Articles published in the Rehabilitation Counseling Bulletin (RCB) from 2000 to 2019 were analyzed for trends in author characteristics (e.g., gender, work setting, country of domicile, leading contributors) and article content (e.g., research methodology, participants, research design, statistics used, reports of effect size). Fong Chan was the leading contributor scholar and the University of Memphis was the leading institutional contributor. Among other key results, greater author collaboration was noted, and international lead authorship increased significantly to nearly 14%. Research-based articles are being published at a counseling discipline-leading rate of 96%, and almost all research article variables were relatively stable over the 20 years assessed. This study documented the associations and variability of four prestige metrics for kinesiology-related journals. Four prestige metrics for the year 2022 were collected from three database services for 334 kinesiology-related journals. The prestige measures were highly skewed and had large variability, with medical journals having the highest values. There were strong nonlinear and heteroscedastic associations between all four prestige indicators, however rankings of top 10% journals based on these metrics had considerable disagreement between metrics. The substantial variability of journal prestige metrics was larger than the variation previously reported for scholar subjective perceptions of journal prestige. The prestige metrics provided inconsistent and unrealistically precise estimates of kinesiology journal prestige. Objective: To consider the approaches within Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) databases for limiting geographically. To compare the limits to an adaptation of NICE's UK MEDLINE filter for use on WoSCC databases. Methods: We tested and appraised the inbuilt functions and search field options that support identification by countries/regions and affiliations. We compared these with an adapted filter to identify healthcare research on or about the UK. We calculated the recall of the inbuilt limits and filter using 177 studies and investigated why records were missed. We also calculated the percentage reduction of the overall number-needed-to-screen (ONNS). Results: Inbuilt limits within WoSCC enable identification of research from specific countries/regions or affiliations if there is data in the address field. Refining by affiliations allows retrieval of research where affiliations are in the 200 or 500 most frequent for a set of results. An adaptation of the UK MEDLINE filter achieved an average of 97% recall. ONNS was significantly reduced using the filter. However, studies where the countries or regions are only mentioned within the full text or other non-searchable fields will be missed. Conclusion: Information specialists should consider how inbuilt geographic limits operate on WoSCC and whether these are suitable for their research. The adapted filter can sensitively limit to the UK and could be useful for systematic reviews due to its high recall and ability to significantly reduce ONNS. The author considers safety in the workplace as a fundamental human right that is not granted to educators in the U.S. He discusses a study from the American Psychological Association (APA) which found that teachers, school social workers, school psychologists, and school staff reported significant verbal or threatening victimization at the workplace, data showing that school violence is a growing crisis that need to be addressed, and his suggestions to improve school safety.

The article introduces a new publishing model for clinical practice guidelines by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) in Clinical Infectious Diseases (CID). In this open science era, psychology demands researchers be transparent in their research practices. In turn, researchers might ask if journal editors are being equally transparent in their editorial practices. Editor bias is when editors fail to be fair and impartial in their handling of articles. Editor bias can arise because of identity—who authors are—or because of content—what authors write. Proposed solutions to editor bias include masking author identity and increasing editor diversity. What is needed is greater transparency. By being more transparent, editors would be in a better position to encourage others to embrace open science. Public Significance Statement: Editors play an essential role in the article review process in psychology, but how they perform that important work is not accessible. Editors are vulnerable to being biased in their judgments by the identity of authors and the content of articles. This editorial reflects on the current and future directions of the Journal of Health Psychology. As the Co-Editors in Chief, we briefly outline our positionality and the importance of our Editorial Board and other peer reviewers in ensuring the rigour of accepted articles. We comment on the middle-ground that has to be struck when considering the scope of open science given that data sharing has to be tempered by ethical and methodological considerations. We re-visit the aims and scope of the journal and reflect on some of the key aspects of diversity that set the journal apart from others. We showcase a selection of Editors' picks that are published in this issue and available as a special collection. Background: Collaborations are an essential element of scientific activity and particularly important in fields such as pediatric anesthesiology, where the evidence base in general is relatively limited. A recent scientometric analysis revealed a geographic diversification of publication activity in pediatric anesthesiology within the last two decades, accompanied by a surge in international collaborations. Objectives: Given the hypothesis of a similar growth in the activity and dynamics of publications in pediatric anesthesiology, the objective of this scientometric study was to analyze the publication activity and collaboration habits in research in pediatric anesthesiology from Germany, Austria and Switzerland (D-A-CH). Method: This secondary analysis identified all publications on pediatric anesthesiology with an affiliation from the D‑A-CH countries between 2001 and 2020 from PubMed and Web of Science. The query parameters included the timeframe 2001–2020, authors' affiliations tied to anesthesiology departments (using various forms of the term "anesthesia"), and the mention of pediatric interest in titles or abstracts. The data underwent standardization to account for linguistic variations. The publications were assigned to a state, city and institution based on the correspondence address, to a year based on the publication date and to a source based on the journal. The primary endpoint was publication activity and dynamics, represented by the number of publications and the respective growth rates (calculated as the linear regression slope). Secondary endpoints included the share of collaborations within and outside the D‑A-CH region (at the country and institutional level), the distribution of publication activity and the most prominent sources of publications. Results: Between 2001 and 2020 a total of 3406 publications on pediatric anesthesiology involving authors from the D‑A-CH countries were identified. Of these 2807 (82.4%) had a correspondence address in D‑A-CH. The average annual growth rate of publications with a correspondence address was + 2.9% for the D‑A-CH countries and + 7.7% for publications with collaborations. The number of publications in which an institution from D‑A-CH was named as a coauthor from a correspondence address outside D‑A-CH also increased by an average of 7.4% per year during the study period. The majority of collaborations occurred between institutions within the D‑A-CH region, although Swiss institutions exhibited a much higher proportion of collaborations outside the region. Of all publications with a correspondence address 90% originated from 46 cities. The most prominent source was Die Anästhesiologie for publications from Germany, and Pediatric Anesthesia for publications from Austria and Switzerland. Conclusion: The number of publications in pediatric anesthesiology from the D‑A-CH countries has increased over the past two decades, accompanied by a surge in collaborations. Although almost a third of the world's population is exposed to iodine deficiency (ID), and supplementation programs such as enriching table salt have been carried out or are being carried out at the global and national level, in many regions of the world, people are facing an increase in iodine intake, which is mainly due to the presence of large amounts of iodine in water, soil, agricultural products, or high consumption of seafood. Published articles were indexed in the Scopus database (from 2000 to 1 April 2023) were reviewed and analyzed by VOSviewer software. The results showed the growing interest of researchers over the last 20 years in environmental iodine intake. Purpose: The purpose of this article is to assist the pharmacist engaged in nutrition support therapy in staying current with pertinent literature. Methods: Several board-certified nutrition support pharmacists aggregated a list of articles relevant to pharmacy nutrition support published in 2023. The list was compiled into a spreadsheet whereby the authors were asked to assess whether the article was considered important. A culled list of publications was then identified whereby at least 5 out of the 8 author participants considered the article to be important for pharmacists practicing in nutrition support. Guideline and consensus papers, important to practice but not ranked, were also included. Results: A total of 133 articles were identified; 9 from the primary literature were voted by the group to be of high importance. Fourteen guidelines, position, recommendation, or consensus papers were also identified. The top-ranked articles from the primary literature were summarized and a narrative regarding its implications to pharmacy nutrition support practice were provided. Amid growing restrictions on reproductive health care nationwide, understanding real-time contextualization of patient experience is critical. This qualitative approach uses inductive content analysis to examine 74 anonymous journal entries from 2020 to 2023 from patients accessing abortions in New Mexico. Prompted by a journal titled, "Tell your story, it may help someone else," entries described decision-making, highlighted autonomy, and built solidarity. This analysis explains how patients contextualized their abortion and offers insight to improving experiences for patients traveling for abortion care. This study examines if and how pet protection orders have been used by domestic violence survivors in the 36 states and the District of Columbia in which they have been enacted. A review of court websites determined if there was a specific item to include a pet in the temporary and/or final protection order. In addition, individual court administrators were contacted in various states to determine if statistics were available on the number of pet protection orders issued. Another mode of investigation included examining appropriate websites in each state to ascertain if the state issued a report on domestic violence statistics, and if so, if that report contained information on pet protection orders. Purpose: This article explores the notion of domestic violence in one of the most media-rich debates around transgender issues in Russia. Anzhela Likina's murder brought a lot of attention of various outlets from the social media to the federal TV channels. I aim to queer this very notion basing my critique on the case of her murder and the debate that followed afterwards. Methods: I analyse the discourse on family violence as it is given in the publications about the murder of Likina and comments under these publications. I identified 82 media reports on the murder and the following trial. My approach to the reading of these reports, comments and a TV-programme is discourse analysis. Hence, I am looking at power relations which constituted these narratives. Results: In February 2016 Anzhela was stabbed to death by the partner of her ex-wife Gulnara. The murderer built his defence arguing that he killed Anzhela to punish her for beating Gulnara. A detailed look at the media publications reflects that this was a narrative strategy to get a lighter sentence. In turn Anzhela's mother and sister accused Gulnara of being violent to Anzhela and their two daughters which constitutes another facet of family violence narratives. Based on my analysis of media reports I argue that domestic violence is instrumentalised as a narrative justification for further violence. Conclusions: I uncover the various kinds of violence that Anzhela had to endure on different levels: state violence, societal violence, police violence, domestic violence, and media violence towards her both while she was alive and after her murder. The articles in this special issue of AIDS and Behavior focus on the collision between HIV/AIDS and COVID-19 as intersecting pandemics that profoundly impacted communities globally. This editorial highlights the complex interplay between these two public health crises. The pandemic disrupted access to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment services, potentially jeopardizing decades of progress. Mental health challenges and social vulnerability among people living with HIV (PWH) were exacerbated, with preexisting health disparities amplified, disproportionately affecting marginalized populations. However, despite these challenges, the pandemic also spurred innovation and adaptation in HIV prevention and care, with increased use of telehealth and other modalities. The enduring and actionable lessons learned from the collision of HIV and COVID-19 pandemics can prepare us for the next public health challenge with two calls for action. First, we call for integrated and equitable responses that address the multifaceted challenges faced by individuals and communities affected by HIV in the post-COVID-19 era. BACKGROUND: Organizations are in a state of continual evolution, driven by the relentless shifts in their external environments. Numerous theories have been proposed to understand the essential skills and capabilities for successful organizational change. Yet, there remains a gap in capturing a holistic view necessary to fully comprehend the dynamics of competence in today's rapidly changing landscape. OBJECTIVE: This research aims to explore and consolidate the concept of 'competence' in the context of organizational change processes. METHODS: Employing an integrative literature review approach, a total of 3,230 studies were screened. Out of these, 32 studies were selected based on strict relevance and quality criteria, providing a robust foundation for the analysis. RESULTS: The findings reveal a multi-layered nature of organizational change, highlighting that the nature and prerequisites of change vary significantly across different organizational levels. By applying a competence lens, we discern how required competence during change are not uniform but rather vary depending on whether they are applied in an operational or strategic context. This demonstrates a nuanced, level-dependent variability in change competence across the organizational hierarchy. CONCLUSION: We conceptualize 'change competence' as a dual-faceted construct. It encompasses both the capacity to leverage existing organizational competence and the adeptness to develop new competence, thereby meeting the evolving demands imposed by both internal and external drivers of change. Objective: This study points to probing the inclination and mapping knowledge domain of acupuncture for Parkinson's disease through bibliometrics. Methods: A search was conducted on 1 February 2024 using the Web of Science to identify papers published on acupuncture for Parkinson's disease. The analysis included scientific research, countries, organizations, authors/cited authors, keywords, journals, and cited references. Bibliometric data were analyzed using VOSviewer software, CiteSpace, GraphPad Prism, and Scimago Graphica. The studies on acupuncture for Parkinson's disease were visualized as a network map according to the publication year. Results: The cumulative publication trend on acupuncture for Parkinson's disease is increasing year by year. China is the leading contributor in this field. International collaboration is predominantly concentrated in Europe, while institutional collaboration is chiefly limited to Chinese universities specializing in traditional Chinese medicine. Park HJ is the most prolific author, with "Movement Disorders" being the journal with the most publications. "Brain Research" is identified as a key journal, reflecting a focus on neuroscience. Kim SN is the most cited author, while Eisenberg DM is a prominent author in this field. Research topics such as mouse models, systematic reviews, and non-motor symptoms are frequently explored, with messenger RNA of substantia nigra emerging as a notable keyword in this field. Choi YG's 2009 paper, published in the Neuroscience Letters journal, is a critical reference in this field. Key papers include Eisenberg DM's 1998 study on randomized trials of acupuncture for non-motor symptoms of PD, as well as research focusing on the neuroinflammatory regulatory mechanisms of acupuncture for PD. Conclusion: The bibliometric analysis offers an exhaustive generality of the advancement and worldwide trends in acupuncture treatments for Parkinson's disease, shedding light on potential avenues for prospective research. Background: Cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) has become a crucial technique in appraising the efficiency of healthcare interventions and resource allocation decisions. Cost-effectiveness analysis is now widely used to evaluate whether the effect of a healthcare intervention justifies additional expenditure. Method: We used PubMed database with search descriptors: "Cost effectiveness" [Title / Abstract] OR "Cost effectiveness analysis" [Title / Abstract] AND "Healthcare" [Title / Abstract]. The common bibliometric indicators were applied. Results: We retrieved a total of 7,561 articles within 2013 and 2023. The growth pattern showed a progressive pattern. Articles with 5 authors signature had the highest number in publication. The most productive authors in cost effectiveness research in healthcare were Liew Danny and Ademi Zanfina. The most utilized journals for the publications were BMJ Open, PLoS One and Journal of Medical Economics. The most productive institutions were resident in United Kingdom with the University of York and University of Oxford at the helm. Conclusion: Scientific production in Cost effectiveness in healthcare research was found to be progressive. Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a globally prevalent neurodegenerative disorder, primarily characterized by muscle rigidity, resting tremor, and bradykinesia. The incidence of PD is rapidly escalating worldwide. Numerous studies have been conducted on the application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in investigating the substantia nigra (SN) in PD patients. However, to date, no bibliometric analysis has been performed on this specific research area. Therefore, this study aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of the current status in MRI research on the SN in PD patients. Materials and methods: MRI study records related to the SN in PD patients from 2001 to 2024 were searched by using the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database and then the CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to conduct bibliometric analysis. Results: Our analysis found that the number of published articles related studies on MRI of the SN in PD showed an overall upward trend over the past decade, in which Lehericy, Stephane, Du, Guangwei, and Huang, Xuemei are the top three authors with the most articles. Additionally, United States, China and Germany are the main contributors to MRI studies of SN in PD. And Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Florida and Seoul National University are the leading institutions in the field. Finally, the keyword analysis showed that the hotspots and trends of research in this field are mainly concentrated in quantitative susceptibility mapping, neuroimaging, and neuromelanin-sensitive MRI. Conclusion: These analysis identified the most influential authors, institutions, countries and research hotspots in the field of SN-MRI research in PD, which has reference significance for the research interest in this field and provides a new idea for PD prevention. Background: Ferroptosis is a crucial pathogenic mechanism in Parkinson's disease, offering significant potential for pharmacological intervention. Despite its importance, the number of bibliometric analyses examining the relationship between ferroptosis and Parkinson's disease remains limited. This study aims to elucidate the knowledge structure and primary research focuses within this field using various bibliometric tools search. Materials and methods: We conducted a comprehensive literature son ferroptosis in Parkinson's disease using the Web of Science Core Collection database. Bibliometric analyses and visualizations were performed with VOSviewer, examining the geographical and institutional distribution of publications, journal interconnections, and keyword prevalence. Furthermore, CiteSpace was used to visually explore and analyze journal interactions and citation dynamics. The bibliometrix R package facilitated the delineation of collaborative networks across different countries and the construction of visual network representations illustrating relationships among authors, keywords, and journals. Data visualization was further enhanced with Microsoft Office Excel 2021. Results: Recently, there has been a significant increase in publications on ferroptosis, with China emerging as a leading contributor in this research area. Keyword analysis highlights the critical role of ferroptosis in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease, identifying GPX4 as a key enzyme mitigating lipid peroxidation. This study also elucidates the connections and distinctions between ferroptosis and other cell death processes such as apoptosis, autophagy, and pyroptosis. Current research primarily focuses on immunotherapy, prognosis, oxidative stress, lipid peroxidation, and the tumor microenvironment. Conclusion: This study provides a comprehensive initial analysis of the research landscape, identifying current focal points and potential future directions for ferroptosis research in Parkinson's disease. Social psychology research projects begin with generating a testable idea that relies heavily on a researcher's ability to assimilate, recall, and accurately process available research findings. However, an exponential increase in new research findings is making the task of synthesizing ideas across the multitude of topics challenging, which could result in important overlooked research connections. In this research, we leverage the fact that social psychology research is based on verbal models and employ large natural language models to generate hypotheses that can aid social psychology researchers in developing new research hypotheses. We adopted two methodological approaches. In the first approach, we fine-tuned the third-generation generative pre-trained transformer (GPT-3) language model on thousands of abstracts published in more than 50 social psychology journals in the past 55 years as well as on preprint repositories (PsyArXiv). Social psychology experts rated model- and human-generated hypotheses similarly on the dimensions of clarity, originality, and impact. In the second approach, without fine-tuning, we generated hypotheses using GPT-4 and found that social psychology experts rated these generated hypotheses as higher in quality than human-generated hypotheses on dimensions of clarity, originality, impact, plausibility, and relevance. Public Significance Statement: This work illustrates how large language models (LLMs), such as GPT-3 and GPT-4, can be used as an aid to generate research hypotheses for social psychology. The LLM-generated hypotheses were found to be on par with, or even better than, those written by human researchers.
