El hiperparatiroidismo primario es una entidad rara en la infancia. La forma neonatal se produce por hiperplasia de las glándulas paratiroides. En el resto de edades pediátricas las formas esporádicas se deben principalmente a adenomas y las familiares a hiperplasia. Los adenomas se presentan generalmente en adolescentes. En el caso que se describe, un adenoma de paratiroides fue extirpado en una niña de 11 años con antecedente de hipercalcemia esporádica desde los 5,5 años de edad, descubierta en una analítica y sin presentar síntomas ni complicaciones debidas a ella. Los estudios de imagen preoperatorios, entre ellos la gammagrafía con 99mTc-sestabimi, localizaron la lesión y la intervención normalizó la calcemia. El adenoma de paratiroides se presenta también en la edad preescolar y su diagóstico puede demorarse por la ausencia de síntomas. : Primary hyperparathyroidism in children is rare. The neonatal form involves hyperplasia of the parathyroid glands. In older children sporadic forms are usually due to an adenoma and familial forms are generally due to hyperplasia. Adenoma usually presents in adolescents. In the case presented herein, a parathyroid adenoma was excised from an 11-year-old girl with a history of sporadic hypercalcemia from the age of 5.5 years. The disease was discovered in serum chemistry and the patient presented no symptoms or conditions associated with hypercalcemia. Diagnosis was by preoperative imaging studies including 99mTc-sestabimi and surgical intervention stabilized calcium levels. Parathyroid adenoma occurs in pre-school age children and its diagnosis may be delayed because of the absence of symptoms.

This paper studies a tuned version of an induction tree which is used for automatic detection of lexical word category. The database used to train the tree has several fields to describe Spanish words morpho-syntactically. All the processing is performed using only the information of the word and its actual sentence. It will be shown here that this kind of induction is good enough to perform the linguistic categorization.

This paper studies the influence of social, cultural and emotional background of typical Web users into the web searching process. Several variables, describing such aspects, are represented and statistically analyzed with well known clustering and classifying algorithms such, as COBWEB, J48, Bayes classification, and Correspondence analysis. Results indicate that the efficiency of the complete process of Information Retrieval will not be fully understood without considering subjectivity and personality facts.

In this paper, the contradiction and ambiguity problems in Natural language Processing are briefly introduced. We also present the morpho-syntactic WIH (Web Intelligent Handler) prototype and the overall approach it takes to process any Spanish text. Finally, we analyze how it processes Spanish sentences with contradictions or ambiguities using its own perspective, despite deeper linguistic considerations.

This paper presents a metric to be used by the working prototype WIH (Web Intelligent Handler). This metric (referred here as po) is designed to reflect main topic words and discriminate certain text profiles through word weightings. The actual version is designed only for Spanish web texts. Statistical analyses show that it is possible to differentiate text profiles upon po behavior. A poll is presented also, showing that it is a good main words discriminator. This paper is posted here as a new algorithm useful for Spanish text processing.

Square-wave adsorptive-stripping voltammetry technique has been used to develop a method for the determination of fenthion in olive oil. Due to the fact that fenthion does not give any electrochemical signal at mercury electrode, the method has been based on a previous oxidation of fenthion to its metabolite, fenthion-sulfoxide, by using KMnO 4 . The metabolite gives rise to a peak due to an adsorptive-reductive process at −0.786 V. Fenthion is isolated from olive oil by carrying out a solid–liquid extraction procedure using silica cartridge, followed by a liquid–liquid partitioning with acetonitrile. The detection limit in olive oil is 78.8 ng g −1 and recoveries for four levels of fortification are ranged from 85% to 109%. On the other hand, it has been developed a method for the simultaneous determination of fenthion and its metabolite fenthion-sulfoxide, in river water. Pesticides are isolated from water by carrying out a liquid–liquid partitioning with trichloromethane. The detection limits are 0.41 ng g −1 and 0.44 ng g −1 , for fenthion and fenthion-sulfoxide, respectively. Recoveries for three levels of fortification are ranged from 96% to 103% for fenthion and 94% to 104% for fenthion-sulfoxide.

197 Presentamos el caso de una mujer de 60 anos, con antecedentes de hipertension arterial y diabetes mellitus tipo 2 que acudio a la consulta de preanestesia para ser intervenida de exeresis de un lipoma en el brazo izquierdo. En la radiografia de torax (Figura 1) se observo de forma casual una imagen nodular en zona paracardiaca superior derecha. Al comentar el hallazgo con la paciente, declaro que presentaba disfagia desde hacia dos o tres meses pero que hasta el momento no le habia dado importancia y no habia consultado a ningun medico. Se realizo una tomografia computarizada toracica que evidencio un aneurisma en la arteria subclavia derecha de aproximadamente 6x6x6 cm (Figuras 2 y 3). Se remitio a la paciente al Servicio de Cirugia Vascular que tras arteriografia diagnostica decidio necesario proceder a la colocacion de una endoprotesis vascular. La Sociedad Espanola de Anestesiologia, Reanimacion y Terapia del Dolor (SEDAR) aconseja la realizacion de una radiografia de torax preoperatoriamente en pacientes ASA I por encima de 65 anos, obesos y siempre que existan antecedentes de enfermedad pulmonar, o sean fumadores de mas de 20 cigarrillos al dia, y pese a ello generalmente presenta una escasa repercusion en el manejo clinico posterior. No siempre nuestros pacientes son conscientes de la trascendencia de los sintomas que presentan, pudiendo llegar a obviarlos cuando realizamos la anamnesis, por lo que es necesaria una cuidadosa evaluacion de las pruebas complementarias que solicitamos, pese a que su rendimiento a priori sea escaso. Next generation of fusion power plants needs to develop joining technologies for several components of the reactor. In this paper, a novel brazing process for joining two pieces of divertor component made of tungsten is proposed. A flexible tape, fabricated of a mixture of 86Fe-14Ti metallic powders and an organic binder, has been used as filler material. Different binder contents (from 5 up to 30 wt.%), which provides the required flexibility to the filler tape for its fitting to the divertor curved surface, have been evaluated. The proposed flexible filler tape will improve the brazing procedure, but also it could be implemented for any curved component of the power generation industry. Two fillers contents (95/5 and 90/10 powder/binder ratios) have been used for brazing tests that were carried out in a high vacuum furnace at 1350 °C for 10 min. W-W brazed joints exhibited high continuity along the joint and no wetting problems were detected. The microhardness tests gave rise to similar values and revealed that the mechanical properties of tungsten base material were not modified during the brazing cycle. The shear strength of the joints (~44 MPa) meets the mechanical requirements of the component. Keywords: Tungsten, Brazing, Fusion reactor, Joining, Plasma facing component
