Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka vilken uppfattning chefer inom offentlig verksamhet har om kvalitetsarbete och hur chefer inom offentlig verksamhet anser att de gör sina medarbetare delaktiga i verksamhetens kvalitetsarbete. Kvalitetsarbete ses idag som en väl integrerad del i de flesta verksamheter, offentliga som privata. Utgångspunkter i studien är Total quality managment (TQM) och transformativt ledarskap. TQM är ett arbetssätt för kvalitetsarbete vilket är omfattande och bygger på en helhet med fokus på kvalitet från hela organisationen. Flera forskare förespråkar delaktighet som en viktig del i kvalitetsarbete. Vägen till kvalitet och medarbetarnas delaktighet i kvalitetsarbetets kantas av utmaningar. Förutsättningarna i en organisation, specifikt inom offentlig verksamhet är varierande och begränsande. Studien är en kvalitativ studie. Som kvalitativ metod har författarna genomfört semistrukturerade intervjuer med enhetschefer inom offentlig sektor som respondenter. Författarna har använt sig av ett målstyrt urval. Resultatet visar att kvalitetsarbetet anses viktigt men också svårt då en hel del av de aktiviteter som ingår resulterar i administrativa uppgifter istället för kvalitetsutveckling. Ett närvarande ledarskap är en framgångsfaktor gällande skapandet av medarbetarnas delaktighet i kvalitetsarbetet.

Syftet med studien var att studera föreställningar om fängelsedömda hos arbetsgivare samt vilka faktorer som upplevdes påverka anställningsbarheten. Genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med sex arbetsgivare fann vi att fängelsedömda primärt beskrevs utifrån två kategorier; de anställningsbara och de icke anställningsbara. De faktorer som påverkar anställningsbarheten handlade främst om vilken brottstyp som föranlett fängelsedomen och de risker som upplevdes medfölja denna brottstyp. För att gardera sig mot dessa risker ansågs belastningsregistret vara ett värdefullt verktyg. Samtidigt framhävdes att utdrag ur belastningsregistret kan innebära svårigheter för fängelsedömda att återanpassas till samhället. Det som dock påverkade anställningsbarheten i störst utsträckning var huruvida arbetsgivarna upplevde att de fick en god uppfattning om och kände förtroende för individen. Vidare framkom att föreställningar om kvinnor i fängelse skiljer sig från generella föreställningar om fängelsedömda (i huvudsak män). Detta berodde på att kvinnor i fängelse i mycket högre utsträckning sågs som offer snarare än förövare., The aim of the study was to examine employers’ perceptions of prisoners and the factors that were perceived to affect employability. Using semistructured interviews with six employers we found that prisoners were primarily described through one of the two following categories; the employable and the non-employable. The factors affecting employability concerned the type of offense that had led to the prison sentence and the risks that were perceived to accompany this type of offense. To handle these risks, access to criminal history records was considered a valuable tool. At the same time, it was emphasized that easily accessible criminal history records may cause difficulties for ex-prisoners to readapt into society. However, what affected the employability the most was whether or not employers had confidence in the individual and if the person had made a good impression. Furthermore, it emerged that perceptions of women in prison differ from the perceptions about prisoners (mainly men). This was because women in prison were seen as victims rather than perpetrators.

Flow cytometry is a powerful method for quantitative and qualitative analysis of individual cells. However, flow cytometric analysis of extracellular vesicles (EVs), and the proteins present on their surfaces has been hampered by the small size of the EVs - in particular for the smallest EVs, which can be as little as 40 nm in diameter, the limited number of antigens present, and their low refractive index. We addressed these limitations for detection and characterization of EV by flow cytometry through the use of multiplex and multicolor in situ proximity ligation assays (in situ PLA), allowing each detected EV to be easily recorded over background noise using a conventional flow cytometer. By targeting sets of proteins on the surface that are specific for distinct classes of EVs, the method allows for selective recognition of populations of EVs in samples containing more than one type of EVs. The method presented herein opens up for analyses of EVs using flow cytometry for their characterization and quantification.

The sharing economy, or collaborative consumption, refers to peer-to-peer sharing of goods and services coordinated through a commercialized or community-based online platform. Collaborative consumption platforms are used for sharing of our under-used assets, e.g. our homes, tools, and vehicles, and can bring social communities together. Through sharing we use our resources more effectively, and contribute towards a more sustainable lifestyle. Hoffice was started in 2013 in Stockholm and promotes the concept of working for free in the homes of others, and is getting a lot of attention around the world. This nonprofit network helps people arrange home offices, where hosts share their residence with people who, through Facebook, can reserve a seat for the day. The purpose of these work events is to create free workspaces, with the possibilities for social, structured and disciplined environments, while allowing individuals to benefit from the support and intelligence of others. This research aims to study the hosts in the Hoffice network, to find ways to explain the key driving values, as well as barriers, and apply it to a tailored platform in order to motivate more people to host work events. The central research question is furthermore How could well adapted social platforms increase motivation for people to engage in the collaborative consumption as exemplified by Hoffice? Six semi-structured interviews with past host from year 2014-2015 were conducted to gain qualitative answers about how an online platform can be developed in order to motivate Hoffice members to become hosts. The questions were divided into three different sections; Background, About Hoffice, and Online platform. Observations were performed with a purpose of understanding the structure of a Hoffice event, and to gain a better understanding of the users needs and behaviors. After a first version of a prototype was developed, evaluations and user tests were completed with the interviewees and the, Delande ekonomin, eller gemensam konsumtion, hänvisar till peer-to-peer-delning av varor och tjänster som samordnas genom en kommersialiserad eller samhällsbaserad online-plattform. Denna forsknings syfte är att studera värdarna i Hoffice nätverket, för att hitta sätt att förklara de viktigaste drivkrafterna, liksom hinder, och tillämpa det på en skräddarsydd plattform för att motivera fler människor att vara värd. Den centrala frågeställningen är dessutom, Hur kan välanpassade sociala plattformar öka motivationen för människor att engagera sig i kollaborativ konsumtion som exemplifieras av Hoffice? Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka om faderskapspresumtionen spelat ut sin roll och huruvida den är förenlig med barnets bästa. Faderskapspresumtionen är känd redan från den romerska rätten och innebär att när en gift kvinna får barn antas hennes make vara far till barnet. När ett barn föds av en ogift moder måste faderskapet fastställas genom bekräftelse eller dom. Föreliggande uppsats presenterar argument för respektive emot att gifta och ogifta föräldrar behandlas olika när faderskapet ska fastställas. Barnets bästa är en princip som präglar hela den svenska familjerättslagstiftningen och uppsatsen behandlar barnets bästa i förhållande till faderskapet. Av uppsatsens slutsatser framgår att barnets intresse har beaktats vid utformningen av reglerna för fastställande av faderskap men att det är svårt att säga huruvida just faderskapspresumtionen är förenlig med principen om barnets bästa. I takt med DNA-teknikens utveckling synes det mer viktigt nu än förr att det rättsliga faderskapet överensstämmer med det biologiska, men eftersom det inte gjorts någon tillförlitlig undersökning av hur ofta mannen i äktenskapet inte är biologisk far till barn som föds av gift moder är det svårt att veta hur ofta presumtionsregeln inte leder till överensstämmelse mellan rättsligt och biologiskt faderskap. Vidare har kunnat konstateras att samlevnadsformerna har förändrats över tiden och i Sverige föds majoriteten av barnen av en ogift moder. Mot bakgrund av detta har jag kunnat dra slutsatsen att faderskapspresumtionen får anses ha fått en mindre praktisk betydelse. Förslaget att slopa presumtionsregeln har dock avfärdats med hänvisning till det betydande merarbete som det skulle innebära för myndigheter och enskilda att fastställa faderskapet på annan väg. Att ge ett konkret svar på frågan om faderskapspresumtionen har spelat ut sin roll visade sig vara svårt då det är många faktorer som måste beaktas., The purpose of this essay is to investigate if the presumption of legitimacy has had its day and if it is compatible with the child’s best interest. The presumption of legitimacy is known all the way back from Roman law and means that the husband of a women is pressumed to be the father to the child to whom she gives birth. When a unmarried woman gives birth to a child, the paternity is established by acknowledgement or judgment. This essay presents arguments for and against married and unmarried couples being treated differently when the paternity is being established. The child’s best interest is a principle which characterizes the entire family law in Sweden and the essay discusses the child’s interest in relation to paternity. The conclusions of the essay indicate that the child’s best interest has been taken into account when the rules regarding establishment of paternity were drawn up, but it is difficult to tell whether the presumption of legitimacy specifically is compatible with the principle of the best interests of the child. As DNA technology developments, it seems more important now than ever that the legal paternity is consistent with the biological, but since there has been no reliable study of how often the husband is not the biological father of a child born within the subsistence of a marriage, it is difficult to know how often the presumption does not lead to consistency between legal and biological paternity. Further has been proven that the relationship forms have changed over time and the majority of children in Sweden are born by an unmarried mother. Against this background, I have been able to conclude that the presumption of the legitimacy may has received a less practical significance. The proposal to abolish the presumption, however, has been dismissed because of the considerable extra work it would create for authorities and individuals to establish paternity in another way. Since the emergence of the Internet in the early 1990’s a lot has changed in the world and the area of law is no exception. Important for this essay is that the internet created a strong connection between the areas of Private International Law and Copyright, mainly since copyright infringements became transnational to a higher extent and happened more through ubiquitous medias. These two legal fields now work together to create rules on enforcement of copyright infringements. However it appears that the effectiveness of enforcement is lagging behind, mainly because of reluctance from the EU to change the rules to better fit the digital climate. These existing rules worked well when they were first introduced, but that was at a time when the nature of infringements was different from today. The issue lies in the rules’ dependence on the principle of territoriality, the issue being that it is difficult to regulate a non-territorial infringement with territorial rules. The new types of infringements cause issues in both the field of jurisdiction and applicable law. These are issues of major importance to solve to be able to effectively enforce infringements and catch infringers globally. But, as this essay will show, the existing rules are inadequate. To create an enforcement process that is not extremely expensive or overly time consuming the rules need to evolve to fit the nature of today’s copyright infringements. Copyrights provide rights for authors and artists in the creative industries, and an ineffective enforcement of those rights could make it hard for those protected to keep creating, leading to fewer artistic works being published. Should this happen it could have devastating consequences not only concerning the viability of businesses and the economy, but also ultimately for culture as a whole., Allt sedan Internet introducerades på 1990-talet har mycket förändrats i världen och juridik är inget undantag. Genom internet skapades en ny koppling mellan copyright och Internationell Privaträtt, detta för att copyrightintrång blev transnationella till en högre utsträckning och började ske genom massmediala kanaler. Sedan denna förändring får nu Copyright och Internationell Privaträtt arbeta tillsammans för att skapa bra regler som gör att rättighetsinnehavare kan ta tillvara sin rätt även i den nya internationella miljön . Tyvärr har dessa regler inte hängt med i utvecklingen då EU inte verkar vara villiga att uppdatera dem till något som fungerar i dagens digitala klimat. De regler som finns fungerade bra när de först antogs av EU, men då såg intrången inte ut som de gör idag. Problemet ligger i att reglerna är så bundna till territorialitetsprincipen, detta blir ett problem då det är svårt att reglera icke-territoriella intrång med territoriella regler. Den nya formen av intrång skapar problem både gällande jurisdiktion och tillämplig lag. Dessa frågor är viktiga att ha bra svar på för att man som rättighetsinnehavare på ett effektiv sätt ska kunna ta tillvara sin rätt och de som gjort intrång ska kunna straffas. Som vi kommer se kan dagens regler inte ge oss den effektiviteten. För att skapa en process som inte är orimligt dyr eller tar alldeles för lång tid måste reglerna anpassas för att fungera ihop med dagens Copyrightintrång. Copyright skapar rättigheter för artister och författare i de kreativa branscherna. En ineffektiv process för att tillvarata dessa rättigheter skulle kunna innebära att de som tidigare har skapat t.ex. musik tappar motivationen till att fortsätta. Detta skulle leda till att färre verk publiceras, något som skulle kunna påverka inte bara ekonomi och affärsverksamheter men hela kulturscenen.

Bakgrund: Studier visar att 84 % av Sveriges barn idag är inskrivna i förskolan. Förskolansverksamhet kan då tolkas som relevant för flertalet barn i Sverige. Det finns riktlinjer i förskola och skola i form av skolplan, läroplan, nationella lagar och förordningar som alla pekar på att Sverige ska arbeta för ett jämställt samhälle. Betydelsen av jämställdhet iförskolan betonas av läroplanen för förskolan (2010) där man kan läsa följande. "Förskolanska motverka traditionella könsmönster och könsroller. Flickor och pojkar ska i förskolan hasamma möjligheter att pröva och utveckla förmågor och intressen utan begränsningar utifrån stereotypa könsroller" (Skolverket, 2010, s. 5). Samtidigt visar forskning att förskolansverksamhet snarare förstärker traditionella könsmönster än motverkar dem. För att sträva efterjämställdhet i förskolans verksamhet så kan ett första steg vara ta reda på hurjämställdhetsarbete ter sig och hur man pratar om det. Syfte: Studiens syfte är att ta reda på hur pedagoger pratar om hur jämställdhetsuppdragetkonkretiseras. Vår undersökning utgår från pedagogernas perspektiv. Utifrån vårt syfte har viavgränsat två problemformuleringar: Vilka metoder beskriver pedagoger att de arbetar med gällande jämställdhetsarbete på förskolan? Och hur beskrivs kompetensutveckling gällande jämställdhet i förskolan? Metod: Vi har valt en kvalitativ metod som fokusgruppintervjuer. I vår studie har två förskolor i Västra Götaland ingått. Förskolorna har delats in i fyra olika grupper med tre till fyra deltagare i varje. Samtliga förskolor finns belägna i samma stad men placerade i två olika områden. Resultat: I resultatdelen beskriver vi vårt resultat utifrån analyser av fokusgruppernas diskussioner. Vi har delat in resultatdelen utifrån våra två frågeställningar: vilka metoder beskrivs inom jämställdhetsarbete på förskolan och hur ser kompetensutveckling gällande jämställdhet ut i förskolan. A detailed understanding of epigenetic regulation in glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) is crucial for identifying molecular mechanisms and developing targeted therapies for glioblastoma. To elucidate these mechanisms, we integrated analyses of chromatin accessibility, histone modifications (H3K4me1, H3K4me3, H3K27ac, H3K27me3), and chromatin loops in human and mouse GSCs. Our analysis reveals that the enhancer marker H3K4me1 and the repressive marker H3K27me3 in human GSCs could separate patients into two groups with significant survival differences and enhancer signatures that define glioblastoma stem cell subtypes. Trans-acting transcription factor (TF) enrichment analysis suggested that neural progenitor lineage-specific TFs, such as OLIG2, SOX4, POU family TFs (POU3F1, POU4F1, and POU3F4), SOX15, and FOXC2, are multiple acting TFs in different types of enhancers and determine the lineage specificity of human GSCs. Cross-species analysis between human and mouse GSCs identified key TFs that define lineage-specific subtypes and observed both conserved and species-specific regulatory mechanisms. The objective of this study was to determine if a relationship between microbial neoformation of volatiles and the post-mortem interval (PMI) exists, and if the volatiles could be used as a tool to improve the precision of PMI estimation in decomposed human remains found in an indoor setting. Chromatograms from alcohol analysis (femoral vein blood) of 412 cases were retrospectively assessed for presence of ethanol, N-propanol, 1-butanol, and acetaldehyde. The most common finding was acetaldehyde (83% of the cases), followed by ethanol (37%), N-propanol (21%) and 1-butanol (4%). A direct link between the volatiles and the PMI or the degree of decomposition was not observed. However, the decomposition had progressed faster in cases with microbial neoformation than in cases without signs of neoformation. Microbial neoformation may therefore act as an indicator of the decomposition rate within the early decomposition to bloating stages. This may be used in PMI estimation based on the total body score (TBS) and accumulated-degree days (ADD) model, to potentially improve the model’s precision.

This biography of Ruth First and Joe Slovo – the husband and wife team who were leaders of the war to end apartheid in South Africa – intertwines documentary record with personal interviews to portray the complexities of this extraordinary couple and their efforts to navigate a time of great tension. Emma Lundin finds that Alan Weider‘s work deserves to be well-read for its insight into the couple’s impact on political developments in South Africa and beyond during the 20th century and their relevance for understanding contemporary events in Southern Africa.

November 2012. --- Nelson Mandela’s release from prison in February 1990 was one of the most memorable moments of recent decades. It came a few days after the removal of the ban on the African National Congress; founded a century ago and outlawed in 1960, it had transferred its headquarters abroad and opened what it termed an External Mission. For the thirty years following its banning, the ANC had fought relentlessly against the apartheid state. Finally voted into office in 1994, the ANC today regards its armed struggle as the central plank of its legitimacy. Emma Lundin is impressed by External Mission‘s study of the ANC’s period in exile.
