We investigated academic developmental trends in emergency medicine (EM) by analyzing the performance of EM journals. Data from the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) database for EM category journals, including journal titles, language, numbers, and impact factors (IFs) from 2000 to 2019 were collected. The aggregate IFs of EM and 11 other categories (cardiac and cardiovascular systems, clinical neurology, critical care medicine, gastroenterology and hepatology, infectious diseases, general and internal medicine, pediatrics, respiratory system, surgery, toxicology, and urology and nephrology) were collected from 2003 to 2019. The slope of the linear regression was used to evaluate the trend in EM journal IFs and the aggregate IFs of all categories. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the correlation between EM journals’ IF in 2000 and their IF trend from 2000 to 2019. The EM journal number increased from 8 (all in English) in 2000 to 31 (26 in English) in 2019. In total, 28 EM journals had a positive IF trend since their initial enrollment into the JCR database, and the trend was significant for 18 journals. The correlation of the EM journals’ IF in 2000 and IF trends from 2000 to 2019 was 0.75. The increasing trend of aggregate IF for the EM category was significant. In conclusion, the increased number, language diversity, and IF trend for EM journals indicates that the development of academic EM is a continuous international trend. In the past 20 years, the IF trend increased faster for EM journals with a higher initial IF. The overall performance of EM journals was non-inferior to other medical specialties. Given China's status as one of the most water-scarce countries globally, its rapid development of urbanization and sustained economic growth have led to increasing pressure on the urban water supply. Water pricing is also receiving increasing attention as an important tool for water resource management. This study analyzes the spatial and temporal characteristics of domestic water prices in China and their drivers. To this end, domestic water price data from 285 cities in China were collected. Spatial statistical analysis and geodetector were used to examine the spatial distribution and temporal patterns of domestic water prices from 2007 to 2020, as well as to identify the primary factors influencing these prices. The following results are noted: (1) The national average domestic water price has increased from 2 RMB/m3 to 3.12 RMB/m3, where the northeast and eastern regions have higher prices than the national average, while the central and western regions have lower prices. (2) The spatial distribution of urban domestic water prices presents clear differences characteristic of north–south and spatial agglomeration effects; the high-value area of domestic water prices is mainly concentrated in Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei. (3) On a national and regional scale, the price of domestic water is closely related to economic development, water resources, and resident's income level. Furthermore, this study revealed that the interaction between pairwise factors played a more significant role in influencing domestic water prices compared with the individual impact of each factor. This finding contributes to a deeper understanding of the spatiotemporal heterogeneity in domestic water pricing and offers valuable insights and guidance for water pricing reform in China. Introduction: Research activities have increased manifold due to the importance of scientific publication in advancing an academic career. Researchers find it strenuous to choose journals due to the availability of a higher number of scientific journals. Objectives: The objective of this study was to determine the various journal factors that affect its selection to publish research work and the motivating factors involved in it. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 219 dental professionals that included dental faculties, postgraduate students, and private dental practitioners of Odisha, through a self-administered questionnaire via Google Forms consisting of 15 items. Descriptive statistics and Chi-square test were used for statistical analysis with a level of significance set at 0.05. Results: Respondents were predominantly dental faculty (53%). Factors influencing journal selection were citation of the journal (89.4%), followed by impact factor and indexing of the journal. Less than half (42.4%) agreed to pay the publishing charges. It was observed that PubMed indexing was preferred, followed by Scopus. The reason to publish was different for faculty and postgraduate students. Conclusions: Researchers consider various factors before publishing in a journal with the intent of discoverability and recognition. The h-index has become more popular nowadays and is used for some scientific performance criteria worldwide. This indexing method does not correctly measure any performance or career specifications because of the parameters used to form the measurement basis. The h-index is located based on citation(C) and paper(N) parameters that involve no logical criterion on the counting process, and so measurement on this basis can only give quantity results not any quality information. Therefore, we need a new indexing instrument to find out also the scientific quality unique to an individual author even if that takes into account the effect of multiple coauthorships. Quantitative bibliometric indicators are widely used and widely misused for research assessments. Some metrics have acquired major importance in shaping and rewarding the careers of millions of scientists. Given their perceived prestige, they may be widely gamed in the current "publish or perish" or "get cited or perish" environment. This review examines several gaming practices, including authorship-based, citation-based, editorial-based, and journal-based gaming as well as gaming with outright fabrication. Different patterns are discussed, including massive authorship of papers without meriting credit (gift authorship), team work with over-attribution of authorship to too many people (salami slicing of credit), massive self-citations, citation farms, H-index gaming, journalistic (editorial) nepotism, journal impact factor gaming, paper mills and spurious content papers, and spurious massive publications for studies with demanding designs. For all of those gaming practices, quantitative metrics and analyses may be able to help in their detection and in placing them into perspective. A portfolio of quantitative metrics may also include indicators of best research practices (e.g., data sharing, code sharing, protocol registration, and replications) and poor research practices (e.g., signs of image manipulation). Background: The purposes of this study were to analyze the trends in Oxford level of evidence (LOE), LOE of most-cited articles, and association between LOE and journal impact factor (IF) and SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) over a 10-year period (2009-2018) in 3 prominent hand surgery journals, specifically HAND, Journal of Hand Surgery (American Volume) (JHS), and Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume) (JHSE). Methods: All articles published from 2009 to 2018 in HAND, JHS, and JHSE were reviewed for assigned or available LOE. Data were pooled and analyzed for trends in LOE; relationship among IF, SJR, and LOE; and citation density. Results: A total of 3921 total publications were tabulated from 2009 to 2018, with the majority of studies being level V (1700, 43%) and fewer studies being level I (146, 4%). Over the 10-year study period, there was no significant change in frequency of level I studies for any journal. HAND trended significantly toward higher LOE, JHS trended toward higher LOE, and JHSE trended toward decreased LOE without significance. Among all journals, the annual number of articles and the average LOE were independent significant predictors of IF and SJR. Statistically significant correlations were found between citation density and LOE for JHS and HAND. Conclusions: Higher quality evidence is becoming more prevalent in the hand surgery literature over the past 10 years. The manuscript processing timeline, a necessary facet of the publishing process, varies from journal to journal, and its influence on the journal impact needs to be studied. The current research looks into the correlation between the 'Peer Review Metrics' (submission to first editorial decision; submission to first post-review decision and submission to accept) and the 'Journal Impact Data' (2-year Impact Factor; 5-year Impact Factor; Immediacy Index; Eigenfactor Score and Article Influence Score). The data related to 'Peer Review Metrics' (submission to first editorial decision; submission to first post-review decision and submission to accept) and 'Journal Impact Data' (2-year Impact Factor; 5-year Impact Factor; Immediacy Index; Eigenfactor Score and Article Influence Score) were downloaded from the 'Nature Research' journals website https://www.nature.com/nature-portfolio/about/journal-metrics. Accordingly, correlations were drawn between the 'Peer Review Metrics' and the 'Journal Impact Data'. If the time from 'submission to first editorial decision' decreases, the 'Journal Impact Data' increases and vice versa. However, an increase or decrease in the time from 'submission to first editorial decision' does not affect the 'Eigenfactor Score' of the journal and vice versa. An increase or decrease in the time from 'submission to first post-review decision' does not affect any 'Journal Impact Data' and vice versa. If the time from 'submission to acceptance' increases, the 'Journal Impact Data' (2-year Impact Factor, 5-year Impact Factor, Immediacy Index and Article Influence Score) also increases, and if the time from 'submission to acceptance' decreases, so will the 'Journal Impact Data'. However, an increase or decrease in the time from 'submission to acceptance' does not affect the 'Eigenfactor Score' of the journal and vice versa. The study will act as a ready reference tool for the scholars to select the most appropriate submitting platforms for their scholarly endeavours. Furthermore, the performance and evaluative indicators responsible for a journal's overall research performance can also be understood from a micro-analytical view, which will help the researchers select appropriate journals for their future scholarly submissions. Lengthy publication timelines are a big problem for the researchers because they are not able to get the credit for their research on time. Since the study validates a relationship between the 'Peer Review Metrics' and 'Journal Impact Data', the findings will be of great help in making an appropriate journal's choice. The study can be an eye opener for the journal administrators who vocalise a speed-up publication process by enhancing certain areas of publication timeline. The study is the first of its kind that correlates the 'Peer Review Metrics' of the journals and the 'Journal Impact Data'. The study's findings are limited to the data retrieved from the 'Nature Research' journals and cannot be generalised to the full score of journals. The study can be extended across other publishers to generalise the findings. Due to developments in the field of fast transportation, increase in permitted speed and load capacity, moving loads can have significant effects on the dynamic forces of bridges. To consider the dynamic effect in the design of the structure, the dynamic impact factor is introduced as ratio of the dynamic response to the static response. Accurate evaluation of these coefficients helps in safe and economic designs for new bridges. However, the evaluation of the dynamic impact factor is difficult due to the vehicle-bridge interaction and the influence of many parameters that affect the dynamic impact factor, including the dynamic characteristics of the bridge and the vehicle, road surface conditions, vehicle speed, traffic conditions,. In this research, by applying live load of vehicles step by step and performing time history analysis, dynamic analysis under moving load has been done. Three different types of cable-stayed bridges with different spans and cable layouts have been investigated in the form of two-dimensional models. This study analyzes the impact coefficient of bending and shear forces of deck components and pylons, as well as the axial forces of cables, and the results are compared with the coefficients proposed in the design regulations. Also, the effect of changes in load passing speed on the dynamic impact factor in cable-stayed bridges has also been evaluated and studied. Academic publishing is the support for dissemination of research findings that constitute the grounds upon which new orientations and improvements are based on sharing breaking ideas, critical analyses of data, and argumentations that sustain the development of collaborative research projects. The wide diffusion of new scientific findings is pivotal to the progress of medical sciences, a salient feature of human societal fullness and intellectual welfare. In a practical way, the value of academic publishing can be ascertained by its capacity to reach a wide number of readers from different fields that may provide the soil for interactive projects. The challenges are numerous (Zul in Challenges in Academic Publishing; Navigating the Obstacles, 2023). An examination of the means developed to survey the individual performances of scientists, based on their publications, has led me to comment in this editorial on pitfalls that muddle the way to upstanding evaluations mainly based on irrelevant metrics. The arena of research is at an expanding pace. Due to the rise in number of researches, the acceptance rate for publication has been decreasing. This creates a lot of manuscript rejections and the re- searchers tends to submit their work in less known journals or publishers who offer quick publishing with a nominal publication cost. Such publishers may be predatory and can lead to loss of the re- search in a scientific cloud black hole, where the research is not acknowledged or identified and hence deemed to be of null value. It is therefore indispensable that every researcher, academician and educator to be aware of and be vigilant of such journals/publishers for individual work publication, peer publications or supervised publications or faculty promotions. The present review highlights important points for identification of predatory journals/publishers, guidance to avoid publishing in such journals and how to get research published in a good journal.

Modern science has been transformed by open access (OA) publishing levied a significant economic burden on the authors. This article analyzes the discrepancies among OA publication fees in pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutics. The observations comprise 160 OA journals and their corresponding Q ranking, SJR, H index, impact factor, country, and cost of publication. The OA fees were found to depend on the quality matrices, which was unexpected. Differences in OA fees raise ethical questions as OA fees are meant to cover the publication charges by the publishers or generate more revenues by taking advantage of the authors’ temptation to publish in high-impact journals. Despite our findings being based on limited sample size and belonging to a particular field (pharmacy), it will shed considerable light on the issue of discrepancies among APCs charged by OA journals.

The use of deep reinforcement learning algorithms for strategy formulation in supply chain management enables the nodes in the supply chain to better improve their management strategies. In this paper, a supply chain model is constructed as a starting point, and deep reinforcement learning algorithms are introduced on this basis. Firstly, the decision problem of uncertainty is handled by the reinforcement learning method of functions, and the DQN algorithm (deep neural network algorithm) is divided into two parts for iterative rules. Then the target network is established to make the iterative process more stable, to improve the convergence of the algorithm, evaluate the loss function in the training process of the network, and to determine its influence factor. Then the neural network is used to improve the iteration rule, improve the output layer, select the final action, and define the model expectation reward. Finally, the Bellman equation is fitted to the function by a deep neural network to calculate the final result. The experimental results show that by analyzing and constructing the cost of international logistics under supply chain management, the capacity utilization rate of ocean freight link is 57% The unloading link is 74% and the total capacity utilization rate is calculated as 76%. It shows that using deep reinforcement learning algorithms under international logistics supply chain management is feasible and necessary for improving the management strategy research of supply chains.

This paper uses an adaptive load-balancing algorithm to calculate an intelligent terminal platform on the basis of an enterprise financial information-sharing model. Firstly, a new server performance evaluation index is established based on the hierarchical analysis method, and the load performance of each node is reacted using the influence factors. Then a judgment matrix is constructed for the set of evaluation factors based on the change in the average load utilization rate of nodes. Finally, the results of the matrix are normalized to derive the evaluation weights of each node of the server, which completes the construction of the intelligent terminal platform. An enterprise’s quarterly bills for 2018-2020 were selected for analysis, and after running the financial information sharing, the processing time of a single voucher could be saved by 0.3 hours. It shows that the constructed information-sharing resource base can not only significantly reduce operation costs but also access the business data of subsidiaries at any time to effectively prevent operation risks.

In order to study the spatial pattern and geographical differentiation characteristics of traditional villages, this paper combines digital landscape technology to analyze the influencing factors of the distribution of traditional villages. Based on multi-source data, this paper reveals the spatial pattern and geographical differentiation characteristics of traditional villages with the help of GIS, RS and mathematical and statistical methods and systematically explores the inner mechanism and laws. It also combines digital landscape technology, which is in line with the trend of the times, and designs an image visual optimization model based on digital landscape technology so as to make the experimental analysis of the distribution of traditional villages more convenient. It is obtained that the 3D modeling errors using digital landscape technology are all lower than 1.12%, the 3D modeling errors of the overhead GIS 3D modeling method are between 3.21% and 4.58%, and the 3D modeling errors of the digital photography 3D modeling method are all higher than 4.82%. The distance from the urban center, population density, ethnic distribution, and average annual temperature was the main influencing factors, all of which exceeded the explanatory power of 0.4. Average annual rainfall, administrative center, and GDP per capita were the secondary influencing factors, with explanatory power over 0.15. Based on this study, the spatial distribution density of traditional socio-economic villages was more influenced by socio-economic factors, followed by physical geographic factors.

Background: Cochlear implantation (CI) outcomes in patients with auditory neuropathy (AN) are variable, which hampers patients' decisions on CI. Objective: This study aims to assess the outcomes of CI in individuals diagnosed with AN and to examine the various factors that may influence the effectiveness of this intervention. Methods: A total of 75 patients diagnosed with AN were included in the study. The hearing threshold, the score of categories of auditory performance (CAP), speech intelligibility rating (SIR), and speech audiometry were tested. Genetic testing was conducted by medical exome sequencing in 46 patients. Results: After CI, the average aided hearing threshold for patients with prelingual and post-lingual onset was 38.25 ± 6.63 dB and 32.58 ± 9.26 dB, respectively; CAP score improved to 5.52 ± 1.64 (p < 0.001) and 6.00 ± 0.96 (p < 0.001), respectively; SIR score increased to 3.57 ± 1.22 (p < 0.001) and 4.15 ± 0.95 (p < 0.001), respectively. Maximum speech recognition ranged from 58 to 93% for prelingual onset patients and 43 to 98% for those with post-lingual onset. Speech outcomes of CI in cases with cochlear nerve (CN) deficiency were significantly poorer (p = 0.008). Molecular etiologies, including TWIST1, ACTG1, m.A7445G, and a copy-number variant (CNV) carrying ACTB, were related to AN here. Objectives: To investigate intra-specialty citation patterns of radiology articles, compared with another medical specialty: gastroenterology/hepatology. Methods: Four radiology journals (Radiology, European Radiology, Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging, Canadian Association of Radiologists Journal) and four gastroenterology/hepatology journals (Journal of Hepatology, Journal of Gastroenterology, World Journal of Gastroenterology, Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology) with similar Web of Science in-category 2020 IF ranking were selected. The original research, review, letter, and editorial articles published in these journals in 2021 were identified. The average number of intra-specialty citations per article (intra-specialty citation count) and percentage of intra-specialty citations out of total citations per article (intra-specialty citation rate) were compared between radiology and gastroenterology/hepatology articles using Student's t -test. Results: The radiology articles demonstrated a lower total citation count per article (radiology: 29.7 ±.4 (mean ± SEM), n = 2063; gastroenterology/hepatology: 50.1 ± 1.4, n = 1335). The intra-specialty citation count was also lower in radiology articles than gastroenterology/hepatology articles (radiology: 12.9 ±.2, gastroenterology/hepatology: 19.6 ±.7; P <.001), both overall and in all article types. Additionally, the overall intra-specialty citation rate was not significantly different between the two specialties (radiology: 48.8% ±.5%; gastroenterology/hepatology: 47.1 ±.8%; P =.057), although the intra-specialty citation rates were higher in radiology original research and editorial article types. Conclusions: The significantly lower per-article intra-specialty citation counts in all radiology article types, a measurement that directly links to specialty IFs, may contribute to the lower impact factors of radiology journals compared with gastroenterology/hepatology ones. Objectives: Bibliometric analysis is one of the most widely used tools to quantify the research prolificacy in a specific area of knowledge. This paper aims to provide a list of the top 100 cited articles published between 2010 and 2021 on dental fluorosis to offer an up-to-date quantitative-qualitative analysis of publications. Methods: The Scopus database was reviewed with the term "dental fluorosis" in the title, abstract, and keywords to retrieve lists of the 100 most-cited articles on 16 December 2021. The number of citations, authors, publication year, country, and institution of origin were evaluated. A graphical illustration of keywords, co-authors, and countries was created using VOSviewer. Results: The number of citations of the 100 articles varied from 654 to 42. All the studies were published in English and 62% were published in journals in the first quartile. The articles were published in 62 different journals, with the most popular publication being the Journal of the American Dentistry and Science of The Total Environment (n=5). The papers originated from 40 countries, with India (n=26) accounting for the largest number. The most prolific authors were A. M. Glenny and H.V. Worthington (n=5), and the institution was Manchester University (n=8). The majority of articles were on Environmental Science (n=39), followed by Dentistry and Medicine (n=26). Conclusions: The present citation analysis provides insights into the current publications in dental fluorosis and will help researchers interested in this topic by saving considerable effort and time in finding appropriate article referrals. Agricultural production, urbanization, and other anthropogenic activities, the major causes of surface water pollution in China, have dramatically altered hydrological processes and nutrient cycles. Identifying and quantifying the key factors affecting water quality are essential for the better prevention and management of water pollution. However, due to the limitations of traditional statistical analysis methods, it is difficult to evaluate the spatial changes and interactions of influencing factors on water quality. In addition, research on a national scale is difficult, as it involves large-scale and long-term water quality monitoring work. In this study, we collected and collated the monthly average concentrations of four water quality parameters, dissolved oxygen, ammonia nitrogen, chemical oxygen demand, and total phosphorous, based on data from 1547 water quality monitoring stations in China. The combined pollution level of the water quality was assessed using the water quality index. Based on the water quality characteristics, water quality monitoring sites in the dry and wet seasons were grouped using k-means clustering. Eleven environmental factors were evaluated using geodetector software, including six human factors and five natural factors. The results showed that there are high-risk areas for water quality pollution in the eastern and southeastern coastal regions of China in both the dry and wet seasons and that surface water pollution in China is highly spatial heterogenous in both the dry and wet seasons. Among the anthropogenic factors, urban land area is the main factor of water quality pollution in the dry season, and the explanation rate of spatial heterogeneity of integrated water quality pollution index is 20.3%. The number of poultry farms and the area of farmland explained 12.4% and 12.1% of the integrated water quality pollution index in the wet season. The nonlinear relationship between these three anthropogenic and natural factors and their interaction exacerbated water quality pollution. Based on this analysis, we identified the key factors affecting surface water quality in China during the dry and wet seasons, evaluated the achievements of the water environmental protection policies in China in recent years, and proposed future management measures for the effective prevention and control of water quality pollution in high-risk areas. This study investigated the peer‐reviewed journal publication outlets and impact of school psychology faculty research from the years 2016 through 2020. The National Association of School Psychologists website was used to identify 972 faculty from 195 doctoral and nondoctoral school psychology programs. Faculty publications were identified through a Google Scholar search and using published faculty curriculum vitaes. Journal h‐index impact factors and 2‐year citation rates were collected through SCImago. There were a total of 4354 articles published across 1125 journals during the 5‐year span. The journals Psychology in the Schools, Contemporary School Psychology, and School Psychology were where school psychology faculty published the most and accounted for 13% of the total publications. The average 2‐year citation rate for all journals was 2.83 and the average h‐index for all journals was 69.62. Discussion focuses on the historical and recent trend of school psychology faculty publications and the expanding range of nonschool psychology journals in which faculty publish. Practitioner Points: School Psychology faculty members are more likely to publish in nonschool psychology journals than in school psychology journals. The role of self-citation has not been discussed in the neurosurgery literature, although citations, citation indices, and impact of research may enhance funding opportunities, academic positions, fellowship opportunities, employment, and professional identity development. We sought to assess the magnitude and role of self-citation in academic neurosurgery. We performed a retrospective analysis of the citation and self-citation rates of articles published in 2001–2020 in 7 major neurosurgery journals: Acta Neurochirurgica, Journal of Neurosurgery , Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics, Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine , Neurosurgery , Neurosurgical Review , and World Neurosurgery. The total number of citations was highest for Journal of Neurosurgery and lowest for Neurosurgical Review. Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine had the highest average number of citations per article, followed closely by Journal of Neurosurgery. The self-citation rate increased for all journals over the time period 2001–2020. The highest number of self-citations per article during 2016–2020 was seen in Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics and World Neurosurgery. Neurosurgical Review had the lowest number of self-citations per article. Academic neurosurgeons must understand the ecosystem around self-citation. In our study, we found overall low levels of self-citations in neurosurgery journals with a few outliers. We have, however, noticed an increasing trend in self-citation rates. Self-citation rates should be considered while evaluating the impact of an author and research productivity. Introduction: The dehiscence of the posterior semicircular canal is a rare vestibulopathy, of low prevalence and whose symptomatology is explained by the phenomenon of the third window. It was not until 2003 that Krombach described the first cases. Objective: Evaluate the scientific production about the dehiscence of the posterior semicircular canal (DCSP) by a bibliometric and thematic analysis and observes its incidence at the scientific community level. Method: A search with subsequent review, selection and study was carried out using items related to DCSP indexed in the Pubmed, Web of Science, Alcorze and Scopus databases, from 2003 to 2019, selecting a total of 90 articles. Results: The 90 articles have been published in a total of 48 magazines. 52% were originals, 38% clinical cases, 9% reviews and 1% conferences. Clinical (32%) and etiology (27%) were the main themes. The articles were written in eight different languages, predominantly English (85%), and the United States has been the country with the highest number of publications (42%). Institutional activity and authorship rates are low. The quality of the journals is high: 70% of the publications were in the Q1-Q2 quartiles. The main area corresponds to otorhinolaryngology, with a total of 66 works, followed by radiology (14). The total number of downloads was 6958, with an average of 77.31 per article and the total citations were 1193, 13.25 per article. Conclusions: The bibliometric results reveal how the works on dehiscence of the posterior semicircular canal present a small scientific production, the subject is in a phase of sustained growth, the authorship, institutional and collaboration index are low, the publications are concentrated in a few journals of high quality and important visualization, with a clearly anglophone orientation [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Modern science has been transformed by open access (OA) publishing levied a significant economic burden on the authors. This article analyzes the discrepancies among OA publication fees in pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutics. The observations comprise 160 OA journals and their corresponding Q ranking, SJR, H index, impact factor, country, and cost of publication. The OA fees were found to depend on the quality matrices, which was unexpected. Differences in OA fees raise ethical questions as OA fees are meant to cover the publication charges by the publishers or generate more revenues by taking advantage of the authors' temptation to publish in high-impact journals. Despite our findings being based on limited sample size and belonging to a particular field (pharmacy), it will shed considerable light on the issue of discrepancies among APCs charged by OA journals. The box girder bridges constructed by prestressing the girders have been widely adopted to avoid the high dead load of the girders and for better performance during the service life. The loss of prestress may affect its performance and service life. Hence proper monitoring of such bridges with minimum efforts are useful for maintenance of the bridge. The correct estimation of the Impact Factor due to vehicle bridge interaction force is essential for designing such bridges. The presence of prestress in bridges influences the responses of bridges and vehicles moving over them. This paper provides the results of the finite element analysis of dynamic interaction between a vehicle and a simply supported pre-stressed box beam bridge. The interaction was conducted using ABAQUS software. Numerical simulations were conducted to show the effects of vehicle speed and road surface roughness profile on the mid-span displacement responses of the internal and external pre-stress box beams of the bridges. Thereafter, the influence of important parameters, namely, pre-stress force, road surface condition, and vehicle speed on the impact factor was investigated. Furthermore, it has been found that the maximum vertical vehicle acceleration response is sensitive to the prestress level and could be used to detect the percentage of prestress. The key to coping with climate change is to control carbon emissions from energy consumption. Scientific prediction of energy consumption carbon emissions based on influencing factors is of great significance to the determination of carbon control aim and emission reduction strategies. Given the lack of previous studies on county-level carbon emissions, this paper proposed a systematic approach to study the influencing factors of county-level energy consumption carbon emissions and to predict future emissions. Firstly, the annual energy consumption carbon emissions were calculated based on the method proposed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Then the expanded Kaya equation and existing research were combined to select influencing factors for the establishment of the optimal Stochastic Impacts by Regression on Population, Affluence, and Technology (STIRPAT) model, which was used to quantitatively analyze the influencing factors of carbon emissions from energy consumption at the county level. Finally, the emission reduction aims and low-carbon strategies were determined based on scenario analysis. The method was applied to Changxing, a typical county with large energy consumption and carbon emissions. Based on 16 years of data, the STIRPAT carbon emission prediction model was established and the forecast results of future emissions under three different scenarios were obtained. The results indicated that population size, industrial structure, and affluence degree were the three most influential factors, and the influence degree of each factor was quantified to support targeted low-carbon strategies for county-level cities. The rich history of optometric journal publications has been well documented, but the scientific impact of all optometry journals over all time has not been published. This work aims to determine the most impactful papers, authors, institutions and countries publishing in optometry journals. A h-index for "optometry journal publications" (the "hOJP-index") was derived for each constituent of each category to serve as a measure of impact. The h0Jp-index for the 34,565 papers published in all optometry journals is 136; these papers have been cited 294,239 times. Optometry and Vision Science is the most impactful and prolificjournal (hOJP=118; n=13,095 papers). The most highly cited paper, by Richard Armstrong, is entitled "When to use the Bonferroni correction" (1,172 citations). Australian optometrist Nathan Efron is the most impactful and prolific author (hOJP=41; n=273). UNSW Sydney and the University of California, Berkeley are the most impactful institutions (both hOJP==58), and UNSW Sydney is the most prolific (n=963). The most impactful and prolific nation is the United States (hOJP=109; n=12,050). Objective: Assess the accuracy of abstracts in published veterinary ophthalmology articles. Procedures: Abstracts and contents of 204 original research articles in veterinary ophthalmology published in seven peer‐reviewed journals between 2016–2020 were reviewed. Abstracts were considered inconsistent if they contained data that were either missing from or inconsistent with corresponding data in the article's body. Each abstract was graded between 0 (inaccurate) to 3 (accurate), and each inconsistency was subjectively classified as minor or major. The influence of selected variables was assessed: journal, impact factor, year of publication, number of words in abstract, study type (prospective/retrospective), and characteristics of the corresponding author [institution (academia/private practice), country of domicile (native/non‐native English), number of publications]. Results: Most abstracts were accurate, with 1%, 4%, 9% and 86% receiving a score of 0, 1, 2 and 3, respectively. When detected, most inconsistencies were considered minor (77%). Although not statistically significant (p ≥.130), the proportion of articles with a perfect score (=3) was higher in prospective (88%) vs. retrospective (81%) studies, academia (88%) vs. private practice (78%), and studies from corresponding authors domiciled in English (89%) vs. non‐English (83%) speaking countries. A significant but very weak (r = −0.15 to −0.19; p ≤.034) negative correlation was found between accuracy score and number of words, as well as 1‐year and 5‐year impact factors. Conclusions: Although relatively uncommon, data in abstracts that are inconsistent or missing from the article's body do occur in veterinary ophthalmology articles, and could adversely influence a reader's interpretation of study findings. Late Paleozoic strata in the southeastern Ordos Basin comprise targeted reservoirs for tight gas exploration. As a typical intracratonic basin, the Ordos Basin is characterized by low-accommodation space and a complex sediment infilling process, which attracts much attention. During the early Permian, the southeast area was fed by sediments from multiple sediment sources, which makes it difficult to identify the pinch-out of the sand bodies and reconstruct the sediment routing system. In this study, we reconstruct the paleo-topography of the late Paleozoic setting using high-resolution 2D and 3D seismic data. Thus, we identify two types of topography: the eastern block is presented as a semiclosed depression, and the western block is observed as a flat platform. Based on detrital zircon U–Pb data and heavy mineral assemblages, we reconstruct the provenance area and show that early Permian sediments originate from the northern margin of the Ordos Basin and from the northern Qinling orogenic belt in the south. By integrating the trace element contents, carbon and oxygen isotope data and sedimentary structure from core samples, we can observe the paleoenvironment and the corresponding facies associations in these blocks. The eastern block was infilled by a prograding delta; the western block was infilled by a tide-dominated delta or a wavy-dominated delta. By using stratigraphic forward modelling, we find that most sediments in the semiclosed setting are progradational and intensely interacted. In contrast, the sediments in the western block present an open setting, infilled and gently interacted. The fine-grained deposits were not easily preserved due to tidal or wave reworking processes in the shallow-water marine setting, and they were transported into deep-water areas. Furthermore, to explore the dominant factors in a pattern of fluvial–deltaic sand bodies formed in the low-accommodation basin, we rebuild the sediment routing system parameters and plot them on a bubble chart. According to the fitness between the depositional volume and the above parameters, we determine the key factors in the routing systems that formed. The results show that the sediment supply has a high relevance to the depositional volume in a semiclosed setting, such as the eastern block, while the terrain height may drive sedimentation in an open marine setting, such as the western block. We demonstrate that two different infill patterns and different sand-body stacking patterns with multiple sediment sources in a low-accommodation basin may serve as a model for similar settings.
