Raman scattering is strongly influenced by the presence of vibrational modes that are normal to the metal surface attributed to an exceptionally large electromagnetic field. Slotwaveguides, on the other hand, tightly confine light in a low refractive index region of subwavelength scale. In this work, we report an efficient and easy method to further enhance the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) with silver nanoparticles in a slot waveguide. The action of SERS with silver nanoparticles is theoretically investigated. The tremendous potential for practical applications of this structure in biochemical sensing with an outstanding sensitivity has been demonstrated by a notable enhancement of field $(EF\approx 10^{10})$.
