they compare the approach, the setting, the content, and the outcome of an I Ching reading session and an analytical psychology dream session. The authors' tentative conclusion for their common root is in their methodology that exposes life's patterns. Purpose: This research aims to draw attention to the direct study of nondivine books. The research discusses one of the most important holy books in China and highlights its intellectual and ideological status in the world through analytical insight into some of Book of Tao’s implications and its Arabic translations. This book has been discussed in nonacademic studies by nonspecialist persons, who therefore studied it subjectively. This research identifies the book, evaluates those studies and translates them to the specialized academic arena. Methodology: The research is based on an inductive approach by tracking Arabic translations and explanations of the book; a descriptive approach, which involves reviewing the book; and an analytical and critical approach that examines some of the issues in and studies that have been written about the book. Findings: The research highlights the religious status of the "Book of Tao", the extent of its influence in the international religious field, and the necessity of conducting more studies about it. This research showed that we need further studies on China's culture, religions, and history in many areas, including the issue of prophethood, prophets, and messages in this region. Furthermore, as China is a great civilization competing for dominance in the Islamic world, if we can understand the relevant languages, cultures, history, and religions, we can make religious and civilization outreach more effective in this rising civilization and competition. Originality: The originality of this research comes from many points, such as it is the first academic research to address this holy text directly in Arabic. Moreover, this research reviews, studies, and discusses all of the works in this book in the Arabic language in a nonacademic context.

Thyroid associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) is an organ-specific autoimmune disease occurring in patients with thyroid disease. Patients with TAO-related proptosis is largely due to excessive orbital adipose tissue Adipocyte phospholipase A2 (AdPLA) is one of the most important regulatory factors in adipocyte lipolysis, which may be associated with TAO-related proptosis. Thus, silencing AdPLA by RNA interference may be beneficial for the treatment of TAO. In this study, we sought to evaluate the efficiency of two types of microneedles to deliver siRNAs for silencing AdPLA. Our results showed that AdPLA mRNA was up-regulated in the orbit adipose tissues from TAO patients. Silence of AdPLA by siRNA can reduce lipid accumulation in both human and mouse adipocyte cell lines. Moreover, silence effects of silicon microneedle array patch-based and injectable microneedle device-based siRNA administration were examined at the belly site of the mice, and injectable microneedle device showed higher knockdown efficiency than silicon microneedle array patch. This study sets the stage not only for future treatment of TAO-related proptosis using AdPLA siRNA, but also provides the foundation for targeted siRNA delivery by using microneedles. Background: Thyroid associated orbitopathy (TAO) is the most common extrathyroidal complication of Graves' disease. The disease course ranges from mild, where symptomatic therapy is sufficient, to severe, where high dose steroid administration or orbital decompression surgery is required. Women of their reproductive age are more likely to be affected. Although pregnancy is a state of enhanced immune tolerance, TAO may develop or worsen in 0.2–0.4% of pregnant women. Case presentation: We present the case of a 19-year-old woman who has developed hyperthyroidism and progressive TAO during the second trimester of her third pregnancy, which has improved postpartum. The possible mechanisms and the importance of follow up in pregnancy is discussed. Conclusions: Expectant mothers with Graves' disease require follow up of eye signs throughout pregnancy, preferably in the setting of a thyroid-eye clinic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article focuses on the Taoism, or Daoism is a philosophical tradition of Chinese origin which emphasizes living in harmony with the Tao. Topics include the Tao is a fundamental idea in most Chinese philosophical schools; and Taoism differs from Confucianism by not emphasizing rigid rituals and social order.

Chelonia mydas (green sea turtles, GST) in Lanyu (Orchid Island), Taiwan, affect the behavioral evolution of land-based organisms in Lanyu, and they are also important for the study of evolutionary biology. However, threats to their survival are increasing. To protect GST, conservation organizations have recruited volunteer tourists to assist in the implementation of a GST conservation program. However, the volunteer tourism program for GST conservation did not achieve the expected results, and it even caused serious social conflicts and threatened the survival of GST. In this study, the volunteers and the local Tao people were interviewed to understand the views of both parties, and the interview data were analyzed using Ostrom's common resources management principles. The results showed that wo mechanisms led to the neglect: the appropriate authorities in the Taiwan government did not provide sufficient funds, and the government was unable to integrate and coordinate the conservation activities. The research results suggest that government authorities should provide sufficient funds and communication resources to assist conservation organizations in making use of local ecological conservation mechanisms and that conservation organizations should report the results of volunteer tourism programs to the Tao people and assist in cleaning the beach. Cisplatin and oxaliplatin are widely used anticancer drugs. Their use is restricted by their dose-limiting side effects: nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity, respectively. Cerium oxide nanoparticles (CONPs) are promising antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. To test the possible ameliorative impact of CONPs on the toxic effect of cisplatin and oxaliplatin in male albino rats. Forty eight rats were divided into 6 groups: control group, CONPs group, cisplatin group, cisplatin and CONPs group, oxaliplatin group, and oxaliplatin and CONPs group. After 4 weeks, serum urea and creatinine, renal tissue level of interleukin 10 (IL10), and total antioxidant (TAO) were measured in control, CONPs, and cisplatin groups. The other kidney was used for histopathological and immunohistochemical studies. The right sciatic nerves and the lumbar spinal cord of rats from control, CONPs, and oxaliplatin groups were used for immunohistochemical evaluations of nitrotyrosine, myelin basic protein (MBP), and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP). Cisplatin significantly increased serum urea and creatinine levels, significantly decreased the kidney level of IL10 and TAO with marked tubular necrosis, hemorrhage and renal damage. Also, it decreased IL10 immunohistochemical expression. CONPs significantly decreased the serum urea and creatinine level and increased IL10 and TAO with lower renal damage and strong IL10 expression compared with cisplatin group. Oxaliplatin significantly decreased MBP immunoreactivity and increased nitrotyrosine immunoreactivity. In the lumbar spinal cord, GFAP immunoreactivity was significantly increased. CONPs significantly increased MBP and decreased nitrotyrosine immunoreactivity. GFAP immunoreactivity was significantly decreased. CONPs ameliorated cisplatin and oxaliplatin primary toxicities through anti-inflammatory and antioxidant characteristics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In his series of three lectures delivered at King’s College, Newcastle, part of the University of Durham, in February 1943 and published the following year under the title The Abolition of Man; or, Reflections on Education with Special Reference to the Teaching of English in the Upper Forms of Schools, C.S. Lewis passionately argues for the preservation or reinstatement of “the sole source of all value judgements”, represented, in his opinion, by “traditional values”, that he calls “for convenience the Tao, and which others may call Natural Law or Traditional Morality or the First Principles of Practical Reason or the First Platitudes.” This article looks a little closer at the specific meaning of the Tao selected (and then adapted) by C.S. Lewis from a rather complex and fluid philosophical paradigm informed by two contrasting (Taoist and Confucian, respectively) schools of thought.

Background: Thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) is an autoimmune inflammatory disorder, which lacks effective treatment currently. Spica Prunellae (SP) is popularly used for its anti-inflammatory and immune-regulating properties, indicating SP may have potential therapeutic value in TAO. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the efficiency and potential mechanism of SP in treating TAO. Methods: A network pharmacology integrated molecular docking strategy was used to predict the underlying molecular mechanism of treating TAO. Firstly, the active compounds of SP were obtained from TCMSP database and literature research. Then we collected the putative targets of SP and TAO based on multi-sources databases to generate networks. Network topology analysis, GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis were performed to screen the key targets and mechanism. Furthermore, molecular docking simulation provided an assessment tool for verifying drug and target binding. Results: Our results showed that 8 targets (PTGS2, MAPK3, AKT1, TNF, MAPK1, CASP3, IL6, MMP9) were recognized as key therapeutic targets with excellent binding affinity after network analysis and molecular docking-based virtual screening. The results of enrichment analysis suggested that the underlying mechanism was mainly focused on the biological processes and pathways associated with immune inflammation, proliferation, and apoptosis. Notably, the key pathway was considered as the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway. Conclusion: In summary, the present study elucidates that SP may suppress inflammation and proliferation and promote apoptosis through the PI3K-AKT pathway, which makes SP a potential treatment against TAO. And this study offers new reference points for future experimental research and provides a scientific basis for more widespread clinical application. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Schema Therapy is an integrative psychotherapy combining theory and techniques from previously existing therapies, assuming that the early experiences of deprivation or frustration of the subject's basic needs may lead to developing early maladaptive schemas (EMS) and moment-to-moment emotional states and coping styles to EMS, so-called maladaptive modes. There are four interventions of healing and change: (1) limited parenting, (2) emotion-focused work of imagery and dialogue, (3) cognitive restructuring, and (4) behavioral pattern breaking. With these interventions, the treatment of borderline personality disorder consists of the following processes: (1) resolving rigid copying style of detached protector mode, (2) freeing from punitive parent mode, (3) accepting the vulnerable child mode, and (4) living with adult mode. Although Schema Therapy provides the sophisticated classification of clients and various techniques, the categorical approach using too many terms and concepts may be limiting to treatment. In contrast, Taopsychotherapy is open to the use of any methods or techniques if one masters them and emphasizes more on the personality of the therapist rather than the technique. That is, Taopsychotherapy underscores empathic responses as well as accurate empathic understanding of the patient's subjective experiences. It also emphasizes that these empathic responses of therapists must come from a compassionate mind, which arises when you overcome love and hatred. Therefore, in this lecture, I would like to compare the similarities and differences of the two treatments and reconsider the characteristics of Taopsychotherapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The seals of Fers Tsotzikos as anthypatos Patrikios and Strategos of Cappadocia and TornikVarazvatche as protospatharios and strategos of Claudia (?) were found in Cherson and Tamatarkha. Both persons belonged to the aristocracy of Tao-Klardzheti (Georgia) and were sent to Byzantium after the annexation of Tao in the year 1000, both made their careers in the provincial administration in the first quarter of the 11th c.; Both families Tzotzikies and Tchortvaneli belong to the middle strata of Byzantine society. Tzotzikies is known as the strategoi of Paristrion, Mantzikert and Artakh, John Tzurbanel, Constantin Tzurbanel, Chortvanel Abukharb were the strategoi too. Fers took part in the plot against emperor Basil II and was tortured (1022), Tornik Varazvatche later was the strategos of Edessa. The find of the seals of Fers Tsotzikos and Tornik Varazvatche in the north of the Black sea testify to the contacts of the strategoi of Asia Minor’s themes with the strategos of Cherson and byzantine (?) administration of Tamatarkha.

Ocular myasthenia gravis (Ocular MG, OMG) shares many clinical features with thyroid-associated orbitopathy or thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO). In the rare instance of their coexistence, clinicians may fail to diagnose ocular MG when TAO is also present. Here we report the case of a patient with both TAO and ocular MG, whose “hyperthyroidism”—most likely the hashitoxicosis variant of Hashimoto's thyroiditis—rapidly transformed to hypothyroidism after radioactive iodine therapy. This is reminiscent of a previous case of a patient with MG, in whom disease onset coincided with the methimazole-induced transformation from hyper- to hypothyroidism. It is possible that the same transformation from “hyper-” to hypothyroidism, which occurred after radioactive iodine therapy and was accompanied by hypothyroidism-associated orbitopathy (ophthalmopathy), may have induced the development of myasthenia gravis in our patient. The hypothyroidism may have been caused by the radioactive iodine therapy and/or it may simply reflect the natural course of the hashitoxicosis variant of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The co-occurrence of hypothyroidism, hypothyroidism-associated orbitopathy (ophthalmopathy) and ocular MG has never been reported. Our case highlights the need for clinicians to focus on overlapping symptoms of hyperthyroidism and the hashitoxicosis variant of Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and to carefully differentiate between them, especially when deciding on radioactive iodine therapy. In addition, our case highlights that the possible co-occurrence of TAO should be considered when a patient with thyroid disease displays both ptosis and eye movement dysfunction, and when only the ptosis is dramatically resolved after treatment with pyridostigmine bromide.

Thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) is an organ-specific autoimmune disease that seriously affects patient's life and health. However, the early diagnosis of TAO is highly dependent on the physician's subjective experience. Moreover, the currently proposed deep learning networks for eye diseases do not provide robust interpretability concerning feature learning paradigm, model structure, and the number of neurons. But the mentioned components are very important for model interpretability and are key factors that severely affect the transparency of the model. Therefore, a robust interpretable multi-orientation visual recognition network (IMoVR-Net) for TAO multi-ocular lesion recognition is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a multi-orientation visual cascaded encoder composed of the DenseGabor module and the dilated Gabor convolution group is proposed to achieve the fine extraction of multi-directional TAO lesion features by using a novel feature learning paradigm called alternating filtering. Besides, combining information theory and topology tool, an optimization rule based on topological energy entropy is proposed to provide a solid interpretable theory for determining the model structure. Finally, a clustering correlation analysis method is developed to accomplish the determination of the number of convolutional hidden neurons, providing robust interpretability for the selection of the number of neurons. Compared to other advanced models, the IMoVR-Net achieved state-of-the-art performance on different TAO ocular datasets with an average accuracy, sensitivity, precision, and F1 score of 0.878, 87.27 %, 0.875, and 87.39 %, respectively. Background: Thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO) causes vascular insufficiency due to chronic inflammation and abrupt thrombosis of the medium and small arteries of the extremities. In our study, we aimed to determine biomarkers for the diagnosis of TAO by evaluating 15 male TAO patients with Shinoya diagnostic criteria and 5 healthy controls who did not have TAO-related symptoms in their family histories., Methods: The Clariom D Affymetrix platform was used to conduct microarray analysis on total RNA extracted from whole blood. A total of 477 genes (FC ≤ 5 or >5) common to the fifteen patient and five control samples were selected using comparative microarray analysis; among them, 79 genes were upregulated and 398 genes were downregulated., Results: According to FC ≤ 10 or >10, in the same TAO patient and control group, 13 genes out of 28 were upregulated, whereas 15 genes were downregulated. The 11 key genes identified according to their mean log2FC values were PLP2, RPL27A, CCL4, FMNL1, EGR1, EIF4A1, RPL9, LAMP2, RNF149, EIF4G2, and DGKZ . The genes were ranked according to their relative expression as follows: FMNL1 > RNF149 > RPL27A > EIF4G2 > EIF4A1 > LAMP2 > EGR1 > PLP2 > DGKZ > RPL9 > CCL4. Using protein-protein interaction network analysis, RPL9, RPL27A, and RPL32 were found to be closely related to EIF4G2 and EIF4A1. The Reactome pathway found pathways linked to 28 genes. These pathways included the immune system, cellular responses to stress, cytokine signaling in the immune system, and signaling by ROBO receptors., Conclusions: By figuring out the protein expression levels of the genes that have been found to explain how TAO disease works at the molecular level, it will be possible to figure out how well these chosen transcripts can diagnose and predict the disease., Competing Interests: The authors declare no conflicts of interest.
