MINIMUM CURRICULUM VERSUS NATIONAL COURSE GUIDELINES: DIVERGENT PATHS IN THE TRAINING OF PROFESSIONALS IN CHEMISTRY. The professional practice of chemist is defined by Ordinary Resolution no 1,511 of 1975, edited by the Federal Council of Chemistry. This legislation is outdated and not in line with the National Curricular Guidelines for chemistry courses, approved by the National Council of Education in 2001. This situation has greatly hampered the training of future chemistry professional and the modernization of undergraduate courses and must be urgently corrected by those responsible for formulating the legislation that defines the chemistry courses. Thus, we understand that the time has come for the Federal Council of Chemistry, Scientific Societies and Universities to work together to solve this problem, modernizing the legislation that defines the attributions of the chemistry professionals and defining the necessary profile for their professional practice in the XXI century.

Objective: This study assessed the relationship between cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) and depression in adults. Methods: A total of 52,611 individuals aged between 18-59 years old were evaluated for symptoms of depression and CRF. The presence of depressive symptoms was self-report through the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), and the CRF was predicted from a non-exercise equation. The association between CRF and the presence of depression was determined by crude and multivariable-adjusted logistic regressions. Results: The associations were identified between symptoms of depression and CRF in both unadjusted and adjusted models. After adjusting for age categories, sex, body mass index categories, educational level, marital status, smoking, and alcohol use, the individuals with moderate CRF had 18% lower odds of depression (OR: 0.82, CI 95%: 0.71 – 0.95) compared to individuals with low CRF. Conclusion: Depressive symptoms are inversely related to CRF levels in adults.

O objetivo deste estudo é analisar através de uma Revisão Integrativa, o processo de adaptação da educação médica online na graduação, pontuando semelhanças e diferenças entre países com Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano diferentes. Ao final de 2019, o maior desafio do século XXI veio à tona, atingindo o mundo com a covid-19, alto contágio e poucas informações, medidas de isolamento social e novas formas de ensino tiveram que ser adaptadas pois o ensino era imprescindível. A medicina é um curso prático em sua maioria, é essencial o contato físico entre estudantes e pacientes, para o desenvolvendo habilidades essenciais. Diante dos pontos levantados na literatura pesquisa o consensual seria a aplicação de um método de ensino híbrido - online e presencial visando a otimização de tempo e rompimento de barreiras geográficas, não obstante a importância da prática clínica.

Interval training (IT) is a very efficient method. We aimed to verify the chronic effects of IT with different intensities on hemodynamic, autonomic and cardiorespiratory variables in the elderly. Twenty-four physically active elderly men participated in the study and were randomized into three groups: Training Group A (TGA, n = 8), Training Group B (TGB, n = 8) and control group (CG, n = 8). The TGA and TGB groups performed 32 sessions (48 h interval). TGA presented 4 min (55 to 60% of HRmax) and 1 min (70 to 75% of HRmax). The TGB training groups performed the same protocol, but performed 4 min at 45 to 50% HRmax and 1 min at 60 to 65% HRmax. Both training groups performed each set six times, totaling 30 min per session. Assessments were performed pre (baseline) after the 16th and 32nd intervention session. The CG performed only assessments. Hemodynamic, autonomic and cardiorespiratory (estimated VO2max) variables were evaluated. There were no significant differences between protocols and times (p > 0.05). However, the effect size and percentage delta indicated positive clinical outcomes, indicating favorable responses of IT. Background: Sprint interventions can be an excellent alternative for promoting positive adaptations to health and performance. Objectives: To verify the responses of different intervals between sprints in blood pressure, heart rate variability, lactate, and performance responses in physically active men. Methods: Ten male runners participated in the present study, trained in street running with at least one year of experience and a maximum of 3 years, with training frequency of at least two times and at the most four times weekly sessions, all participants without any kind of restrictions that could hinder the interventions—performing three sprint sessions (10 x 30m all out). Participants visited the laboratory on four occasions for ten consecutive days, with an interval of 48 hours between each visit. The first visit was intended to familiarize the participants with all experimental procedures. The remaining three visits were used to carry out the experimental protocols. At each visit, resting values ​​of blood pressure (BP), heart rate variability (HRV), and lactate variables were collected. After rest collections, each participant completed the following experimental conditions: a) 10 sprint series (all-out) of 30 meters with 20 seconds of recovery (S 20), b) 10 sprint series (all-out) of 30 meters with 30 seconds of recovery (S 30) and c) 10 sprint series (all-out) of 30 meters with 40 seconds of recovery (S 40). After each protocol, the lactate values ​​were collected 2 minutes and 30 seconds after the end of the sprints; BP was collected 60 minutes after the intervention (Post-10, Post-20, Post-30, Post-40, and Post- 50). After the blood pressure (BP) data was determined, the mean arterial pressure (MBP) was calculated using the formula MBP = SBP + (DBP X 2) / 3. The HRV was collected between 50 and 60 minutes after the end of the sprint session. Results: The study observed significant differences in the lactate variable for the comparison in the post and pre moments for all experimental conditions (S 20, S 30, and S 40) (p20 and S 30 from the sixth sprint (p40, significant discrepancies in effort perception started from the fifth sprint (p 20 and S 40 demonstrated greater capacity for recovery of BP, suggesting a possible greater parasympathetic capacity. For HRV and sprint performance, no difference was found (p Conclusion: The present study demonstrated that different recovery intervals did not reflect significant differences in hemodynamic, autonomic, lactate responses, and active individuals' performance submitted to sprint sessions. This study applied a protocol (10 x 30 m all out) with different recovery times (20, 30, and 40 seconds), and which, given this experiment, can serve as a training strategy (for health or performance) at different levels of physical conditioning.

A relevância pedagógica do cinema tem interessado a pesquisadores de diferentes campos das Ciências Humanas, o que reflete em pesquisas que enfocam a relação do cinema com a educação, o ensino-aprendizagem de línguas e a formação docente. Nesse sentido, com o propósito de contribuir com trabalhos já existentes, este artigo aborda a prática crítico-reflexiva na formação de professores de línguas e toma o filme como um gênero discursivo em potencial. A partir de postulados do dialogismo sociodiscursivo e da teoria de gêneros do discurso, investigamos como o filme pode ser aplicado à formação de professores de línguas, suscitando reflexões críticas sobre a prática desses profissionais. Para tanto, o modelo de sequências didáticas se apresentou pertinente, de modo que elaboramos uma proposta com o filme O Substituto (2011) e a aplicamos em um curso temático orientado pela metodologia pesquisa-ação, no qual realizamos atividades como sessão de visionamento do filme, discussões temáticas dialogadas com textos teóricos e uma entrevista focalizada. Na discussão dos dados, indicamos que as sequências didáticas são produtivas para o trabalho com filmes enquanto recurso pedagógico, visto que possibilitaram o engajamento efetivo das participantes nas reflexões.

A internacionalização, movimento decorrente da globalização, tem demandado que os sistemas educacionais de diversos país realizem processos de cooperação bilateral e multilateral, bem como estimulem novas formas de regulação de suas políticas educacionais. Em vista disso, considerando o contexto da elaboração de políticas linguísticas para a promoção da internacionalização do Ensino Superior brasileiro como ação que colabora com os resultados das avaliações às quais sãos submetidas as universidades, apresentamos algumas considerações a respeito das perspectivas teóricas da internacionalização do Ensino Superior e estabelecemos um diálogo com o construto de políticas linguísticas. Em seguida, descrevemos e analisamos os elementos que compõem a conceituação de internacionalização e de política linguística presentes no Plano de Internacionalização (PI) da Universidade de Brasília (UnB), vigente de 2018 a 2022, no sentido de compreender a perspectiva a partir da qual esse documento apresenta as ações e as metas a serem executadas nos âmbitos do ensino, da pesquisa e da extensão. Essa investigação qualitativa aplicou a metodologia de análise de conteúdo, por essa adotar normas sistemáticas de extrair os significados temáticos de um texto com a finalidade de interpretá-lo objetivamente. Os resultados indicaram que o PI da UnB apresenta uma conceituação de internacionalização e de política linguística socio-culturalmente situadas, pois as metas do documento em questão se propõem a responder questões pontuais referentes à elevação dos índices de desenvolvimento da educação brasileira na atualidade. Internationalization, a movement resulting from globalization, has demanded that the educational systems of various countries undertake bilateral and multilateral cooperation processes, as well as stimulate new forms of regulation of their educational policies. In view of this, considering the context of the elaboration of language policies to promote the internationalization of Brazilian education as an action that collaborates with the results of the evaluations to which the universities are submitted, we present some considerations about the theoretical perspectives of the internationalization of higher education and we establish a dialogue with the language policy construct. Then, we describe and analyze the elements that make up the conceptualization of internationalization and language policies present in the Internationalization Plan (IP) of the University of Brasília (UnB), in force from 2018 to 2022, in order to understand the perspective from which this document presents the actions and goals to be implemented in the areas of education, research and service. This qualitative investigation applied the content analysis methodology, since it adopts systematic norms to extract the thematic meanings of a text in order to interpret it objectively. The results indicated that UnB's IP presents a socio-culturally situated conceptualization of internationalization and language policies, since the goals of the document propose to answer specific issues for the increase in the development rates of Brazilian education today.

O fenômeno da internacionalização, apesar de complexo, pode ser compreendido como um processo cujo objetivo é introduzir, de maneira sustentável, uma dimensão internacional, intercultural e global nos propósitos, nas funções e nos serviços oferecidos pela instituição educacional. Haja vista que a internacionalização é uma resposta à globalização e também um produto desse fenômeno que muitas vezes se manifesta de forma impositiva, é fundamental compreendê-la por lentes críticas como um espaço estratégico para uma educação mais inclusiva. Neste artigo, investigamos a mobilidade internacional como elemento estratégico para o processo de internacionalização da formação de professores e, em seguida, apresentamos algumas implicações para a prática pedagógica com base na perspectiva de professores de línguas de um instituto federal da região Sudeste do Brasil. A análise dos dados gerados por meio de um questionário online semiestruturado indicou que a mobilidade internacional é vista pelos professores participantes como uma experiência que legitima e atribui valor cultural e linguístico à prática pedagógica.

Background: Depression and anxiety belong to a family of mental disturbances that have increased significantly in recent years. The etiology of both disorders comprises multiple and complex factors, from genetic background to environmental influence. Since depression and anxiety present severe symptoms, they represent a greater clinical burden and greater therapeutic difficulty. Currently, standardized diagnostic procedures for depression and anxiety allow for the addition of further treatments, including psychotherapy and/or pharmacological intervention, with effective outcomes. However, further steps should be considered with regard to consideration of the endocannabinoid system’s role in depression and anxiety. Objective: This study aimed to review the evidence from animal research and clinical studies on the role of cannabinoid receptors, the major endocannabinoids -anandamide (AEA) and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG)- and the enzymes related to the synthesis and degradation of these chemicals as putative biomarkers for diagnostic and therapeutic elements of depression and anxiety. Method: This review included the online search, identification, and analysis of articles (basic and clinical trials) published in English in PubMed linked to the role of cannabinoid receptors, AEA, 2- AG, and the enzymes associated with the synthesis and degradation of these endocannabinoids in depression and anxiety. Results: The neurobiological relevance of the endocannabinoid system offers genetic or pharmacological manipulation of this system as a potential strategy for the diagnostic and clinical management of mood disorders, including depression and anxiety. Conclusion: Although the described approach in this review is promising, no solid evidence is yet available, and along with additional experiments using animal models that mimic human depression and anxiety, clinical trials are needed to explore the role of the endocannabinoid system’s elements as well as the anandamide membrane transporter, none of which have been adequately studied in depression and anxiety.

Introduction: Although the study of the Triple Network (TN) model has gained attention in the exploration of stress-related processes, the neurophysiological mechanisms of TN in relation to perceived stress have been relatively understudied in nonclinical samples so far. The main objective of the present study was to investigate, in a sample of university students, the association of perceived stress with resting state electroencephalography (EEG) functional connectivity in the TN. Methods: Ninety university students (40 males and 50 females; mean age 22.30 ± 2.43 years; mean educational level 16.60 ± 1.62 years) were enrolled. EEG data were analyzed through the exact low-resolution electromagnetic tomography (eLORETA). Results: Higher levels of perceived stress were associated with decreased delta EEG connectivity within the central executive network (CEN) and between the CEN and the salience network (SN). Higher levels of perceived stress were also associated with decreased theta EEG connectivity between the CEN and the SN. The associations between perceived stress and EEG connectivity data were significant even when relevant confounding factors (i.e., sex, age, educational level, and psychopathological symptoms) were controlled for. Discussion: Taken together, our results suggest that higher levels of perceived stress are associated with a dysfunctional synchronization within the CEN and between the SN and the CEN. This functional pattern might in part reflect the negative impact of high levels of perceived stress on cognitive functioning.

INTRODUÇÃO: É possível que ocorram doenças hipertensivas exclusivas das gestações, podendo ser elas classificadas em pré-eclâmpsia, eclâmpsia e, quando mais grave, Síndrome HELLP (caracterizada por hemólise, enzimas hepáticas elevadas e baixa contagem de plaquetas). Umas das consequências da Síndrome HELLP é a hemorragia intracraniana e o acidente vascular cerebral hemorrágico (AVCH). Diante disso, o estudo em questão busca trazer informações sobre as possíveis complicações neurológicas acarretadas pela Síndrome de HELLP, principalmente na fase perinatal. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de uma revisão sistemática da literatura, na qual 7 artigos atenderam ao objetivo do estudo e foram eleitos para leitura integral do texto. RESULTADOS: Todos artigos foram relatos de casos de pacientes do sexo feminino, de 29 a 37 anos de idade, grávidas, que buscaram atendimento médico com um ou mais dos sintomas: cefaleia, náusea, vômito, fotofobia, dor epigástrica, síncope e convulsões. Todas foram diagnosticadas com Síndrome HELLP e, juntamente com ela, tiveram outros achados: nas pacientes, como hemorragia intracraniana, púrpura trombocitopênica trombótica (TTP), edema ou abscesso cerebral e Síndrome de Encefalopatia Reversível Posterior (PRES); nos fetos, como restrição do crescimento intrauterino fetal. Nos exames laboratoriais era comum encontrar tanto enzimas hepáticas elevadas quanto plaquetopenia. O tratamento predominante foi feito com sulfato de magnésio para profilaxia convulsiva, administração de plaquetas e dexametasona para a maturação do pulmão do feto. DISCUSSÃO: Constatou-se sinais e sintomas mais recorrentes, como cefaléia, epigastralgia, fotofobia, síncope e convulsões, além do quadro característico da síndrome de HELLP, que envolve hemólise, enzimas elevadas e queda na contagem de plaquetas. Além disso, notou-se correlações importantes com as manifestações neurológicas como hemorragia intracraniana, não sendo raro o acometimento cerebral. CONCLUSÃO: A gestação é um período que ocorre doenças hipertensivas de forma exclusiva e foi possível elencar variados sinais e sintomas neurológicos da síndrome HELLP, incluindo cefaléia, fotofobia, síncope e convulsões, além do quadro já característico da síndrome, além de correlações com hemorragia intracraniana, desenvolvimento de TPP e PRES.

In this article, we investigate the discursive representations on the internationalization of education by teachers of English from the Federal Network of Vocational, Scientific and Technological Education (RFEPCT) participating in the SETEC-CAPES/NOVA Continuing Education Program. Theoretical and methodological assumptions are guided by Critical Discourse Analysis (FAIRCLOUGH, 2016 [1992]; 2003) and Critical Internationalization (VAVRUS; PEKOL, 2015; STEIN, 2019), which, respectively, find points of intersection in social change through discourse as a social practice and in the principles of ethics, equity and social justice. A structured online questionnaire was applied to a group of English teachers in order to enable data generation. The responses of the participating teachers signaled representations of internationalization based on beneficial aspects of the process, showing hegemonic and counter-hegemonic discourses. The study made it possible to understand that delimiting hegemonies and counter-hegemonies in the discursive representations of the participating teachers about internationalization is a complex task, because in these representations hybrid and conflicting meanings coexist. The influence of repeated lockdowns on mental health and social isolation is unknown. We conducted a longitudinal study of the influence of repeated mild lockdowns during two emergency declarations in Japan, in May 2020 and February 2021. The analyses included 7893 people who participated in all online surveys. During repeated mild lockdowns, mental and physical symptoms decreased overall, while loneliness increased and social networks decreased. Subgroup analyses revealed that depression and suicidal ideation did not decrease only in the younger age group (aged 18–29 years) and that younger and middle-aged people (aged 18–49 years), women, people with a history of treatment for mental illness, and people who were socially disadvantaged in terms of income had higher levels of mental and physical symptoms at all survey times. Additionally, comprehensive extraction of the interaction structure between depression, demographic attributes, and psychosocial variables indicated that loneliness and social networks were most closely associated with depression. These results indicate that repeated lockdowns have cumulative negative effects on social isolation and loneliness and that susceptible populations, such as young people and those with high levels of loneliness, require special consideration during repeated lockdown situations.

O presente estudo discute a formação e a inserção de docentes na Educação Profissional e Tecnológica (EPT), a partir da constatação de que historicamente foi priorizada a formação de bacharéis. Este aspecto representa um dos desafios à expansão e consolidação da Rede Federal que requer mudanças em outros setores da arena educacional para atender às novas demandas político-pedagógicas. O artigo analisa marcos históricos decisivos para a conformação do campo, examina alguns dispositivos da legislação e da literatura educacional brasileira. Questiona-se acerca do perfil docente da EPT, constituído a partir das heranças recebidas e em confronto com necessidades do momento presente e com os novos ideais pedagógicos. Entende-se que há certo consenso em torno do distanciamento das licenciaturas em relação aos ingressantes na carreira docente na EPT e, ao final, são apresentadas nuances desse hiato, que o estudo realizado indicou ter caráter de urgência mais evidente.

Objetivou-se determinar a confiabilidade da medida angular (CMA) de agachamento profundo overhead (OHS) avaliado pela técnica de fotogrametria, determinando seu coeficiente de correlação intraclasse (CCI), bem como o respectivo erro típico (ETM) absoluto e relativo da medida. 20 indivíduos idosos fisicamente ativos realizaram 2 visitas. No primeiro encontro foram realizados a avaliação antropométrica e uma familiarização com o movimento de OHS com as mãos acima da cabeça. Na segunda visita os participantes realizaram duas execuções consecutivas do movimento de OHS com as mãos acima da cabeça, onde seguravam um bastão. As medidas foram repetidas na mesma visita. Todos os idosos foram filmados por uma câmera com capacidade de 200 quadros por segundo. A consistência interna foi realizada via fotogramétrica, junto ao software Kinóvea® de análise angular bidimensional. A CMA foi determinada a partir de um CCI, bem com o ETM absoluto e relativo. As análises do CCI apresentaram excelente associação entre a primeira medida e a segunda medida de parâmetros angulares no movimento de OHS. O ETM demonstrou baixos valores relativos de variação da medida (1,7 a 4,2%), exceto para a medida de quadril, na qual apresentou variações ±10%. Para confirmar a ausência de diferenças, um teste t dependente foi utilizado, sugerindo concordância entre as medidas (p > 0,05). A CMA de OHS para maioria das articulações investigadas, apresentou excelente CCI, bem como, baixos ETM absolutos e relativos da cinemática angular. A medida de CMA de quadril variou amplamente, mas sem diferenças significativas entre a primeira e a segunda medidas.

This study mapped and discussed works that deal with the internationalization of education in its interface with language policies, from Postgraduate Programs in Letters and Linguistics in Brazil, between 2009 and 2019. It is a state-of-the-art bibliographic research, in the Catalog Capes Theses and Dissertations (BTD) and in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). From the investigated theses and dissertations, it is possible to notice: a) the area's growing interest in these themes, affirming the inter/transdisciplinary character of language studies and the relevance of languages ​​in internationalization; b) predominance of research in the South-Southeast axis; c) focus on government programs; d) studies in the context of English and French teaching. Thus, we point out the need for studies in the context of other languages ​​and approaches, and for researches that discuss alternatives to traditional internationalization strategies and to break with hegemonic and excluding language practices. Este estudio mapeó y discutió trabajos que abordan la internacionalización de la educación en su interfaz con políticas lingüísticas, de Programas de Posgrado en Letras y Lingüística en Brasil, entre 2009 y 2019. Se trata de una investigación bibliográfica, en el Catálogo de Tesis y Disertaciones de la Capes (BTD) y en la Biblioteca Digital Brasileña de Tesis y Disertaciones (BDTD). A partir de los trabajos investigados, se percibe: a) un creciente interés del área por estos temas, afirmando el carácter inter/transdisciplinar de los estudios del lenguaje y la relevancia de las lenguas en la internacionalización; b) un predominio de investigación en el eje Sur-Sureste; c) la centralidad en programas gubernamentales; d) estudios en contexto de enseñanza de inglés y francés. Así, señalamos la necesidad de estudios en el contexto de otras lenguas y enfoques, y de investigaciones que discutan alternativas para estrategias tradicionales de internacionalización y para la ruptura de prácticas lingüísticas hegemónicas y excluyentes. Este estudo mapeou e discutiu trabalhos que tratam da internacionalização da educação na sua interface com políticas linguísticas, de Programas de Pós-Graduação em Letras e Linguística no Brasil, entre 2009 a 2019. Trata-se de pesquisa bibliográfica, no Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Capes (BTD) e na Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD). The peroxisome proliferator activated receptors (PPARs) are a superfamily of well-recognized ligand-binding nuclear receptors comprising three isoforms: PPARα, PPARγ, and PPARβ/δ. In response to endogenous lipid messengers, PPARs trigger the transcription of genes related to a wider spectrum of physiological phenomena, including fatty acid oxidation, inflammation, adipogenesis, among many others. Thus, the importance of PPARs as putative protective therapy in health issues has increased the interest of studying these nuclear receptors, including the management of neurodegenerative disorders, multiple sclerosis, and likely addiction. In recent years, several pieces of evidence from animal models have demonstrated the promising role of PPARs as a critical element for interventions in addictive behaviors by reducing the reinforcing properties of addictive substances such as alcohol. However, there is a lack of data in the scope and has so far been unexplored the function of PPARs in additional drugs such as cannabis, opioids, methamphetamine, or cocaine. A similar scenario has been found for the management of binge-type eating disorders. Thus, here we review recent advances in understanding the relevance of the PPAR controlling addiction.

The sleep-wake cycle is a complex composition of specific physiological and behavioral characteristics. In addition, neuroanatomical, neurochemical and molecular systems exerts influences in the modulation of the sleep-wake cycle. Moreover, homeostatic and circadian mechanisms interact to control the waking or sleeping states. As many other behaviors, sleep also develops pathological features that include several signs and symptoms corresponding to medical conditions known as sleep disorders.In addition to the neurobiological mechanisms modulating sleep, external elements also influence the sleep-wake cycle, including the use of Cannabis sativa (C. sativa). Introduction: Due to an increase in cases of neurological disorders refractory to conventional treatments in pediatrics patients, other therapies have been sought. Objectives: To analyze the safety and efficacy of CBD in the management of neurological disorders in children. Design and setting: A systematic review conducted at the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás. Methods: This is a systematic review carried out in PubMed, Lilacs and MedLine databases, with the descriptors: “(Pediatric OR Neurology) AND (Cannabidiol OR Cannabis)”, being selected only the randomized studies, meta-analysis and clinical trials published in the last 10 years. Results: One randomized trial concluded that daily oral CBD solution reduced the frequency of seizures in pediatric patients with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS). In addition, another study concluded that CBD (20 mg/kg/day) is associated with up to a 50% decrease in seizures in children with SLG and Dravet syndrome. Furthermore, it was pointed out that the association of oral CBD (2 to 5 mg/kg/day) with antiepileptic drugs caused a mean reduction of 36.5% of severe seizures. Finally, CBD enriched with 0.25% THC reduced spasticity, dystonia and pain intensity in children with complex motor disorder. Conclusion: CBD was shown to be safe and effective as a treatment for refractory epilepsies and complex motor disorder in pediatric patients, with no serious side effects reported.
