Patients with Nucleophosmin (NPM)- Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) fusion positive Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma produce autoantibodies against ALK indicative of an immune response against epitopes of the chimeric fusion protein. We asked whether ALK-expression in other malignancies induces specific antibodies. Antibodies against ALK were detected in sera of one of 50 analysed ALK-expressing neuroblastoma patients, 13 of 21 ALK positive non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) patients, 13 of 22 ALK translocation-positive, but NPM-ALK-negative lymphoma patients and one of one ALK-positive rhabdomyosarcoma patient, but not in 20 healthy adults. These data suggest that boosting a pre-existent anti-ALK immune response may be more feasible for patients with ALK-positive NSCLC, lymphomas and rhabdomyosarcomas than for tumours expressing wild-type ALK.

This paper describes an application of parameter plane technique for autopilot design of flexible tactical aerospace vehicle (TAV). In literature, it is shown that parameter plane analysis simplifies the autopilot design for TAV considering rigid body dynamics only. However in the recent era, most of the TAV's are structurally flexible in nature because of high l/d ratio. This is practiced for minimizing radar cross section (RCS) to avoid detection. The flexible nature of TAV causes structural oscillations which can be stabilized using compensators. The significant contribution of this paper is development of generalized algorithm for parameter plane technique. This algorithm can be used for both rigid as well as flexible body dynamics which was not available in literature. Stabilizing techniques such as gain stabilization and phase stabilization with any compensator dynamics can be used without modifying the algorithm. Distinct region of control gains is obtained for desired stability margins using this generalized parameter plane algorithm for three loop latax autopilot with flexible body dynamics and different stabilization techniques.

The objective of this paper is to provide an analysis of some of the control techniques for autopilot design for tactical aerospace vehicles (TAV). The major contribution of this paper is to bring together few control techniques used for the design of autopilot for TAVs and assessment of the performance of the autopilots with the same airframe dynamics as comparative study. A comparative account of control methods has been presented on the basis of system performance, which will be helpful in selection of proper control. The control design and analysis has been illustrated through simulation exercise.

Since the majority of patients have unresectable disease at presentation, the emphasis has been on identifying effective chemotherapy regimens to prolong survival and control tumor burden. Gemcitabine has been the cornerstone of treatment ever since it was discovered to be an active agent in advanced pancreatic cancer nearly two decades ago, but the overall prognosis in patients with metastatic disease remains dismal. A dense fibrotic stroma around the tumor devoid of vasculature and the resultant hypoxic tumor microenvironment are implicated in the chemotherapy-resistant nature of this malignancy. In recent years, a growing body of literature has further elucidated several aspects of pancreatic tumor biology, such as its ability to utilize albumin from the peritumoral tissues to support its metabolic needs. High-pressure homogenization of paclitaxel with nanoparticle albumin results in the formation of soluble 130 nm complexes with albumin acting as the carrier for the otherwise hydrophobic paclitaxel. Once these complexes reach the tumor milieu, they act by depleting the tumor stroma. In addition, paclitaxel is also transported into the tumor cell along with albumin, where it then exerts its antineoplastic activity. Nanoparticle albumin-bound (nab)-paclitaxel also increases gemcitabine levels inside the tumor cells by inhibiting cytidine deaminase, the enzyme that degrades gemcitabine. This review focuses on proposed mechanisms of efficacy of nab-paclitaxel in pancreatic cancer and discusses the preclinical and clinical studies of relevance. Cloud computing is the use of computing resources that are delivered as a service over a network. Most of the mobile phones currently in use have less processing capability. A trivial solution to this resource poverty problem is compute offloading. Mobile clouds are not efficient with conventional internet cloud models and mobile computing approaches. The advancement in technology has made vehicles becoming more sophisticated through powerful on-board computing capabilities, tons of on-board storage, significant communication capabilities and virtually no power limitations. This paper proposes a communication mechanism for providing value added services on an opportunistically formed Stationary Vehicular Cloud by exploiting the idle vehicular resources that, now has become a thing of commonality in cities.
