Abstract

ı.öz Bu çalışmada 282'si kız, 673'ü erkek olmak üzere toplam 955 öğrenci yeme alışkanlıkları, yeme tutum değişiklikleri ve dissosiyatif yaşantılar ve depresif bulgular yönünden değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada Yeme Tutum Testi (EAT), Edinburg-Bulimia Araştırma Testi ( BİTE ), Dissosiyatif Yaşantılar Ölçeği (DES), Beck Depresyon Envanteri ( BDI ) ve sosyo demografik veri formu kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerde yeme tutumları, yeme alışkanlıkları, dissosiyatif yaşantıları ve depresif bulguların yaygınlığını belirlemek için her dört ölçekten yüzdelik dağılımlarına bakılmıştır. EAT, BITE, skorlarının DES ve BDI skorları ile ilişkisine, ayrıca sosyodemografık değişkenlerle ilişkisine bakılmıştır. Öğrencilerin, EAT skorları yapılan başka araştırmalardan yüksek bulunmuştur. BİTE skorlarından alına değereler diğer çalışmalardan düşük bulunmuş olup; BDI skorlarında ise kızlar erkeklerden daha yüksek puan almışlardır.DES skorları ise önceden yapılan çalışmalarla uyumludur.EAT ile BDI skorları arasında anlamlı ve negatif bir ilişki gözlenmiş olup ( r= -0.077 ). EAT-DES skorları incelendiğinde aralarında herhangi bir ilişki gözlenmemiştir. ( p>0.05 ). EAT-BITE ilişkisi anlamlı ve negatiftir ( r = -0.103 ). BİTE -BDI skorları arasında önemli ölçüde ilişki bulundu. BİTE -DES ilişkisi de oldukça anlamlıydı. ( r = 0.14 pO.0001 ). DES -BDI skorları da anlamlı ölçüde ilişkili bulundu. Yaş ile EAT, BDI, BİTE ve DES ilişkili bulunmadı. Aile yapısı ile DES skorları önemli ölçüde ilişkili, Aile yapısı EAT, Aile geliri BDI arasında da negatif bir ilişki, sınıf ile BDI arasında da pozitif bir korelasyon gözlendi. Sahip olunan kilo ile BİTE arasında ilişki gözlendi. Boy ile EAT, boy ile BİTE arasında anlamlı ölçüde ilişki, BİTE ile ideal kilo arasında da pozitif bir ilişki vardır. ABSTRACT In this study, (282 girls and 673 boys) totally 995 students were examined with the aspects of eating habits, differences of eating attitudes, dissociative experiments and depressive findings. Eaitgn Attitude Test (EAT), Bulimia Investigating Test -Edinburg (BITE), An Inventary for measuring Depression (BDI) and sociodemgraphic data form were used. To define the diffusions of eating attitudes, eating habits, dissociative experiments of the students; distributions of percentages were examined. The relation among the scores of EAT, BITE and DES, BDI and also sociodemgraphic variables. EAT scores of students were more than other studies. BITE scores were less and BDI scores of the girls were higher than the boys. DES scores were parallel to the previous ones. There was a significant and negative relation between EAT and BDI scores (r = -0.077) but there isn't any relation between EAT and DES scores (p> 0.05). The relation of EAT-BITE was significant and negative (r = -0.103). The relation of BITE-BDI scores was rather significant (r = 0.14 pO.0001). And DES-BDI scores were related with each other. There isn't any relation between age and EAT, BDI, BITE and DES. Family structure was concerned with DES scores; Negative relations between family structure and EAT, between family income and BDI; and a positive correlation between class and BDI were observed. A relation between weight and BITE was observed. There were significant relations between height and EAT, height and BITE. There was a positive relation between BITE and ideal weight. 52. Relationship between obesity and anxiety with nesfatin-1.

Abstract

Objective: Obesity is an important public health problem that is rapidly growing in the world. Obesity is a disease that causes multi-organ damage and death if not treated. Therefore, there are many research projects related to obesity. The relationship between obesity and the nesfatin 1 molecule was described for the first time in 2006. This 82-amino-acid molecule is related to satiety and is located in the hypothalamus. These molecules are secreted from neurons in areas where energy balance is regulated in the brain. This secretion suggests that the molecule can play a protective role against the development of obesity. However, in recent years, plasma levels of nesfatin in patients who develop obesity and psychiatric disorders are reported to be different from those in the healthy population. In our study, we aimed to detect levels of plasma nesfatin of highly anxious patients, low-anxious patients and non-obese healthy individuals and compare their results. Methods: Blood samples were collected into tubes containing EDTA (Becton Dickinson, USA). Centrifugation at 1300g is used to separate the plasma. The plasma was divided into Eppendorf tubes and then 1% concentration protease inhibitor cocktail (Sigma Aldrich, USA) was added. It was then stored at -20°C. Analysis was performed using the ELISA method with a commercial kit (RayBiotech, USA). SPSS 15.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Statistical significance level P <0.05 was adopted. After psychiatric interviews with patients, Hospital Anxiety and Depression (HAD) scale was applied and anxiety scores were evaluated. Results: The study involved totally 83 participants in 3 groups; obese-anxious (Group1) (n=29), obese-non-anxious (Group2) (n=29) and nonobese-nonanxious (Group3) (n=25). There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of age and sex structure. The nesfatin-1 levels of Group1, Group2 and Group3 were 28.4±7.1, 28.7±6.9 and 34.6±10.9, respectively. In terms of nesfatin-1 levels, there were statistically significant differences between Group3 and both Group1 (p=0.023) and Group2 (p=0.034). Conclusion: In our study, the measured nesfatin-1 levels of obese patients were found significantly lower compared with healthy controls independently of anxiety scores. There are many different data about nesfatin-1 in the literature, so we need further researches about this subject. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Objective: The White Bear Suppression Inventory (WBSI) is a self-report questionnaire measuring tendency to suppress unwanted intrusive thoughts. The aim of this study was to examine the reliability and validity of the WBSI in a Turkish sample., Method: Thirty patients who were diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) according to DSM-IV criteria and 47 healthy subjects were included in the study. Internal consistency and homogeneity were tested by Cronbach a and Pearson correlation analysis. Student's t test and Pearson correlation analysis were used for test-retest reliability. Validity was assessed by Student's t test in independent groups., Results: Psychometric analyses showed that the WBSI had a high internal consistency (a=0.92). All of the items' scores were positively correlated with the total scores. The items of the WBSI discriminated the patients with OCD from the healthy subjects except for item 5., Conclusions: The Turkish version of the WBSI has appropriate reliability and validity for assessing suppression tendency of unwanted intrusive thoughts.
