70. Chitosan-Assisted Fabrication of a Network C@V2O5Cathode for High-Performance Zn-Ion Batteries

Abstract

Vanadium oxide-based aqueous zinc-ion batteries exhibit promising potential due to their low cost and safety profiles. However, fabricating cathodes with outstanding electrochemical performance for Zn-ion batteries is still a challenge. Herein, network C@V2O5materials were prepared using a mild chitosan-assisted hydrothermal process. Coin-type cells, using network C@V2O5as a cathode, zinc film as an anode, and Zn(CF3SO3)2as an electrolyte, were also assembled, and the as-synthesized cathode delivered a high specific capacity of 361 mA h g–1at 0.5 A g–1and excellent cyclic stability. Specifically, after 2000 cycles, the capacity still remained about 71% of the initial value at 0.5 A g–1. Moreover, ex situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) characterizations confirmed that Zn-ion storage in the cathode was achieved through the reversible intercalation/extraction of Zn2+during the charge/discharge process. Therefore, the network C@V2O5cathode demonstrated potential applications for zinc-ion batteries.

Abstract

The Kangdian axis basement can be divided into two tectonic layers. The lower tectonic layer is the crystalline basement which is made up of the Archaean Dibadu Formation and early Proterozoic Dahongshan Group. The former is a kata-metamorphic basic volcano-sedimentary formation of the old geosyncline (old continental nucleus), and the latter is a medium-grade metamorphosed alkali-rich basic volcanic (emanation)-sedimentary formation of the Yuanjiang-Dahongshan marginal rift. They are in disconformable contact. The upper tectonic layer is the folded basement, and made up of the middle-late Proterozoic Kunyang Group. It is the result of Dongchuan-Yuanjiang intercontinental rifting with discordant contract with the underlying and overlying strata. Along with the evolution of Proterozoic from early to late, four types of emanation-sedimentary deposits in the Kangdian axis rift were formed in turn: (1) emanation-sedimentary iron-copper-gold deposits related to basic volcanic rocks in the Yuanmou-Dahongshan marginal rift; (2) emanation-sedimentary iron-copper deposits related to intermediate-basic volcanic rocks in the early stage of the Dongnchuan-Yuanjiang intercontinental rift;(3) emanation-sedimentary copper deposits related to sedimentary rocks in the middle stage;(4) copper deposits related to the late tectonic reworking. From early to late Proterozoic, with the evolution of the Kangdian axis rift and lowering volcanic basicity, the ore-forming elements also evolved from Fe, Cu and (Au) through Cu and Fe to Cu.

81. Engineering a Self-Assembled Protein Cage for Targeted Dual Functionalization

Abstract

Self-assembled protein cages are attractive scaffolds for organizing various proteins of interest (POIs) toward applications in synthetic biology and medical science. However, specifically attaching multiple POIs to a single protein cage remains challenging, resulting in diversity among the functionalized particles. Here, we present the engineering of a self-assembled protein cage, DTMi3ST, capable of independently recruiting two different POIs using SpyCatcher (SC)/SpyTag (ST) and DogCatcher (DC)/DogTag (DT) chemistries, thereby reducing variability between assemblies. Using fluorescent proteins as models, we demonstrate controlled targeting of two different POIs onto DTMi3STprotein cages both in vitro and inside living cells. Furthermore, dual functionalization of the DTMi3STprotein cage with a membrane-targeting peptide and β-galactosidase resulted in the construction of membrane-bound enzyme assemblies in Escherichia coli, leading to a 69.6% enhancement in substrate utilization across the membrane. This versatile protein cage platform provides dual functional nanotools for biological and biomedical applications.

86. Melatonin Induces Disease Resistance to Botrytis cinereain Tomato Fruit by Activating Jasmonic Acid Signaling Pathway

Abstract

Melatonin acts as a crucial signaling molecule with multiple physiological functions in plant response to abiotic and biotic stresses. However, the impact and regulatory mechanism of melatonin on attenuating tomato fruit fungal decay are unclear. In this study, we investigated the potential roles of melatonin in modulating fruit resistance to Botrytis cinereaand explored related physiological and molecular mechanisms. The results revealed that disease resistance was strongly enhanced by melatonin treatment, and 50 μM was confirmed as the best concentration. Melatonin treatment increased the activities of defense-related enzymes and decreased hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) content with enhanced antioxidant enzyme activities. Moreover, we found that melatonin treatment increased methyl jasmonate (MeJA) content; up-regulated the expressions of SlLoxD, SlAOC, and SlPI II; and reduced the expressions of SlMYC2and SlJAZ1. We postulated that melatonin played a positive role in tomato fruit resistance to Botrytis cinereathrough regulating H2O2level and JA signaling pathway.

Abstract

Networked control system (NCS) is a kind of closed 1oop control systems where the sensors, the controller and the actuators exchange data through network. Because the networks, in which the band width is limited, are introduced in the systems, some new issues appear unavoidably. At present, the research of networked control system becomes a focus area in control engineering. According to the characteristics of NCS, incremental predictive functional control (IPFC) strategy with random long time delay in NCS is proposed in this paper. Based on the strategy proposed controller design is given, which realized the compensation of NCS time delay. Simulation experiments are carried out, and simulation results confirmed that perfect compensation effect is obtained in the long time delay NCS with the control strategy proposed in this paper.

Abstract

Networked control system has many different characteristics compared with the traditional control system, so it is necessary to do some researches on strategies of networked control systems. In order to research in this area, establishing NCS simulation research platform is extremely important. A design scheme of NCS flexible researching platform is proposed, in which a switch and three computers are utilized to constitute a typical NCS, and the implementation of the scheme is completed well. Finally, with a typical second-order system model, some experiments under PID algorithm in different network load are carried out. From the experimental results, feasibility and effectiveness of the scheme of NCS research platform proposed in this paper are verified.
