Methane is considered as a clean energy that is widely used in places with high environmental requirements. The increasing demand for methane exploration in polar and deep sea extreme environments has a positive role in carbon neutrality policies. As a result, there will be a gradual increase in exploration activities for deep sea methane resources. Methane sensors require high reliability but are prone to faults, so fault diagnosis and forecasting of gas sensors are of vital practical significance. In this work, a Gaussian-linearized transformer model with a tranquilized time-series decomposition method is proposed for fault diagnosis and forecasting tasks. Since the traditional transformer model requires more computational expense with time complexity of O (N2) and is not applicable to continuous-sequence prediction tasks, two blocks of the transformer are improved. First, a Gaussian-linearized attention block is modified for fault-diagnosis tasks so that its time complexity can be changed to O (N), which can reduce computational resources. Second, a model with proposed attention for fault forecasting replaces the traditional embedding block with a decomposed block, which can input the continuous sequence data to the model completely and preserve the continuity of the methane data. Results show that the Gaussian-linearized transformer improves the accuracy of fault diagnosis to 99% and forecasting with low computational cost, which is superior to that of traditional methods. Moreover, the least mean-square-error loss of fault forecasting is 0.04, which is lower compared with the traditional time series prediction models and other deep learning models, highlighting the great potential of the proposed transformer for fault diagnosis and fault forecasting of gas sensor arrays. Mastering the variations in the stability of a polarization vortex is fundamental for the development of ferroelectric devices based on polarization vortex domain structures. Some phase field simulations were conducted on PbTiO3 nanofilms with an initial polarization vortex under uniaxial tension or compression to investigate the conditions of vortex instability and the effects of aspect ratio of nanofilms and temperature on them. The instability of a polarization vortex is strongly dependent on aspect ratio and temperature. The critical compressive stress increases with decreasing aspect ratio under the action of compressive stress. However, the critical tensile stress first decreases and then increases with decreasing aspect ratio, then continues to decrease. There are two inflection points in the curve. In addition, an elevated temperature makes both the critical tensile and compressive stresses decline, and will also cause the aspect ratio corresponding to the inflection point to decrease. Molecular dynamics simulations based on the anisotropic shell model with the first-principles parameters are performed to investigate the void-mediated polarization vortex domain switching in compressed BaTi O 3 nanofilms. When a unit-cell-size void is located at the nanofilm center, the polarization configuration is in a single-vortex state instead of a multi-vortex state. For different void length fractions along the [100] lattice orientation, a cylindrical vortex is formed around the void while a few small vortexes nucleate closely above and/or below the void. With increasing void area fraction in the [100] plane, the vortex around the void gradually switches from clockwise to counterclockwise. Both the void shape and orientation have important effects on the vortex domain switching. A void near the model center tends to induce a clockwise vortex around it, a void in the lower left region of model to motivate a counterclockwise vortex, but a void in other locations to induce a closure domain with different switching degrees. In addition, it is found that the degree of closure domain switching could be kept if a void changes its location only in a small area. The molecular dynamics method based on the shell model is used to investigate the polarization configuration evolution in compressed BaTiO3 nanofilms with oxygen vacancy lattices of different volume fractions and positions. A clockwise closure domain surrounding a head-to-head domain is observed for a single oxygen vacancy nanofilm. With an increasing oxygen vacancy fraction, the closure domain around the vacancy becomes larger and gradually transforms its rotation direction from clockwise to counterclockwise. Inside the vacancy, except for the head-to-head domain remaining unchanged, the domain changes from a random configuration to a clockwise vortex, and finally to a segmented strip polydomain with 90°- and 180°-domain walls. For a single oxygen vacancy, its location region where the closure domain can occur is obtained, and the model center is a favored site for clockwise vortex nucleation. The closure domain partly changes its orientation if the oxygen vacancy shifts off the model center. In addition, homogeneous closure domains can occur when the vacancy changes its location within a small area. This study demonstrates the feasibility of tuning this kind of closure domain in ferroelectric nanofilms through external loadings and oxygen vacancies. Background: Sapria himalayana (Rafflesiaceae) is an endoparasitic plant characterized by a greatly reduced vegetative body and giant flowers; however, the mechanisms underlying its special lifestyle and greatly altered plant form remain unknown. To illustrate the evolution and adaptation of S. himalayasna, we report its de novo assembled genome and key insights into the molecular basis of its floral development, flowering time, fatty acid biosynthesis, and defense responses. Results: The genome of S. himalayana is ~ 1.92 Gb with 13,670 protein-coding genes, indicating remarkable gene loss (~ 54%), especially genes involved in photosynthesis, plant body, nutrients, and defense response. Genes specifying floral organ identity and controlling organ size were identified in S. himalayana and Rafflesia cantleyi, and showed analogous spatiotemporal expression patterns in both plant species. Although the plastid genome had been lost, plastids likely biosynthesize essential fatty acids and amino acids (aromatic amino acids and lysine). A set of credible and functional horizontal gene transfer (HGT) events (involving genes and mRNAs) were identified in the nuclear and mitochondrial genomes of S. himalayana, most of which were under purifying selection. Convergent HGTs in Cuscuta, Orobanchaceae, and S. himalayana were mainly expressed at the parasite–host interface. Together, these results suggest that HGTs act as a bridge between the parasite and host, assisting the parasite in acquiring nutrients from the host. Conclusions: Our results provide new insights into the flower development process and endoparasitic lifestyle of Rafflesiaceae plants. The amount of gene loss in S. himalayana is consistent with the degree of reduction in its body plan. The molecular dynamics method based on the shell model was used to investigate the polarization configuration evolution in a ferroelectric superlattice under a compressive strain that increases at a constant rate. The polarization curl was used to render the polarization configurations. The evolution of vortex domains in location, shape, and size as well as their relative movement and annihilation was observed in three dimensions. It was found that two clockwise-anticlockwise vortex arrays occur in different material layers simultaneously at a compressive strain of −0.05%. With increasing compressive strain, the vortexes continually change their locations, shapes, and sizes and possibly walk across the bimaterial interface. Their lengths could be shortened through being split in the middle or partially annihilating from both ends. Different from the single material case, there are three ways for polarization vortex annihilation to occur in ferroelectric superlattice structures. Vortexes neighboring the material interface or boundaries are inclined to annihilate first, and then the others inside the material annihilate by combining with their neighboring antivortexes.
