Penelitian ini membahas tentang Nadran, yakni upacara yang dilakukan oleh para nelayan dengan maksud mewujudkan rasa syukur para nelayan atas hasil tangkap laut. Nadran ini bertujuan sebagai suatu pengharapan masyarakat agar ditingkatkan kembali hasil tangkap laut di masa mendatang. Selain itu juga upacara nadran ini bertujuan untuk mengharapkan keselamatan atau tolak bala. Oleh sebab itu, upacara nadran dilakukan secara rutin. Dalam upacara ini terdapat pencampuran budaya. Hal ini terlihat dalam prosesi ritual upacara nadran yaitu dalam pembukaan upacara nadran masyarakat desa Dadap melakukan tahlilan, serta ditutup dengan melakukan manaqiban, kegiatan tersebut biasanya dilakukan oleh masyarakat yang menganut agama Islam. selain itu juga terdapat persembahan sesaji yang biasa dilakukan oleh masyarakat beragama Hindu. Dalam ritual agama Hindu, sesaji ini sebagai sesuatu penghormatan roh leluhur kepada penguasa laut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana masyarakat Desa Dadap mengelola pertemuan budaya lokal dan agama Islam. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode etnografi. Kesimpulanny adalah, bahwa sebab terjadinya perbedaan kepercayaan masyarakat Dadap mengenai perayaan nadran yaitu di latar belakangi oleh pemahaman terhadap agama Islam yang berbeda.

Background: Pharmaceutical care for non-communicable diseases (NCD) in Indonesia needs improvement especially in provinces like Kalimantan Selatan (Kalsel) with increasing NCD prevalence. This research explored possible improvements for Kalsel pharmacists NCD Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes., Objectives: The study aims to identify Kalsel pharmacists' engagement with, experiences of, and expectations for NCD-focused CPD activities, and CPD stakeholders' views on these expectations., Methods: This sequential mixed-methods study used a quantitative survey to map Kalsel pharmacists' CPD engagement and preferences. The survey findings, and Kalsel pharmacists' knowledge and skills in NCD management, were further explored in four geographically-diverse focus group discussions (FGDs). Triangulated findings from the survey and FGDs were presented to pharmacist CPD stakeholders in a modified Nominal Group Technique (NGT) discussion, resulting in a prioritised list of CPD activities and allocation of local leadership for each activity., Results: The survey response rate was 51% (249/490) with fair representation of the geographic spread. CPD sessions were seen as a social event to network with colleagues (34%) and improve knowledge (31%). Major hindrances for participation were work commitments (25%) and travel needs (22%). Most participants (64%), especially the more senior, preferred explicitly interactive CPD formats (adjusted odds ratio 0.94 for each additional year from graduation; 95% confidence interval 0.89-0.99; p = 0.036). The FGDs identified challenges in managing NCD, strengths and gaps in NCD knowledge, and preferences for NCD CPD. The modified NGT produced 12 actions which five major stakeholders agreed to lead., Conclusions: An explicitly interactive NCD CPD programme based on a community of practice model and supported by blended learning is likely to be most effective for pharmacists in the Kalimantan Selatan province of Indonesia. Objectives: The use of modern technology and social media has revolutionized the way health information is distributed to diabetes mellitus patients. Social media can be used as a medium of providing health interventions to improve patient health outcomes. Social media is able to provide a more intensive communication facility between healthcare professionals and patients. We aim to systematically review and describe the effect of social media interventions on health outcomes of patients with diabetes mellitus., Methods: A systematic review was carried out from three electronic databases (Pubmed, Scopus, and Medline). Eligible publications are studies that describe the application of social media interventions on the health outcomes of patients with diabetes mellitus., Results: Fourteen studies were selected for this systematic review, 10 studies with a randomized controlled trial design, and 4 studies with a nonrandomized controlled trial design. Six studies only used interventions using social media, A blend of face-to-face social media intervention was used in 6 studies, 2 studies used a combination of telephone and social media intervention. One study had treatment behavior outcomes with improvement in treatment behavior, 6 studies had clinical outcomes (an improvement in HbA1c values in the four studies), 6 studies had treatment behavior outcomes and clinical outcomes (1 study had improved treatment behavior and clinical outcomes, 3 studies had improved treatment behavior outcome only), and 1 study had medication adherence outcome (no improvement in medication adherence)., Conclusions: These findings indicate that the intervention using social media can improve the health outcomes of diabetes mellitus patients., (© 2021 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.)

The DUF1094 family contains over 100 bacterial proteins, all containing a conserved CXC motif, with unknown function. We solved the crystal structure of the Bacillus subtilis representative, the product of the yphP gene. The protein shows remarkable structural similarity to thioredoxins, with a canonical alphabetaalphabetaalphabetabetaalpha topology, despite low amino acid sequence identity to thioredoxin. The CXC motif is found in the loop immediately downstream of the first beta-strand, in a location equivalent to the CXXC motif of thioredoxins, with the first Cys occupying a position equivalent to the first Cys in canonical thioredoxin. The experimentally determined reduction potential of YphP is E degrees' = -130 mV, significantly higher than that of thioredoxin and consistent with disulfide isomerase activity. Functional assays confirmed that the protein displays a level of isomerase activity that might be biologically significant. We propose a mechanism by which the members of this family catalyze isomerization using the CXC catalytic site.
