The urgency of studying the issues of the development of the circular economy in the agro-industrial complex is caused by the demand for national and international food security, the importance of preserving the environment in conditions of irrational environmental management, the need to harmonise the economic, ecological and social spheres of human activity involved in the production, sale and consumption of agricultural products. The purpose of the study is to justify a comprehensive approach to the implementation of the circular economy model in the agro-industrial complex, in the context of ensuring food independence, economic security of the country and achieving the goals of sustainable development. In the course of the research the general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, statistical methods (comparison, analysis of absolute and relative values) and graphical methods were used in the evaluation of indicators of organic waste management of agricultural production, methods of a systematic approach – to justify a set of priority measures in the process of implementation of the model of circular economy in the agro-industrial complex. The information base for the research: legislative and regulatory acts; official materials of the State Statistical Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. Based on the results of the research, a comprehensive approach to the implementation of the principles of circular economy in the agro-industrial complex was formed. The key factor is an effective public policy capable of ensuring high rates of development of innovative resource-saving technologies and the introduction of circular business models. State activity includes the development of tax, credit and pricing policies to stimulate the implementation of circular economy principles. It is important to develop and approve strategic plans, legislative and regulatory acts that regulate activities in the field of circular economy and are adapted to the standards and norms of the legislation of the European Union. The activities of agricultural enterprises should be directed towards cooperation with scientific and educational institutions in order to solve the problems of introducing innovations and improving the qualifications of employees, technical and technological modernisation, establishing partnership relations with investors, raw material suppliers and local self-government bodies. Ultimately, the implementation of these measures will contribute to the growth of the competitiveness of the domestic agricultural sector, the growth of investment attractiveness and the preservation of the environment.

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a large number of diseases worldwide. There are few vaccines to constrain this disease and the value of them is high. In this sense, the antigens of the vaccine platform Soberana, the receptor binding domain from SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein, both the monomeric (mRBD) and dimeric (dRBD) forms, have been developed. This study encompassed several analyses by different techniques like circular dichroism (CD), fluorescence spectroscopy (FS) and Gel Filtration- High Performance Liquid ChLC of mRBD and dRBD. Monomer and dimer exhibited similar far-UV CD spectral characteristics with 54% of β-sheet content. Similar conformational features according to near-UV CD and FS studies were observed in both RBD. Stress stability studies by far-UV CD, FS, biological activity and GF-HPLC at 37 °C showed that mRBD is very stable. On the other hand, dRBD fluorescent emission showed a shift towards higher wavelengths as the incubation time increases, suggesting exposition of tryptophan residues, unlike what happens with mRBD. Biological activity outcome confirms these results. GF-HPLC profiles showed that in mRBD, the product of molecular stress are dimers and does not increase over time. However, dRBD showed dimer fragmentation as the main degradation species. This study reveals the usefulness of CD techniques for the analysis of degradation of RBD molecules as well as showed the difference in stability of both RBD molecules. Besides, our work provides useful insights into the production of a key protein used in diagnosis and therapeutics to fight COVID-19 pandemia.

Food-grade titanium dioxide (E171) and zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) are common food additives for human consumption. We examined multi-organ toxicity of both compounds on Wistar rats orally exposed for 90 days. Rats were divided into three groups: (1) control (saline solution), (2) E171-exposed, and (3) ZnO NPs-exposed. Histological examination was performed with hematoxylin–eosin (HE) staining and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Ceramide (Cer), 3-nitrotyrosine (NT), and lysosome-associated membrane protein 2 (LAMP-2) were detected by immunofluorescence. Relevant histological changes were observed: disorganization, inflammatory cell infiltration, and mitochondrial damage. Increased levels of Cer, NT, and LAMP-2 were observed in the liver, kidney, and brain of E171- and ZnO NPs-exposed rats, and in rat hearts exposed to ZnO NPs. E171 up-regulated Cer and NT levels in the aorta and heart, while ZnO NPs up-regulated them in the aorta. Both NPs increased LAMP-2 expression in the intestine. In conclusion, chronic oral exposure to metallic NPs causes multi-organ injury, reflecting how these food additives pose a threat to human health. Our results suggest how complex interplay between ROS, Cer, LAMP-2, and NT may modulate organ function during NP damage.

Introduction: In Cuba, cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) are very common non-communicable chronic conditions. Objectives: Characterize patients from intensive care unit with a pathological diagnosis of CVD. Methods: Observational, descriptive and transversal study in a sample of 176 patients. Variables: Age (19-39 years, 40-59 years, 60-100 years), sex, type of CVD (hemorrhagic, ischemic), APACHE II scale (= 15, > 15 score) and Glasgow coma on admission (= 8, > 8 score), mechanical ventilation (yes, no), length of stay (= 7, > 7 days) and direct cause of death. Frequencies, measures of central tendency, chi-square and Student's t tests (significance level of 5%) were calculated. Results: Hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease, male sex (52.8%) and the age group of 60-100 years (64.8%) predominated. The mean age was 63.8 years. The average value of the APACHE II and Glasgow scales was 21.6 and 6.5. 97.6% received mechanical ventilation. The mean stay was 7.0 days. Severe cerebral edema was the main cause of direct death (79.3%). Conclusions: There is a predominance of hemorrhagic CVD, in male patients, aged 60-100 years, APACHE II score > 15, Glasgow score = 8, ventilated patients, stay = 7 days and intense cerebral edema.

Objetivo: Proponer los indicadores para el monitoreo y la evaluación de la calidad de vida alcanzada. Métodos y técnicas: Materialismo dialéctico e histórico, revisión documental a partir de fuentes bibliográficas nacionales e internacionales y como técnica estadística, el análisis de regresión. Principales resultados: El establecimiento de indicadores para el monitoreo y evaluación de la calidad de vida, contribuyen a la realización de análisis que tributan a la fundamentación de decisiones con un carácter proactivo para lograr los resultados previstos en las dimensiones consideradas. Conclusiones: Los resultados alcanzados mostraron cómo definir cuáles indicadores deben ser monitoreados por su influencia en los resultados, en el caso de la Educación Infantil.

Indigenous territories cover more than one-fourth of the world’s land surface, overlap with distinct ecological areas, and harbour significant cultural and biological diversity; their stewardship provides critical contributions to livelihood, food security, conservation, and climate action. How these territories are accessed, used, and managed is an important question for owner communities, state governments, development agencies, and researchers alike. This extends to how broad community memberships remain invested in territorial use and management, with young people comprising one sub-group often underrepresented in decision-making spaces. We know that internal community norms and structures–often dominated by older, adult males–can limit opportunities for youth to contribute their energy and ideas. We also know that youth can and do leave their home communities to pursue life, work, or education goals and aspirations. Drawing on insights from 5 years of collaborative research with the Indigenous Territory of Lomerío (ITL), Bolivia, we explore the roles that youth play in territorial governance, their perceptions of current structures and novel engagement strategies, and consider what lessons from this case could be applied more broadly. Our findings point to the ITL as an instructive example of how Indigenous (and other rural and remote) communities might enable young people to participate more fully in territorial governance, highlighting the importance of an enabling, underlying socio-cultural context. Based on our work in Bolivia, and lessons from other places, we discuss ways to enhance youth-community-territory linkages to support Indigenous land sovereignty and stewardship and reflect on how research co-design and knowledge co-production can help deliver more robust, inclusive, and useful (in an applied sense) empirical insights in support of such efforts.

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo socializar un modelo pedagógico de la dinámica de superación profesional para la gestión del desarrollo local rural del profesor de Agropecuaria de los Institutos Politécnicos Agropecuarios de Montaña. Se utilizaron métodos teóricos para la fundamentación de la propuesta y la modelación en su construcción. En su estructura sistémica se determinaron cada uno de los componentes de los subsistemas y sus relaciones, con el fin de establecer la pertinencia del modelo propuesto para lograr el mejoramiento del desempeño del profesor en su vínculo con la comunidad rural.

Breast cancer (BC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide. Cyclophosphamide (CTX) remains a mainstay in cancer therapy despite harmful adverse effects and cell death-resistances. To face this, combinational therapy of chemotherapies and immunotherapies has been proposed. IMMUNEPOTENT CRP (ICRP) is an immunotherapy that has cytotoxic effects in several cancer cells without affecting peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and CD3+ cells. The aim of this study was to evaluate cytotoxicity, the type of cytotoxic effect, and several features involved in cell death induced by the combination of CTX with ICRP (ICRP+CTX) in breast cancer cells as well as their effect on healthy cells. For this purpose, human and murine breast cancer cells, MCF-7, MDA-MB-231 and 4T1, or PBMC were treated for 24 hours with ICRP, CTX or ICRP+CTX in different combination ratios for the assessment of cell death. Flow cytometry and microscopy were used to determine biochemical and morphological characteristics of cell death. Assays showed that ICRP in combination with CTX induce potentiated cell death manifested with morphological changes, loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and caspase activation. In addition, it was determined that ICRP+CTX-cell death is caspase-independent in all the breast cancer cells assessed. On the other hand, ICRP did not affect CTX-cytotoxicity in PBMC. For all the above, we can propose that the combination of ICRP with CTX an effective combination therapy, promoting their use even in tumoral cells with defects on proteins implicated in the apoptotic pathway.

Objetivo: El artículo describe un método de trabajo dirigido a la transformación de la superación profesional del equipo de asesores y supervisores de la educación primaria para el tratamiento a la inclusión socio educativa. Métodos: Se emplearon métodos de investigación como el análisis, la síntesis, el histórico, el lógico, la entrevista, la encuesta, la revisión documental y el cálculo porcentual como método estadístico descriptivo. Resultado: Propuesta de un método de trabajo dirigido a la transformación de la superación profesional del equipo de asesores y supervisores de la educación primaria, para el tratamiento a la inclusión socio educativa, caracterizado por el intercambio de los saberes aprendidos y la construcción de nuevos conocimientos habilidades, hábitos y valores. Conclusiones: La superación profesional del equipo de asesores y supervisores de educación primaria en el tratamiento a la inclusión socio educativa es un tema de amplia repercusión teórico metodológica. Sus resultados pueden ser mejorados a partir del empleo del Método de Saberes Compartidos.

Unconventional distractions such as electronic devices are stimuli that divert attention during study tasks, especially those related to scientific research exercises in undergraduate education. In the absence of precise instruments to measure this phenomenon, the objective was to adapt and validate the Scale of Distractions in Research Tasks among Peruvian university students. The study is classified as an instrumental cross-sectional design, involving 1,003 university students aged between 18 and 47 years (M = 20.93, SD = 4.30) from three regions of Peru (Coast, Highlands, and Jungle), selected through convenience sampling. Content validity was assessed using Aiken’s V coefficient, internal structure was examined through confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability was measured using the Omega coefficient. The results indicated that the judges positively evaluated the 5 items (V > 0.70), the internal structure confirmed the original model with satisfactory fit indices (χ2 (2) = 5.47, p = 0.187, CFI = 0.998, RMSEA = 0.023, and SRMR = 0.010), and the reliability was acceptable (ω = 0.86). In conclusion, the Peruvian version of the Scale of Distractions in Research Tasks has demonstrated to be a valid and reliable instrument, characterized by its brevity and a unifactorial structure.

Local electrochemical deposition is an emerging technique, used in the field of additive manufacturing. The advantage of electrochemical additive manufacturing lies in the utilization of room temperature electrolyte and permits to manufacture microscale objects with high precision. The increase in deposition current increases the deposition area, so measures are to be taken to focus the electric field. This work describes the influence of polarization curve slope on the accuracy of local deposition, both experimentally and by computer modelling. The copper was deposited using rotating anode on the surface of stainless steel from sulphate electrolyte. The influence of electrolyte composition on the accuracy of deposition was investigated. The profile of deposited parts was analyzed by profilometry and microscopy. The increased amount of sulfuric acid and presence of the additive in the electrolyte was shown to increase the accuracy of deposition by changing the slope of cathodic polarization curve from 320 to 1100 mA V–1cm–2).

Currently, therapy response cannot be accurately predicted in HER2-negative breast cancer (BC). Measuring stromal tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (sTILs) and mediators of the tumour microenvironment and characterizing tumour-infiltrating immune cells (TIICs) may improve treatment response in the neoadjuvant setting. Tumour tissue and peripheral blood samples were retrospectively collected from 118 patients, and sTILs were evaluated. Circulating exosomes and myeloid-derived suppressor cells were determined by flow cytometry. TIICs markers (CD4, CD8, CD20, CD1a, and CD68) were assessed immunohistochemically. High sTILs were significantly associated with pathological complete response (pCR; p = 0.048) and event-free survival (EFS; p = 0.027). High-CD68 cells were significantly associated with pCR in triple-negative (TN, p = 0.027) and high-CD1a cells with EFS in luminal-B (p = 0.012) BC. Cluster analyses of TIICs revealed two groups of tumours (C1 and C2) that had different immune patterns and clinical outcomes. An immunoscore based on clinicopathological variables was developed to identify high risk (C1) or low-risk (C2) patients. Additionally, cluster analyses revealed two groups of tumours for both luminal-B and TNBC. Our findings support the association of sTILs with pCR and show an immunological component in a subset of patients with HER2-negative BC. Our immunoscore may be useful for future escalation or de-escalation treatments.

Mechanisms for sectoral change in the economy are being used to move towards a circular economy. Trade in recycled raw materials could contribute to circular economy development and is treated as the main circular indicator used to monitor progress toward a circular economy. However, the research area surrounding the transition to a circular economy lacks adequate tools, as until now, the circular economy has been investigated from an evolutionary and ecological perspective. In the article, the authors conduct a study identifying important variables for trade in recycled raw materials as the main indicator of CE development. The authors propose a two-step methodology for researching the links between main trade in recyclables and circular economy indicators. The authors found correlations between trade in recyclables and private investments in circular economy sectors. The authors used panel data analysis, compiled a regression matrix, and formed a dynamic regression model. The statistical tests showed that the formed regression model has no significant autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity. The framework can be applied in practice to serve policymakers and the academic community interested in analyzing the move toward a circular economy and its main circular indicators.

Secreted protein acidic and rich in cysteine (SPARC) expression has been proposed as a prognostic and predictive biomarker for some cancer types, but knowledge about the predictive value of SPARC polymorphisms in the context of neoadjuvant therapy for breast cancer (BC) is lacking. In 132 HER2-negative BC patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, we determined polymorphisms in the SPARC gene and analyzed their association with outcome. We also determined SPARC protein expression in tumor tissue. SPARC rs19789707 was significantly associated with response to treatment according to the Miller and Payne system in the breast (multivariate: odds ratio (OR), 3.81; p = 0.028). This association was significant in the subgroup of patients with luminal tumors (univariate: p = 0.047). Regarding survival, two SPARC variants showed significant associations with event-free survival: the rs19789707 variant in the subgroup of luminal A tumors (univariate: p = 0.006), and the rs4958487 variant in the subgroup of luminal B tumors (univariate: p = 0.022). In addition, SPARC rs4958487, rs10065756, and rs12153644 were significantly correlated with SPARC protein expression. Our findings suggest that SPARC polymorphisms could be good predictors of treatment response and survival in BC patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, especially those with luminal tumors.

Motivated by a ternary generalization of the Pauli exclusion principle proposed by R. Kerner, we propose a notion of a Z3-skew-symmetric covariant SO(3)-tensor of the third order, consider it as a 3-dimensional matrix, and study the geometry of the 10-dimensional complex space of these tensors. We split this 10-dimensional space into a direct sum of two 5-dimensional subspaces by means of a primitive third-order root of unity q, and in each subspace, there is an irreducible representation of the rotation group SO(3)↪SU(5). We find two SO(3)-invariants of Z3-skew-symmetric tensors: one is the canonical Hermitian metric in five-dimensional complex vector space and the other is a quadratic form denoted by K(z,z). We study the invariant properties of K(z,z) and find its stabilizer. Making use of these invariant properties, we define an SO(3)-irreducible geometric structure on a five-dimensional complex Hermitian manifold. We study a connection on a five-dimensional complex Hermitian manifold with an SO(3)-irreducible geometric structure and find its curvature and torsion.

Abstract Purpose Cervical cancer prevention for older women can be challenging since there are no specific guidelines for this group. This study aimed to determine the incidence of oncogenic HPV and HPV-related dysplasia in elderly women 5 years after being HPV negative. Methods Invited women participated five years earlier in a study where self-sampling for HPV testing was applied, at this time, they were all HPV negative. The women were now, five years later invited to perform self-sampling for HPV testing. Women with a positive result performed a repeat HPV test. Those with a positive repeat HPV test were examined by colposcopy, biopsy and cytology. Results Of the 804 invited women, 634 (76.9%) agreed to participate in the study and a self-sampling kit was sent to them. Of these, 99.6% (632/634) sent a sample to the HPV laboratory. The participation rate in each age group was 93.3% at age 65, 74.0% at age 70, 80.7% at age 75 and 64.6% at age 80. Overall 18 women (2.8%, 95% CI 3.2 to 6.0) were HPV positive in the first test and 8 (1.3%, 95% CI 0.6 to 2.6) in the second test. Sampling for the second test was done on average 5.4 months after the first test. Fifty per cent (4/8) of the women with a positive repeat test had dysplasia in histology. Conclusion The incidence of HPV in previously HPV-negative elderly women was low. Among women who were HPV positive in a repeat test, there was a high prevalence of low grade dysplasia.

Introducción: El atractivo facial y el atractivo de la sonrisa parecen estar irmemente relacionados entre sí. Al ser la boca el centro de la comunicación en la cara, la sonrisa se torna de gran importancia en la expresión facial y la apariencia. Objetivo: Conocer la relación entre la percepción estética de la sonrisa, el sexo y las edades en la adolescencia. Métodos: Se realizó una investigación analítica, transversal en la Clínica «Victoria de Santa Clara», de este propio municipio, desde el año 2017 al 2019. El universo de estudio fueron todos los pacientes de 12 a 25 años que acudieron a la consulta de Ortodoncia en el año 2018. La muestra quedó constituida por 100 pacientes a los cuales se les aplicó un cuestionario. Se analizaron las variables: sexo, edad, consideraciones individuales de los aspectos estéticos del rostro, influencia de la sonrisa en la vida social, el rostro y los sentimientos. Resultados: Se determinó la percepción estética de los pacientes, teniendo en cuenta en el rostro de una persona, fundamentalmente la sonrisa y los ojos, para emitir juicio de valor sobre la belleza. Conclusiones: Los pacientes expresaron sus consideraciones sobre los aspectos estéticos del rostro. El sexo y los rangos de edades se relacionaron con las variables de la sonrisa estudiadas.

Introducción: En Villa Clara se establecieron indicadores de normalidad del patrón de maduración de la deglución, pero aún no han sido evaluados. Objetivo: Evaluar los indicadores de normalidad del patrón de maduración de la deglución. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal, en 107 niños en Santa Clara, desde septiembre del 2016 hasta noviembre del 2017. Se utilizó una guía de observación de la deglución para evaluar los indicadores. Resultados: El comportamiento de estos fue adecuado en 30, de los 36 niños. En el grupo de edad de 2 años y 4 meses hasta 2 años y 10 meses se observaron maduras en más de un 70 por ciento las variables: ruidos al tragar, escape de los alimentos y posición de la lengua; a los 2 años y 11 meses hasta los 3 años y 5 meses: movimientos del cuello, contracción de los maseteros y residuos de los alimentos (ante la ingesta de sólidos); y a los 3 años y 6 meses: contracción del mentón y contracción de los labios. Conclusiones: Los indicadores de normalidad del patrón de maduración de la deglución fueron evaluados como efectivos.

Objetivo: Este artículo está dirigido a la ejemplificación de actividades docentes posibles para el desarrollo del estudio independiente a partir del uso de las nuevas tecnologías en el marco de la formación inicial del profesor de inglés. Métodos: para la recolección de los datos presentados, los autores se apoyaron en métodos teóricos, particularmente en la sistematización de experiencia Resultados: El hallazgo fundamental es un sistema de procedimientos para la formación profesional del futuro profesor. Las actividades propuestas constituyen parte de estos resultados. Conclusión: Las actividades propuestas permiten al estudiante en formación trabajar de forma independiente con las nuevas tecnologías (móviles, tabletas, laptops) y adquirir un mayor nivel de desarrollo de la competencia comunicativa, en tanto se favorece la expresión a través de programas interactivos en forma variada y creativa, lo que constituye una contribución a la consolidación de los procesos de instrucción y la educación.

The comprehensive training of future professionals is a fundamental objective of Higher Education. In this sense, cooperative learning, while contributing to learning, also favors the development of social competences that promote the social cohesion of the group or class. The objective of this research is to compare two class groups of Bachelor’s degree courses in Tourism from universities in Cuba and Mexico, taking into account the social cohesion achieved from the cooperative learning experience. The Social Network Analysis method is used to obtain those indicators that show the social cohesion achieved by these class groups subject to cooperative learning practices. The results show that the Cuban class group exhibits better results with respect to Mexico. On the other hand, some elements that should continue to be worked on from this experience for the development of social competencies and to achieve greater social cohesion are evidenced. Se analizaron las políticas públicas de los municipios Holguín (Cuba) y Puebla (México) para el desarrollo del turismo sostenible. Se empleó el método comparado y el análisis comparativo cualitativo con el empleo de los datos de estudios de caso. Los hallazgos destacan la similitud en cuanto a estructura de las políticas de Holguín y Puebla, aunque también existen diferencias debido a su desarrollo socio-económico contrastante. Las principales limitaciones de la investigación se hallanen el tipo de estudio y el tamaño de la muestra escogida. La originalidad radica en el desarrollo de estudios comparados entre países que permiten integrar las experiencias en cuanto a las políticas públicas para el desarrollo del turismo sostenible y perfeccionarlas para alcanzar mejores resultados en esta importante actividad económica.

En el presente artículo analizaré el espacio en La ciudad (1970) de Mario Levrero, obra en la cual la «ciudad» y otros espacios aparecen configurados de manera atípica: sin bullicio, gente, carreteras, transporte, edificios y comercios. En consecuencia, en la novela se desfigura el paradigma de la ciudad y se construye un espacio desubicado, indefinido, oscuro, decadente, anormal y despoblado, generando incertidumbre y sinsentido. Para el análisis me apoyaré, principalmente, en la teoría del espacio de Henri Lefebvre, quien elabora la triada conceptual: el espacio percibido (físico), el espacio concebido (mental) y el espacio vivido (experiencias). De esta manera, descifraré los espacios descritos en la obra para descubrir sus símbolos, sus signos y la percepción del mundo exterior, resultado del interior, tanto del narrador como del autor, dado que el concepto de espacio implica factores culturales, sociales, psicológicos e históricos.

Las reflexiones que se presentan en este estudio están orientadas a la sistematización didáctica en la formación de docentes en servicio desde el punto de vista de los procesos que en ella intervienen, y la precisión de cómo desarrollar el proceso de asimilación en esta sistematización de forma que conlleve a la idoneidad didáctica de los docentes. Se utilizó la revisión bibliográfica y la triangulación de la información para la validación cualitativa. Como resultado del estudio se precisa que la sistematización didáctica se desarrolla a través de procesos de reflexión valorativa, de interpretación didáctica, y de socialización argumentativa valorativa.

La definición calidad de vida ha sido abordada desde diversas disciplinas, sin embargo, queda a la zaga el debate desde la Economía Política. Vista desde la disciplina Economía Política, esta categoría permite la valoración de las oportunidades que tienen los individuos a partir del tipo de relación de producción establecida y el propósito de la producción social. La intención de este ensayo es fundamentar la importancia del análisis de la definición calidad de vida en interrelación con las prioridades que sustentan las principales relaciones económicas y sociales de la construcción de la sociedad cubana actual, para lo cual se parte de tomar posiciones sobre la base de las interpretaciones y opiniones de varios autores. Las 21 definiciones de calidad de vida analizadas, aportadas por autores clásicos y contemporáneos, de procedencia nacional e internacional, publicadas en 15 fuentes (libros, artículos, tesis y otros documentos), favorecieron el estudio realizado.

Introducción: El objetivo estético fundamental en los servicios de ortodoncia es conseguir una sonrisa balanceada, pues tiene una función importante en la apariencia y expresión facial. Objetivo: Confeccionar una guía de evaluación de estética de la sonrisa a partir del diagnóstico de insuficiencias detectadas en los parámetros clínicos para ello y desde las perspectivas de la satisfacción de pacientes y profesionales de ortodoncia. Métodos: Se realizó una investigación de desarrollo tecnológico, con enfoque mixto, en la Clínica Estomatológica Docente Victoria de Santa Clara de la provincia de Villa Clara, del 2017 al 2019, en una muestra no probabilística intencional que estuvo conformada por los pacientes y ortodoncistas que cumplían los criterios de inclusión establecidos a tal efecto. Resultados: Los especialistas opinaron sobre los parámetros existentes para evaluar la sonrisa y revelaron insatisfacción con la evaluación que realizaban; además, consideraron que dicha valoración es necesaria para el diagnóstico y la planificación del tratamiento. Igualmente, se determinó la percepción estética de los pacientes. Toda esta información permitió realizar el diseño de la guía, la cual fue valorada por profesores expertos en el tema, quienes estuvieron de acuerdo con los nueve parámetros propuestos, de manera que fue aceptada para su posterior aplicación clínica. Conclusiones: La guía elaborada para evaluar la estética de la sonrisa contiene parámetros clínicos que satisfacen las necesidades de pacientes y profesionales de ortodoncia.

Background and Study Aim. Choreographic exercises for the development of flexibility are a complex component of training students of the department of folk dance in the specialty "Choreography". Among such exercises are exercises of ballet gymnastics, which take into account the specifics of mobility of the joints. The aim of the study was to identify the level of general and special mobility (“en dehors”) in students who are engaged in choreography. Material and Methods. The study involved students (n = 20) of 1 year of study in the specialty "Choreography" (Faculty of Arts, Department of Folk Dance, H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, Ukraine). The duration of the study is 6 months: from January 2020 to June 2020. The curriculum provides the study of the discipline "Gymnastics in Choreography" (1st year of study, summer semester), a total of 3 credits (including 36 classroom hours). During distance learning (from 13.03.2020 to 31.05.20) students performed a set of exercises independently. Also through video conferences Zoom with a teacher - once a week, lasting 40 minutes. Results. It was found that students of the department of folk and stage choreography mostly have higher scores. This is due to the presence and complexity of acrobatic elements that are present in folk dances. During the study, there were more significant differences between the indicators in the groups. There was a noticeable development of active flexibility in the girls of the department of folk and stage choreography. Conclusions. The used test indicators are recommended to be used in classes as control standards. The use of the author's program will ensure the development and maintenance in the proper state of the achieved level of flexibility (“en dehors”). To do this, it is necessary to adhere to the regular use of exercises, taking into account the individual capabilities and abilities of students.

Introduction: Treatment of chronic wounds is an urgent worldwide problem for medicine. Among the many efforts in wound healing techniques, photobiomodulation therapy has shown promising results. Aim: To study the effect of photobiomodulation therapy on optimisation of the regulation of reparative processes in chronic wounds by cytokines (through the example of interleukin-1β, tumour necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-6, interleukin-4, interleukin-10, and granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor). Materials and methods: The study involved 12 Wistar rats. A trophic wound was modelled in the animals. After the operation, the animals were divided into two groups of 6 animals each. The wound defects of animals in the experimental group were exposed to low-intensity laser radiation. Photobiomodulation therapy was applied once a day for 5 days, starting the day after wound modelling. The device Lika-therapist M (Ukraine) was used in a continuous mode at a wavelength of 660 nm, an output power of 50 mW, and an energy density of 1 J/cm², and 60 s exposure time. La belleza se puede definir como una combinación de cualidades que dan placer a los sentidos o a la mente. En Ortodoncia, la mayoría de los pacientes acuden a consulta para mejorar su estética. Las características faciales y esqueléticas determinan el desarrollo del patrón facial, este puede ser descrito y cuantificado y es resultado del crecimiento. Dicho aspecto, ofrece, además, las bases para el diagnóstico correcto de la anomalía dentomaxilofacial y es un requisito para lograr una estética y una función adecuadas. Se realizó un estudio de los diferentes conceptos de estética y los análisis craneofaciales tomados en cuenta a lo largo de la historia de la Ortodoncia para definir tratamientos y diagnósticos en los pacientes. Si bien existen numerosos estudios que avalan la importancia de estos datos para llegar a la armonía facial, es evidente la ausencia de un acercamiento a la realidad cubana y su diversidad de razas.

Abstract Oncogenic protein E6 from Human Papilloma Virus 16 (HPV-16) mediates the degradation of Membrane-associated guanylate kinase with inverted domain structure-1 (MAGI-1), throughout the interaction of its protein binding motif (PBM) with the Discs-large homologous regions 1 (PDZ1) domain of MAG1-1. Generic variation in the E6 gene that translates to changes in the protein’s amino acidic sequence modifies the interaction of E6 with the cellular protein MAGI-1. MAGI-1 is a scaffolding protein found at tight junctions of epithelial cells, where it interacts with a variety of proteins regulating signaling pathways. MAGI-1 is a multidomain protein containing two WW (rsp-domain-9), one guanylate kinase-like, and six PDZ domains. PDZ domains played an important role in the function of MAGI-1 and served as targets for several viral proteins including the HPV-16 E6. The aim of this work was to evaluate, with an in silico approach, employing molecular dynamics simulation and protein–protein docking, the interaction of the intragenic variants E-G350 (L83V), E-C188/G350 (E29Q/L83V), E-A176/G350 (D25N/L83V), E6-AAa (Q14H/H78Y/83V) y E6-AAc (Q14H/I27RH78Y/L83V) and E6-reference of HPV-16 with MAGI-1. We found that variants E-G350, E-C188/G350, E-A176/G350, AAa and AAc increase their affinity to our two models of MAGI-1 compared to E6-reference.

IntroductionTo determine the factors associated with interest in scientific research in dental students of six Cuban universities.MethodsThis is a multicenter cross-sectional analytical study. Interest in scientific research was the dependent variable, and it was assessed through a questionnaire proved to be reliable (Cronbach’s α = 0.88). We obtained adjusted prevalence ratios (aPR), 95% confidence intervals (95% CI), and p values through generalized linear models.ResultsA total of 587 students were part of the research, and 57.9% manifested interest in scientific research. However, when they were asked if they wanted to pursue a research career in the future, only 45.1% responded affirmatively. We found, through multivariate analysis, that there was more interest in scientific research among those who were student assistants (aPR: 2.42; 95% CI: 1.41–4.16; p = 0.001), those who had previous studies (aPR: 1.35; 95% CI: 1.02–1.79; p = 0.034), and those who had received awards in scientific events (aPR: 1.74; 95% CI: 1.26–2.41; p = 0.001). In contrast, there was less interest among those who were at the clinical stage of their career (aPR: 0.66; 95% CI: 0.49–0.89; p = 0.006), adjusted for seven variables.ConclusionsThere exists interest in scientific research and we found some factors associated with this. This has to be taken into account in order for educational institutions to generate strategies.

IgE-mediated allergic diseases have increased in the last decades. The most prevalent allergens from these seeds are Ric c1 and Ric c3, isoforms of 2S albumin. These allergenic proteins cross-react with allergens from peanut, shrimp, fish, corn, gramineous, house dust, and tobacco. The usual allergy treatment employs antihistaminic, immunotherapies and, omalizumab (Xolair)-based anti-IgE therapy. However, antihistaminics relieve symptoms, and the high cost of omalizumab limits its use for continuous treatment. We propose an alternative immunotherapeutic approach, denoted “IgE-blockage” by L-glutamic acid or modified-glutamic acid. Six compounds, D-glutamic acid, L-glutamic acid, N-methyl-L-glutamic acid, N-acetyl-L-glutamic acid, N-(4-nitrobenzoyl)-L-glutamic acid, and N-carbamyl-L-glutamic, were tested as a blocker. To evaluate motor coordination and the sedative/hypnotic activity of L-glutamic acid, a rota-rod test and a thiopental sodium-induced sleeping test were used. The compounds, L-glutamic acid and L-nitrobenzoyl glutamic acid, were the most active compounds to block the interaction of castor allergens with IgE. These compounds also prevent cross-responses with allergens from food sources and inhalants that cross-react with them. In the sleeping test, the groups that received L-glutamic acid at doses of 10 and 30 mg/kg had a sleeping time similar to the vehicle control group. No changes in the animals' behavior were observed and there was no difference between the L-glutamic acid groups and the vehicle control groups in the rota-rod test. Introduction: In Cuba thestandards of order and chronology of dental budding, used as a reference, are foreign. Objective: To describe thepatterns of theorder and chronology of outbreak of permanentdentition in Villa Clara province, Cuba. Methods: Anepidemiological and descriptivestudy of permanentdentition in Villa Clara, between 2015 and 2018 wasconducted. Bymeans of simple randommultistagesampling, a sample of 2064 girls and boysbetween 4 and 14 yearsold, born in Villa Clara, withoutalterations in general and craniofacialgrowth, wasobtained. In themtheoutbreakwasobserved and weightedaveragesforageswerecalculated. Results: Differenceswerefoundforagesaccordingto Mayoral, Moyers and Aguila. Symmetrypredominated in more than 50 % and thelowerteetheruptedbeforetheiruppercounterparts, with a frequency of 48.26 %, thelowercanineseruptedafterthelowerfirst premolar.
