The histopathological image classification method, based on deep learning, can be used to assist pathologists in cancer recognition in colon histopathology. The popularization of automatic and accurate histopathological image classification methods in this way is of great significance. However, smaller medical institutions with limited medical resources may lack colon histopathology image training sets with reliable labeled information; thus they may be unable to meet the needs of deep learning for many labeled training samples. Therefore, in this paper, the colon histopathological image set with rich label information from a certain medical institution is taken as the source domain; the colon histopathological image set from a smaller medical institution with limited medical resources is taken as the target domain. Considering the potential differences between histopathological images obtained by different institutions, this paper proposes a classification learning framework, namely unsupervised domain adaptation with local structure preservation for colon histopathological image classification, which can learn an adaptive classifier by performing distribution alignment and preserving intra-domain local structure to predict the labels of the colon histopathological images from institutions with lower medical resources. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed framework shows significant improvement in accuracy and specificity of colon histopathological images without reliable labeled information compared to models without unsupervised domain adaptation. Specifically, in an affiliated hospital in Fuyang City, Anhui Province, the classification accuracy of benign and malignant colon histopathological images reaches 96.21%. Objectives: This study explores the clinical application value of medical adhesive in endovascular embolization treatment of peripheral pseudoaneurysm. Material and Methods: This was a retrospective review on 31 patients with peripheral pseudoaneurysm treated with medical adhesive endovascular embolization at the First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University from July 2021 to July 2023. Follow-up for 3-6 months was to observe the clinical efficacy and postoperative complications of medical adhesive embolization treatment. Results: A total of 32 pseudoaneurysms were embolized in 31 patients with peripheral pseudoaneurysms. All pseudoaneurysms originated from visceral arteries. Among them, 29 pseudoaneurysms were embolized with medical adhesive alone, and three pseudoaneurysms were embolized with coil-assisted medical adhesive. After endovascular embolization with medical adhesive, all pseudoaneurysms were successfully embolized. Technical success was 100%. All patients experienced cessation of bleeding after endovascular embolization with medical adhesive, and there were no serious post-operative complications. Clinical success was 100%. During the followup period, two patients experienced recurrent bleeding but no pseudoaneurysm recurrence was observed. Conclusion: Endovascular medical adhesive embolization is a safe and effective method for treating pseudoaneurysm, with high hemostatic efficiency and permanent occlusion of the pseudoaneurysm after embolization, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application. Diverse models have been long explored to impel the progress of food science, while Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) models applied in food toxicology and food function evaluation received vigorous advances recently. With multifaceted advantages such as short lifespan, apparent phenotypes and well-recognized genetic background, C. elegans is becoming a driving model organism in food science. In this review, we comprehensively reviewed the research progress of C. elegans models based on the literature published in past two decades, and systematically categorized the methods of C. elegans models' construction, summarized the applications of nematodes in food toxicology, mainly involved in microbial contamination, food additives, pesticide residues, heavy metals, food packaging, and physical pollution. C. elegans models' exploitations for functional foods assessments were also exemplified, and biological properties included anti-oxidant, anti-aging, anti-obesity, anti-glucotoxicity, anti-neurodegenerative and immunoregulation. Research gaps between present shortcomings and future orientations have been further discussed. Background: Bile acids (BAs) are closely related to the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer (CRC), but the specific mechanism is still unclear. Aims: To identify potential targets related to BAs in CRC and analyze the correlation with immunity. Methods: The expression of BAs and CRC-related genes in TCGA was studied and screened using KEGG. GSE71187 was used for external validation of differentially expressed genes. Immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and enzymatic cycling assays were used to detect the expression levels of the differentially expressed genes ki67 and BAs. Weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA) was used to identify genes associated with differential gene expression and immunity. The Cibersort algorithm was used to detect the infiltration of 22 kinds of immune cells in cancer tissues. The PPI network and ceRNA network were constructed to reveal the possible molecular mechanisms behind tumorigenesis. Results: The BA-related gene UGT2A3 is positively correlated with good prognoses in CRC. The expression level of UGT2A3 was negatively related to the BA level and positively related to the Ki67 proliferation index. The expression level of UGT2A3 was higher in the moderately differentiation and advanced stage (stage IV) of CRC. In addition, the expression level of UGT2A3 is correlated with CD8+ T cells. A PPI network related to UGT2A3 and T-cell immune-related genes was constructed. A ceRNA network containing 32 miRNA‒mRNA and 40 miRNA‒lncRNA regulatory pairs was constructed. Objective: Nowadays, more than 90% of people over 50 years suffer from intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD), but there are exist no ideal drugs. The aim of this study is to identify a new drug for IDD. Methods: An approved small molecular drug library including 2040 small molecular compounds was used here. We found that taurocholic acid sodium hydrate (NAT) could induce chondrogenesis and osteogenesis in mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Then, an in vivo mouse model of IDD was established and the coccygeal discs transcriptome analysis and surface plasmon resonance analysis (SPR) integrated with liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry assay (LC‐MS) were performed in this study to study the therapy effect and target proteins of NAT for IDD. Micro‐CT was used to evaluate the cancellous bone. The expression of osteogenic (OCN, RNX2), chondrogenic (COL2A1, SOX9), and the target related (ERK1/2, p‐ERK1/2) proteins were detected. The alkaline phosphatase staining was performed to estimate osteogenic differentiation. Blood routine and blood biochemistry indexes were analyzed for the safety of NAT. Results: The results showed that NAT could induce chondrogenesis and osteogenesis in MSCs. Further experiments confirmed NAT could ameliorate the secondary osteoporosis and delay the development of IDD in mice. Transcriptome analysis identified 128 common genes and eight Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways for NAT. SPR‐LC–MS assay detected 57 target proteins for NAT, including MAPK3 (mitogen‐activated protein kinase 3), also known as ERK1 (extracellular regulated protein kinase 1). Further verification experiment confirmed that NAT significantly reduced the expression of ERK1/2 phosphorylation. Conclusion: NAT would induce chondrogenesis and osteogenesis of MSCs, ameliorate the secondary osteoporosis and delay the progression of IDD in mice by targeting MAPK3.Furthermore, MAPK3, especially the phosphorylation of MAPK3, would be a potential therapeutic target for IDD treatment. Electrochemical synthesis of valuable chemicals and feedstocks through carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction in acidic electrolytes can surmount the considerable CO2 loss in alkaline and neutral conditions. However, achieving high productivity, while operating steadily in acidic electrolytes, remains a big challenge owing to the severe competing hydrogen evolution reaction. Here, we show that vertically grown bismuth nanosheets on a gas-diffusion layer can create numerous cavities as electrolyte reservoirs, which confine in situ–generated hydroxide and potassium ions and limit inward proton diffusion, producing locally alkaline environments. Based on this design, we achieve formic acid Faradaic efficiency of 96.3% and partial current density of 471 mA cm−2 at pH 2. When operated in a slim continuous-flow electrolyzer, the system exhibits a full-cell formic acid energy efficiency of 40% and a single pass carbon efficiency of 79% and performs steadily over 50 h. Motors driven by surface acoustic waves (SAWs) have been extensively investigated due to their potential applications in various environments. One of the problems we are confronted with is the lifetime of the substrate which supports SAWs since it becomes fragile when large-amplitude SAWs are excited on the substrate. In order to prolong the lifetime of the substrate, we propose to apply modulated driving voltage with a duty ratio to the interdigital transducers. With the implementation of such a proposal, we found an intriguing phenomenon which is out of expectation, i.e., when the driving voltage is high, the slider speed under modulated driving with a suitable duty ratio might be larger than that with the continuous driving. In this paper, we study a class of Hermitian dual-containing constacyclic codes of length n = q 2 m - 1 q + 1 , where q is a power of 2 and m ≥ 2 is an integer. We apply the Hermitian construction to gain quantum constacyclic codes, and lots of codes obtained in the present paper have parameters better than those of the known quantum codes. The Hermitian hull of a linear code is defined to be the intersection of itself and its Hermitian dual. In this work, the long-term skid resistance attenuation law of asphalt mixtures in the presence of aeolian sand was studied. Four types of asphalt mixtures underwent skid resistance abrasion tests using an accelerated loading tester. The pendulum value (BPN) and structure depth (MTD) of these four mixtures were determined under various conditions of sand density and abrasion times. The correlation between the BPN and density and the number of times of abrasion were investigated, respectively, to analyze the skid resistance attenuation law at the microscopic and macroscopic levels. Our results indicate that the skid resistance of the four types of asphalt mixtures initially decreased and subsequently reached a stable state. Sand density primarily influences skid resistance during the initial stage, while the number of abrasions becomes the dominant factor affecting skid resistance in the later stages. Pruning of neural networks is undoubtedly a popular approach to cope with the current compression of large-scale, high-cost network models. However, most of the existing methods require a high level of human-regulated pruning criteria, which requires a lot of human effort to figure out a reasonable pruning strength. One of the main reasons is that there are different levels of sensitivity distribution in the network. Our main goal is to discover compression methods that adapt to this distribution to avoid deep architectural damage to the network due to unnecessary pruning. In this paper, we propose a filter texture distribution that affects the training of the network. We also analyze the sensitivity of each of the diverse states of this distribution. To do so, we first use a multidimensional penalty method that can analyze the potential sensitivity based on this texture distribution to obtain a pruning-friendly sparse environment. Then, we set up a lightweight dynamic threshold container in order to prune the sparse network. By providing each filter with a suitable threshold for that filter at a low cost, a massive reduction in the number of parameters is achieved without affecting the contribution of certain pruning-sensitive layers to the network as a whole. In the final experiments, our two methods adapted to texture distribution were applied to ResNet Deep Neural Network (DNN) and VGG-16, which were deployed on the classical CIFAR-10/100 and ImageNet datasets with excellent results in order to facilitate comparison with good cutting-edge pruning methods. To study the complications of ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing renal replacement therapy with secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT). This retrospective study reviewed the clinical data, including general information, examination results, treatment times, time interval, and postoperative complications, of 103 SHPT patients who received ultrasound-guided RFA treatment from July 2017 to January 2021. Of 103 patients, 52 required two sessions of RFA within a month. The incidence of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury at the second treatment was significantly higher than that at the first treatment (first session vs. second session, 5.77% vs. 21.15%; p =.021). Of all the enrolled 103 patients, 27 suffered complications after the first session of RFA. When we separated patients into complications group and non-complication group, we detected more ablated nodules in the complications group (Z = −2.222; p =.0026). Subgroup analysis further showed that the patients in the severe hypocalcemia group were younger (p =.005), had more ablated nodules (p =.003) and higher blood phosphorus (p =.012) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels (p =.002). Univariate analysis showed that age, serum phosphorus, ALP, and number of ablated nodules were associated with a higher risk of severe hypocalcemia after the first session of RFA. An interval of more than 1 month between two treatments may help to avoid recurrent laryngeal nerve injury. To investigate the clinical and kidney pathological features and prognosis of idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) with kidney tubulointerstitial damage (TID). Based on the presence or absence of kidney TID by kidney biopsy, 300 patients diagnosed with IMN were categorized into non-TID (TID−) and tubulointerstitial injury (TID+) groups. The clinical and pathological data were analyzed retrospectively. All patients were followed up for 6–24 months after treatment with glucocorticoids (GCs) combined with cyclophosphamide or GCs combined with calcineurin inhibitors (CNIs) to observe treatment effects on patient prognosis. The patients in the TID + group were older and more likely to be male. The 24-h urine protein, blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, cystatin C, β2-microglobulin, and antiphospholipase A2 receptor antibody levels were higher than those in the TID − group and the pathological manifestations were more severe. After 1 year of follow-up, the overall response rate (complete response + partial response) in the TID + group was lower (66.67% vs. 80.89%, p =.022) than in the other. After combined GC and CNI therapy, the complete remission rate in the TID + group was significantly lower than that in the TID − group (13.79% vs. 35.46%, p =.022). The 24-h urine protein level was an independent risk factor for worsening kidney condition (p =.038). Patients with IMN with TID have more severe clinical manifestations and pathological damage and lower remission rates. Objectives: This study evaluated the accuracy of dental implant placement using the robotic computer‐assisted implant surgery (r‐CAIS) technology in fully edentulous patients. Materials and Methods: Fully edentulous and terminal dentition patients were enrolled for r‐CAIS technology. Based on the cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT) examination, a customized positioning marker and a preoperative surgical plan were created before surgery. During the implant surgery, the implant osteotomy and placement were automatically performed using an autonomous robotic surgery system under the surgeon's supervision. A postoperative CBCT scan was used to determine the discrepancies between the planned and placed implants. Results: Ten patients with 59 implants underwent autonomous robotic surgery. No adverse surgical events occurred. The deviations of global coronal, global apical, and angular were 0.67 ± 0.37 mm (95% CI: 0.58–0.77 mm), 0.69 ± 0.37 mm (95% CI: 0.59–0.78 mm), and 1.27° ± 0.59° (95% CI: 1.42°–1.11°), respectively. Conclusions: The autonomous r‐CAIS technology proved an accurate surgical approach for implant placement in fully edentulous patients due to the control of the angular deviation. Autonomous robotic surgery seems promising as an accurate technology for treating fully edentulous patients. However, further trials are required to provide more hard clinical evidence. Background: The prevalence of obese children in China is increasing, which poses a great challenge to public health. Gut microbes play an important role in human gut health, and changes in gut status are closely related to obesity. However, how gut microbes contribute to obesity in children remains unclear. In our study, we performed shotgun metagenomic sequencing of feces from 23 obese children, 8 overweight children and 22 control children in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. Results: We observed a distinct difference in the gut microbiome of obese children and that of controls. Compared with the controls, bacterial pathogen Campylobacter rectus was significantly more abundant in obese children. In addition, functional annotation of microbial genes revealed that there might be gut inflammation in obese children. The guts of overweight children might belong to the transition state between obese and control children due to a gradient in relative abundance of differentially abundant species. Finally, we compared the gut metagenomes of obese Chinese children and obese Mexican children and found that Trichuris trichiura was significantly more abundant in the guts of obese Mexican children. This paper investigated the effects of welding and alternating wet-dry seawater on the hydrogen embrittlement (HE) susceptibility of a new nanoparticle-reinforced high-strength steel, dispersion-strengthened-high-strength (DSHS) steel. The results show that welding led to the transformation of granular bainite to tempered martensite. It also promotes grain coarsening as well as an increase in inclusions size and irregular changes in shape. This results in increased susceptibility to HE at the welded joint (WJ). After wet-dry cycle corrosion in seawater, corrosion products impede the oxygen transfer and promote the hydrogen evolution reaction, so the hydrogen production increases. The decrease in the protection of corrosion products at the WJ and the decrease in NbC content led to an increase in hydrogen production but a decrease in hydrogen trapping capacity. Therefore, the WJ HE sensitivity of DSHS steel is further increased. • The effect of welding and alternating wet-dry environment on the HE of DSHS steels was studied. • Simulation of hydrogen permeation under alternating wet-dry environment using a modified Devanathan-Stachurski cell. • The microstructure and inclusions are the main factors affecting the HE of the material in its initial state. • Hydrogen production is the main factor for the susceptibility of DSHS steels to HE under alternating wet-dry environment. AbstractTraditional dry cured ham (DCH) is favored by consumers for its distinctive flavor, derived from an array of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Microbiota play a pivotal role in the formation of VOCs. To fully comprehend the pathway by which the microbiota enhance the flavor quality of DCH, it is imperative to elucidate the flavor profile of DCH, the structural and metabolic activities of the microbiota, and the intricate relationship between microbial and VOCs. Thus far, the impact of microbiota on the flavor profile of DCH has not been comprehensively discussed or reviewed, and the succession of bacteria, especially at distinct phases of processing, has not been adequately summarized. This article aims to encapsulate the considerable potential of ferments in shaping the flavor characteristics of DCH, while elucidating the underlying mechanisms through which VOCs are generated in hams via microbial metabolism. Throughout the various stages of DCH processing, the composition of microbiota undergoes dynamic changes. Furthermore, they directly participate in the formation of VOCs in DCH through the catabolism of amino acids, metabolism of fatty acids, and the breakdown of carbohydrates. In this study, we isolated human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs) to find the optimal time of LIPUS stimulation and to explore how LIPUS affects inflammatory and osteogenic responses in hPDLCs in an inflammatory environment. The target molecules of LIPUS were identified by high‐throughput sequencing. RT–qPCR and WB were used to detect how LIPUS affected the expression of related genes in TNFα‐induced inflammation. The expression of ROS and inflammatory factors was detected by flow cytometry. Immunohistochemistry was used to further verify gene expression in rats. hPDLCs were isolated successfully. The optimal LIPUS stimulation condition was 45 mW/cm2 for 30 min and continued for 3 days, and this intensity significantly promoted the osteogenesis and mineralization of hPDLCs. LIPUS significantly inhibited the upregulation of IL‐6 and ROS, increased the percentage of cells in the G2 phase, inhibited cell apoptosis, and inhibited the upregulation of TLR5 expression in an inflammatory environment. LIPUS can effectively restrain the inflammation and oxidative stress response of hPDLCs and promote osteogenesis in an inflammatory environment. Oxygen as one of the most critical substances in living organisms has attracted ever‐increasing attention in disease treatment, which is important in regulating metabolic activities. However, the hypoxia arising from disease is a prevalent problem, leading to observably reduced therapeutic effectiveness in photodynamic therapy, radiotherapy, sonodynamic therapy, etc. Therefore, the reversion of hypoxia becomes the basis for enhancing the disease treatment. Thanks to the development of nanotechnology, various nanomaterials with oxygen‐production capacity are explored to recover the function of oxygen in tissue, but there are still some limitations. The photosynthetic microorganisms (PSMs) are extensively applied for improving hypoxia in diseases due to their highly efficient photocatalytic oxygen production efficacy and desirable biocompatibility. In this review, the up‐to‐date research progress on therapeutic modalities of microbial‐based photosynthetic oxygenation (e.g., cancer treatment, wound healing, and tissue engineering) are summarized and highlighted. In addition, the key issue of biocompatibility/biosafety of microbial‐based treatment that is fundamental to apply in vivo is further emphasized and clarified. Finally, the present critical issues are discussed and the future evolution of microbial‐based treatment based on photosynthetic oxygenation is predicted, promoting further development and clinical applications. Objective: Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) is a kind of endemic and chronic osteochondropathy in China. This study aims to explore the functional relevance and potential mechanism of Wnt-inducible signaling pathway protein 1 (WISP1) in the pathogenesis of KBD. Design: KBD and control cartilage specimens were collected for tissue section observation and primary chondrocyte culture. Firstly, the morphological and histopathological observations were made under a light and electron microscope. Then, the expression levels of WISP1 as well as molecular markers related to the autophagy pathway and extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis were detected in KBD and control chondrocytes by qRT-PCR, Western blot, and immunohistochemistry. Furthermore, the lentiviral transfection technique was applied to make a WISP1 knockdown cell model based on KBD chondrocytes. In vitro intervention experiments were conducted on the C28/I2 human chondrocyte cell line using human recombinant WISP1 (rWISP1). Results: The results showed that the autolysosome appeared in the KBD chondrocytes. The expression of WISP1 was significantly higher in KBD chondrocytes. Additionally, T-2 toxin, a risk factor for KBD onset, could up-regulate the expression of WISP1 in C28/I2. The autophagy markers ATG4C and LC3II were upregulated after the low-concentration treatment of T-2 toxin and downregulated after the high-concentration treatment. After knocking down WISP1 expression in KBD chondrocytes, MAP1LC3B decreased while ATG4C and COL2A1 increased. Moreover, the rWISP1 protein treatment in C28/I2 chondrocytes could upregulate the expression of ATG4C and LC3II at the beginning and downregulate them then. Background: The MeltPro TB assay (MeltPro) is a molecular rapid diagnostic test designed for detecting resistance to antituberculosis drugs. However, the performance of MeltPro as an initial diagnostic test for simultaneously detecting the presence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) and drug resistance has not been evaluated. This study aims to assess the performance of MeltPro as initial diagnostic test for simultaneous detection of MTB and drug resistance in clinical samples from patients with presumptive pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB). Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 1283 patients with presumptive PTB from two clinical centers, out of which 875 were diagnosed with PTB. The diagnostic accuracy of MeltPro, Xpert MTB/RIF (Xpert), and MGIT 960 for PTB detection was evaluated. Rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), ethambutol (EMB), streptomycin (STR), and fluoroquinolone (FQ) resistance were detected using MeltPro, with Xpert and/or the broth microdilution plate method (MYCOTB) results as references. Results: For the diagnosis of PTB, MeltPro showed a sensitivity of 69.0%, which was similar to Xpert (72.7%; P > 0.05) and higher than MGIT (58.1%; P < 0.001). The specificity of MeltPro was 97.1%, similar to Xpert (98.0%; P > 0.05). In smear-negative patients, MeltPro's sensitivity was 50.9%, similar to Xpert (56.5%; P > 0.05), and higher than MGIT (33.1%; P < 0.001). Based on Xpert and/or MYCOTB results, MeltPro exhibited a sensitivity and specificity of 98.3% and 99.2%, respectively, for detecting RIF resistance. Based on MYCOTB results, MeltPro's sensitivity for detecting resistance to INH, EMB, STR, and FQ was 96.4%, 89.1%, 97.5%, and 90.3%, respectively, with specificities of 96.0%, 96.0%, 95.2%, and 99.4%, respectively. Conclusion: The MeltPro TB assay could potentially be an effective alternative as the initial test for rapid diagnosis of PTB with drug-resistance detection in clinical practice. Objectives: Periodontitis is a chronic infectious disease, which leads to inflammatory destruction of periodontal supporting tissues. Interleukin 14 (IL-14), Interleukin 16 (IL-16) and serum amyloid A (SAA) have been demonstrated to be abnormally expressed in inflammatory diseases. Therefore, this study was performed to analyzed the expression and potential clinical values of IL-14, 1L-16 and SAA in periodontitis. Materials and methods: A total of 100 periodontitis patients and 100 healthy volunteers were recruited and the saliva and serum samples were collected. Then the C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), IL-14, 1L-16 and SAA levels in the saliva and serum of periodontitis patients were measured by Elisa kits. Besides, the significance of CRP, PCT, IL-14, 1L-16 and SAA in periodontitis patients were analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. Results: The results showed that CRP, PCT, IL-14, 1L-16 and SAA levels were significantly increased in the the saliva and serum of the periodontitis patients. Additionally, the area under the curve (AUC) of saliva CRP, PCT, IL-14, 1L-16 and SAA for the diagnosis of periodontitis were 0.9035, 0.9435, 0.9508, 0.9500 and 0.9467, respectively. The AUC of serum CRP, PCT, IL-14, 1L-16 and SAA for the diagnosis of periodontitis were 0.9035, 0.9435, 0.9508, 0.9500 and 0.9467, respectively. What's more, the diagnostic value of IL-14, 1L-16 and SAA were enhanced when combining with CRP and PCT. Background: A viral infection can modify the risk to subsequent viral infections via cross‐protective immunity, increased immunopathology, or disease‐driven behavioral change. There is limited understanding of virus–virus interactions due to lack of long‐term population‐level data. Methods: Our study leverages passive surveillance data of 10 human acute respiratory viruses from Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai collected during 2009 to 2019: influenza A and B viruses; respiratory syncytial virus A and B; human parainfluenza virus (HPIV), adenovirus, metapneumovirus (HMPV), coronavirus, bocavirus (HBoV), and rhinovirus (HRV). We used a multivariate Bayesian hierarchical model to evaluate correlations in monthly prevalence of test‐positive samples between virus pairs, adjusting for potential confounders. Results: Of 101,643 lab‐tested patients, 33,650 tested positive for any acute respiratory virus, and 4,113 were co‐infected with multiple viruses. After adjusting for intrinsic seasonality, long‐term trends and multiple comparisons, Bayesian multivariate modeling found positive correlations for HPIV/HRV in all cities and for HBoV/HRV and HBoV/HMPV in three cities. Models restricted to children further revealed statistically significant associations for another ten pairs in three of the four cities. In contrast, no consistent correlation across cities was found among adults. Most virus–virus interactions exhibited substantial spatial heterogeneity. Conclusions: There was strong evidence for interactions among common respiratory viruses in highly populated urban settings. Consistent positive interactions across multiple cities were observed in viruses known to typically infect children. Submarine micro-geomorphology is a geo-morphological type occurring in shallow and surface areas of seabed. The combined relationships and distribution of the micro-geomorphology indirectly reflect coupling relationships among the sediment deposition, dynamic environment, and geomorphologic evolution. Spatial differentiation and dynamic changes in micro-geomorphology were studied based on acoustic data interpretation from a wide range (3 200 km2) of the Huanghe (Yellow) River delta (HRD). The combination of the sub-bottom profiler and the side-scan sonar methods allowed for the identification of submarine shallow micro-geomorphologic types, as well as their scale and spatial distributions. There were seven typical micro-geomorphologic features in the shallow and surface areas of the HRD, including buried ancient channels, stratigraphic disturbances, scour troughs, sand waves, pits, erosional remnants, and sand spots. The coupling and superposition of the sediment, sediment characteristics, seabed scouring and silting, and hydrodynamic conditions of the Huanghe River had combined effects on the patterns of micro-geomorphologic types, characteristics, and ranges. From the perspective of acoustic profile interpretations, the scale, range, and spatial locations of the micro-geomorphology in the HRD revealed seasonal variation characteristics, and the spatial distributions displayed significant regional differentiation characteristics. In addition, strong stratigraphic disturbances and areas with densely distributed buried ancient channels reflected the activity and instability of the submarine shallow strata. Through the interpretation of the sub-bottom profile detection data, the diversion processes of the flow paths in the lower reaches of the Huanghe River were obtained for a certain historical period in the coastal waters of the HRD. This study assessed death anxiety (Death Anxiety Questionnaire, DAQ) and psychophysical- (psychological and physical) symptom experience following cadaveric dissection among the Silent Mentor Program (SMP) participants before thawing (T1), after the suturing, dressing and coffining session (T2), and one month post-program (T3). There was a significant decline in the total DAQ score comparing T1 and T2 (t = 7.69, p < 0.001) and T2 and T3 (t = 5.00, p < 0.001) and T1 and T3 (t = 10.80, p < 0.001). There was a significant reduction in total psychological-symptom score comparing T1 and T2 (t = 4.92, p < 0.001) and between T1 and T3 (t = 4.85, p < 0.001). However, for the physical-symptom experience, a significant increase in the physical-symptom score between T1 and T2 (t = –3.25, p = 0.001) was reported but the scores reduced significantly one month after the program (T2–T3; t = 4.12, p < 0.001). Genetic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease with T188K mutation (T188K gCJD) is the most frequent genetic prion disease in China. To explore the penetration of T188K mutation and the pathogenesis of T188K gCJD, we constructed 2 lines of transgenic mouse models: homozygous Tg188K+/+ mice containing T188K mutation in 2 alleles of human PRNP background and heterozygous Tg188K+/- mice containing 1 allele of T188K human PRNP and 1 allele of the wild-type mouse PRNP. Spontaneous neurological illnesses were identified in all Tg188K mice at their old ages (750–800 days old). About half of the Tg188K mice died prior to the final observation (930 days old). Extensive spongiosis, PrPSc deposit, and reactive gliosis of astrocytes and microglia are neuropathologically identified, showing time-dependent exacerbation. Proteinase K-resistant PrP was detected in the brain, muscle, and intestine tissues, and positive real-time quaking-induced conversion reactions were elicited by the brain and muscle tissues of Tg188K mice. Purpose • To study the risk factors affecting amputation and survival in patients with diabetic foot (DF) and to construct a predictive model using the machine learning technique for DF foot amputation and survival and evaluate its effectiveness. Materials and Methods • A total of 200 patients with DF hospitalized in the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College in China were selected via cluster analysis screening, Kaplan-Meier survival calculation, amputation rate and Cox proportional hazards model investigation of risk factors associated with amputation and death. In addition, we constructed various models, including Cox proportional hazards regression analysis, the deep learning method convolution neural network (CNN) model, backpropagation (BP) neural network model, and backpropagation neural network prediction model after optimizing the genetic algorithm. The accuracy of the 4 prediction models for survival and amputation was assessed, and we evaluated the reliability of these computational models based on the size of the area under the ROC curve (AUC), sensitivity and specificity. Results• We found that the 1-year survival rate in patients with DF was 88.5%, and the 1-year amputation rate was 12.5%. Wagner’s Classification of Diabetic Foot Ulcers grade, ankle-brachial index (ABI), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and percutaneous oxygen partial pressure (TcPO2 ) were independent risk factors for amputation in patients with DF, while cerebrovascular disease, Sudoscan sweat gland function score, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and peripheral artery disease (PAD) were independent risk factors for death in patients with DF. In addition, our results showed that in the case of amputation, the COX regression predictive model revealed an AUC of 0.788, sensitivity of 74.1% and specificity of 83.6%. The BP neural network predictive model identified an AUC of 0.874, sensitivity of 87.0% and specificity of 87.7%. An AUC of 0.909, sensitivity of 90.7% and specificity of 91.1% were found after optimizing the BP neural network prediction model via genetic algorithm. In the deep learning CNN model, the AUC, sensitivity and specificity were 0.939, 92.6%, and 95.2%, respectively. In the analysis of risk factors for death, the COX regression predictive model identified the AUC, sensitivity and specificity as 0.800, 74.1% and 85.9%, respectively. The BP neural network predictive model revealed an AUC, sensitivity and specificity of 0.937, 93.1% and 94.4%, respectively. Genetic algorithm-based optimization of the BP neural network predictive model identified an AUC, sensitivity and specificity of 0.932, 91.4% and 95.1%, respectively. The deep learning CNN model found the AUC, sensitivity and specificity to be 0.861, 82.8% and 89.4%, respectively. Among the many methods of hydrogen production, the electrolysis of water has a broad prospect. In this experiment, NiCo 2 O 4 nanosheets with different degrees of oxidation were synthesized on nickel foam by the hydrothermal method, air calcination and reduction steps. The experimental results show that reduction treatment significantly improved the catalytic activity of NiCo 2 O 4 materials under alkaline medium conditions of 1.0 mol/L KOH. V–NiCo 2 O 4 -4 shows better catalytic activity with an overpotential of 285 mV and 340 mV for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) at 10 mA cm−2 and 50 mA cm−2, respectively. The better catalytic activity of V–NiCo 2 O 4 -4 is mainly assigned to the flower-like structure of the catalyst surface and the moderate reduction of NaBH 4 , resulting in more oxygen vacancies and active sites. Density functional theory calculation also indicates that the V–NiCo 2 O 4 -4 material has a stronger water absorption energy (0.75 eV) compared to the V–NiCo 2 O 4 -2 and V–NiCo 2 O 4 -6 materials, which provides a new foundation for the construction of binder-free high-performance electrodes for water splitting. The V–NiCo 2 O 4 -4 showed better results at 50 mA cm−2, which required an overpotential of 340 mV for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The oligopeptide/histidine transporters PHT1 and PHT2, two mammalian solute carrier family 15A proteins, mediate the transmembrane transport of histidine and some di/tripeptides via proton gradient. PHT1 and PHT2 are distributed in a variety of tissues but are preferentially expressed in immune cells and localize to the lysosome-related organelles. Studies have reported the relationships between PHT1/PHT2 and immune diseases. PHT1 and PHT2 participate in the regulation of lysosomal homeostasis and lysosome-associated signaling pathways through their transport and nontransport functions, playing important roles in inflammatory diseases. Background: The growth arrest and DNA damage-inducible gene gamma (GADD45G), an important member of GADD45 family, has been connected to the development of certain human cancers. Our previous studies have confirmed that GADD45G expression could be upregulated by 4-methoxydalbergione (4MOD) in liver cancer cells, but its potential pathological role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has not been fully understood. This study aimed to determine potential role of GADD45G in HCC, and the effects of 4-methoxydalbergione (4MOD) on the regulation of GADD45G expression in vivo were also analyzed. Methods: Publicly available data and in-house immunohistochemistry (IHC) experiments were utilized to explore the expression profiles and clinical significance of GADD45G in HCC samples. Functional enrichment analysis based on GADD45G co-expression genes was used to excavate the molecular mechanism of GADD45G in HCC. We also conducted in vivo experiment on BALB/c nude mice to excavate the inhibitory effect of 4MOD on HCC and to evaluate the differences in the expression of GADD45G in xenograft tissues between the 4MOD-treated and untreated groups. Results: GADD45G displayed significant low expression in HCC tissues. Downregulated expression of GADD45G was positively correlated with some high risk factors in HCC patients and predicted worse prognosis of HCC patients. There was a close association of GADD45G mRNA expression and immune cells, including neutrophils, NK cells, CD8 T cells, and macrophages. Co-expressed genes of GADD45G were involved in several pathways including cell cycle, carbon metabolism, and peroxisome. 4MOD could significantly suppress the growth of HCC in vivo, and this inhibitory effect was dependent on the upregulation of GADD45G expression. This paper considers a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multicasting system aided by the intelligent reflecting surface (IRS). We aim to maximize the sum information rate via jointly designing the transmit precoding matrix and the reflecting coefficient (RC) matrix, subject to the transmit power constrains of the Tx and IRS. To tackle the nonconvex problem, we recast the original problem into an equivalent formulation by using some important facts about matrices and proposed a block coordinate descent (BCD) method to optimize the variables. Background: Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a common colonizing pathogen in the upper respiratory tract and is associated with recalcitrant chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). Herein we sought to characterize the effect of P. aeruginosa–derived flagellin on human sinonasal epithelial cell (HSNEC) immune responses and determine whether these pathways are disrupted in CRS. Methods: Air‐liquid interface cultures were established from CRS and healthy control donors. Cells were incubated with P. aeruginosa–derived flagellin for 24 hours and transcriptional changes were assessed using whole transcriptome RNA sequencing. Apical and basolateral secretion of the pro‐inflammatory cytokines in interleukin (IL)‐1β, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)‐α, and IL‐6 were measured after stimulation by lipopolysaccharide or flagellin and responses were compared between CRS and healthy control patients. Results: HSNECs were weakly responsive to lipopolysaccharide, whereas flagellin stimulated a profound innate immune response dominated by TNF‐α, IL‐1β, and IL‐17 signaling and activation of the IL‐17C/IL‐23 axis. CRS‐derived HNSECs showed an altered innate immune response to flagellin, characterized by a profound increase in TNF‐α secretion coupled with reduced IL‐6 secretion. Conclusions: Flagellin activates a potent innate immune response in HSNECs characterized by pro‐inflammatory mediators and cytokines/chemokines associated with neutrophilic inflammation. Background: A virus infection may lead the body to produce more immune cells of particular types or stimulate the production of new ones, both of which may have anti-leukemic effects. There has been no research on whether immune cells stimulated by varicella-zoster virus (VZV) infection have anti-leukemic effects. The objective of this investigation is to assess the impact of VZV infection on patients' long-term survival following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Methods: This retrospective study investigated the association between varicella-zoster virus (VZV) reactivation and outcomes in 219 individuals who received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) at the Sun Yat-sen University's First Affiliated Hospital. According to being diagnosed with VZV infection or not, these patients were grouped into two groups. The comparison of cumulative incidence of relapse, non-recurrent mortality, and overall survival (OS) was conducted between the two groups. Results: Analyzing multivariate data, VZV reactivation was linked to lower relapse incidence in the group containing all individuals (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.27; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.12–0.64), patients suffering from acute myeloid leukaemia (HR = 0.10; 95% CI, 0.01–0.83), and patients suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (HR = 0.25; 95% CI, 0.08–0.77). Moreover, VZV reactivation was linked with decreased non-relapse mortality in all individuals (HR = 0.20; 95% CI, 0.05–0.79), but no statistical significance was found for any disease subgroup. Further, VZV reactivation was an independent predictor for improved OS in the group containing all individuals (HR = 0.10; 95% CI, 0.03–0.29), patients suffering from acute myeloid leukaemia (HR = 0.09; 95% CI, 0.01–0.66), and patients suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (HR = 0.16; 95% CI, 0.04–0.68). Conclusion: This is the first study to show that VZV reactivation following allo-HSCT is an independent predictor for lower relapse rates and improved OS, providing novel therapeutic approaches to improve patients' long-term survival following allo-HSCT. The classical motor center cerebellum is one of the most consistent structures of abnormality in autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and neuropeptide oxytocin is increasingly explored as a potential pharmacotherapy for ASD. However, whether oxytocin targets the cerebellum for therapeutic effects remains unclear. Here, we report a localization of oxytocin receptor (OXTR) in Purkinje cells (PCs) of cerebellar lobule Crus I, which is functionally connected with ASD-implicated circuits. OXTR activation neither affects firing activities, intrinsic excitability, and synaptic transmission of normal PCs nor improves abnormal intrinsic excitability and synaptic transmission of PCs in maternal immune activation (MIA) mouse model of autism. Furthermore, blockage of OXTR in Crus I in wild-type mice does not induce autistic-like social, stereotypic, cognitive, and anxiety-like behaviors. These results suggest that oxytocin signaling in Crus I PCs seems to be uninvolved in ASD pathophysiology, and contribute to understanding of targets and mechanisms of oxytocin in ASD treatment. Introduction: The Esther Network (EN) person-centred care (PCC) advocacy training aims to promote person-centred attitudes among health practitioners in Singapore. This study aimed to assess the relationship between the training and practitioners' PCC attributes over a 3-month period, and to explore power sharing by examining the PCC dimensions of "caring about the service user as a whole person" and the "sharing of power, control and information". Methods: A repeated-measure study design utilising the Patient-Practitioner Orientation Scale (PPOS), was administered to 437 training participants at three time points - before training (T1), immediately after (T2) and three months after training (T3). A five-statement questionnaire captured knowledge of person-centred care at T1 and T2. An Overall score, Caring and Sharing sub-scores were derived from the PPOS. Scores were ranked and divided into three groups (high, medium and low). Ordinal Generalised Estimating Equation (GEE) model analysed changes in PPOS scores over time. Results: A single, short-term training appeared to result in measurable improvements in person-centredness of health practitioners, with slight attenuation at T3. There was greater tendency to "care" than to "share power" with service users across all three time points, but the degree of improvement was larger for sharing after training. The change in overall person-centred scores varied by sex and profession (females score higher than males, allied health showed a smaller attenuation at T3). Conclusion: Training as a specific intervention, appeared to have potential to increase health practitioners' person-centredness but the aspect of equalising power was harder to achieve within a hierarchical structure and clinician-centric culture. A new pathway via a cyclic intermediate for the synthesis of ketones from aldehydes and sulfonylhydrazone derivatives under basic conditions is proposed. Several control experiments were performed along with analysis of the mass spectra and in‐situ IR spectra of the reaction mixture. Inspired by the new mechanism, an efficient and scalable method for homologation of aldehydes to ketones was developed. A wide variety of target ketones were obtained in yields of 42–95 % by simply heating the 3‐(trifluoromethyl)benzene sulfonylhydrazones (3‐(Tfsyl)hydrazone) for 2 h at 110 °C with aldehydes and with K2CO3 and DMSO as base and solvent, respectively. H2O2 is a significant chemical widely utilized in the environmental and industrial fields, with growing global demand. Without sacrificial agents, simultaneous photocatalyzed H2O2 synthesis through the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and water oxidation reaction (WOR) dual channels from seawater is green and sustainable but still challenging. Herein, two novel thiophene‐containing covalent organic frameworks (TD‐COF and TT‐COF) were first constructed and served as catalysts for H2O2 synthesis via indirect 2e− ORR and direct 2e− WOR channels. The photocatalytic H2O2 production performance can be regulated by adjusting the N‐heterocycle modules (pyridine and triazine) in COFs. Notably, with no sacrificial agents, just using air and water as raw materials, TD‐COF exhibited high H2O2 production yields of 4060 μmol h−1 g−1 and 3364 μmol h−1 g−1 in deionized water and natural seawater, respectively. Further computational mechanism studies revealed that the thiophene was the primary photoreduction unit for ORR, while the benzene ring (linked to the thiophene by the imine bond) was the central photooxidation unit for WOR. The current work exploits thiophene‐containing COFs for overall photocatalytic H2O2 synthesis via ORR and WOR dual channels and provides fresh insight into creating innovative catalysts for photocatalyzing H2O2 synthesis. Notably, with no sacrificial agents, just using air and water as raw materials, TD‐COF exhibited high H2O2 production yields of 4060 μmol h−1 g−1 and 3364 μmol h−1 g−1 in deionized water and natural seawater, respectively. Further computational mechanism studies revealed that the thiophene was the primary photoreduction unit for ORR, while the benzene ring (linked to the thiophene by the imine bond) was the central photooxidation unit for WOR. The current work exploits thiophene‐containing COFs for overall photocatalytic H2O2 synthesis via ORR and WOR dual channels and provides fresh insight into creating innovative catalysts for photocatalyzing H2O2 synthesis. Background: Loss to follow-up (LTFU) is an unsuccessful treatment outcome for tuberculosis (TB) patients. In Malaysia, LTFU affects around 1 in 20 TB patients. Integration of qualitative research methods and evidence will provide a better understanding of LTFU and its underlying issues. In this study, we qualitatively explored TB patients' experiences in receiving treatment and their reasons for leaving TB care. Method: In-depth interviews of 15 patients with a history of LTFU were conducted from January to September 2020. Interview guides were developed to explore TB patients' experiences while receiving treatment, including challenges faced and reasons for treatment interruption. Data were thematically analysed using the framework method. Results: We identified 11 emerging themes that occurred at four levels of interaction with TB patients. First, at the patient personal level, TB beliefs referring to patients' perception of illness and wellness, patients' perceived role of traditional and complementary medicine, and substance abuse were important. Second, the healthcare system and treatment factors that were highlighted included the organisation of care and treatment, interaction with healthcare professionals, particularly in communication and counselling, and TB medications' side effects. Third, structural factors including financial burden, logistical and transportation issues and work-related factors were identified to be barriers to treatment continuation. Fourth, the interpersonal level interaction of patients should not be neglected; this includes family relationships and support as well as peer influence. Conclusion: Study findings put forth issues and challenges faced by TB patients while receiving treatment and underscore areas where actions can be taken. This will contribute to informing the development and implementation of future TB control strategies that are responsive to TB patients' needs and concerns, to effectively address LTFU and ensure better treatment completion rates among TB patients in Malaysia. As a prognostic biomarker for breast cancer, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) is of crucial diagnostic value. Here, a label-free electrochemical aptasensor was established for the ultrasensitive detection of HER-2 using a modified electrode of Bi–Sb alloy materials (Bi–Sb AMs). The performance of the aptasensor was enhanced greatly due to the introduction of Bi–Sb alloy materials (Bi–Sb AMs) with high conductivity. Furthermore, by integrating the aptasensor with the Sensit Smart U-disk electrochemical analyzer, the point-of-care testing (POCT) for HER-2 was realized. Under the optimal experimental parameters, the POCT analyzer showed a wide linear response from 0.01 pg mL−1 to 100 ng mL−1, with a low detection limit (LOD) of 5.96 fg mL−1 for the detection of HER-2. The presented POCT analyzer exhibited good specificity, stability, and reproducibility. Benefiting from the simple operation and rapid testing, the developed analyzer will have potential application in the prognostic diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: This study aims to investigate the effects of ivabradine (IVA) on ventricular electrophysiological remodeling after myocardial infarction (MI) in rats. Material and methods: A total of 60 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups: an MI group, an IVA group, a metoprolol (MET) group, an IVA + MET group, and a sham group. After a four-week intervention, the ventricular electrophysiological parameters were detected by multichannel electrophysiological polygraph. Then, the morphological characteristics were evaluated using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and Masson's staining, and the expression of phosphorylated connexin 43 (p-Cx43) in the left ventricular wall was detected through immunohistochemistry and the Western blot test. Results: The electrophysiological examination revealed that the induction rate and fatality rate of ventricular tachycardia (VT)/ventricular fibrillation (VF) were lower in both the IVA and the MET group, compared with the MI group (6/12, 6/12 vs. 10/11; and 1/12, 1/12 vs. 5/11; all p < 0.05), as well as the IVA + MET group (1/11 vs. 10/11, p < 0.01; and 1/11 vs. 5/11, p < 0.05). The induction rate of VT/VF was lower in the IVA + MET group, compared to the MET group (1/11 vs. 6/12, p < 0.05). H&E and Masson's staining revealed that compared with the MI group, the left ventricular infarction area was lower in the IVA, MET, and IVA + MET groups (p < 0.05, p < 0.05, and p < 0.01, respectively), while collagen volume fraction (CVF) also was lower in the other groups (all p < 0.01). The left ventricular infarction area and CVF both were lower in the IVA + MET group, compared to the MET group (p < 0.05 and p < 0.01, respectively). The immunohistochemistry and Western blot revealed that p-Cx43 expression was higher in the treatment groups, compared with the MI group (all p < 0.01). Conclusions: IVA can reduce the incidence of ventricular arrhythmia after MI in male rats by improving both structural and electrical remodeling, and the combination of IVA and MET is even more effective. PEAR proteins are a type of plant-specific DNA binding with one finger (Dof) transcription factors that play a key role in the regulation of plant growth, especially during phloem cell growth and seed germination in Arabidopsis. However, the identification, characteristics and function of PEAR proteins, particularly in woody plants, need to be further studied. In the present study, 43 candidate PEAR proteins harboring the conserved Zf-Dof domain were obtained in Populus yunnanensis. Based on phylogenetic and structural analysis, 10 representative PEAR candidates were selected, belonging to different phylogenetic groups. The functions of PEAR proteins in the stress response, signal transduction, and growth regulation of stem cambium and roots undergoing vigorous cell division in Arabidopsis were revealed based on their expression patterns as characterized by qRT-PCR analysis, in accordance with the results of cis-element analysis. In vitro experiments showed that the interaction of transcription factor (E2F) and cyclin indirectly reflects the growth regulation function of PEAR through light signaling and cell-cycle regulation. Therefore, our results provide new insight into the identity of PEAR proteins and their function in stress resistance and vigorous cell division regulation of tissues in P. yunnanensis, which may serve as a basis for further investigation of the functions and characteristics of PEAR proteins in other plants. BACKGROUND: Despite advances in the treatment of sepsis over time, this condition remains both a serious threat and a cause of death among critical patients. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the role of the nuclear factor kappa B (NF- κ B) signaling pathway in the development of septic cardiomyopathy in rats with sepsis. METHOD: A total of 32 Sprague Dawley rats were randomized into a sham operation group and three groups with sepsis, which were tested at one of the following time-points: 3, 6, or 12 h. Each group included eight rats. Sepsis models were created via cecal ligation and puncture procedures. All the study rats had the following cardiac parameters and serum levels measured at either 3, 6, or 12 h after the operation (according to their assigned group): heart rate, left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP), maximum rate of left ventricular pressure rise (+ dP/dt max) and fall (- dP/dt max), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF- α), interleukin 1 beta (IL-1 β), interleukin 6 (IL-6), and cardiac troponin I (cTnI). The myocardium of the left ventricle was collected and subjected to hematoxylin and eosin staining to observe the changes in pathological morphology. The expression of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and NF- κ B in the myocardium were detected by western blot analysis. RESULTS: Compared with the sham operation group, the rats in the sepsis subgroups exhibited significantly lower values for all the cardiac parameters measured, including the heart rate (sham operation group = 386.63 ± 18.62 beats per minute [bpm], sepsis 3-h group = 368.38 ± 12.55 bpm, sepsis 6-h group = 341.75 ± 17.05 bpm, sepsis 12-h group = 302.13 ± 21.15 bpm), LVSP (sham operation group = 125.50 ± 11.45 mmHg, sepsis 3-h group = 110.88 ± 7.51 mmHg, sepsis 6-h group = 100.00 ± 15.06 mmHg, sepsis 12-h group = 91.38 ± 14.73 mmHg), + dp/dtmax (sham operation group = 7137.50 ± 276.44 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 3-h group = 5745.00 ± 346.16 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 6-h group = 4360.00 ± 312.04 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 12-h group = 2871.25 ± 443.99 mm Hg/sec), and - dp/dtmax (sham operation group = 6363.75 ± 123.86 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 3-h group = 6018.75 ± 173.49 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 6-h group = 5350.00 ± 337.89 mm Hg/sec, sepsis 12-h group = 4085.00 ± 326.76 mm Hg/sec). They also displayed significantly higher levels of serum cytokines, including TNF- α (sham operation group = 14.72 ± 2.90 pg/mL, sepsis 3-h group = 34.90 ± 4.79 pg/mL, sepsis 6-h group = 24.91 ± 2.57 pg/mL, sepsis 12-h group 22.06 ± 3.11 pg/mL), IL-1 β (sham operation group = 42.25 ± 16.91, 3-h group = 112.25 ± 13.77, sepsis 6-h group = 207.90 ± 22.64, sepsis 12-h group = 157.18 ± 23.06), IL-6 (sham operation group = 39.89 ± 5.74, sepsis 3-h group = 78.27 ± 9.31, sepsis 6-h group = 123.75 ± 13.11, sepsis 12-h group = 93.21 ± 8.96), and cTnI (sham operation group = 0.07 ± 0.03 ng/mL, sepsis 3-h group = 0.18 ± 0.06 ng/mL, sepsis 6-h group = 0.67 ± 0.19 ng/mL, sepsis = 12-h group 1.28 ± 0.10 ng/mL). The rats in the sepsis groups exhibited pathological changes in the myocardium, which deteriorated gradually over time. The animals in all the sepsis groups exhibited significantly higher levels of TLR4 and NF- κ B protein expression compared with the sham group. The TLR4 protein expressions were 0.376 in the sham operation group, 0.534 in the sepsis 3-h group, 0.551 in the sepsis 6-h group, and 0.719 in the sepsis 12-h group. The NF- κ B protein expressions were 0.299 in the sham operation group, 0.488 in the sepsis 3-h group, 0.516 in the sepsis 6-h group, and 0.636 in the sepsis 12-h group. CONCLUSION: Sepsis can lead to myocardial injury and cardiac dysfunction. This may be related to the activation of the NF- κ B intracellular signal transduction pathway and the release of inflammatory factors as a result of lipopolysaccharides acting on TLR4 during the onset of sepsis. Purpose: The preparation of Chinese physical education teachers focuses strongly on movement competence and the development of knowledge about rules and techniques. What is missing are experiences that promote expertise in task design and progressions. The purpose of this study was to examine if participation in classes following the Sport Education model could enhance content expertise by placing students in situations where they were responsible for these tasks. Methods: One hundred and ten physical education majors from a university in central China participated in a semester-long course of volleyball taught using either Traditional Instruction or Sport Education. Pre- and post-course measures were recorded of participants' game performance, common content knowledge (CCK), and specialized content knowledge (SCK). Results: After controlling for pre-intervention scores, statistically significant differences were evident in the posttest scores between the instructional groups for all three measures. The binomial logistic regression model to ascertain the effect of course type on the likelihood that students would reach the benchmark depth of SCK produced statistical significance. Students in the Sport Education classes had 6.67 times higher odds to reach the benchmark than students in the Traditional Instruction classes. Conclusion: The accountability mechanisms specific to Sport Education that have been shown to enhance student motivation and promote knowledge and performance seemed to carry over into this setting. As students in Sport Education were responsible for designing much of their team training, this served to promote their ability to design and sequence tasks based on their team's needs. The new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has had a substantial impact on the Silent Mentor Programme (SMP), a programme in which members of the public may pledge their bodies to be used for medical training and research after their death. This study aimed to explore the conduct of body donations and simulation surgery training during the COVID-19 pandemic from the viewpoints of the committee members of the SMP and the next-of-kin of body donor pledgers. This study utilised a qualitative exploration method to seek an in-depth understanding of this phenomenon. In-depth individual interviews were carried out. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns of themes. The COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test is compulsory before accepting a body donation, and this resulted in the turning down of several donations. Being a donor is the final wish of pledgers and this turning down led to a negative emotional remorseful feeling in the next-of-kin of pledgers. From the perspective of students, it is feared that the conduct of the programme, particularly the home visit session being held online, has impeded teaching of humanistic values, compassion, and empathy, which is the prime philosophy of the programme. Previous to the pandemic, the programme ceremonies were well-attended, denoting the utmost respect and recognition of the mentors; however, travel restrictions due to the pandemic limiting in-person attendance resulted in ceremonies becoming less impactful. Continuous postponements of cadaveric dissection training also resulted in students missing training opportunities, hence potentially impairing their professional practice and humanistic values in the medical profession. Counselling interventions should be directed at easing the negative psychological impact on the next-of-kin of pledgers. As the COVID-19 pandemic may pose a significant impediment to achieving the educational outcomes of cadaveric dissection training, efforts to make up for these gaps are essential. Most primary Sn deposits worldwide are associated with muscovite-bearing peraluminous granites, commonly believed to originate from the partial melting of metasedimentary rocks. We studied the whole-rock geochemistry and Sm–Nd isotopes of Late Cretaceous (~90 Ma) Laojunshan muscovite-bearing peraluminous granites in the Youjiang Basin, South China Block. The globally significant Dulong tin mineralization was co-genetic with the Laojunshan muscovite-bearing monzogranites. The Laojunshan granites exhibit slightly higher εNd(t) values than the Precambrian basement, indicating a hybrid crustal source comprising both Precambrian rock and juvenile components. Characterized by weakly peraluminous compositions, these granites display highly evolved geochemical features: notably low levels of Ca, P, Mg, Fe, and Ti contents, elevated Si content, a high FeOT/MgO ratio, and a low Zr/Hf ratio. These distinctive geochemical features can be attributed to the differentiation of plagioclase, biotite, and zircons, with the remarkably low Nb/Ta and K/Rb ratios further suggesting a fluid exsolution process. The geochemical data propose that tin-enriched Laojunshan granites originate from mineral differentiation and fluid exsolution of crust-derived melts during magmatic evolution. By integrating these novel findings with existing data on coeval muscovite-bearing granites co-genetic with tin mineralization in the Youjiang Basin, it is deduced that these granites share a unified origin. Their genesis can be attributed to mineral differentiation and fluid exsolution of crust-derived melts rather than a direct melting of metasedimentary rocks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Nitroarenes are important chemicals but display toxity to environment and organisms. In the present work, non-precious bicomponent CuCo-based nanocomposites (CuCo 2 O 4 /CuO) prepared with the aid of gamma(γ)-ray-irradiation were utilized for hydrogen production from ammonia borane (AB) hydrolysis and tandem hydrogenation of nitroarenes. The γ-ray-irradiation remarkably boosted the catalytic performance for the AB dehydrogenation and the hydrogenation of nitroarenes. Hydrogen generation rate (HGR) for the CuCo 2 O 4 /CuO catalyst reached 856.3 mL min−1·g cat −1, which was approximately two-fold than that of the catalyst prepared by conventional method (only 397.1 mL min−1·g cat −1). Meanwhile, this irradiation-induced catalyst also showed excellent performance for the hydrogenation of screened nitroarenes with 100% yield of the corresponding amines. The CuCo 2 O 4 /CuO catalyst exhibited high reusability with ∼90% remained activity of the initial one after six runs. The bicomponent CuCo 2 O 4 /CuO exhibited positive hydrogen spillover and synergistic effects contributing to the considerable activity improvement, which is beneficial to the detoxication, conversion and utilization of poison nitroarenes. SUMMARY: Anthocyanin and catechin production in tea (Camellia sinensis) leaves can positively affect tea quality; however, their regulatory mechanisms are not fully understood. Here we report that, while the CsMYB75‐ or CsMYB86‐directed MYB–bHLH–WD40 (MBW) complexes differentially activate anthocyanin or catechin biosynthesis in tea leaves, respectively, CsMYBL2a and CsMYBL2b homologs negatively modified the light‐ and temperature‐induced anthocyanin and catechin production in both Arabidopsis and tea plants. The MBW complexes activated both anthocyanin synthesis genes and the downstream repressor genes CsMYBL2a and CsMYBL2b. Overexpression of CsMYBL2b, but not CsMYBL2a, repressed Arabidopsis leaf anthocyanin accumulation and seed coat proanthocyanin production. CsMYBL2b strongly and CsMYBL2a weakly repressed the activating effects of CsMYB75/CsMYB86 on CsDFR and CsANS, due to their different EAR and TLLLFR domains and interactions with CsTT8/CsGL3, interfering with the functions of activating MBW complexes. CsMYBL2b and CsMYBL2a in tea leaves play different roles in fine‐tuning CsMYB75/CsMYB86–MBW activation of biosynthesis of anthocyanins and catechins, respectively. The CsbZIP1–CsmiR858a–CsMYBL2 module mediated the UV‐B‐ or cold‐activated CsMYB75/CsMYB86 regulation of anthocyanin/catechin biosynthesis by repressing CsMYBL2a and CsMYBL2b. Similarly, the CsCOP1–CsbZIP1–CsPIF3 module, and BR signaling as well, mediated the high temperature repression of anthocyanin and catechin biosynthesis through differentially upregulating CsMYBL2b and CsMYBL2a, respectively. The present study provides new insights into the complex regulatory networks in environmental stress‐modified flavonoid production in tea plant leaves. Significance Statement: It is not clear how tea (Camellia sinensis) leaves control the biosynthesis and accumulation of catechins, anthocyanins, and other types of flavonoids under various environmental conditions. In the present study we show that two MYB repressors (CsMYBL2b and CsMYBL2a) differently fine‐tune the high temperature‐ or light stress‐regulated anthocyanin and catechin production through interfering with CsMYB75‐ or CsMYB86‐directed MYB–bHLH–WD40 (MBW) complexes. CsbZIP1–CsmiR858a, CsCOP1–CsbZIP1–CsPIF3, and BR signaling are involved in this stress‐modified CsMYBL2b and CsMYBL2a expression, which further regulate MBW activation of catechin and anthocyanin production.
