A dehydrogenative functionalization of styryl carbon‐carbon double bonds with triflamide is described via dual visible‐light photoredox/cobaloxime catalysis. A range of allylic triflamides (20 examples) were isolated in moderate to good yields (up to 88%) under stoichiometric acceptorless conditions. Dedicated labelling, as well as spectroscopic experiments, enabled to shed light on the concatenated photo‐ and chemo‐catalytic cycles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Formation of Ag-Fe bimetallic clusters occurs during the oxidation of certain Ag and Fe ions. The isolobal theories and extended Huckel molecular orbital calculations help understand the reaction mechanism, the nature of bonding and the growth paths of these clusters. The bimetallic clusters possess a D4h molecular symmetry with a rhombic structure, with the four iron atoms at the vertices and the center and the mid-edges occupied by silver atoms.

A novel asymmetric nickel‐based procedure has been developed in which CO2 fixation is achieved as a second step of a truncated Heck coupling. For this, a new chiral ligand has been prepared and shown to achieve enantiomeric excesses up to 99 %. The overall process efficiently furnishes chiral 2,3‐dihydrobenzofuran‐3‐ylacetic acids, an important class of bioactive products, from easy to prepare starting materials. A combined experimental and computational effort revealed the key steps of the catalytic cycle and suggested the unexpected participation of Ni(I) species in the coupling event. Research has been conducted on the molecular sulfide clusters. The reaction between these clusters carried out in tetrahydrofuran at ambient temperature has been investigated and the results indicate that it has produced coordinatively unsaturated cubane-like cluster cation.

The TBD (1,3,5‐triazabicyclodec‐5‐ene) assisted three‐component carbonylation of pyridine‐2‐methanamines is documented by means of CO2 as a benign CO surrogate. The redox‐neutral methodology enables the realization of densely functionalized imidazo‐pyridinones in high yields (up to 93 %) and excellent chemoselectivity. The synthesis, as well as the characterization of the numerous electrochemiluminescent functionalizable cyclometalated thiophene-based iridium(III) complexes are explained. The various effects of the different substituents on the cyclic voltammetry behavior of the compounds are also explained.

The organometallic allylation of 2-pyrroleimines derived from (S)-valinol and (S)-phenylglycinol ring-closing metathesis (RCM) reaction and pyrrole ring hydrogenation are used to synthesize the N-protected 8-aminoindolizidines. The auxiliary based method starting from 2-pyrrolealdehydes could also be applied to prepare all the possible stereoisomers of amino-substituted fused bicyclic compounds containing the pyrrolidine nucleus.

New chiral chelating [C.sub.2] bis-oxazoline-amide ligands displaying a highly flexible molecular structure are prepared in high yield through a versatile synthetic pathway. Combined crystallographic, variable temperature (VT)-NMR, infrared (IR), and ESI-MS studies are carried out to investigate the nature of the 1-Pd complexes that are effective tools in controlling the stereochemcial outcome of Pd-catalyzed allylic alkylations.

The studies of the synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of the main structural and electronic properties of new mono- and dinuclear complexes in which aromatic 5-substituted tetrazolates such as [4-TBN](super -) and [BTB](super 2-) are coordinated to one or two Ru(tpy)(bpy) units are reported. This highlights rather good luminescence efficiency and a poor bridge-mediated electronic communication between the metal centers of the dinuclear complexes.
