This paper presents a novel surrogate-based cross-correlation (SBCC) framework to improve the correlation performance for practical particle image velocimetry (PIV). The basic idea is that an optimized surrogate filter/image, replacing one raw image, will produce a more accurate and robust correlation signal. Specifically, the surrogate image is encouraged to generate a perfect Gaussian-shaped correlation map to tracking particles (PIV image pair) while producing zero responses to image noise (context images). The problem is formulated with an objective function composed of surrogate loss and consistency loss. As a result, the closed-form solution provides a multivariate operator that could consider other negative context images. Compared with state-of-the-art baseline methods (background subtraction, robust phase correlation, etc.), our SBCC method exhibits significant performance improvement (accuracy and robustness) in the synthetic dataset and several challenging experimental PIV cases. Y6-based nonfullerene organic solar cells (OSCs) have achieved an outstanding power conversion efficiency (PCE) of over 19% due to the low energy loss and high exciton dissociation efficiency with a small energy offset. However, the exciton dissociation mechanism is still under debate. It is unclear why a small energy offset can lead to efficient exciton dissociation in nonfullerene systems, but causes significant charge recombination in fullerene ones. Most of the previous theoretical studies have focused on the static properties of donor–acceptor heterojunctions, while neglecting excited electron dynamics and nonadiabatic effects. Here, we applied nonadiabatic molecular dynamics simulations to study the charge transfer dynamics in both donor:Y6 and donor:C60 crystalline systems. We found that thermal effects do not significantly influence the exciton dissociation in the NT-4T-FF:Y6 system, which aligns with experimental observations. Based on our simulations, we identified a five-step charge transfer process in nonfullerene systems. While previous studies suggested electrostatic interfacial fields from non-fullerene small molecule acceptors, our research reveals that strong donor–acceptor interactions primarily affect the local exciton states rather than the ground state. Consequently, the polarized local excitons play a key role in reducing the Coulomb attraction between electrons and holes, thus facilitating exciton dissociation with a small energy offset. In contrast, this mechanism is not observed in fullerene OSC systems. Early on, young children begin to learn the social skills which will help them navigate through an increasingly complex social world. We explored how deceiving for personal gain potentially interacts with sharing the resulting resources and how they both relate to theory of mind (ToM) and inhibitory control in 3- to 5-year-old children (N = 92, 43 girls). Children played a hide-and-seek zero-sum game in which they could win stickers if they discovered how to deceive the experimenter. Then they were prompted to share their stickers in a dictator game paradigm. Using a microgenetic design, we tracked deceptive behavior across ten sessions and sharing behavior across five of these sessions, plus a follow-up session 15 months later. Children polarized into a group who never deceived across all sessions, and a group who constantly deceived above chance levels (around 85 % of the time). Sharing behavior was extremely low (under 6 % of stickers) across the sessions. At follow-up, deceptive behavior was above 80 %, while sharing remained at a low level (under 5 %). The novelty of our findings was that children who initially discovered how to deceive shared less than the children who didn't use this deceptive strategy. Nonetheless, this pattern was reversed at follow-up. Furthermore, ToM positively predicted deceptive behavior across all sessions and improved after the microgenetic sessions but wasn't related with deception at follow-up. Implications for enabling children to deploy the growing understanding of their worlds in a more prosocial way are discussed.

ObjectiveStudies on the association between sleep behavior and health often ignored the confounding effects of biorhythm-related factors. This study aims to explore the independent and joint effects of sleep duration and sleep quality on suboptimal self-rated health (SRH) in medical students.MethodsCross-sectional study. Proportional stratified cluster sampling was used to randomly recruit students from various medical specialties at a medical university in eastern China. Our questionnaire mainly included information on basic demographic characteristics, SRH, sleep behavior, and biorhythm-related factors. The independent and joint effects of sleep duration and sleep quality on suboptimal SRH were assessed by logistic regression after controlling for potential confounders.ResultsOf 1,524 medical students (mean age = 19.9 years, SD = 1.2 years; 59.1% female), 652 (42.8%) had suboptimal SRH. Most medical students (51.5%) slept for 7 h/night, followed by ≥8 (29.1%) and ≤ 6 h (19.4%). After adjusting for basic demographic characteristics and biorhythm-related factors, compared with students who slept for ≥8 h/night, the adjusted ORs (95%CI) for those who slept 7 and ≤ 6 h/night were 1.36 (1.03, 1.81) and 2.28 (1.60, 3.26), respectively (P < 0.001 for trend); compared with those who had good sleep quality, the adjusted ORs (95%CI) for those who had fair and poor sleep quality were 4.12 (3.11, 5.45) and 11.60 (6.57, 20.46), respectively (P < 0.001 for trend). Further, compared with those who slept for ≥8 h/night and good sleep quality, those who slept ≤ 6 h and poor sleep quality had the highest odds of suboptimal SRH (OR 24.25, 95%CI 8.73, 67.34).ConclusionsShort sleep and poor sleep quality were independently and jointly associated with higher odds of suboptimal SRH among medical students.

Abstract Background Accurate diagnosis of delirium is very important for prevention and treatment. Present study was designed to validate the 3-Minute Diagnostic Interview for CAM-defined Delirium Chinese version (3D-CAM-CN) in surgical ICU patients. Methods In this prospective diagnostic study, the 3D-CAM was translated into Chinese with culture adaption. Two interviewers (Roles A and B) independently administrated 3D-CAM-CN assessment in adult patients from postoperative days 1 to day 3. At the meantime, a panel of psychiatrists diagnosed delirium according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-fifth edition as the reference standard. The sensitivity and specificity were calculated to analyze the diagnostic character of the 3D-CAM-CN. Kappa coefficient was used to evaluate interrater reliability. Results Two hundred forty-five adult patients were assessed for at least 2 days, resulting a total of 647 paired-assessments. When compared with the reference standard, the sensitivity and specificity of the 3D-CAM-CN assessment were 87.2 and 96.7%, respectively, by Role A and 84.6 and 97.4%, respectively, by Role B, with good interrater reliability (Kappa coefficient = 0.82, P

This study aimed to compare the changes in physical activity (PA), chronic disease, and mental health indicators of Koreans before and after the COVID-19 outbreak, using raw data from more than 400,000 representative samples from the 2019–2020 Community Health Survey by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and to explore the correlations among them. We used two-way ANOVA to analyze changes and differences in PA and obesity levels. We assessed the influence of gender and recurrent PA using chi-square tests for mental health status and chronic disease. Finally, we performed a correlation analysis to determine the relationships among PA days, mental health, and chronic disease. The results showed that, compared to the levels before the COVID-19 period, moderate-intensity (Days: 1.415~1.217; Time: 114.688~107.321) and high-intensity (Days: 0.798~0.671; Time: 112.866~106.110) PA significantly decreased in Koreans during the COVID-19 period, while low-intensity (Time: 60.305~61.735) PA increased. Before and during the COVID-19 period, men (18,436 (8.1%)~16,124 (7.0%)) performed PA more regularly than women (13,207 (5.8%)~9382 (4.1%)). Compared to the number of regular PA participants before the COVID-19 period, regular PA participants (male, female) decreased from 31,643 (13.8%) to 25,506 (11.1%) during the COVID-19 period. Compared with the levels before the COVID-19 period, the experience rates of stress (3.1%~2.6%), depression (0.8%~0.6%), HBP (3.0%~2.2%), and diabetes (1.2%~0.9%) significantly changed under different levels of conventional PA intervention. In addition, the obesity rate during the COVID-19 period (23.957) was higher than it was before COVID-19 (23.477). During the COVID-19 period, the PA of Koreans was greatly restricted, but low-intensity PA was maintained and increased. PA is an effective activity for maintaining mental health and for preventing and reducing chronic diseases. Recommendations for appropriate intensity or a combination of high-, moderate-, and low-intensity PA should be based on the health status of Koreans to help them maintain mental health and to reduce the risk of chronic diseases during COVID-19 social distancing.

Introduction: Despite many benefits offered by Health Information Technology (HIT) systems, new technology brings new and unforeseen risks to healthcare quality and patient safety if they're not properly planned, designed, implemented, and managed. This study examined health information technology-related (HIT) incidents to identify patient details-related issues, their association with contributing factors, and outcomes. Methods: Sources of information comprised retrospectively collected incident reports (n = 95) using two sampling methods, i.e., purposive and snowball sampling. The incident reports were analyzed using both the inductive method (thematic analysis) and the deductive approach using an existing framework, i.e., the International Classification for Patient Safety. Results: The studies identified 90 incidents with 120 patient details-related issues--categorized as either information-related (48%) or documentation-related (52%) problems; around two-thirds of the 120 issues were characterized by human factors. Of the total sample, 87 contributing factors were identified, of which "medical device/system" (45%) and "documentation" (20%) were the most common contributing factors. Of 90 incidents, more than half (59%) comprised patient-related outcomes--patient inconvenience (47%) and patient harm (12%) and the remaining 41% (n = 37) included staff or organization-related outcomes. Discussion: More than half of the incidents resulted in patient-related outcomes, namely patient inconvenience and patient harm, including disease risks, severe health deterioration, injury, and even patient death. Incidents associated with patient details can cause deleterious effects; therefore, characterizing them should be a routine part of clinical practice to improve the constantly changing healthcare system. The nanoconfinement of water can result in dramatic differences in its physical and chemical properties compared to bulk water. However, a detailed molecular-level understanding of these properties is still lacking. Vibrational spectroscopy, such as Raman and infrared, is a popular experimental tool for studying the structure and dynamics of water, and is often complemented by atomistic simulations to interpret experimental spectra, but there have been few theoretical spectroscopy studies of nanoconfined water using first-principles methods at ambient conditions, let alone under extreme pressure–temperature conditions. Here, we compute the Raman and IR spectra of water nanoconfined by graphene at ambient and extreme pressure–temperature conditions using ab initio simulations. Our results revealed alterations in the Raman stretching and low-frequency bands due to the graphene confinement. We also found spectroscopic evidence indicating that nanoconfinement considerably changes the tetrahedral hydrogen bond network, which is typically found in bulk water. Furthermore, we observed an unusual bending band in the Raman spectrum at ∼10 GPa and 1000 K, which is attributed to the unique molecular structure of confined ionic water. Additionally, we found that at ∼20 GPa and 1000 K, confined water transformed into a superionic fluid, making it challenging to identify the IR stretching band. Finally, we computed the ionic conductivity of confined water in the ionic and superionic phases. Our results highlight the efficacy of Raman and IR spectroscopy in studying the structure and dynamics of nanoconfined water in a large pressure–temperature range. This paper studied the excavation of a foundation pit above a running subway tunnel in Hangzhou soft soil. The zoned excavation and top-down construction techniques were adopted to control the deformation caused by foundation pit excavation. The excavation was divided into four parts, named Zone A, B, C, and D. Zone A adopted temporary diagonal bracing, and the control effect of deformation was poor; it was cancelled and changed to rapid excavation and thicker cushion in Zones B, C, and D. During the whole construction process, the lateral displacement and settlement of the diaphragm wall, surrounding ground surface, and building settlement were monitored and analysed. The data showed that the lateral displacement of the diaphragm wall was effectively reduced by the zoned excavation technique, and the maximum lateral displacement value of the diaphragm wall in Zone A was the least; rapid excavation and reduced soil exposure time also could effectively control the deformation, and the lateral displacement of the diaphragm wall in Zone C is less than Zone B and Zone D. The ground settlement is strongly related to the lateral displacement of the diaphragm wall. In order to reduce the surrounding ground and building settlements, efforts should be made to reduce the wall lateral displacement.

FeCrNi/CBN cored wire is prepared by use of the pull-type flux cored wire machine (FCWM50 type), FeCrNi/CBN composite coating is made by high velocity arc spraying. The special properties of the composite coating can be improved by adding Cr, Ni and small amounts of rare earth elements to adjust the coating composition. The Tribological properties of FeCrNi/CBN composite coating with high velocity arc spraying is studied. Images and components and cross-section microstructure of coatings are analyzed by means of SEM, and EDS, etc. This research indicated that FeCrNi/CBN composite coatings have typical layered structure feature and high bond strength and hardness. Friction of coatings at near room temperature or higher has “Run-up” period. With the increase of temperature, friction coefficient of coatings becomes low and wearing capacity of coatings high.
