We report a reliable and scalable fabrication method for producing electrical contacts to two-dimensional (2D) materials based on the tri-layer resist system. We demonstrate the applicability of this method in devices fabricated on epitaxial graphene on silicon carbide (epigraphene) used as a scalable 2D material platform. For epigraphene, data on nearly 70 contacts result in median values of the one-dimensional (1D) specific contact resistances pc 67 omega center dot im and follow the Landauer quantum limit pc n-1/2, consistently reaching values pc < 50 omega center dot im at high carrier densityn. As a proof of concept, we apply the same fabrication method to the transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). Our edge contacts enable MoS2 field-effect transistor (FET) behavior with an ON/OFF ratio of >106 at room temperature (>109 at cryogenic temperatures). This roundtable brought together a diverse group of participants from research and practice, representing perspectives on the digitalization of society, AI legalization, AI in education, children’s development, and children-technology relations. One focus of this roundtable was on how AI technologies impact children at an early age. In northern Europe, most children have grown up in a world that is intimately connected to technology. They have been exposed to various devices, from home computers and smart-phones to digital games and social media platforms. These technologies have provided children with pre-designed interaction possibilities that are limited to the parameters set by the designers. However, with the advent of AI-powered devices, children now have the opportunity to interact with a system that can learn by input and act as an artificial companion., This report is based on the discussions and conclusions from the CRM on the topic of AI, education and children. We present a report on hybrid InSb-Pb nanowires that combine high spin-orbit coupling with a high critical field and a large superconducting gap. Material characterization indicates the Pb layer of high crystal quality on the nanowire side facets. Hard induced superconducting gaps and gate-tunable supercurrent are observed in the hybrid nanowires. Optical anapoles are intriguing charge-current distributions characterized by a strong suppression of electromagnetic radiation. They originate from the destructive interference of the radiation produced by electric and toroidal multipoles. Although anapoles in dielectric structures have been probed and mapped with a combination of near- and far-field optical techniques, their excitation using fast electron beams has not been explored so far. Here, we theoretically and experimentally analyze the excitation of optical anapoles in tungsten disulfide (WS2) nanodisks using Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS) in Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM). We observe prominent dips in the electron energy loss spectra and associate them with the excitation of optical anapoles and anapole-exciton hybrids. We are able to map the anapoles excited in the WS2 nanodisks with subnanometer resolution and find that their excitation can be controlled by placing the electron beam at different positions on the nanodisk. Considering current research on the anapole phenomenon, we envision EELS in STEM to become a useful tool for accessing optical anapoles appearing in a variety of dielectric nanoresonators.
