53. New physics implication of Higgs precision measurements

Abstract

Studying the properties of the Higgs boson can be an important window to explore the physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). In this work, we present studies on the implications of the Higgs precision measurements at future Higgs Factories. We perform a global fit to various Higgs search channels to obtain the 95 % C.L. constraints on the model parameter spaces of Two Higgs Double Model (2HDM) and Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). In the 2HDM, we analyze tree level effects as well as one-loop contributions from the heavy Higgs bosons. The strong constraints on $\cos(\beta-\alpha)$, heavy Higgs masses and their mass splitting are complementary to direct search of the LHC as well as possible future Z pole precision measurements. For the MSSM, we study both the Higgs couplings and mass precisions. The constraints on the CP-odd Higgs mass $m_A$ and stop mass scale $m_{SUSY}$ can be complementary to the direct search of HL-LHC. Abstract

Future Higgs factories can reach impressive precision on Higgs property measurements. In this paper, instead of conventional focus of Higgs precision in certain interaction bases, we explored its sensitivity to new physics models at the electron-positron colliders. In particular, we studied two categories of new physics models, Standard Model (SM) with a real scalar singlet extension, and Two Higgs Double Model (2HDM) as examples of weakly-interacting models, Minimal Composite Higgs Model (MCHM) and three typical patterns of the more general operator counting for strong interacting models as examples of strong dynamics. We performed a global fit to various Higgs search channels to obtain the 95% C.L. constraints on the model parameter space. In the SM with a singlet extension, we obtained the limits on the singlet-doublet mixing angle sin(theta), as well as the more general Wilson coefficients of the induced higher dimensional operators. In the 2HDM, we analyzed tree level effects in tan(beta) vs. cos(beta-alpha) plane, as well as the one-loop contributions from the heavy Higgs bosons in the alignment limit to obtain the constraints on heavy Higgs masses for different types of 2HDM. In strong dynamics models, we obtained lower limits on the strong dynamics scale. In addition, once deviations of Higgs couplings are observed, they can be used to distinguish different models. 68. Short-Circuit Fault Simulation of Tri-Axial High Temperature Superconducting Cable in Combined PSCAD-MATLAB

Abstract

The high-temperature superconducting (HTS) cable technology has promising application and is gradually adopted in the power grid. However, the short-circuit faults in HTS cables may cause catastrophic consequences and pose a serious threat to the safe operation of the power grid. This work established an equivalent circuit model based on the internal structures of the cold dielectric tri-axial three phase HTS cables. Compared with conventional counterparts, the HTS cable has distinct dynamic impedance characteristics influenced by its current flow and temperature response. Based on the interactive simulation method of PSCAD and MATLAB, the electrical and thermal performance of HTS cables is obtained with considering the quench process under different short-circuit fault states. The instantaneous change of current and quench resistance of superconducting tapes can serve as a reference for fault warning design of HTS cables.

69. AC Loss Analysis of 35-kV Superconducting Cables Operating at Full Load

Abstract

The Shanghai superconducting cable project, operating at 35 kV with a rated current of 2200 A and spanning 1.2 km, commenced in December 2021 and has since been consistently operational, including full-load operation. Accurately estimating the ac loss of superconducting cables is crucial for assessing their current carrying capability, yet theoretical estimations often fall short. This article presents an analysis of the various losses of the superconducting cable at full load and proposes a comprehensive loss analysis method that integrates electrical and thermal measurement techniques. Data on dielectric loss, dc resistance, and ac resistance were obtained through a blackout test. In addition, during full-load operation, measurements were taken for parameters, such as cable inlet and outlet temperatures, liquid nitrogen flow rate, and pressure. Comprehensively leveraging these test data, this article deduces the leakage heat loss of the superconducting cable and its ac loss at full load.

Abstract

[Purpose/Significance] Fruit tree diseases endanger the safety of agricultural production, and the use of artificial intelligence technologies to help fruit growers identify fruit tree diseases in a timely and accurate manner is of great significance to ensure safe agricultural production. [Method/Process] Using 10 000 fruit tree leaf diseased spots image data sets, through image enhancement methods such as rotation, pollution, noise enhancement, and cutting to improve the diversity of sample images; using the ResNet-50 deep convolutional network model to perform machine learning to obtain the fruit tree diseases identification model, and develop application software based on this model to provide online diagnostic services. [Results/Conclusions] The experimental results show that the average recognition rate of the four fruit tree diseases reached 92.9%, which has a better diagnostic effect compared with related research results.

Abstract

Background: Indirect sampling methods are not only inexpensive but also efficient for establishing reference intervals (RIs) using clinical data. This study was conducted to select fully normal records to establish age- and gender-specific RIs for common biochemical analytes by laboratory data mining. Methods: In total, 280,206 records from 2014 to 2018 were obtained from Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Common biochemical analytes total protein, albumin, total bilirubin (TBil), direct bilirubin (DBil), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), glutamyltranspeptidase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), potassium, sodium, chlorine, calcium, urea, glucose, uric acid (UA), inorganic phosphorus, creatinine (Cr), total cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol] were measured using an automatic analyzer. Sources of variation were identified by multiple regression analysis. The 2.5th and 97.5th percentiles were calculated as the lower and upper limits of the RIs, respectively Results: Gender was the major source of variation among the 13 common biochemical analytes with an rp > 0.15. In contrast to the value listed in the WS/T 404, nearly all RIs established in this study were significantly narrower. Furthermore, age-specific RIs should be determined for DBil, LDH, and urea, whereas gender-specific RIs are suggested for GGT, LDH, and urea. Conclusions: We recommend that gender-specific RIs should be established for ALT, AST, GGT, DBil, TBil, UA, and Cr as well as gender- and age-specific RIs for urea and ALP. Through indirect sampling, age- and gender-specific RIs for common biochemical analytes were established and analyzed.
