The key to battery management systems (BMS) is an accurate and real-time prediction on State of Charge (SOC) of the power battery. The methods of estimating SOC of power battery were analyzed. The gray neural network model was introduced into the field of SOC estimation. The model is used to establish the relationship of SOC, discharge current and rebound voltage. The model can be used to estimate SOC of battery on line by detecting the values of rebound voltage and discharge current during the discharge process. Polylactic acid (PLA) surgical sutures are a new type of absorbable sutures that can be degraded and absorbed in the body. However, there is high hydrophobicity for the surface of PLA sutures, which leads to poor biocompatibility and cellular affinity. In order to increase the hydrophilicity, the PLA sutures were etched by lipase firstly, and then grafted with chitosan. The results indicate that the optimal conditions of treating PLA sutures by lipase were as follows: 45℃ reaction temperature, 4.5 g/L concentration of lipase and 8 h reaction time. The sutures were etched by lipase and then formed some grooves and a number of hydroxyl (-OH) bonds, which led to increased surface area and hydrophilicity, but a drop in mass and strength. The optimal conditions of grafting chitosan onto PLA sutures were as follows: 4 h reaction time and 3 g/L concentration of chitosan. The chitosan grafted and loaded on the surface of PLA sutures, and in some areas of the sutures the chitosan reunited, which led to a rough surface and large friction coefficient. Finally, the hydrophilicity of the PLA sutures, treated by lipase and then grafted with chitosan, was greatly improved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

No studies have been focused on the inclusion of organic selenium in formulated feed of abalone when organic minerals are accepted by aquaculture feed industry. This experiment evaluated the effect of organic selenium on the growth, antioxidation, immunity and gene expressions of selenoproteins in abalone. Graded levels of organic selenium were included to the basal diet at 0.00, 0.15, 0.30 and 0.60 ppm providing 157.83, 322.51, 437.59 and 596.59 ug/kg of selenium in the diet. Accordingly, the diets were named as Se‐0.00, Se‐0.15, Se‐0.30 and Se‐0.60 respectively. Results had shown that survival rate, weight gain rate and shell length increase rate were lowest for Se‐0.60 group (p < 0.05). The concentration of selenium in the whole body generally increased with increasing level of dietary organic selenium (p < 0.05). The enzyme activities related to antioxidation increased initially with low levels of dietary selenium and decreased with higher levels, with the highest value in Se‐0.30 group (p < 0.05). The enzyme activities of immunity increased with the addition of dietary selenium. With the increase of dietary selenium, Myostain expression decreased initially and increased afterwards, with lowest value for Se‐0.30 group (p < 0.05). However, the expressions of other genes related to growth, antioxidation and selenoproteins firstly increased and then decreased, with the highest value recorded for Se‐0.15 group. In conclusion, the inclusion rate of 0.15 – 0.30 ppm Se in diet could promote growth, antioxidation, immunity and gene expressions of selenoproteins in abalone; however, excess selenium with 0.60 ppm inclusion lever in diet had toxic effects. A large number of electronic devices could generate a lot of electromagnetic waves, which could interfere with other equipment and harm the human body. Therefore, an electromagnetic interference shielding (EMI) material is urgently needed to protect the human body and the electronic equipment. In this paper, the multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and the nano-Fe3O4 were added into the polylactic acid (PLA) matrix to form the composite film with electromagnetic interference shielding performance. And the structure and properties of MWCNTs/Fe3O4/PLA composite films, such as the morphology, chemical structure, crystallization, mechanical property, conductive property, magnetic property and electromagnetic interference shielding property, were researched. The result shows that too much Fe3O4 could lead to agglomeration, and the coupling agent KH570 had grafted and modified the surface of MWCNTs. The MWCNTs and nano-Fe3O4 could increase the crystallinity of PLA matrix. With the increase of MWCNTs, the maximum tensile stress of composite films gradually increased, and the maximum tensile strain decreased, and the resistance value showed a significant downward trend. The Fe3O4 could improve the magnetic properties of composite film. The MWCNTs and Fe3O4 could improve the electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency (EMI SE). The MWCNTs played a more significant role than the Fe3O4 in the process of EMI, and the EMI SE of the composite film with 3:1 ratios of MWCNTs/Fe3O4 could rise to 22 dB. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Context: High-dose methylprednisolone pulse therapy and oral high-dose prednisone are two common treatments for pediatric nephrotic syndrome (NS). While both treatments have shown effectiveness for patients with pediatric NS to some extent, a clear comparison of their efficacy and safety remains elusive, posing a challenge for clinicians when devising treatment plans., Objective: The study intended to compare the efficacy and safety of high-dose methylprednisolone pulse therapy and conventional oral high-dose prednisone for pediatric patients with NS, to provide more accurate treatment recommendations for clinicians to optimize their treatment plans, improve their QoL, and prevent complications., Design: The research team conducted a randomized controlled trial., Setting: The study took place at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University in Quanzhou, China., Participants: Participants were 60 patients with pediatric NS who received treatment at the hospital between November 2020 and March 2022., Interventions: The research team randomly divided participants into two groups, each comprising 30 patients: (1) the intervention group, which received high-dose methylprednisolone pulse therapy, and (2) the conventional group, which received oral high-dose prednisone., Outcome Measures: The research team measured: (1) clinical efficacy rates, the primary outcome measure; (2) time to symptom relief; (3) laboratory indicators, including blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCr), serum globulin (GLB), and 24-hour urine protein quantification; and (4) incidence of adverse events., Results: Compared to the conventional group, the intervention group's: (1) clinical efficacy rate was significantly higher (P < .05); (2) resolution times for edema (P < .001) and urine protein turning negative (P < .001) were significantly shorter; (3) levels of BUN (P < .001), SCr (P < .001), GLB (P < .001), and 24-hour urine protein quantification (P < .001) were significantly lower; and (4) incidence of adverse reactions was significantly higher (P < .001)., Conclusions: High-dose methylprednisolone pulse therapy demonstrated better efficacy in treating pediatric NS patients, showing a shorter time to symptom relief, but it may also entail a higher risk of adverse reactions compared to conventional oral high-dose prednisone. Clinicians should consider the specific circumstances and needs of pediatric patients when selecting a treatment.

Objective: To study the effects of Huannao Yicong formula (HNYCF) extract on behavior and ultrastructure of mitochondria in hippocampus CA1 area of APP transgenic mice of different months, and explore its partial mechanism in treating Alzheimer's disease (AD) through the perspective of energy metabolism., Method: One hundred and twenty APP695V717I transgenic mice of 3-month old were divided randomly into model group, Donepezil group (0.65 x 10(-3) g x kg(-1) x d(-1)), HNYCF extract large dose group (2.8 g x kg(-1) x d(-1)) and HNYCF extract small dose group (1.4 g x kg(-1) x d(-1)), and 30 mice in each group. Another 30 C57BL/6J mice with the same age and background were used as normal control group. All animals were administered once daily by gavage with the corresponding drug or distilled water. The course of intervention was 4 and 6 months. Behavioral changes were observed by Morris water maze test and step down test. Ultrastructure of mitochondria in hippocampus CA1 area was observed by transmission electron microscope., Result: At the age of 7 and 9 month, the number of times of passing through platform, swimming time and path length of model group increased significantly (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) in Morris water maze test, and the latent period decreased (P < 0.01) in step down test compared with normal group, and it would get worse with the development of disease course. HNYCF extract could increase the number of times of passing through platform, swimming time and path length (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) in Morris water maze test, prolong latent period in step down test of different age. At the age of 7 and 9 month, mitochondrial of hippocampus CA1 area was disrupted and dissolved. Most ridge structure arranged in a mess, and some ridge showed expanding, matrix loosing and swollen appearance, and it would get worse with the development of disease course. HNYCF extract could improve ultrastructure of mitochondria in hippocampus CA1 area, and increase its quality., Conclusion: Learning and memory ability decreased in APP transgenic mice model, and the quantity of neural mitochondria in hippocampus CA1 area with structure disrupting, and it would get worse with the development of disease course. HNYCF extract could improve the learning and memory ability of APP transgenic mice model, its mechanism might relate with improving ultrastructure of mitochondria in hippocampus, and increasing its quantity.

Objective: Titania and Ag containing nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide 66 (TiO2-Ag-nHA/PA66) composite bone filling material has good biocompatibility and biological safety. To investigate the antibacterial effect and Ag+ release characteristics of TiO2-Ag-nHA/PA66 composite bone filling material containing different concentrations of Ag+ in vitro., Methods: The n-HA/PA66 composite bone filling material A1 (material A1) was prepared by co-polymerization method, and TiO2-Ag-nHA/PA66 composite bone filling materials A2 and A3 (materials A2 and A3) were prepared by the same way containing Ag+ of 0.22wt% and 0.64wt%, respectively, and the TiO2 content was 2.35wt%. The materials A2 and A3 were respectively immersed in 50 mL simulated body fluid (SBF), and Ag+ concentration was measured by atomic absorption spectrometry at 1, 3, 7, 14, 21, and 49 days. The inhibition ring test and colony count method were used to evaluate antibiotic effect against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, the anti-adhesion capacity of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM)., Results: There was no significant difference in the Ag+ concentration between materials A2 and A3 at 1 day and 3 days (P > 0.05); and there were significant differences in the Ag+ concentration between materials A2 and A3 after 7 days (P < 0.05). The inhibition ring diameters of materials A2 and A3 to Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli reached the maximum at 1 day, which were (13.40 +/- 2.88), (9.40 +/- 1.14) mm and (23.60 +/- 1.14), (18.80 +/- 0.84) mm, showing significant difference (P < 0.05) between materials A2 and A3 respectively; and then, the diameter of inhibition ring reduced with the time. The antibacterial effect of materials A2 and A3 against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli lasted 15, 33 days and 9, 24 days, respectively. No inhibition ring was observed around material A1 all the time. And the inhibitory rates of materials A2 and A3 were 89.74% +/- 3.62%, 94.18% +/- 2.05% and 78.65% +/- 5.64%, 85.96% +/- 2.50%; showing significant differences (P < 0.05) among materials A1, A2, and A3. SEM showed that bacterial adhesion of materials A2 and A3 was obviously fewer than that of material A1., Conclusion: TiO2-Ag-nHA/PA66 composite bone filling material has antibacterial property against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and it has a good release effect in SBF.

Objective: To study the expression of CD44 and nm23-H1 gene proteins and their clinical significance in laryngeal carcinoma., Method: The expression of CD44 and nm23-H1 proteins were detected by immunohistochemistry method in 40 cases with laryngeal carcinoma, 20 adjacent carcinoma tissues and 12 cases normal laryngeal mucosa tissues., Result: The expression of CD44 and nm23-H1 proteins in laryngeal carcinoma were much higher than that in normal laryngeal mucosa. The expression of CD44 protein in laryngeal carcinoma with metastatic lymph node was higher than that in laryngeal carcinoma without metastatic lymph node, but nm23-H1 protein lower. The expression of CD44 protein was positively correlated with the metastasis, clinical staging and pathological classification but not correlated with T classification of laryngeal carcinoma. The expression of nm23-H1 protein was negative correlation with the metastasis and clinical staging of laryngeal carcinoma., Conclusion: CD44 and nm23-H1 gene proteins play an important coordinated regulation role in the carcinogenesis, development and metastasis of laryngeal carcinoma and will probably become the key biological marks in the judging and evaluating prognosis of laryngeal carcinoma.

The main virus diseases, downy mildew, leaf spot, leaf-injuring insects and aphid's natural enemies in Dendranthema morifolicum were investigated and identified, and the development laws of pests and natural enemies were studied respectively. The effectiveness of integrated control of stem-tip culture, film covering, interplating with tall stalk crops, micronutrient application, terminal bud excising, and use of natural enemies were evaluated. The results showed that after the application of above integrated control measures, the virus-free rate and the yield-increasing rate of the seedlings from stem-tip culture were about 60% and over 50%, respectively. The incidence of downy mildew and leaf-spot decreased by 28% to 30%. The injurious insect density reduced by 40%. The detection of pesticides residue indicated that three pyrethroids insecticides such as cypermethrin, fenvalterate, and deltamthrin were applied one month before harvest, the residues in Dendranthema morifolium after harvest were 0.017, 0.058 and 0.019 mol.L-1, respectively, and all lower than the relevant tolerance values.
