Annual European Congress of Rheumatology, Madrid, SPAIN, JUN 14-17, 2017; International audience; Background Current therapeutic modalities for fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) do not provide satisfactory results to a high percentage of patients and new approaches have to be explored.Objectives This randomised, double-blind, controlled study was aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of adding a new treatment of herbal medicine, specifically developed to improve the quality of life of patients with FMS (Fib-19–01), to the current therapeutic regimen.Methods In this double-blind, placebo-controlled study, females with FMS, insufficiently improved by their current treatments, were randomised in one of the 3 following arms: Patients of arm 1 received Fib-19–01, 1 tablet twice a day. Those of arm 2 received a food supplement claimed to have analgesic properties (FSAP), in a double-blind way, and patients of arm 3 continued the previous treatment. without adding anything else (NoT). All continued the conventional treatment throughout the 6 months of follow-up. Inclusion criteria: women suffering from FMS (ACR criteria) with a Fibromyalgia Index Questionnaire FIQ >46. The primary endpoint was the change in FIQ score between baseline (Day 0) and month 6 (M6). Secondary Criteria included variation between D0 and M6 of the following scores: Pichot scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) index, SF-12 mental and social, SF-12 physical, HAD scales for depression and anxiety. Statistical analysis: Comparison intra-group (D0-M6) and intergroup on the ITT population.Results The ITT and per protocol populations were constituted of 101 and 75 patients. They were not statistically different and were in accordance with that expected (age 49, BMI 25, high percentage of antidepressant and anticonvulsant treatments). Background: This study aimed to compare the quality of life (QOL) of women with low back pain and women without low back pain during pregnancy. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study on pregnant women recruited in a hospital maternity or in primary care settings. Data collection was carried out through a self-administered questionnaire including the QOL Short Form Health Survey SF12-V2 scale. Independent sample t-tests were calculated to compare differences in QOL between women with and without low back pain. Multivariate regression models then examined the effect of low back pain on QOL, adjusting for covariate factors. Results: Among the 218 pregnant women included in the study, 137 were suffering from low back pain (LBP). The mean intensity of pain (numerical scale) in the LBP group was 5.04 ± 1.73 (range 0 to 10 for maximum pain). Among women with low back pain, 21% of them (n=29) reported having received the following treatments for their pain. There was a significant difference in the quality of life between the group of women with low back pain (LBP) and the one without low back pain (NLBP) in the areas of mental health, physical health as well as social relations. The mental health and social relationships dimensions seemed more affected than the physical scores. Conclusion: Low back pain decreased physical and psychosocial health during pregnancy. A greater support should be promoted in the medical follow-up of pregnant women with low back pain.

The aim of this review was to revisit the evaluation of risk of foetal and neonatal mortality at term. We analyse the meaning of term period and difficulty to determine the normal duration of the pregnancy. Specific complications associated with post term and the statistic approach of the perinatal risk are analysed, together with various mortality rates and especially the prospective risk introducing foetal term as a new concept. We study various aspect and evolution of non specific morbidity of the term period. An optimal decision for term management should involve pregnant women and the analysed parameters should be taken into consideration.

International audience; Objectives-To give consistent data of the prevalence of intrauterine fetal death (IUFD), toassess risk factors and causes related to IUFD, to evaluate prevention of IUFD, to evaluate fetalautopsy and MRI and to determine the management of inhibition of lactation.Methods-French and English publications were searched using PubMed, Cochrane Library.Results.-Intrauterine fetal death occurs in 2% of the pregnancies worldwide, and in around0,5% of pregnancies in France (NP1). Major risk factors related to IUFD are maternal over-weight, maternal age, and smoking, small for gestational age fetuses or placental abruption,and pre-gestational maternal diseases such as hypertension and diabetes (NP1). The most rele-vant causes of IUFD are placental anomalies, followed by abnormal karyotypes and congenitalmalformations (NP3). Data are insufficient to recommend a classification for causes of IUFD.Data concerning primary and secondary prevention do not recommend a specific managementfor the following of pregnancy. Fetal autopsy is still the gold standard of fetal examination, butfetal post-mortem MRI can be offered when fetal autopsy is refused (NP4). Inhibition of lacta-tion should be started within 24 hours postpartum with cabergoline, if the patient demands atreatment (NP4).
