61. A Rate of Convergence of Physics Informed Neural Networks for the Linear Second Order Elliptic PDEs

Abstract

In recent years, physical informed neural networks (PINNs) have been shown to be a powerful tool for solving PDEs empirically. However, numerical analysis of PINNs is still missing. In this paper, we prove the convergence rate to PINNs for the second order elliptic equations with Dirichlet boundary condition, by establishing the upper bounds on the number of training samples, depth and width of the deep neural networks to achieve desired accuracy. The error of PINNs is decomposed into approximation error and statistical error, where the approximation error is given in C2 norm with ReLU3 networks (deep network with activation function max{0,x3}) and the statistical error is estimated by Rademacher complexity. We derive the bound on the Rademacher complexity of the non-Lipschitz composition of gradient norm with ReLU3 network, which is of immense independent interest. ©2022 Global-Science Press

Abstract

Flexible photodetectors are pivotal in contemporary optoelectronic technology applications, such as data reception and image sensing, yet their performance and yield are often hindered by the challenge of heterogeneous integration between photoactive materials and flexible substrates. Here, we showcase the potential of an electrostatic force-assisted transfer printing technique for integrating Si PIN photodiodes onto flexible substrates. This clean and dry process eliminates the need for chemical etchants, making it a highly desirable method for manufacturing high-performance flexible photodetector arrays, expanding their widespread applications in electronic eyes, robotics, and human–machine interaction. As a demonstration, a 5 × 5 flexible Si photodetector focal plane array is constructed for imaging sensors and shaped into a convex semicylindrical form to achieve a π field of view with long-term mechanical and thermal stability. Such an approach provides a high yield rate and consistent performance, with the single photodetector demonstrating exceptional characteristics, including a responsivity of 0.61 A/W, a response speed of 39.77 MHz, a linear dynamic range of 108.53 dB, and a specific detectivity of 2.75 × 1012Jones at an applied voltage of −3 V at 940 nm.

81. Self-assembled peptides-modified flexible field-effect transistors for tyrosinase detection.

Abstract

Flexible biosensors have received intensive attention for real-time, non-invasive monitoring of cancer biomarkers. Highly sensitive tyrosinase biosensors, which are important for melanoma screening, remained a hurdle. Herein, high-performance tyrosinase-sensing field-effect transistor-based biosensors (bio-FETs) have been successfully achieved by self-assembling nanostructured tetrapeptide tryptophan-valine-phenylalanine-tyrosine (WVFY) on n-type metal oxide transistors. In the presence of target tyrosinase, the phenolic hydroxyl groups in WVFY are rapidly converted to benzoquinone with the consumption of protons, which could be detected potentiometrically by bio-FETs. As a result, the WVFY-modified bio-FETs exhibited an ultra-low detection limit of 1.9 fM and an optimal detection range of 10 fM to 1 nM toward tyrosinase sensing. Furthermore, flexible devices fabricated on ∼2.9-μm-thick polyimide (PI) substrates illustrated robust mechanical flexibility, which could be attached to human skin conformally.
