A three year old male non-descriptive companion dog was presented to the Small Animal Orthopedic Unit of Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital (MVC) with paraplegia of fourth degree neurological deficit of hind limbs due to automobile trauma. Radiographic views were suggestive of dislocation at T8-T9 vertebral segment with fracture of L2 vertebra. Myelography confirmed the signs of abrupt stoppage of the contrast column cranial to dislocated area and was interpretive of transected spinal cord at L2 level. Construct was prepared with bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNC) isolated from bone marrow aspirate of femur and the cells were seeded in Thermoreversible Gelatin Polymer (TGP) at the cell processing facility of Nichi-In Centre for Regenerative Medicine (NCRM) as per GMP protocols and was engrafted after hemilaminectomy and durotomy procedures in the MVC. Postoperatively the animal was clinically stable; however the animal died on the 7th day. Autopsy revealed co-morbid conditions like cystitis, nephritis and transmissible venereal tumor. Histopathology of the engrafted area revealed sustainability of aggregated stem cells that were transplanted revealing an ideal biocompatibility of the construct prepared with bone marrow mononuclear cells and polymer hydrogel for spinal cord regeneration in dogs. Further studies in similar cases will have to be undertaken to prove the long term efficacy.

Successful per vaginal delivery of conjoined twin monster in a Pattanam breed of sheep is reported and discussed in this communication. A full term ewe in its third parity was presented to the Veterinary Dispensary with the history of straining for last 10 hours and limbs protruding through the vulva without progression to the stage of parturition. After anamnesis and detailed examination, it was diagnosed as the case of dystocia due to conjoined twins and was relieved successfully by mild traction. A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of organic manures and micronutrients on growth and yield of Rose cv. Andhra Red (Rosa centifolia) in Andakudi village, Papanasam Taluk, Tanjore District, Tamilnadu during 2017-2018. The experiment was conducted by using different sources of nutrients viz., farmyard manure, vermicompost and poultry manure were applied in the soil, whereas micronutrients mixture viz., ZnSO4, FeSO4, MnSO4 and B @ 0.5% each were given as foliar application. It was carried out in the randomized block design with three replications comprising 14 treatments. Observation on various vegetative and flowering parameters were assessed. Among all the treatments, it was significantly increased all the vegetative and flowering parameters which recorded the highest value in plant height, number of laterals, number of leaves plant-1, leaf area (cm2) at 45 and 90 days after pruning, total chlorophyll content (CCI), days taken for first flowering, number of flowers plant-1, single flower weight (g), volume of flower (ml) and flower weight plant-1 (kg) with the application of vermicompost @ 2 Kg bush-1 along with foliar application of micronutrient mixture (ZnSO4 + FeSO4 + MnSO4 + B each @ 0.5% foliar spray) followed by poultry manure @ 10 kg bush-1 with combination of micronutrient mixture. Hence, it could be concluded that the treatment combination of vermicompost @ 2 Kg bush-1 along with micronutrient mixture was found to have pronounced effect on maximizing growth and profuse flowering in rose cv.
