Recently, many studies are based on the study of innate immunity genes, namely the role of TLRs in the development of various diseases. Severe burn injury is characterized by the development of hyperimmune reactions, which further leads to the development of multiple organ complications and sepsis. The aim of our study was to identify the frequency and prognostic value of polymorphism of TLR-2 Arg753Gln and TLR-4 Thr399 Ile genes and their role in the development of sepsis and MOD in children with severe burns. Materials and methods: genetic analysis of TLR-2 Arg 753 Gln and TLR-4 Thr399 Ile gene polymorphisms was performed in children with severe and extremely severe burns (n ​​= 22) who were treated in the anesthesiology department with intensive care beds. Results: as a result of the obtained data, the heterozygous genotype TLR-2 Arg 753 Gln was detected in 69.5% (n = 16), in 31.8% (n = 7) patients with burn injury polymorphism was not detected. In 13.6% (n = 3) cases, polymorphism was associated with sepsis and MOD. Sepsis and normal homozygous genotype were diagnosed in 4.5% (n = 1). Heterozygous genotype TLR-4 Thr399 Ile was observed in 18.2% (n = 4) patients, of which only 4.5% (n = 1) patients had polymorphism associated with sepsis and MOD. Analysis of the association of TLR 2 genotypes and markers of acute inflammation revealed statistically significant differences between the heterozygous TLR 2 Arg 753 Gln genotype and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in the blood of patients on day 3 of burn disease. Conclusions: The study of the role of innate immune system genes is promising in predicting the development of sepsis and complications in severe burns and requires further careful study.

Background: The effect of loading rate on the fracture properties of materials had been the subject of interest for more than four decades. However, the effect of loading rates on Mixed-mode fracture, involving Modes I and III, is known little due to the complexity of loading conditions and the inertia effect at a high loading rate. Objective: The main objective is to develop a framework to investigate the relationship between loading rate and fracture parameter under Mixed-mode (I/III) loading conditions using a novel laboratory setup. Methods: Experimentally, a modified spiral Notched specimen, stereo-digital image correlation, and a torsional Hopkinson bar apparatus are employed to characterize the dynamic fracture response of materials subjected to a combined torsion and tension loading. Specimens with different gauge lengths were used to generate low, intermediate, and high loading rates associated with Mixed-mode (I/III) notch tip conditions. Numerically, finite element analyses were performed to calculate the dynamic stress intensity factor using the dynamic interaction integral approach. Results: The fracture initiation time was seen to be related to the spiral angle. It was found that the Mixed-mode fracture initiation toughness increase with the loading rate. For Aluminum 2024-T3, the dynamic fracture initiation toughness under Mode-III is threefold smaller than the Mode-I condition. Conclusions: The proposed approach, dynamic tension–torsion loading of a spirally notched specimen, successfully generates a range of loading rates on Mixed-mode fracture involving Modes I and III conditions. The dynamic integral method was effectively used to extract fracture parameters at different loading rates and conditions. YBa2Cu3O7−δ (YBCO) thin films with the addition of Cl were prepared on Hastelloy tape by the extremely low fluorine metal-organic deposition (MOD) technique. The composition and microstructure of the present samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was revealed that the Cl-added YBCO thin films achieved better texture and density compared with the pure YBCO films. The superconducting properties at magnetic fields were measured using the magnetic property measurement system (MPMS). The results showed that the sample onset transition temperature (Tc, on) did not change significantly after the addition of Cl. The critical current density (Jc) in the presence of YBCO with the addition of Cl increased significantly. Meanwhile, both the Jc and gravitational force (Fp) of the (Cl, Hf) co-added YBCO films were further enhanced at different magnetic fields. The thermodynamic analysis of the BaCO3 removal reaction revealed that the addition of Cl to YBCO formed chlorine compounds, which were effective in avoiding the formation of BaCO3. Further, the calculation results of the Gibbs free energy at different pressure quotients showed that the stability of the relevant chlorine compounds occurred in the order of BaCl2 > CuCl2 > YCl3 and the oxidation of BaCl2 to BaO required a higher temperature compared to BaF2, implying the potential advantages of inhibiting the a-axis growth.

Metal object detection (MOD) and detection of position (DoP) of pick‐up coils are increasingly critical to the commercialisation of the wireless power transfer system. In this study, a detection scheme based on phase‐detection, which can both realise the function of MOD and DoP, is newly introduced. The method is based on the principle that the presence of metal objects and pick‐up coils both affect the impedance phase of the detection coil loop. Comparing with the traditional detection methods, which is based on measuring the absolutely value of impedance in detection loop, the malfunction is avoided by adopting phase difference as the criterion of the existence of metal objects and pick‐up coils. An inexpensive and high‐precision sensing circuit is newly designed to acquire the phase difference accurately. Simulation models and experiments are conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed detection scheme. The Δδ of the detection coil circuit with a coin placed reaches −5.17, while the Δδ of other detection coils without metal objects keeps zero. In the meantime, the position of the pick‐up coil is identified because the Δδ of these detection coils closer to the centre of the pick‐up coil varies more significantly while other coils vary slightly. YBa2Cu3O7-x precursor film prepared by metal-organic deposition method was sintered and oxygenated at 800 °C and 450 °C, respectively. The dynamic in situ resistance data in the sintering process of film was recorded, and the phase composition and transformation of YBa2Cu3O7-x precursor film in treating stages were discussed. In the heating stage of 710–795 °C, the film resistance increased with temperature, which may be explained by that the grains grew larger and internal gaps formed. The tetragonal YBa2Cu3O7-x shows good conductivity at 77–270 K. When temperature ranged from 450 to 800 °C, the tetragonal YBa2Cu3O7-x became very sensitive to oxygen, and the film resistance dropped sharply once oxygen entered. The scanning electron microscope images showed that the oxygen infiltration at 800 °C was more contributing to grain fusion and connectivity. The X-ray diffraction patterns of samples with oxygen infiltration at 800 °C exhibited that the phase transformation to YBa2Cu3O7-x was more fully. The R-T curve and I-V curve were measured by the four-probe method, the transition temperature Tc are 89.8 K and 93.4 K, and the critical current densities Jc are 0.32MA/cm2 and 0.89MA/cm2 (77 K, 0 T) respectively. Tc and Jc curves illustrated that the samples had higher superconductivity, compared with those experienced oxygen infiltrations at 450 °C. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A main purpose of network security is to secure the system and its element parts from illegal access and misuse. Distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack is a crucial risk to the internet. A source traceback is a technology to control each and every computer crime. A feasible DDoS attack source traceback technique based on marking on demand (MOD) scheme is proposed to detect computer attack by using multiple packets for marking coding. In this proposed scheme, the MOD scheme is based on the deterministic multiple packet marking mechanism. Depending upon this finding, the proposed technique basically addresses the scalability issue of existing deterministic packet marking-based traceback schemes and perhaps to traceback to the individual cooperated computers more willingly than the present defined routers of attacking computers. Also, this technique is used to identify the malicious users who form the volume of traffic necessary to reject a service to computer user. To traceback the engaged attack source, there is a need to mark these engaged ingress routers by deterministic multiple packet marking mechanism. Simultaneously, the MOD server reports information of the marks and their connected requesting IP addresses. Once DDoS attack is proved, the victim will acquire attack sources through requesting MOD server by marks refined from attack packets. The confirmed DDoS attack is identified when it is higher than the tested threshold value. In this study, a mathematical model is established to prove the efficiency of the proposed source traceback technique in both real-world experiments and theoretical analysis. The paper presents the maintenance of the buildings property of MOD and BA. In perspective, the maintenance of a building can increase the efficiency level significantly, as well as part of it being given under rent to generate income for the budget of MOD. Comparative price analysis of different options and suboptions for thermal insulation of Vasil Levski National Military University Headquarters has been made and the most cost-effective option has been determined.

Öz: Bu çalışma mantık kurallarına uygun doğru bir kıyas kurmayı ve kıyasları birinci şekle hızlı ve doğru bir şekilde ircâ etmeyi sağlayacak geometrik bir yöntem önerisi getirmektedir. Bu yöntem bir kare içine çizilen ikinci bir karenin oluşturduğu dört dik üçgenin, kıyasın dört şekline karşılık gelmesine dayanır. Bu üçgenlerin dik açılı köşelerinde orta terim, dikey kenarlarında küçük terim ve küçük öncül, yatay kenarlarında ise büyük terim ve büyük öncül yer alır. Önermeleri gösteren oklar üzerinde tikel olumlu için bir, tümel olumsuz için iki, tikel olumsuz için üç kısa çizgi bulunur. Sonuç ise küçük terimden büyük terime olacak şekilde dikey kenardan yatay kenara uzanan çapraz bir okla gösterilir. Bu yöntemle her şekilden kıyas çok kolay ve hızlı bir şekilde gösterilebilir ve herhangi bir kıyasın kurulabileceği diğer mümkün modlar rahatlıkla görülür. Ayrıca kıyasların ircâ işlemi de kıyasın genel kuralları ile birinci şeklin iki kuralı ve bu şekle ait modların geometrik görünümlerinden başka bir bilgiye ihtiyaç duymadan kolayca yapılabilir. Özet: Esas gayesi zihni düşünme sırasında hataya düşmekten korumak olan mantık ilmi açısından akıl yürütme çeşitleri arasında kıyasın ayrı bir önemi vardır. Mantıkçıların en çok üzerinde durdukları kıyas türü ise yüklemli kesin kıyastır ve kıyas denilince genellikle bu kastedilir. Kıyasta öncüller arasındaki bağlantıyı sağlayan orta terim öncüllerde konu ve yüklem olarak bulunabilir ama sonuçta yer almaz. Kıyas buna uygun olarak şekil adı verilen dört biçimde ifade edilir. Bu biçimler orta terimin küçük önermede yüklem büyük önermede konu olduğu birinci şekil, orta terimin her iki önermede yüklem olduğu ikinci şekil ve her iki önermede konu olduğu üçüncü şekil ile orta terimin büyük önermede yüklem küçük önermede konu olduğu dördüncü şekil kıyaslardır. Her şekil öncüller ve sonucun nitelik ve niceliğine göre mod adı verilen kıyas biçimlerini içerir. Bu kıyasların kıyasla ilgili genel ve her kıyas şekline ait özel şartlara uygun olması gerekir. Bu uygunluğu taşımayan kıyaslar geçersiz kabul edilir. Söz konusu kurallar dikkate alındığında muhtemel altmış dört kıyastan sadece on dokuz tanesi geçerli sonuç verir. Bu on dokuz kıyas modundan dört tanesi birinci, dört tanesi ikinci, altı tanesi üçüncü, beş tanesi ise dördüncü şekle aittir. Birinci şekil; tümel ve tikel ile olumlu ve olumsuz dört önerme türünün hepsini sonuç olarak vermesi, tümel olumlu sonuç veren tek kıyas olması, kavranmasında başka bir delile ihtiyaç duyulmaması ve insan zihnine en yakın kıyas şekli olması sebebiyle mükemmel şekil olarak kabul edilmiştir. Geçerli bir kıyas kurmak, kıyasların modlarını bulmak, orta terimi ve öncülleri doğru olarak tespit etmek, kıyas kurallarına riayet edilip edilmediğini kontrol etmek ve bir kıyasın geçerli olup olmadığına doğru olarak hükmetmek kıyaslarla uzun süre meşgul olmayı gerektirir. Birinci şekil ile aynı yetkinlikte olmayan ikinci, üçüncü ve dördüncü şekil kıyasların geçerli olduklarının kontrolü ve ispatı onları birinci şekildeki belli bir kıyas formunda ifade etmek yani bu kıyasları birinci şekilden belli bir moda ircâ etmekle olur. Öncüllerinden biri hazfedilmiş ve kıyas formunda ifade edilmemiş olmakla birlikte bir kıyasın sonuç önermesi olduğu anlaşılan cümlelerdeki kıyasın modunu bulmak ve böyle bir kıyası birinci şekle ircâ etmek söz konusu olduğunda ise durum biraz daha zorlaşır. İrcâ işlemi sadece geçerli olan bir kıyasın geçerliliğini göstermek için değil yanlış kıyasların geçersizliğini göstermek için de kullanılan bir yöntemdir. Genellikle öncüllerin döndürülmesi, öncüllerin yer değiştirmesi ve saçmaya götürme olarak üç çeşidinden söz edilen ircâ işlemini doğru bir şekilde yapabilmek için her modun adını, onda yer alan ve ircâ işleminin nasıl yapılacağını gösteren harflerin ne anlama geldiğini bilmek gerekir. Bu geçerli kıyas modları irca edilirken böyledir. Ne var ki geçersiz bir kıyasın, geçerli modlarda olduğu gibi kendisine verilmiş bilinen bir adı olmadığından geçersizliği ispat edilirken nasıl ircâ edileceğinin elbette yine belli bir yolu olsa da böyle harflere bakarak takip edilecek bir yöntemi yoktur. Bu makale bu husustaki zorluğu ortadan kaldıran bir ircâ yöntemi sunmaktadır. Bu geometrik ircâ metodu, geçerli olanlar kadar geçersiz kıyasların da kolaylıkla ircâ edilebilmesini sağlamaktadır. Kıyasların geometrik yöntemle gösterilmesi kıyastaki terimleri, öncülleri tespit etmekte; kıyasın genel ve şekillerin özel şartlarına riayet edilip edilmediğini anlamakta ve elde edilen sonuçların doğruluklarını, kurulan kıyasların geçerliliklerini ispat etmek için kıyasları birinci şekle ircâ etmekte kullanılabilecek oldukça etkili ve kolay bir yöntemdir. Kıyas şekillerini venn şemalarıyla gösterimine dair daha önce yapılmış çalışmalar olsa da bunlar daha çok kıyastaki akıl yürütmenin geometrik bir gösterimiyle sınırlıdır. Bu çalışmada önerilen metot ise salt bir gösterimden çok daha fazla imkânlar sunan ayrıca mantıkla geometri arasındaki ilişkiye dair işaretler de içeren yeni bir yöntemdir. Bu yöntem bir karenin kenar ortaylarının birleşmesiyle oluşan ikinci bir karenin meydana getirdiği dört dik kenar üçgenin sırasıyla kıyasın dört şekline tekabül etmesine dayanır. Bu kare sol alt köşeden yukarı ve sağa doğru uzatılan okların her kesişim noktasında yenilenerek ikinci şeklin orta teriminin bulunduğu köşede buluşmasıyla çizilir. Her şekildeki orta terim karenin bir köşesinde yer alır. Dikey kenarlar küçük önermeyi, yatay kenarlar büyük önermeyi gösterir. Üçgende hipotenüse denk gelen kenar ise sonuç önermesidir. Önermeleri gösteren oklar üzerinde tikel olumlu için bir, tümel olumsuz için iki, tikel olumsuz önerme için üç çentik bulunur. Sonuç önermesini gösteren ok üzerinde gerektiğinde bu işaretler yine yer alır. Böylece şekillerin ve modların geometrik gösterimi elde edilmiş olur. İrcâ edilecek kıyas birinci şekle göre çizildiğinde gerekli döndürmeler veya yer değiştirmeler kendiliğinden yapılmış olur. Ayrıca geçerli ya da geçersiz olsun her kıyas birinci şeklin geometrik görünümüne çevrildiğinde kıyas ve önermelerle ilgili temel kurallara aykırı bir durum oluşması durumunda bu kendiliğinden görünür ve kıyasın geçersizliği hemen anlaşılır. Dolayısıyla bu yöntem ile herhangi bir kıyas, modlarının isimlerini bilmeye ve mnemonic harfleri takip etmeye gerek kalmadan hızlı, kolay ve doğru bir şekilde ircâ edilebilir.

• YBCO Low-F/YBCO F-Free composites have been fabricated by solution deposition method. • The effective F diffusion may tune the F and C residues of YBCO film. • This novel and simple process can improve the texture and J c of YBCO film. Trifluoroacetate metal organic deposition (TFA-MOD) with low fluorine contents would bring benefits for the environment and the epitaxial growth of YBa 2 Cu 3 O y (YBCO) film. In this paper, a simple and effective method which could tune the fluorine content and improve the performance of YBCO film was reported. YBCO Low-Fluorine/YBCO Fluorine-Free composites were prepared on LaAlO 3 single crystal substrate. During the pyrolysis process, the fluorine would diffuse across the interface of YBCO Low-Fluorine/YBCO Fluorine-Free composites. Both the fluorine in the YBCO Low-Fluorine and the carbon in the YBCO Fluorine-Free could be reduced. It could significantly improve the epitaxial growth and performance of YBCO film. To prevent photocorrosion of a Cu2O photocathode, composition of a TiO2 layer onto the Cu2O is one of the most effective solutions. For crystallization of the TiO2 layer alone without heat‐damage to the underlying Cu2O layer, which is easy to oxidize to CuO, we developed the integration process of O2‐plasma and an excimer‐laser irradiation, that a metal‐organic precursor film is crystalized by irradiation of the excimer‐laser in O2‐plasma. The TiO2 layer could be crystalized with lower oxygen vacancies by the laser irradiation in O2‐plasma compared to that prepared by the irradiation in air. Furthermore, the oxidation of Cu2O to CuO was drastically restricted due to the highly crystalized TiO2 in which oxygen ions were hard to diffuse to the interface of TiO2/Cu2O. The photocorrosion of the obtained film during water reduction reaction was also restricted. This O2‐plasma integrated process is effective for selective crystallization of metal‐oxide films for functionalization of photoelectrodes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

• α-Al 2 O 3 and α-Al 2 O 3 /Cr 2 O 3 tritium permeation barriers can be prepared by the metal organic decomposition (MOD) method. • The nanohardness and corrossion resistance of α-Al 2 O 3 MOD coatings are improved by a Cr 2 O 3 buffer. • An Al 2 O 3 MOD single layer tends to perform lower deuterium permeability at higher temperature. Four kinds of well-crystallized tritium permeation barrier coatings, including γ-Al 2 O 3 , α-Al 2 O 3 , γ-Al 2 O 3 /Cr 2 O 3 and α-Al 2 O 3 /Cr 2 O 3 , were prepared by the metal organic decomposition (MOD) method using a dipping technique. In this study, we concentrated on the preparation and properties of α-Al 2 O 3 and α-Al 2 O 3 /Cr 2 O 3 double-layer coatings. The results showed that the α-Al 2 O 3 coating exhibited a pure phase structure, which was entirely and directly transformed from the γ-Al 2 O 3 at an annealing temperature of 1000 °C, and no obvious substrate oxides were formed. An unannealed Cr 2 O 3 MOD layer with a thickness of 0.8 μm featured higher crystallization and was taken as a buffer layer. However, the template effect of Cr 2 O 3 was not obvious because the formation temperature of the α-Al 2 O 3 did not decrease. The corrosion resistance (1.068 × 10−7 A/cm2) and nanohardness (18.49 GPa) of the α-Al 2 O 3 /Cr 2 O 3 double-layer coating improved compared to those of γ-Al 2 O 3 , α-Al 2 O 3 , and γ-Al 2 O 3 /Cr 2 O 3 coatings. In contrast, the deuterium permeation test showed that the α-Al 2 O 3 MOD coating had the lowest deuterium ion current at temperatures of 400 ˜ 600 °C of the films considered in this study, demonstrating better resistance to deuterium permeation. The crystallization and magnetic behavior of yttrium iron garnet (YIG) prepared by metallo-organic decomposition (MOD) method are discussed. The chemistry and physics related to synthesis of iron and yttrium carboxylates based on 2-ethylhexanoic acid (2EHA) are studied, since no literature was found which elucidates synthesis of metallo-organic precursor of YIG in spite of the literatures of doped YIG samples such as Bi-YIG. Typically, the metal carboxylates used in preparation of ceramic oxide materials are 2-ethylhexanoate (2EH) solvents. Herein, the synthesis, thermal behavior and solubility of yttrium and iron 2EH used in synthesis of YIG powder by MOD are reported. The crystallization and magnetic parameters, including saturation magnetization and coercivity of these samples, smoothly change as a function of the annealing temperature. It is observed that high sintering temperature of 1 3 0 0 ∘ C to 1 4 0 0 ∘ C promotes the diffraction peaks of YIG, therefore, we can conclude that the formation of YIG in MOD method increases the crystallization temperature. The maximum value of saturation magnetization and minimum value of coercivity and remanence are observed for the sample sintered at 1 2 0 0 ∘ C which are 13.7 emu/g, 10.38 Oe and 1.5 emu/g, respectively. Abstract The pyrochemical reprocessing faces challenges in the selection of suitable materials for the fabrication of the container in electro-refining process. Yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) coating was considered as a promising material in this application, but the performance of YSZ coating in NaCl-KCl molten salt must be improved. In the present work, metal-organic decomposition (MOD) method was put forward to deposit an Al 2 O 3 overlay on the top surface of sprayed YSZ coating. The corrosion behavior of the YSZ coatings with and without Al 2 O 3 overlay in molten NaCl-KCl eutectic salt was investigated by immersion test. The results showed that the sprayed YSZ coating suffered severe corrosion and a NiO corrosion product formed on the coating surface. Meanwhile, a transformation of ZrO 2 from a non-transformable tetragonal (t′) phase to a monoclinic (m) phase emerged. In contrast, the surface morphology of the YSZ coating with Al 2 O 3 overlay remained almost unchanged. No corrosion product or new phase was formed. These results proved that the Al 2 O 3 overlay prepared by the MOD method can significantly improve the corrosion resistance of YSZ coating. In this article, the antibacterial properties enriched bentonite Tam Bo deposit, Lam Dong Province (Vietnam) modified in various ways: alkali – by processing enriched bentonite LiOH solution at a temperature of 60°C for 30 min, brine – by processing enriched bentonite, 3% solution of Na2CO3 at 55°C for 30 min, and nanoparticles of silver – silver nanoparticles by immobilizing on the surface of the bentonite by precipitation of silver nanoparticles AgNO3 solution. Initially, the bentonite clay deposits Tam Bo contains 40 – 60 wt% of active sorptionmontmorillonite. Enrichment, followed by modifying the content of montmorillonite can increase up to 70 – 80 wt. %. The modification allows the bentonite increase in its physical-chemical and colloid-chemical characteristics to 2 – 3 times, such as degree of swelling, the specific surface area, cation exchange capacity. The experimental data showed that the bentonite modified with silver nanoparticles can effectively inhibit the growth of opportunistic pathogens like Enterococcus feacalis, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aerugenosa, Salmonella typhimurium, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans. Modification of bentonite clay and montmorillonite crystal lattice is included in its composition with silver nanoparticles allows increasing the bactericidal activity against aflatoxin to 65 times.

The present work includes studying the kinetics of the adsorptionof two sugars (maltose and glucose)on activated carbon (GAC) and comparison between them. These sugars are used as draw solution in the forward osmosis process in MOD-SET system(manipulated osmosis desalination system, MOD combined with solute exchange technique, SET). In this work, batch experiment in a stirred tank was carried out to study kinetics adsorption. The experiment was carried out using HPLC to determine the concentrations of sucrose and maltosebefore and after adsorption. The kinetic models used are pseudo-first order, pseudo-second order, intraparticle diffusion and mass transfer model. The findings indicates that sucrose and maltose sorption onto GAC are both well represented by the pseudo second order model.

The Institute of Military History of the Hungarian Ministry of Defence decided in 2000 to try to find the marked or unmarked graves of Hungarian soldiers killed in World War II. Joining this initiative, Jozsef Patakv founded the Committee for the Preservation of Military Traditions from Turda (THHB). Among other things, the aim of establishing the Committee was to discover the identity of the Hungarian soldiers that died in action in the fall of 1944 in Torda (in Romanian: Turda: in the followings, we will use the traditionally Hungarian name of the town: Torda) and its surroundings, find the location where they were buried, and erect a worthy monument to their memory. A Hungarian Soldier Graveyard was created within the Central Hungarian Cemetery of Torda, which has since become a place of pilgrimage. In addition, more then fifty sites of Hungarian soldiers’ graves were discovered and in most of the cases properly marked since that time. In 2012, Jozsef Patakv was awarded the Hungarian Gold Cross by the Ministry of Defence for his untiring work to discover the places of burial and identify Hungarian soldiers that died in WWII, and for worthily keeping their memories alive.

Ag-doped GdBa2Cu3O7−δ (GdBCO)-coated conductors are fabricated via a metal-organic process. The X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy results show that the growth conditions of the GdBa2Cu3O7−δ matrix are modified, resulting in less a-axis growth and much smoother surface morphology and finally giving rise to much improvement of superconducting performance in a wide range of processing parameters. The orientation behavior and mechanism of Ag-doped GdBCO films are investigated. To reasonably explain the orientation behavior of Ag-doped GdBCO films, a simple nucleation model for Ag-doped GdBCO is established, suggesting quasi-liquid phases are perfected by Ag. As a consequence, a-axis nucleation is suppressed and strong c-axis nucleation is achieved in a wider processing window. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The emergence and formation of British working-class youth cultures in the 1960s were characterized by an ambivalent relationship between British identity, global culture and the formation of a multicultural society in the post-war decades. While national and local newspapers mostly reported on racial tensions and racially-motivated violence, culminating in the Notting Hill riots of 1958, the relationship between London's white working-class youth and teenagers with migration backgrounds was also shaped by a reciprocal, direct and indirect, personal and cultural exchange based on social interaction and local conditions. Starting from the Notting Hill Riots 1958, the article reconstructs places and cultural spheres of interaction between white working-class youth and teenagers from Caribbean communities in London in the 1960s. Following debates and discussions on race relations and the participation of black youth in the social life of London in the 1960s, the article shows that British working-class youth culture was affected in various ways by the processes of migration. By dealing with the multicultural dimension of the post-war metropolis, white working-class teenagers negotiated socio-economic as well as political changes, contributing in the process to an emergent, new image of post-imperial Britain.
