Among the various types of cancer, lung cancer is the second most-diagnosed cancer worldwide. The kinesin spindle protein, Eg5, is a vital protein behind bipolar mitotic spindle establishment and maintenance during mitosis. Eg5 has been reported to contribute to cancer cell migration and angiogenesis impairment and has no role in resting, non-dividing cells. Thus, it could be considered as a vital target against several cancers, such as renal cancer, lung cancer, urothelial carcinoma, prostate cancer, squamous cell carcinoma, etc. In recent years, fungal secondary metabolites from the Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) have been identified as an important lead source in the drug development pipeline. Therefore, the present study aims to identify potential mycotic secondary metabolites against the Eg5 protein by applying integrated machine learning, chemoinformatics based in silico-screening methods and molecular dynamic simulation targeting lung cancer. Initially, a library of 1830 mycotic secondary metabolites was screened by a predictive machine-learning model developed based on the random forest algorithm with high sensitivity (1) and an ROC area of 0.99. Further, 319 out of 1830 compounds screened with active potential by the model were evaluated for their drug-likeness properties by applying four filters simultaneously, viz., Lipinski’s rule, CMC-50 like rule, Veber rule, and Ghose filter. A total of 13 compounds passed from all the above filters were considered for molecular docking, functional group analysis, and cell line cytotoxicity prediction. Finally, four hit mycotic secondary metabolites found in fungi from the IHR were screened viz., (−)-Cochlactone-A, Phelligridin C, Sterenin E, and Cyathusal A. All compounds have efficient binding potential with Eg5, containing functional groups like aromatic rings, rings, carboxylic acid esters, and carbonyl and with cell line cytotoxicity against lung cancer cell lines, namely, MCF-7, NCI-H226, NCI-H522, A549, and NCI H187. Further, the molecular dynamics simulation study confirms the docked complex rigidity and stability by exploring root mean square deviations, root mean square fluctuations, and radius of gyration analysis from 100 ns simulation trajectories. The screened compounds could be used further to develop effective drugs against lung and other types of cancer.

Background: Renal disease is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in populations with HIV infection. Widespread use of combination antiretroviral therapy has altered the spectrum of renal disease. Studies among the HIV affected population in India are few. Objectives: The study was carried out to determine the various histopathological lesions in HIV patients with renal dysfunction, undergoing a renal biopsy, and to establish the clinico-pathological correlation. Patients and Methods: Thirty HIV-positive patients, diagnosed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method according to the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) guidelines, undergoing a renal biopsy for renal dysfunction were studied. Descriptive statistics were applied. Results: Rather than the classic human immunodeficiency virus associated nephropathy (HIVAN) or a few prototypical lesions, the cases were spread across the entire spectrum of glomerular and tubulointerstitial pathologies described in the HIV population. A higher proportion of diabetic nephropathy, IgA nephropathy and chronic interstitial nephritis were encountered in the present study. Conclusions: In the present scenario of increasing incidence of HIV infection, studying its various manifestations are relevant. As none of the clinical or laboratory variables are found to predict glomerular versus non-glomerular lesions on biopsy, a renal biopsy is indicated in renal dysfunction associated with HIV, to make an accurate diagnosis and for therapy.

In the present paper, the flow of an incompressible, electrically conducting dusty fluid over a stretching sheet is considered. The Cattaneo- Christov heat flux theory is employed to control the thermal boundary layer. The flow equations are transformed into nonlinear ordinary differential equations (NODEs) and which are solved with help of Runge-Kutta 4th order method. Flow equations are examined with respect to boundary conditions namely prescribed wall temperature (PWT) and prescribed heat flux (PHF) cases. In general PWT and PHF boundary conditions are very useful in the industrial as well as manufacturing up and down processes. Impact of the emerging parameters on the dimensionless velocity and temperature as well as friction coefficient and local Nusselt number are examined. We also validated my results with already available literature. It is found that the heat transfer rate of the flow in PWT case is higher than that of PHF case. These results can help us to conclude that for higher heating processes (Heating industries) PWT case and lesser heating processes (Cooling industries) PHF boundary condition is useful.

A Comprehensive study on laminar, magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) boundary layer flow of nanofluid (water + Silver, water + Graphene) embedded with conducting micrometer sized dust particles over a stretching cylinder with the incorporation of Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model is conducted. Appropriate similarity variables are employed to the flow governing equations and the resulting ordinary differential equations are solved by employing Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg method. The results for varied controlling parameters for both dusty nano fluid and dust phase are shown through graphs, table and discussed in detail. Authentication of the obtained results is provided by comparing with published results. Results indicate that Graphene + water dusty nanofluid shows better heat transfer performance compared with Silver + water dusty nanofluid. Improvement in thermal relaxation boosts temperature distribution in both fluid and dust phase. This is a theoretical study of unsteady nonlinear convection on magnetohydrodynamic fluid in a suspension of dust and graphene nanoparticles. For boosting the heat transport phenomena we consider the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux and thermal radiation. Dispersal of graphene nanoparticles in dusty fluids finds applications in biocompatibility, bio-imaging, biosensors, detection and cancer treatment, in monitoring stem cells differentiation etc. Initially the simulation is performed by amalgamation of dust (micron size) and nanoparticles into base fluid. Primarily existing partial differential system (PDEs) is changed to ordinary differential system (ODEs) with the support of usual similarity transformations. Consequently, the highly nonlinear ODEs are solved numerically through Runge-Kutta and Shooting method. The computational results for Non-dimensional temperature and velocity profiles are offered through graphs (ϕ=0 and ϕ=0.05) cases. Additionally, the numerical values of friction factor and heat transfer rate are tabulated numerically for various physical parameters obtained. We also validated the current outcomes with previously available study and found to be extremely acceptable. From this study we conclude that in the presence of nanofluid heat transfer rate and temperature distribution is higher compared to micro fluid. Using artificial intelligence (AI) based software defect prediction (SDP) techniques in the software development process helps isolate defective software modules, count the number of software defects, and identify risky code changes. However, software development teams are unaware of SDP and do not have easy access to relevant models and techniques. The major reason for this problem seems to be the fragmentation of SDP research and SDP practice. To unify SDP research and practice this article introduces a cloud-based, global, unified AI framework for SDP called DePaaS—Defects Prediction as a Service. The article describes the usage context, use cases and detailed architecture of DePaaS and presents the first response of the industry practitioners to DePaaS. In a first of its kind survey, the article captures practitioner’s belief into SDP and ability of DePaaS to solve some of the known challenges of the field of software defect prediction. This article also provides a novel process for SDP, detailed description of the structure and behaviour of DePaaS architecture components, six best SDP models offered by DePaaS, a description of algorithms that recommend SDP models, feature sets and tunable parameters, and a rich set of challenges to build, use and sustain DePaaS. With the contributions of this article, SDP research and practice could be unified enabling building and using more pragmatic defect prediction models leading to increase in the efficiency of software testing.

Fermented persimmon juice, Kakishibu, has traditionally been used for wood and paper protection. This protective effect stems at least partially from inhibition of microbial cellulose degrading enzymes. The inhibitory effect of Kakishibu on lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) and on a cocktail of cellulose hydrolases was studied, using three different cellulosic substrates. Dose dependent inhibition of LPMO activity by a commercial Kakishibu product was assessed for the well-characterized LPMO from Thermoascus aurantiacus TaAA9A, and the inhibitory effect was confirmed on five additional microbial LPMOs. The model tannin compound, tannic acid exhibited a similar inhibitory effect on TaAA9A as Kakishibu. It was further shown that both polyethylene glycol and tannase can alleviate the inhibitory effect of Kakishibu and tannic acid, indicating a likely mechanism of inhibition caused by unspecific tannin–protein interactions.

Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) is characterized by episodes of intravascular hemolysis, infections, and thromboembolic complications. Renal abnormalities are rare which occur either due to hemolytic crisis or repeated thrombotic episodes involving small venules. Acute kidney injury (AKI) requiring hemodialysis due to toxic effects of hemoglobinuria, with a stable disease is exceptional. We describe a case of an elderly gentleman presenting with features of severe AKI requiring hemodialysis due to hemosiderin tubulotoxicity as the first manifestation of PNH. The diagnosis was challenging because of the rarity and unfamiliarity with this entity. The outcome was complete recovery of renal function with hemodialysis.

Background: Current KDIGO guidelines suggest corticosteroids (CS) administration in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) with persistent proteinuria >1 g/d despite 3-6 months of supportive care and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) >50 mL/min/1.73 m2 . The benefits of CS in patients with eGFR 50 mL/min/1.73 m2 . Patients and Methods: A cohort of biopsy proven primary IgAN diagnosed between March 2010 - February 2015 who received oral CS with minimum follow-up of 6 months were included. They were categorized into two groups according to their eGFR (group 1 - eGFR 50 mL/min/1.73 m2 ). The eGFR and urine protein creatinine ratio (UPCR) were followed up at entry, 6 months, 12 months and at the end of follow-up. Outcomes studied were change in eGFR, proteinuria and progression to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Results: Out of 44 patients, 23 were in group1 and 21 patients in group 2. At the end of follow-up, similar reduction of proteinuria (UPCR) was observed in both groups (P=0.62). However, group 1 had a significant fall in eGFR compared to improvement in group 2 (P=0.004). One in each group has reached CKD stage 5 (P=0.73). Conclusions: Addition of CS to conservative treatment in IgAN patients with initial eGFR50 mL/min/1.73 m2 ).

UV-B illumination facilitates aggregation of alpha-lactalbumin (α-LA) by intramolecular disulfide bond cleavage followed by intermolecular thiol-disulfide exchange reactions. However, long term exposure to UV-B illumination may induce undesired oxidative modifications of amino acid residues in the protein. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of UV-induced aggregation of apo-α-LA (a calcium-depleted form of α-LA) under aerobic and anaerobic conditions and by addition of tryptophan (Trp) as a photosensitizer. The addition of Trp to apo-α-LA illuminated under anaerobic conditions facilitated the highest level of free thiol release and disulfide-mediated aggregation as compared to without addition of Trp under both anaerobic and aerobic conditions. Addition of Trp under aerobic condition resulted in the lowest level of free thiols and disulfide-mediated aggregation and the aerobic conditions caused oxidation of the free Trp with formation of kynurenine and 5-hydroxy-Trp. Minor levels of the Trp oxidation product, 3-hydroxy-kynurenine (2% converted from Trp), was formed in apo-α-LA with added Trp under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions after UV-B treatment.

Nephrotic syndrome is associated with an increased risk of thromboembolism. Pulmonary thromboembolism has been described in nephrotic syndrome with or without deep vein thrombosis. In this case report, we describe an unusual first presentation of childhood membranous nephropathy with massive pulmonary thrombus with pulmonary infarction with right renal vein thrombosis.

Heat and mass flux conditions on magnetohydrodynamic unsteady Eyring-Powell dusty nanofluid over a sheet is addressed. The combined effect of Brownian motion and thermophoresis in nanofluid modeling are retained. The Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model is imposed. A set of similarity variables are utilized to form ordinary differential system from the prevailing partial differential equations. The problem of ordinary differential system (ODS) is analyzed numerically through Runge-Kutta based shooting method. Graphical results of pertinent parameters on the velocity, temperature and nanoparticle concentration are studied. Skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt and Sherwood number are also addressed with help of graphs and also validated the present solutions with already existing solutions in the form of table. It is found that the thermal relaxation parameter improves the heat transfer rate and minimizes the mass transfer rate. The heat transfer rate is higher in prescribed heat flux (PHF) case when compared with prescribed wall temperature (PWT) case.

The classification of dysfluencies is one of the important steps in objective measurement of stuttering disorder. In this work, the focus is on investigating the applicability of automatic speaker recognition (ASR) method for stuttering dysfluency recognition. The system designed for this particular task relies on the Gaussian mixture model (GMM), which is the most widely used probabilistic modeling technique in ASR. The GMM parameters are estimated from Mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCCs). This statistical speaker-modeling technique represents the fundamental characteristic sounds of speech signal. Using this model, we build a dysfluency recognizer that is capable of recognizing dysfluencies irrespective of a person as well as what is being said. The performance of the system is evaluated for different types of dysfluencies such as syllable repetition, word repetition, prolongation, and interjection using speech samples from the University College London Archive of Stuttered Speech (UCLASS).

Abstrak_ Pelestarian lingkungan hendaknya merupakan salah satu pertimbangan utama dalam merancang suatu bangunan. Konsep arsitektur hijau merupakan salah satu cara pendekatan dalam merancang aktifitas atau kegiatan pada gedung Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia atau yang biasa disingkat menjadi KONI. KONI sebagai suatu organisasi memiliki struktur organisasi yang mengatur berbagai kegiatan olahraga yang ada di Indonesia, selain itu juga KONI bertugas untuk mengembangkan minat dan bakat olahraga yang ada pada masyarakat Indonesia . Gedung baru KONI nantinya diharapkan menjadi suatu wadah untuk berbagai persatuan olahraga yang ada di Indonesia sekaligus mendukung aktivitas-aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh KONI, baik itu kegiatan organisasi maupun kegiatan pembinaan sekaligus pelatihan olahraga. KONI as an organization has an organizational structure that regulates various sports activities in Indonesia, in addition KONI is also tasked to develop the interest and talent of sports that exist in Indonesian society. KONI new building will be expected to be a container for various sports unity in Indonesia as well as support activities undertaken by KONI, whether it's organizational activities and coaching activities as well as sports training. Purpose: Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) is an emerging technique aiming to improve upon the diagnostic sensitivity of prostate biopsy. Because of variance in interpretation and application of techniques, results may vary. There is likely a learning curve to establish consistent reporting of mpMRI. This study aims to review current literature supporting the diagnostic utility of mpMRI when compared with radical prostatectomy (RP) and template transperineal biopsy (TTPB) specimens. Methods: MEDLINE and PubMed database searches were conducted identifying relevant literature related to comparison of mpMRI with RP or TTPB histology. Results: Data suggest that compared with RP and TTPB specimens, the sensitivity of mpMRI for prostate cancer (PCa) detection is 80–90% and the specificity for suspicious lesions is between 50% and 90%. Conclusions: mpMRI has an increasing role for PCa diagnosis, staging, and directing management toward improving patient outcomes. Its sensitivity and specificity when compared with RP and TTPB specimens are less than what some expect, possibly reflecting a learning curve for the technique of mpMRI.

The present work involves extraction of phytochemicals from the root bark of a well-known Indian traditional medicinal plant, viz. Mammea suriga, with various solvents and evaluation of their in vitro antimicrobial and antioxidant activities using standard methods. The phytochemical analysis indicates the presence of some interesting secondary metabolites like flavonoids, cardiac glycosides, alkaloids, saponins and tannins in the extracts. Also, the solvent extracts displayed promising antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Cryptococcus neoformans with inhibition zone in a range of 20â33 mm. Further, results of their antioxidant screening revealed that aqueous extract (with IC50 values of 111.51±1.03 and 31.05±0.92 μg/mL in total reducing power assay and DPHH radical scavenging assay, respectively) and ethanolic extract (with IC50 values of 128.00±1.01 and 33.25±0.89 μg/mL in total reducing power assay and DPHH radical scavenging assay, respectively) were better antioxidants than standard ascorbic acid. Interestingly, FT-IR analysis of each extract established the presence of various biologically active functional groups in it. Development of new materials in place of existing traditional metals and alloys to meet specific requirements is taking place worldwide. Natural fibre reinforced composites are being considered as one of the alternative materials which can find scope in indoor and low load bearing applications. The biodegradability and low density make them attractive, while inherent hydrophilic nature of the fibre is a challenge for the engineering applications. Surface modification to the fibres by chemical treatments makes them as an alternative reinforcement material in the field of composites. In the present work, Grewia Serrulata bast fibres were subjected to chemical treatments and stitched into unidirectional woven fabrics. Treated and untreated fibre reinforced laminates were fabricated by hand layup process. Sliding wear behaviour of the prepared specimens was studied as per ASTM G-99. Materials with relatively lower wear rate are preferred for the tribological applications. The study shows that acetylated Grewia Serrulata fibre reinforced and permanganate treated fibre reinforced polyester samples showed significant wear resistance compared to neat resin and untreated fibre reinforced specimens.

We report a rare case of primary renal allograft dysfunction due to myeloma cast nephropathy in a patient with no overt clinical features of multiple myeloma preceding his transplantation. A 45-year-old man on hemodialysis for six months for end-stage kidney disease due to presumed chronic glomerulonephritis developed immediate graft dysfunction post-transplantation. The graft biopsy was diagnostic of myeloma cast nephropathy. Other criteria for lambda light chain multiple myeloma were fulfilled with immunofixation electrophoresis and bone marrow biopsy. He was treated with plasmapheresis, bortezomib and high-dose dexamethasone. However, the patient succumbed to septicemia on the 37 th post-operative day. This is probably the first report of primary renal allograft dysfunction due to myeloma cast nephropathy diagnosed within the first week posttransplanation in a patient with unrecognized multiple myeloma.

The SILAR deposited CdS films were incorporated with various concentrations of zinc using zinc acetate and zinc chloride precursors. The presence of zinc was found to alter the crystal structure and energy bandgap of the films. The bandgap increased by nearly 44% with the increase of zinc concentration in the films. The photoluminescence spectra of the films revealed the presence of several localized defects levels within the forbidden bandgap. The peak spectral response wavelength was found to vary from 500 nm to 400 nm with the increase of zinc. The photocurrent was found to increase with the Cd:Zn ratio. The films with relatively high concentrations of zinc were found to be better suited for the photodetector applications due to their higher photocurrent to dark current ratio.

Background/Aim: It has recently been reported that treatment with pentoxifylline, an inhibitor of tumour necrosis factor, improves survival in severe alcoholic hepatitis. The present study was initiated to test the hypothesis that pentoxifylline improves short term survival in patients with acute alcoholic hepatitis in Indian scenario. Materials and Methods: Single center prospective observational study. We evaluated patients diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis who were admitted to our hospitals from September 2008 to September 2010. Patients with history of chronic alcohol intake or a recent alcoholic binge, Jaundice and one or more of the following clinical and laboratory findings: palpable tender hepatomegaly, Leucocytosis, hepatic encephalopathy and AST:ALT ratio>2 with absolute values of AST < 500 IU/L and ALT < 200 IU/L were included in the study. Patients with gastrointestinal hemorrhage and other possible causes of hepatitis were excluded. Results: Twenty of the 49 patients were treated with pentoxifylline. Pentoxyfylline treatment did not affect mortality significantly (p=0.081). However, treatment with pentoxyfylline in those with severe alcoholic hepatitis with DF≥32, MELD score≥21 and GAHS ≥9 significantly reduced mortality (p=0.037, 0.025, 0.001 respectively). Baseline bilirubin, creatinine, urea, MELD score and GAHS were significantly high among the patients who succumbed to the disease as compared to those who survived. Conclusion: Patients with severe alcoholic hepatitis (Maddrey’s discriminant function ≥32; or MELD score ≥21: or GAHS ≥9), can be treated with pentoxifylline, as it is safe, economical, and appears to be useful in improving short term mortality, especially in the Indian scenario

Collagen type III is a normal component of interstitium and blood vessels. Collagenofibrotic glomerulopathy (CG) and nail patella syndrome (NPS) are the diseases of abnormal type III collagen deposition. In spite of these curved frayed structures with a periodicity of 45-60 nm are deposited in subendothelium and mesangium in CG, they are found only in the basement membrane in NPS. The clinical features of CG are confined to the kidney, NPS has associated extra-renal manifestations. Electron microscopy is essential to make the renal diagnosis in both these rare diseases. Both the entities considered to be systemic diseases evidence to suggest similar deposition in other organs, understanding etiopathogenesis and disease progression await research.

This study aims to characterize the antigenicity of the Capsid (C) protein and the human antibody responses to C protein from the four dengue virus (DENV) serotypes. Parker hydrophilicity prediction, Emini surface accessibility prediction and Karplus & Schulz flexibility predictions were used to bioinformatically characterize antigenicity. The human antibody response to C protein was assessed by ELISA using immune sera and an array of overlapping DENV2 C peptides. DENV2 C protein peptides P1 (located on C protein at 2-18 a.a), P11 (79-95 a.a) and P12 (86-101 a.a) were recognized by most individuals exposed to infections with only one of the 4 DENV serotypes as well as people exposed to infections with two serotypes. These conserved peptide epitopes are located on the amino (1-40 a.a) and carboxy (70-100 a.a) terminal regions of C protein, which were predicted to be antigenic using different bioinformatic tools. DENV2 C peptide P6 (39-56 a.a) was recognized by all individuals exposed to DENV2 infections, some individuals exposed to DENV4 infections and none of the individuals exposed to DENV1 or 3 infections. Thus, unlike C peptides P1, P11 and P12, which contain epitopes, recognized by DENV serotype cross-reactive antibodies, DENV2 peptide P6 contains an epitope that is preferentially recognized by antibodies in people exposed to this serotype compared to other serotypes. We discuss our results in the context of the known structure of C protein and recent work on the human B-cell response to DENV infection.

Background: Human Immunodeficiency Virusinfected women account for almost half the number of cases of HIV worldwide. Despite reduction in HIV prevalence among the population, the percentage of Indian women contracting the disease seems to have increased. The social implications are also different in females. Materials and Methods: This prospective observational study was conducted from September 2009 to July 2011 at tertiary care hospitals attached to the Kasturba Medical College Mangalore, on a group of 200 HIV-positive patients. Patients above 18 years of age diagnosed with HIV as per National AIDS Control Organisation guidelines were included in the study. Clinical profile among women and men was compared with respect to clinical presentation, disease detection, CD4 count and response of family and society. Results: Clinical presentation was similar among both men and women. Eighty-one percent men had promiscual sexual exposure, 19% of women had so. Males were identified to be HIV-positive earlier than their spouse (tested later), time lag being 27.6 weeks. After detection of positivity 77% of females felt being less cared for by the in-laws. CD4 count less than 50 was detected in more number of females as compared to men (11% females and 1% males). Death of spouse was seen more often in females (among 35% of women and 11% of men). Conclusion: Most of the females were likely to acquire infection from their spouse. Females tend to seek and get medical attention at the late stage of disease as compared to men. HIV in females has different social implications which includes discrimination within the family.

Introduction: Bone tunnel enlargement after Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (ACL-R) is a well-accepted phenomenon but there are very few published data comparing the extent of tunnel widening by various methods of fixation after ACL-R. Aim: To compare the femoral and tibial tunnel widening following ACL-R with different methods of fixation using CT scan. Materials and Methods: This one year prospective study included all patients with chronic Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury who underwent primary arthroscopic ACL-R using tripled hamstring tendon autograft. The graft was fixed to the tibial tunnel by Interference Screw (IFS) or Suture Disc (SD) and to the femoral tunnel by IFS, SD, Cross-Pin (CP) or Endobutton CL (Smith & Nephew). The widening of the tibial and femoral tunnels in different methods of fixation was assessed by Computed Tomography (CT) at 12 months follow-up; and was compared using paired sample test. Results: A total of 63 patients were included in the study of which 58 (92%) were males and 5 (8%) were females, with a mean age of 29.1 ± 5.9 years. Introduction: Traumatic injuries of the spine and spinal cord are potentially devastating as they may lead to significant neurological damage as the clinical and prognostic spectrum of the effects of spinal injuries is vast. Timely imaging studies can help mitigate these possibly life threatening complications. There is a dearth of studies that directly compare MR imaging findings to surgical findings. Aim: Hence, this study was undertaken to assess the sensitivity of MRI in identifying injuries to the soft tissue structures of the spine. Materials and Methods: MRI scans were performed on 31 cases of acute spinal injuries that presented within 72 hours of the trauma and underwent surgical fixation by either an anterior or posterior approach. The non-osseous structures namely; Anterior Longitudinal Ligament (ALL), Posterior Longitudinal Ligament (PLL), Intervertebral Disc, Ligamentum Flavum, Interspinous Ligament (ISP) and the Spinal Cord were evaluated. They were classified as ‘True Positive’ if an injury was found to correlate with intraoperative findings and as ‘False Negative’ when diagnosed falsely as normal. The statistical sensitivity of MRI in diagnosing injuries to the non-osseous structures of the spine were thus calculated. Results: Of the 31 patients, in 51.6% of patients the site of injury was to the cervical spine (n=16), thoracic spine was the next highest in occurrence of 39% (n=12) and lumbar spine accounted for the least. In correlating the imaging findings to the intraoperative findings, MRI was highly sensitive in detecting injuries to the Posterior Longitudinal Ligament (94.4%) and the Spinal cord (93%) and fairly high in detecting injuries to the Intervertebral disc. However coming to the ligamentum flavum and interspinous ligaments, the sensitivity of the MRI dropped to 62.5% and 63.6% respectively. Conclusion: MRI was found to be highly sensitive in detecting injuries to the spinal cord and the posterior longitudinal ligament and moderately sensitive for detection of disc injuries. Though concerning the Anterior Longitudinal Ligament, Ligamentum Flavum and the Interspinous Ligaments MRI performed ineffectively with higher number of false negative interpretations.

Although the number of students in higher education institutions (HEIs) has increased over the past two decades, it is far from assured that all students will gain an academic degree. To that end, institutional analytics (IA) can offer insights to support strategic planning with the aim of reducing dropout and therefore of minimizing its negative impact (e.g., on students, academic stakeholders, and institutions). However, it is not clear how institutional stakeholders can integrate IA in their practice to overcome academic-related issues and to offer support to students who struggle to achieve their academic goals. To address this gap, we conducted focus groups with 13 institutional stakeholders of an Estonian university. By analyzing the focus group data, we identified three main categories of factors influencing dropout from the perspective of institutional stakeholders: (1) institutional experience, (2) educational goals, and (3) personal aspects. We discuss our findings from an institutional perspective with the aim of reflecting on institutional processes, organizational structures, and facilitatory roles in the context of dropout in higher education (HE). We argue that IA can provide insights into students' institutional experience, educational goals, and personal aspects to further support decision-making on the institutional level. We envision our findings contributing to a participatory agenda for the design, implementation, and integration of IA solutions focusing on addressing dropout in HE.
