Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a class of noncoding RNAs longer than 200 nucleotides. They were long regarded as transcription noise for their low expression and non-protein coding features. Recent published reports indicate that lncRNAs are involved in virtually every aspect of human biology. We aimed to profile the endometrial lncRNA expression pattern in women with recurrent implantation failure (RIF) and predict the function of the genes of the dysregulated lncRNA transcripts. Endometrial samples (24) were collected during window of implantation (14 RIF women and 10 women who conceived after embryo transfer). For the microarray study, 7 RIF endometrium and 5 control endometrium were selected, and quantitative real-time PCR (RT-qPCR) was performed on the rest of the endometrial samples to validate the microarray results. After that, lncRNA-mRNA co-expression analysis, GO analysis, KEGG analysis, and lncRNA-transcript factor (TF) analysis were carried out to analyze the gene functions of the dysregulated lncRNA transcripts. We detected a total of 197 lncRNA transcripts that were dysregulated in RIF endometrium compared with the control group. The relative expression levels of eight selected lncRNA transcripts were validated by RT-qPCR and were in accordance with the microarray outcomes. GO and KEGG analyses revealed that the coexpressed mRNA transcripts were involved in pathways that may affect endometrial receptivity such as cell adhesion. The lncRNA target predictions provided potential TF targets of the dysregulated lncRNA transcripts. Our results indicate that lncRNA expression profiles of RIF endometrium were different from that of normal receptive endometrial, suggesting that lncRNAs may regulate endometrial receptivity. Tubal diverticula is a rare disease, and the literature includes only a few reports of this condition. We tentatively summarized 13 cases to investigate the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment of tubal diverticula. The clinical manifestations, diagnosis at hysterosalpingography (HSG), surgical treatment, and pregnancy rates of the 13 cases were retrospectively analyzed. Tubal diverticula is more prevalent in women with endometriosis than in infertile patients (6.7% vs 2.1%; p = .000). Eleven patients (84.6%) had endometriosis, which was in an early stage (I or II) in 9 patients (81.8%). HSG may reveal accumulation of radiopaque contrast medium around the distal end of the tubes, suggesting the presence of diverticula. All 13 cases were diagnosed via laparoscopy, and the diverticula were resected during surgery. Eleven of the 13 patients (84.6%) had ≥2 subtle tubal abnormalities. The pregnancy rate in 9 of the 11 patients with tubal diverticula was 81.8%, with 1 ectopic pregnancy (11.1%) and 1 spontaneous abortion (12.5%). HSG may be helpful in enabling the diagnosis of tubal diverticula. It is important that tubal diverticula be diagnosed via laparoscopy with use of diluted methylene blue dye and careful evaluation.

A new method named the production of aryl oxygen-containing compounds via catalytic pyrolysis of bagasse lignin (BL) over perovskites, La0.8M0.2FeO3 (M = La, Ca, Sr, Ba) was proposed. La0.8M0.2FeO3 (M = La, Ca, Sr, Ba) samples were synthesized by the sol-gel method (SG) and characterized by XRD, SEM, BET and XPS, and their catalytic pyrolysis performances were evaluated by the test of TG and the evaluation of the fixed bed microreactor. Under the action of perovskites, the pyrolysis of BL was promoted, the yields of gaseous and solid products decreased while the yield of liquid products increased by 10–20%; decarboxylation and decarbonylation could be inhibited, and it was conducive to the fracture of aliphatic hydrocarbon side chains on aromatic rings, as a result, the selectivity of CO2/CO decreased while the selectivity of hydrocarbons in gaseous products increased; the total selectivity of aryl oxygen-containing compounds increased from 56 wt.% in the liquid product obtained from pure BL pyrolysis to more than 69 wt.% in that of catalytic pyrolysis of BL. The spent catalyst was regenerated after controlled combustion of solid product — char, and it showed good structural and catalytic stabilities after 5 successful redox cycles.

Patients who undergo several in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment cycles and fail to conceive present a frustrating problem to the clinician. When 1 cycle of IVF treatment fails, should we offer the couples to choose additional cycle of IVF instead of evaluation of the potential peritoneal factor? In cases of otherwise unexplained infertility, the investigation cannot be considered to be complete until laparoscopy has been performed. The aim of the study is to investigate the fertility outcome of laparoscopic treatment in infertile women with repeated IVF failures. This is a retrospective case-control study conducted in a tertiary care, academic teaching hospital from January 2012 to December 2015. Patients recruited in this study were classified into 2 groups. Study group (n = 45) were offered laparoscopy for evaluation of infertility, control group (n = 45) elected to proceed to IVF without laparoscopy. Diagnostic laparoscopy and subsequent excision of suspected endometriotic lesions, lysis of adhesion and treatment of tubal pathology were performed when indicated. Forty-four (97.8%) patients in study had pelvic pathologies and the treatment was performed at the same time. Twenty-four patients in study group conceived including 16 patients conceived spontaneously and 14 patients conceived with additional IVF following laparoscopy management. There was a significant difference in the ongoing pregnancy rates between patients conceived through IVF in study group and control group (41.9% vs 19.6%, P

To investigate the effects of music therapy on the pain behaviors and survival of rats with bone cancer pain and analyze the mediating mechanism of mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction pathway.Male Wistar rats aged 5-8 weeks and weighing 160-200 g were collected. The rat models of colorectal cancer bone cancer pain was successfully established. Animals were divided into experimental and control group, each with 10 rats. The animals in the observation group were given Mozart K448 sonata, sound intensity of 60 db, played the sonata once every 1 hr in the daytime, stopped playing during the night, and this cycle was kept for 2 weeks. On the other hand, rats in the control group were kept under the same environment without music.Animals in the experimental group consumed more feed and gained significant weight in comparison to the control group. The tumor volume of the experimental group was significantly smaller than that of the control group (p0.05). After 1-2 weeks of treatment, spontaneous foot withdrawal reflection caused by pain in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group, heat pain threshold and free walking pain scoring in the experimental group were also significantly higher as compared with the control group (p0.05). The expression of p38á and p38β in animals' spinal cord and dorsal root ganglion was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group (p0.05).Music therapy may improve the pain behaviors in rats with bone cancer pain, which might be related with low expression of p38á and p38β in the MAPK signal transduction pathway.

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in a rat endometriosis model. After surgical induction of endometriosis, 3 rats were killed, and explants were measured in the remaining 19 rats, which were then randomly assigned to 4 groups. Group 1 (n = 4) received normal saline (2 mL/d intragastric [IG]), group 2 (n = 4) gestrinone (0.5 mg/kg/d IG), group 3 (n = 5) ATP (3.4 mg/kg/d IG), and group 4 (n = 6) ATP (1.0 mg/kg/d; intramuscularly), respectively. Four weeks after medication, they were euthanized to evaluate histological features of explants and eutopic uterine tissues. To test the effect of ATP on the growth of eutopic endometrium stromal cells, proliferation rates of hEM15A cells at 24, 48, and 72 hours after treatment with different concentrations of ATP and vehicle control were detected with the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) method. There was a significant difference between pretreatment and posttreatment volumes within group 2 (positive control; P = .048) and group 4 (P = .044). On condition that pretreatment implant size was similar in both groups (P = .516), regression of explants in group 4 was significantly higher than that in group 1 (negative control; P = .035). Epithelial cells were significantly better preserved in group 1 than in group 3 (P = .008) and group 4 (P = .037). The CCK-8 assay showed no significant difference in proliferation among hEM15A cells treated with ATP and controls. These results suggest that ATP regresses endometriotic tissues in a rat endometriosis model but has no impact on the growth of eutopic endometrium stromal cells.

To investigate the effect of Kiss-1 gene suppression on the metastatic capacity of HCT116 human colorectal carcinoma cells in vitro and the involvement of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway.A recombinant lentiviral vector of Kiss-1 gene pGC-LV-Kiss-1-EGFP or the empty vector was transfected in HCT116 cells. Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK8) and Transwell chamber assay were used to detect the changes in cell proliferation, invasion and migration ability after the transfection. Western blotting was used to detect the expression of I-κB, the inhibitive protein of NF-κB signal pathway, and the expression of the downstream effector MMP-9 before and after transfection. In cells over-expressing Kiss-1, I-κB expression increased and MMP-9 expression decreased significantly compared to those in the blank control and vector-transfected cells (P0.05). Kiss-1 gene over-expression resulted in significant inhibition of HCT116 cell proliferation, invasion, and migration as compared to the control cells (P0.05).Lentivirus-mediated Kiss-1 gene over-expression can inhibit the proliferation, invasion, and migration of HCT116 cells via the NF-B signaling pathway.

Objective To investigate the clinical features of fallopian tube accessory ostium and treatment outcomes after laparoscopic treatment. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted of patients who underwent laparoscopy for infertility at Peking University People’s Hospital, Beijing, China, between June 1, 2009, and January 31, 2012. Fallopian tube accessory ostium was treated surgically when identified. Other procedures were conducted simultaneously, if indicated. Patients were interviewed by telephone every 6 months after treatment. Results Among 1113 patients who underwent laparoscopy for infertility, 21 (1.9%) were diagnosed with fallopian tube accessory ostium. Furthermore, 19 (90.5%) of these 21 women were diagnosed with pelvic endometriosis. Accessory ostium was identified in 19 (4.7%) of 403 women with endometriosis versus 2 (0.3%) of 710 women without endometriosis ( P = 0.001). Among 18 patients with accessory ostium who completed follow-up and wished to conceive, 12 (66.7%) conceived after surgery, one of whom experienced a spontaneous abortion. No ectopic pregnancies occurred. Conclusion Accessory ostium was confirmed by a thorough examination of the entire fallopian tube, especially the distal portion, during laparoscopy. Patients experienced satisfactory outcomes after surgical intervention.

Various phthalates are used extensively as plasticizers in kinds of consumer products. They are harmful for human reproduction and fertility. Mono-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (MEHP) is the active metabolite of di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate(DEHP),which is most commonly used as a plasticizer and solvent in numerous consumer products. MEHP has been demonstrated to be a reproductive toxicant in rodents, but the evidences of using human cells are rare. In present study, we examined the effect of MEHP on viability and steroid production of human granulosa cells. Human granulosa cells obtained from nine patients undergoing in vitro fertilization were cultured in medium with various concentrations of MEHP (100,300,500 µmol L− 1). After culture for 48 hours, granulosa cells viability was determined. Estradiol, progesterone and testosterone were assayed in the spent culture medium. We found that the viability of granulosa cells was reduced obviously at 100, 300 and 500µmol L− 1 of MEHP. High concentration of MEHP(500uM) was harmfull to steriod hormone synthesis, such as estradiol and progestorone. These findings will provide favorable evidence for adverse effect of MEHP on women's reproductive system.

Phthalates are widely used in industry as solvents, additives and plasticizers. Some phthalates and their monoester metabolites are known to cause carcinogenic, toxic or endocrine-modulating effects. Chorion tissues as human early embryo are the base of organogenesis. Embryo (3-8 weeks) is sensitive period of teratogensis. With the development of industrialization, in addition to genetic factors, environmental factors become an important reason for human reproductive system defect, particularly under the interaction of the environmental factors and genetic factors. Recently we have studied human chorion tissues to see whether the phthalates especially their monoester metabolites are exist in. In the result five phthalates and monoester metabolites such as dibutyl phthalate (DBP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), monobutyl phthalate(MBP) and mono(2-ethyl-hexyl) phthalate(MEHP) are discovered, that means that phthalates and their monoesters both can pass through embryo and affect fetus before birth.
