Nitryl chloride (ClNO2) plays potentially important roles in atmospheric chemistry, but its abundance and effect are not fully understood due to the small number of ambient observations of ClNO2 to date. In late autumn 2013, ClNO2 was measured with a chemical ionization mass spectrometer (CIMS) at a mountain top (957 m above sea level) in Hong Kong. During 12 nights with continuous CIMS data, elevated mixing ratios of ClNO2 (>400 parts per trillion by volume) or its precursor N2O5 (>1000 pptv) were observed on six nights, with the highest ever reported ClNO2 (4.7 ppbv, 1 min average) and N2O5 (7.7 ppbv, 1 min average) in one case. Backward particle dispersion calculations driven by winds simulated with a mesoscale meteorological model show that the ClNO2/N2O5 -laden air at the high-elevation site was due to transport of urban/industrial pollution north of the site. The highest ClNO2/N2O5 case was observed in a later period of the night and was characterized with extensively processed air and with the presence of nonoceanic chloride. A chemical box model with detailed chlorine chemistry was used to assess the possible impact of the ClNO2 in the well-processed regional plume on next day ozone, as the air mass continued to downwind locations. The results show that the ClNO2 could enhance ozone by 5–16% at the ozone peak or 11–41% daytime ozone production in the following day. This study highlights varying importance of the ClNO2 chemistry in polluted environments and the need to consider this process in photochemical models for prediction of ground-level ozone and haze.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) helps enterprises achieve sustainable development in the current competitive environment. Premised on social exchange theory, we argue that CSR also contributes to employees' sustainable development, which can be gauged by thriving at work. We conducted a three-wave questionnaire survey to examine our hypothesized model. We found that employees' perceived CSR helps employees to build a good social exchange with their company, which in turn contributes to enhanced thriving at work. Further, for employees with higher levels of trait gratitude, CSR is more likely to facilitate their social exchange and subsequent thriving at work. Our findings enrich the nomological network of CSR and thriving, and provide insights for organizations to build a thriving and sustainable workforce. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Colloidal lead halide perovskites nanocrystals, also known as quantum dots, have been intensively studied as promising optoelectronic materials and have attracted widespread attention due to their unique optical versatility, high photoluminescence quantum yield and convenient synthesis. Among them, the potential of all-inorganic halide caesium lead perovskite (CsPbX3, X = Cl, Br, I) is particularly prominent. In this work, by adjusting the experimental parameters, including precursor preservation condition, reaction temperature and the isolation/purification process, CsPbBr3 quantum dots with uniform size, neat arrangement, narrow full width at half maxima and excellent luminescent properties have been successfully prepared, which lays a good foundation for its potential application in practical optoelectronic devices.

Metal halide perovskites have received much attention for their application in light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and solar cells in the past several years. Among them, 2D and quasi-2D perovskite with organic long-chain cations introduced have drawn significant attention. However, while improving wet and thermal stability, as the grain size becomes smaller, more defects introduced at the grain boundary and surface, resulting in the increase of non-radiative recombination is becoming the main problem which should be faced by 2D/quasi-2D perovskite materials. Here, we report a new strategy employing ionic liquid named 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide(EMB).By adding a small amount of ionic liquid to the precursor, the defect was effectively passivated and the photoluminescence intensity was increased by 11 times and the fluorescent lifetime was increased by about 1.5 times. The flatness of the prepared perovskite thin films has also been effectively improved.
