Abstract

Scalar Tensor Vector Gravity(STVG) is one of modified gravity theories developed by John Moffat(2005). MOG is abbreviated name for this theory.It can explain a galactic rotation curve and the structure formation without dark matter. It can also explain acceleration universe without dark energy.But,they obtaion only a spherically symmetric, static vacuum solution about MOG. On this theory,the gravitational field produced by two point sources is not simply the sum of their respective spherically symmetric static vacuum solutions. However,in arXiv:0805.4774, the method to adapt MOG to extended distribution of matter is described by phenomenalism. A new parameter "xi" is introduced in this phenomenalical description.This paper shows estimation of MOG's xi parameter. Abstract

Therefore it needs more objective verifications.We will carried out verification from the viewpoint of N-body simulation. Such study is already accomplished by Brandao(2010).However, they did not precisely formulate N-body simulation on MOG. Abstract

The application of graphene in electronic devices requires large scale epitaxial growth. The presence of the substrate, however, usually reduces the charge carrier mobility considerably. We show that it is possible to decouple the partially sp3-hybridized first graphitic layer formed on the Si-terminated face of silicon carbide from the substrate by gold intercalation, leading to a completely sp2-hybridized graphene layer with improved electronic properties., Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures, 1 table

Abstract

We report line-by-line control of a coherent discrete spectrum (Raman sidebands) with a frequency spacing of 10.6 THz that is produced by an adiabatic Raman process. We show that the spectral phase of the Raman sidebands is finely controlled to the target (flat relative-spectral-phase). This is achieved by employing a combination of a spatial phase controller and a spectral interferometer, which are specifically designed for a high-power discrete spectrum. We also show that such spectral-phase control produces a train of Fourier transform limited pulses with an ultrahigh repetition rate of 10.6 THz in the time domain., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures

70. Machine learning-driven approach to quantify the beach susceptibility to storm-induced erosion.

Abstract

This study focuses on quantifying the susceptibility of sandy beaches to storm-induced erosion by analyzing 14 key morphometric indicators. We used a 24-year morphological and metocean dataset, enabling the identification of 347 storms and their beach responses. Four beach profile patterns were identified according to the presence and characteristics of sandbars. Subsequently, four XGBoost models were individually trained for each profile pattern to discern the complex morphodynamics during storm conditions. SHAP analysis was then employed to identify the most influential morphometrics, revealing variations in the morphometrics contributing to beach susceptibility based on the beach profile type. Storm cases were divided into three groups based on storm power to validate the beach erosion susceptibility number (BESN). Evaluation of BESN for each profile pattern and storm group showed that unbarred profiles under average storm conditions exhibited the highest correlation, with a Pearson correlation coefficient (r) of 0.75. There was at least a 0.40 correlation coefficient between observed beach erosion and BESN in eight of the 12 scenarios studied. These findings highlight the effectiveness of BESN in quantifying the susceptibility of different beach profile patterns to erosion. 本稿は市区町村要保護児童対策地域協議会（以下，「要対協」とする）の課題を探ることを目的とし，2017 年から2021 年までの先行研究のレビューを行った．その結果，「要対協調整機関の職員の体制強化と専門性確保」「支援対象の定義の曖昧さ」などの課題が抽出できた．要対協は今後，子ども家庭総合支援拠点，子育て世代包括支援センター，児童相談所と連携する必要があり，連携効果の向上に資するような研究がさらに求められている．

Abstract

Background Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an ongoing global pandemic. Although systemic steroids play an important role in treating patients with severe COVID-19, the role of inhaled corticosteroids in non–critically ill, hospitalized patients with COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods We analyzed findings in non–critically ill, hospitalized patients with COVID-19 who were >18 years old and were admitted to 64 Japanese hospitals between January and September 2020. We performed propensity score matching analysis to evaluate 28-day and in-hospital mortality rates with or without inhaled ciclesonide within 2 days of admission. Sensitivity analyses using inverse probability weighting analysis, and generalized estimating equation method were also performed. Results Eligible patients (n = 3638) were divided into ciclesonide (n = 290) and control (n = 3, 393) groups. The 1-to-4 propensity score matching analysis included 271 ciclesonide users and 1084 nonusers. There were no significant differences between the 2 groups for 28-day (3.3% vs 2.3%; risk difference, 1.0% [95% confidence interval, −1.2 to 3.3]) or in-hospital (4.8% vs 2.6%; risk difference, 2.2 [−.5 to 4.9]) mortality rates. The sensitivity analysis showed similar outcomes. Conclusions From this multicenter observational study in Japan, inhaled ciclesonide did not decrease 28-day or in-hospital mortality rates in non–critically ill, hospitalized patients with COVID-19.
