Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan profesionalisme guru, kualitas anak didik, dan guru yang berkarakter. Populasi penelitian adalah guru SD di Provinsi Sumatera Utara dengan sampel yang diambil secara purposive, yaitu Kabupaten Batubara. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes, wawancara, FGD, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan teknik statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa nilai UKG SD dan SMP tahun 2013 di Kabupaten Batubara secara nasional sangat rendah, bahkan ada yang memiliki nilai kompetensi 1,0. Nilai rata-rata kompetensi guru hanya sebesar 39,61 untuk guru SD, masih berada di bawah nilai rata-rata secara nasional dan Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Nilai UKG SMP sebesar 46,86 masih berada di bawah nilai rata-rata nasional. Hal itu menunjukkan bahwa sebagian guru di Batubara masih memiliki profesionalisme yang rendah dalam melakukan tugas profesinya sehingga ke depan diharapkan perkembangan karakter guru yang berkualitas. THE URGENT DEMAND FOR PROFESSIONALISM AND THE HOPE FOR TEACHERS WITH GOOD CHARACTERS

Practical work instruction is one of important teaching materials in the learning process, especially in the course that requires laboratory work. The existence of practical work instruction will really assist the students in carrying the lab work activity out. In addition, practical work instruction can also help lecturers in giving guidance during the practical activities so that the process of carrying the practical work out runs well. Based on the results of observation and personal experience of teaching teaching, some courses which include practical work do not have appropriate practical work instruction. This is why we need to develop practical work instruction on the observation process of regeneration and pigmentation of caudal fin of Zebrafish or Zebra Danio. The purpose of this research is to produce a goodpractical work instruction that is appropriate to be used by students especially in the course of animal development structure. The development of this practical work instruction used the development method of Thiagarajan which consists of define, design, develop and disseminate. However, in this research, we only proceeded until the develop stage. The object of this research was the students of IKIP Budi Utomo Malang, Biology Education Department who took the course of animal development structure. Based on the results of data analysis, we obtained that the practice manual was valid and appropriate to be used in practical work activities based on the evaluation criteria from the expert validation.   Keywords: Practical Work Instruction, Thiagarajan

TRAINING FOR MAKING FLASH-BASED MATHEMATICS LEARNING MEDIA USING ANIMATE ADOBE FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN KUNINGAN DISTRICT. The purpose of the community partnership program for MGMP teachers at the Kuningan Cluster and Luragung Clusters in Kuningan Regency is to improve teacher competency in creating, developing and implementing flash-based mathematics learning media using Adobe Animate. The problem faced by partners is in implementing mathematics learning in schools that are still dominated through the use of textbooks, so that the teacher's ability to demonstrate mathematical concepts in learning is still lacking. This was allegedly due to the limited ability of teachers to use learning media, especially ICT-based media. Mathematical MGMP SMP Kuningan cluster and Luragung cluster in Kuningan Regency have a sufficient number of teacher members, but in terms of competence still needs improvement. Understanding of computer-based learning is still very minimal because mathematics teachers have not received specific training on ICT-based mathematics learning. To overcome this condition an activity was packaged in the form of training on the development of flash-based mathematics learning devices using adobe animate for the mathematics MGMP of the Brass Cluster and Luragung Group. This activity was carried out through the following stages: 1) the provision of flash-based mathematics learning and development workshops using adobe animate; 2) mentoring in making flash-based mathematics learning devices using adobe animate; 3) mentoring implementation of flash-based mathematics learning devices using adobe animate; and 4) evaluation and replication.

Lower limb neuropathic pain in HIV patients is a common manifestation of sensory neuropathy (HIV-SN), but can be seen in patients who do not meet standard definitions of HIV-SN. The drug stavudine is a risk factor for HIV-SN, but some patients treated without stavudine experience HIV-SN, and the prevalence and risk factors influencing neuropathic pain in this setting are unknown. A cross sectional study at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital Jakarta tested 197 HIV patients treated for >12 months without stavudine. HIV-SN was defined using the AIDS Clinical Trial Group Brief Peripheral Neuropathy Screening Test (ACTG-BPNST). A validated Indonesia translation of Douleur Neuropathique en 4 (DN4) questionnaire was used to assess lower limb neuropathic pain. Nerve conduction studies assessed large nerve fiber function and Stimulated Skin Wrinkle (SSW) tests were performed to assess small nerve fibers. The prevalence of neuropathic pain was 6.6%. BPNST + HIV-SN was diagnosed in 14.2% of the cohort and 38.5% of patients with pain. Use of protease inhibitors and ART duration <2 years associated with neuropathic pain in univariate (p =.036, p =.002, resp.) and multivariable analyses (model p <.001). SSW tests were abnormal in 53.8% of subjects with neuropathic pain and only 25.5% without pain (p =.05). Patients with pain without BPNST + HIV-SN had begun ART more recently than those with both diagnoses. Overall this preliminary study showed that neuropathic pain associated with protease inhibitors and a shorter duration of ART in Indonesian HIV patients, and may be an early symptom of small fiber neuropathy in this context.

Welding occurs much hazard especially toward welders eyestrain. The Objective of study was to analyzed relation between age and eyestrain and also weld luminous intensity and eyestrain at welders of PT. X in District of Gresik. Research was carried out by cross sectional and observational study. Subjects were 20 welders of PT. X in District of Gresik. Data collecting was carried out by interview, measurement instrument, and examination. The independent variables were age and weld luminous intensity, and the dependent variable was eyestrain. Spearman Test was used to correlate between age and eyestrain. Pearson Product Moment Test was used to correlate between weld luminous intensity and eyestrain. According to the results, there was significant correlation between age and eyestrain (p = 0,007). There are more eyestrains will be occurred in older age. Result also showed that there was significant correlation between weld luminous intensity and eyestrain (p = 0,023). High exposure of weld luminous intensity will occurs contrast so that eyes needs much effort to adapt it. Light of weld contain UV light, visible light, and infrared radiation. In conclusion, there was significant correlation between age and eyestrain. And also, there was significant correlation between weld luminous intensity and eyestrain. Welders must use face shield depend on types of welding and company should held eyes examination to welders routinely.

Objective: HIV-Associated sensory neuropathy (HIV-SN) remains common in HIV+ individuals receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART), even though neurotoxic antiretroviral drugs (e.g. stavudine) have been phased out of use. Accumulating evidence indicates that the neuropathy is immune-mediated. We hypothesize that chemokines produced locally in the skin promote migration of macrophages and T cells into the tissue, damaging cutaneous nerves causing HIV-SN. Design: We assessed chemokine receptor expression on infiltrating CD14 + and CD3 + cells around cutaneous nerves in standardized skin biopsies from HIV-SN+ patients (n = 5), HIV-SN-patients (n = 9) and healthy controls (n = 4). Methods: The AIDS Clinical Trials Group Brief Peripheral Neuropathy Screen was used to assess Indonesian HIV+ patients receiving ART without stavudine (case definition: bilateral presence of at least one symptom and at least one sign of neuropathy). Distal leg skin biopsies were stained to visualize chemokine receptors (CCR2, CCR5, CXCR3, CXCR4, CX3CR1), infiltrating CD3 + and CD14 + cells, and protein-gene-product 9.5 on nerves, using immunohistochemistry and 4-colour confocal microscopy. Results: Intraepidermal nerve fibre density was variable in patients without HIV-SN and generally lower in those with HIV-SN. CX3CR1 was more evident on CD14 + cells whereas CCR2, CCR5, CXCR3 and CXCR4 were more common on CD3 + cells. Expression of CX3CR1, CCR2 and CCR5 was more common in HIV-SN+ patients than those without HIV-SN. CXCR3 and CXCR4 were upregulated in all HIV+ patients, compared with healthy controls. Conclusion: Inflammatory macrophages expressing CX3CR1 and T cells expressing CCR2 and CCR5 may participate in peripheral nerve damage leading to HIV-SN in HIV+ patients treated without stavudine. Further characterization of these cells is warranted.

Barang saniter merupakan salah satu macam barang yang dijual di toko bahan bangunan. Jenis barangnya yang bermacam-macam menyulitkan pemilik toko dalam membuat keputusan mengenai penempatan barang tersebut. Banyaknya faktor dalam penempatan barang seperti jenis barangnya, harga, model dan bahan dapat mempengaruhi keputusan pemilik dalam menempatkan barang. Solusi untuk permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam menentukan penempatan barang saniter yang tepat yaitu dengan membangun sebuah program bantu penempatan barang saniter yang dapat memberikan rekomendasi tujuan penempatan kepada pemilik toko sesuai dengan informasi yang diberikan dengan menggunakan metode Naïve Bayes. Atribut yang digunakan dalam membuat klasifikasi meliputi jenis barang, harga, model dan bahan dari barang saniter. Dari klasifikasi yang sudah ditentukan maka dihitung nilai probabilitas tujuan penempatan barang tersebut dengan menggunakan metode Naïve Bayes. Output dari program adalah toko tujuan penempatan barang yang memiliki nilai probabilitas yang paling besar. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem penempatan persediaan barang saniter berdasarkan perhitungan probabilitas dengan menggunakan metode Naïve Bayes. Perhitungan probabilitas berdasarkan atribut yang digunakan dalam membuat klasifikasi yang meliputi atribut jenis barang, harga, model dan bahan dari barang saniter. Hasil keputusan akhir dari tujuan penempatan persediaan barang saniter kembali kepada pemilik tersebut.
