We study the production of multi-charmed hadrons by recombination in heavy ion collisions by focusing on the production of $\Xi_{cc}$, $\Xi_{cc}^*$, $\Omega_{scc}$, $\Omega_{scc}^*$, $\Omega_{ccc}$ baryons and X(3872) mesons. Starting from the estimation of yields for those hadrons at chemical freeze-out in both the statistical and coalescence model, we evaluate their transverse momentum distributions at mid-rapidity in the coalescence model. We show that yields of multi-charmed hadrons in heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC are large enough, and thereby not only multi-charmed hadrons observed so far, e.g., the $\Xi_{cc}$ but also those which have not been observed yet, can be discovered sufficiently in heavy ion collisions. We also find that the transverse momentum distribution ratio between various multi-charmed hadrons sensitively reflects the interplay between quark contents of corresponding hadrons as well as the transverse momentum distribution of charm quarks at the hadronization point, and therefore we insist that studying both the transverse momentum distributions of multi-charmed hadrons themselves and transverse momentum distribution ratios between various multi-charmed hadrons provide us with useful information on hadron production mechanism involving charm quarks in heavy ion collisions., Comment: 20 pages, 9 figures

We study the production of charmed hadrons $D^{0}$ and $\Lambda_c^+$ in relativistic heavy-ion collisions using an improved quark coalescence model. In particular, we extend the usual coalescence model by letting a produced hadron to have the same velocity as the center-of-mass velocity of coalesced constituent quarks during hadronization to take into account the effect of collective flow in produced quark-gluon plasma. This results in a shift of charmed resonances of higher masses to larger transverse momenta ($p_T^{}$). Requiring all charm quarks of very low $p_T^{}$ to be converted to hadrons via coalescence and letting charm quarks not undergoing coalescence to hadronize by independent fragmentation, we obtain a good description of the measured yield ratio $\Lambda_c^+/D^0$ as a function of $p_T^{}$ in $\text{Au} + \text{Au}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}^{}=200$~GeV by the STAR Collaboration at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures

We systematically analyze the flavor color spin structure of the pentaquark $q^4\bar{Q}$ system in a constituent quark model based on the chromomagnetic interaction in both the SU(3) flavor symmetric and SU(3) flavor broken case with and without charm quarks. We show that the originally proposed pentaquark state $\bar{Q}s qqq$ by Gignoux et al and by Lipkin indeed belongs to the most stable pentaquark configuration, but that when charm quark mass correction based on recent experiments are taken into account, a doubly charmed antistrange pentaquark configuration ($udc c \bar{s}$) is perhaps the only flavor exotic configuration that could be stable and realistically searched for at present through the $\Lambda_c K^+ K^- \pi^+$ final states. The proposed final state is just reconstructing $K^+$ instead of $\pi^+$ in the measurement of $\Xi^{++}_{cc} \rightarrow \Lambda_c K^- \pi^+ \pi^+$ reported by LHCb collaboration and hence measurable immediately., Comment: 5pages,5tables

We study the hadronic effects on the $cc\bar{q}\bar{q}$ tetraquark state by focusing on the $T_{cc}(1^+)$ meson during the hadronic stage of relativistic heavy ion collisions. We evaluate the absorption cross section of the $T_{cc}$ meson by pions in the quasi-free approximation, and investigate the time evolution of the $T_{cc}$ abundance in the hadronic medium based on the effective volume and temperature of the hadronic phase at both RHIC and LHC modelled by hydrodynamic calculations with the lattice equation of state. We probe two possible scenarios for the structure of $T_{cc}$, where it is assumed to be either a compact multiquark state or a larger sized molecular configuration composed of DD*. Our numerical results suggest that the hadronic effects on the $T_{cc}$ production is insignificant, and its final abundance depends on the initial yield of $T_{cc}$ produced from the quark-gluon plasma phase, which will depend on the assumed structure of the state., Comment: 23 pages, 5 figures

In this paper, we propose a learning rule based on a back-propagation (BP) algorithm that can be applied to a hardware-based deep neural network (HW-DNN) using electronic devices that exhibit discrete and limited conductance characteristics. This adaptive learning rule, which enables forward, backward propagation, as well as weight updates in hardware, is helpful during the implementation of power-efficient and high-speed deep neural networks. In simulations using a three-layer perceptron network, we evaluate the learning performance according to various conductance responses of electronic synapse devices and weight-updating methods. It is shown that the learning accuracy is comparable to that obtained when using a software-based BP algorithm when the electronic synapse device has a linear conductance response with a high dynamic range. Furthermore, the proposed unidirectional weight-updating method is suitable for electronic synapse devices which have nonlinear and finite conductance responses. Because this weight-updating method can compensate the demerit of asymmetric weight updates, we can obtain better accuracy compared to other methods. This adaptive learning rule, which can be applied to full hardware implementation, can also compensate the degradation of learning accuracy due to the probable device-to-device variation in an actual electronic synapse device.

Recently, reinforcement learning has been successfully applied to the logical game of Go, various Atari games, and even a 3D game, Labyrinth, though it continues to have problems in sparse reward settings. It is difficult to explore, but also difficult to exploit, a small number of successes when learning policy. To solve this issue, the subgoal and option framework have been proposed. However, discovering subgoals online is too expensive to be used to learn options in large state spaces. We propose Micro-objective learning (MOL) to solve this problem. The main idea is to estimate how important a state is while training and to give an additional reward proportional to its importance. We evaluated our algorithm in two Atari games: Montezuma's Revenge and Seaquest. With three experiments to each game, MOL significantly improved the baseline scores. Especially in Montezuma's Revenge, MOL achieved two times better results than the previous state-of-the-art model.

The constituent quark model with color-spin hyperfine potential is used to investigate the property of a compact pentaquark configuration with $J^p$=$3/2^-$ and isospin=1/2, which is the most likely quantum number of one of the recently observed exotic baryon states at LHCb. Starting from the characterization of the isospin, color, and spin states for the pentaquark configuration, we construct the total wave function composed of the spatial wave function, which we take to be symmetric and in S-wave, and the four orthogonal isospin $\otimes$ color $\otimes$ spin states that satisfy the Pauli principle. We then use the variational method to find a compact stable configuration. While there are compact configurations where the hyperfine potential is more attractive than the sum of $p$ and $J/\psi$ hyperfine potentials, we find that the ground state is the isolated $p$ and $J/\psi$ state. Furthermore, the mass of the excited state lies far above the observed pentaquark state leading us to conclude that the observed states can not be a compact multiquark configuration with $J^p$=$3/2^-$., Comment: no figure,10 pages

Heavy ion collisions (HIC) at high energies are excellent ways for producing heavy hadrons and composite particles. With upgraded detectors at RHIC and LHC, it has become possible to measure hadrons beyond their ground states. Therefore, HIC provide a new method for studying exotic hadrons that are either hadronic molecular states or compact multiquark systems. Because their structures are related to the fundamental properties of QCD, studying exotic hadrons is currently one of the most active areas of research in hadron physics. Experiments carried out at various accelerator facilities have indicated that some exotic hadrons may have already been produced. The present review is a summary of the current understanding of a selected set of exotic particle candidates that can be potentially measured in HIC. It also includes discussions on the production of exotic hadrons in HIC based on the coalescence and statistical models. A more detailed discussion leads to the conclusion that the yield of a hadron is typically an order of magnitude smaller when it is a compact multiquark state than that of an excited hadronic state with normal quark numbers and/or a molecular configuration. Attention is also given to some of the proposed heavy exotic hadrons that could be produced with sufficient abundance in HIC because of the significant numbers of charm and bottom quarks produced at RHIC and LHC, making it possible to study them in these experiments. Further included in the discussion are the general formalism for the coalescence model that involves resonance particles and its implication on the present estimated yield for resonance production. Finally, a review is given on recent studies to constrain the hadron-hadron interaction through correlation measurements in HIC and their implications on the interpretation and the possible existence of exotic states in hadronic interactions., Comment: 74 pages, 13 figures

We investigate the freeze-out conditions of a particle in an expanding system of interacting particles in order to understand the productions of resonances, hadronic molecules and light nuclei in heavy ion collisions. Applying the kinetic freeze-out condition with explicit hydrodynamic calculations for the expanding hadronic phase to the daughter particles of $K^*$ mesons, we find that the larger suppression of the yield ratio of $K^*/K$ at LHC than at RHIC compared to the expectations from the statistical hadronization model based on chemical freeze-out parameters reflects the lower kinetic freeze-out temperature at LHC than at RHIC. Furthermore, we point out that for the light nuclei or hadronic molecules that are bound, the yields are affected by the freeze-out condition of the respective particle in the hadronic matter, which leads to the observation that the deuteron production yields are independent of the size of deuteron, and depend only on the number of ground state constituents., Comment: 5 pages, 1 figure

We study the $K^*$ meson reduction in heavy ion collisions by focusing on the hadronic effects on the $K^*$ meson abundance. We evaluate the absorption cross sections of the $K^*$ and $K$ meson by light mesons in the hadronic matter, and further investigate the variation in the meson abundances for both particles during the hadronic stage of heavy ion collisions. We show how the interplay between the interaction of the $K^*$ meson and kaon with light mesons in the hadronic medium determines the final yield difference of the statistical hadronization model to the experimental measurements. For the central Au+Au collision at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV, we find that the $K^*/K$ yield ratio at chemical freeze-out decreases by $36\%$ during the expansion of the hadronic matter, resulting in the final ratio comparable to STAR measurements of 0.23 $\pm0.05$., Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures
