Background: The high summer mortality in many fish farms, which had detrimental economic and social implications, was a serious challenge that the fish industry had to deal with. Aim: With an examination of the most effective antibiotic, the ongoing research was intended to shed light on the identification of the main bacterial pathogens associated with the summer mortality syndrome in the diseased farmed Nile tilapia. Methods: Six hundred dead Nile tilapia samples that had suffered from summer mortality were collected from several fish farms between May and October of 2022. The gathered fish displayed hemorrhagic areas on the skin, scale detachment, fin degeneration, erosions, skin ulcers, and corneal opacity with unilateral and/or bilateral exophthalmia. The most prominent internal appearance was swelling of the internal organs with sanguineous ascetic fluid. Results: There were 225 bacterial isolates found. Six species were identified through phenotypic and biochemical analysis; they were Aeromonas, Vibrio, Streptococcus, Pseudomonas, Enterococcus, and Edwardsiella spp., in descending percentage, respectively. Aeromonas spp., Vibrio spp., and Streptococcus spp. were the three most frequent isolated bacterial pathogens. The identification of Aeromonas hydrophila, Vibrio spp., and Streptococcus iniae, the three most common bacterial isolates, was confirmed by molecular analysis by PCR. Most of the tested strains were found to be responsive to Ciprofloxacin, Gentamicin, and Chloramphenicol but resistant to Amoxicillin, according to an antibiotic sensitivity test. Conclusion: The three most dangerous common bacterial infections discovered during mass-farmed tilapia summer mortality are A. hydrophila, Vibrio sp., and S. iniae. This makes it clear that high water temperatures may raise the possibility of bacterial infections, which could cause widespread tilapia mortality and substantial financial losses. Therefore, it is crucial to maintain a beneficial fish culture, environment, and husbandry practices to enhance the tilapia-rearing environment and lessen the virulence of the disease. Background: This study discussed the effect of probiotic supplementation on laying hens' diets and the enhancement of the egg quality during cold storage period. Aim: To study the efficacy of addition of probiotics to hen diets in terms of improving the egg's quality during cold storage period and protection against enteric pathogens. Methods: 100 table eggs were collected from farms of laying hens on battery system, 46 weeks old HylineW36 white in Sharkia Government. The collected eggs were separated to 2 groups (50 each); the control group from hens fed on diets without probiotics, and the probiotic group from hens fed on diets with (100 g/ton) of supplemented probiotics preparation. All groups were separated to 5 sub-groups for the examinations; at (fresh day, 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th days) on cold storage 4°C. Chemical, physical and microbiological examinations were done for internal egg contents and eggshell. Results: Our results showed that probiotics supplements have advantageous effects on the quality of egg during cold storage periods. Also, microbiological examination proved that eggshell from hens fed on diets with probiotics supplemented (100 g/ton) have decreased the level of bacterial contamination with Salmonella and E. coli than hens fed regular diet. Conclusion: It could be showed that the probiotics supplementation may decrease and reduce the effect of the storage period on the quality of shell, albumen and yolk. ABSTRACTSedimentation at intakes of drinking water treatment plants (DWTPs) clogs intake pipe inlets causing interruption of water supply and serious pump abrasion. It occurs due to river flow velocity (FV) decline which causes flow inability to carry sediment particles. On the other hand, high velocities increase water turbidity because they induce flow turbulence that diffuses bed sediment particles over the water depth. The diffusion causes turbid water withdrawal and consequent high treatment running cost. This paper aims to adjust FVs near DWTP intakes using river training works (TWs) to control sedimentation and turbidity. Road El-Farag DWTP intake was taken as a case study. Groin construction and riverbed dredging were proposed as effective TWs. A 2-D mathematical model (SMS) was used to simulate different scenarios of the TWs. The simulations aimed to increase the FVs near the intake area provided that they neither allow sedimentation nor bed scour. The study area with FVs ranging from 0.025 to 0.40 was simulated in a physical flume to investigate the corresponding water turbidity (WT) values. A Jar test was conducted to find a relationship between WT and alum doses at different FVs. This relationship determines the optimum alum dose that can minimize turbidity. SMS and flume simulations revealed that positioning of groins on the river bank opposite to the intake area combined with dredging near the intake managed to increase FVs that can prevent sedimentation and bed scour. Finally, a mathematical relationship between alum doses and FVs was established.

Background: Evidence on the effectiveness of vaccination-induced immunity compared to SARS-CoV-2 natural immunity is warranted to inform vaccination recommendations. Aim: In this study, we aimed to conduct a comparative assessment of antibody responses between vaccinated naïve (VN) and unvaccinated naturally infected individuals (NI) over 10 Months. Method: The study comprised fully-vaccinated naïve individuals (VN; n = 596) who had no history of SARS-CoV-2 infection, and received two doses of either BNT162b2 or mRNA-1273, and naturally infected individuals who had a documented history of SARS-CoV-2 infection and no vaccination record (NI cohort; n = 218). We measured the levels of neutralizing total antibodies (NtAbs), anti-S-RBD IgG, and anti-S1 IgA titers among VN and NI up to ∼10 months from administration of the first dose, and up to ∼7 months from SARS-CoV-2 infection, respectively. To explore the relationship between the antibody responses and time, Spearman's correlation coefficient was computed. Furthermore, correlations between the levels of NtAbs/anti-S-RBD IgG and NtAbs/anti-S1 IgA were examined through pairwise correlation analysis. Results: Up to six months, VN individuals had a significantly higher NtAb and anti-S-RBD IgG antibody responses compared to NI individuals. Abstract Background Caveolin-1 (Cav-1) is a pivotal protein in the plasma membrane. Studies on homozygous Cav-1 deficient mice revealed that Cav-1 is essential for endothelial function and angiogenesis in the retina. However, whether a reduction in Cav-1 content hampers the neurovascular unit (NVU) in the retina is unclear. Thus, this study examines the NVU in the retinas of heterozygous Cav-1 deficient (Cav-1+/−) mice and analyzes possible underlying mechanisms. Methods The vascular, glial and neuronal components in the retina were evaluated using retinal morphometry, whole mount retinal immunofluorescence staining, histological analysis and optical coherence tomography. In addition, immunoblotting and immunofluorescence staining, subcellular fractionation, biotin labeling of cell surface proteins, and proximity ligation assay were employed to detect expression and localization of proteins in the retina or endothelial cells (ECs) upon knockdown of Cav-1 with Cav-1 siRNA. Results Cav-1+/− retinas showed a significant reduction in pericyte coverage along with an increase in acellular capillaries compared to controls at 8 months of age, but not at 1 month. A significant loss and obvious morphological abnormalities of smooth muscle cells were observed in 8-month-old Cav-1+/− retinal arterioles. Macroglial and microglial cells were activated in the Cav-1+/− retinas. A transient significant delay in retinal angiogenesis was detected in Cav-1+/− retinas at p5, which was however no longer detectable at p10. The Cav-1+/− retinas displayed increased vascular permeability and a notable reduction in VEGFR2 content at 8 months. In vitro, siRNA-mediated knockdown experiments in ECs revealed that the loss of Cav-1 in ECs resulted in decreased levels of VEGFR2, VE-Cadherin and their interaction at the plasma membrane as well. Conclusion Our results indicate that a sufficient Cav-1 level over 50% of its normal abundance is vital for the proper localization of VEGFR2 and VE-cadherin, likely in a complex, at the plasma membrane, which is essential for the maintenance of normal NVU in the retina.

Innovative Work Behavior (IWB) is a concept in Industrial Revolution 4.0 to encourage business growth, competitiveness, and success. Organizations that prioritize innovation and encourage creativity are expected to thrive in the current dynamic and unpredictable business environment. This study aims to provide ideas, suggestions and contributions to researchers who examine IWB variables, making it easier for researchers to determine the antecedent and consequent variables as well as the sectors to be studied. This study uses a literature review method to investigate the antecedents, consequences, and sectors that are involved in IWB by reviewing 44 articles from the Scopus database that have been reviewed. In addition, this study uses a bibliometric technique in order to find IWB’s compatibility. Results indicate that IWB has 63 antecedents and can be classified into three factors: individual, organizational, and leadership. As for consequences, it shows 6 consequences which also consist of digital literacy and competitive advantages apart from performance. Sectors that engage in IWB are predominantly telecommunication and manufacturing. It is hoped that IWB could expand to all sectors especially public sectors such as public services.

Abstract Due to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in agricultural sector, controlling bacterial plant diseases using antibiotics has become challenging. Researchers have turned to alternative methods, such as using bacteriophages as a biocide for plants instead of antibiotics, to control pathogenic bacterial plant diseases. However, the application of bacteriophages as a biocide in agriculture faces several challenges that may impede its success. In this review article, we discuss the various issues that could lead to the failure of its application. We also propose solutions to address each problem to increase awareness and familiarity before implementing the method to better ensure its success.

Abstract Background A direct consequence of global warming, and strongly correlated with poor physical and mental health, food insecurity is a rising global concern associated with low dietary intake. The Coronavirus pandemic has further aggravated food insecurity among vulnerable communities, and thus has sparked the global conversation of equal food access, food distribution, and improvement of food support programs. This research was designed to identify the key features associated with food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic using Machine learning techniques. Seven machine learning algorithms were used in the model, which used a dataset of 32 features. The model was designed to predict food insecurity across ten Arab countries in the Gulf and Mediterranean regions. A total of 13,443 participants were extracted from the international Corona Cooking Survey conducted by 38 different countries during the COVID -19 pandemic. Results The findings indicate that Jordanian, Palestinian, Lebanese, and Saudi Arabian respondents reported the highest rates of food insecurity in the region (15.4%, 13.7%, 13.7% and 11.3% respectively). On the other hand, Oman and Bahrain reported the lowest rates (5.4% and 5.5% respectively). Our model obtained accuracy levels of 70%-82% in all algorithms. Gradient Boosting and Random Forest techniques had the highest performance levels in predicting food insecurity (82% and 80% respectively). Place of residence, age, financial instability, difficulties in accessing food, and depression were found to be the most relevant features associated with food insecurity. Conclusions The ML algorithms seem to be an effective method in early detection and prediction of food insecurity and can profoundly aid policymaking. The integration of ML approaches in public health strategies could potentially improve the development of targeted and effective interventions to combat food insecurity in these regions and globally.

This paper explains the effect of parents’ parenting style on natural science students’ motivation. The research was conducted in class IV at SD Negeri Medan Johor. The researchers used associative quantitative research methods. The population used was 36 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 060938 Medan Johor. Sampling used total sampling (saturated sampling). The research results indicate that the results obtained from the correlation test can be seen in the correlation coefficient of rcount 0.97 ≥ rtable 0.329, hence it can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, it means that there is an effect of parents’ parenting style on students’ learning motivation at SD Negeri 060938 Medan Johor. It can also be seen from the t-test results where tcount 25.73 ≥ ttable 2.030, hence the hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It shows that there is a positive significant effect between the effect of parents’ parenting style and natural science students' learning motivation in class IV at SD Negeri Medan Johor in the academic year 2022/2023.

The purpose of the study. aims to determine the contribution of leg explosive power and running speed to long jump ability. Materials and methods. a research sample of 30 male students. Measurement of leg explosive power is determined by the ability to jump long without starting (standing broad jump). Running speed measurements are determined by running a sample distance of 30 meters. Measurement of long jump ability is determined by a sample of jumping as far as possible in the jumping. Results. The results showed that leg explosive power, leg length and running speed contributed to long jump ability (r > 0.05). The results show that leg explosive power and long jump ability contribute (r = 0.58). There was a contribution in the correlation test between running speed and long jump ability (r = 0.51). The results of the multiple correlation test of leg explosive power and running speed with long jump ability showed that there was a contribution (r=0.70 and r2 = 0.49) Conclusions. There is a contribution between leg explosive power, leg length and running speed to long jump ability. The influence of physical activity and regular and structured training also greatly influences a person's long jump ability

IntroductionIn recent years, the world’s attention has been drawn to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) because to the frightening prospect of growing death rates. Nanomaterials are being investigated due to their potential in a wide range of technical and biological applications.MethodsThe purpose of this study was to biosynthesis zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) using Aspergillus sp. SA17 fungal extract, followed by characterization of the produced nanoparticles (NP) using electron microscopy (TEM and SEM), UV-analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR).Results and DiscussionThe HR-TEM revealed spherical nanoparticles with an average size of 7.2 nm, and XRD validated the crystalline nature and crystal structure features of the generated ZnONPs, while the zeta potential was 18.16 mV, indicating that the particles’ surfaces are positively charged. The FT-IR was also used to identify the biomolecules involved in the synthesis of ZnONPs. The antibacterial and anticancer properties of both the crude fungal extract and its nano-form against several microbial strains and cancer cell lines were also investigated. Inhibition zone diameters against pathogenic bacteria ranged from 3 to 13 mm, while IC50 values against cancer cell lines ranged from 17.65 to 84.55 M. Additionally, 33 compounds, including flavonoids, phenolic acids, coumarins, organic acids, anthraquinones, and lignans, were discovered through chemical profiling of the extract using UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS. Some molecules, such pomiferin and glabrol, may be useful for antibacterial purposes, according to in silico study, while daidzein 4’-sulfate showed promise as an anti-cancer metabolite.

Technology has an important role to play in advancing sustainable tourism destinations. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of technology on tourism marketing during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia which can be used as material for decisions by tourism practitioners and is useful for researchers in the tourism sector. This research was conducted using a systematic literature review (SLR) of 2 reference articles from Scopus. The results show that there is no antecedents from tourism marketing that were studied during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, there is a positive influence of technology on tourism marketing during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are several consequences of technology adoption in tourism marketing, namely image, trust, visitors' interest and tourist behavior. However, this research still has limitations on the reference sources used (only Scopus), it is recommended to add a database for future researchers and add other research problem formulations. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the financial performance of the Village Fund Allocation (ADD) management of Binaka Village Government, Gunungsitoli Idanoi District, Gunungsitoli City based on the ratio of effectiveness and growth ratio. The type of research used in this research is descriptive quantitative research. In this study, secondary data was obtained from the financial reports of Village Fund Allocations in the 2019-2021 APBDes Government of the Binaka Village. Data collection techniques used in this research are documentation and interviews. The results of the study show that the financial performance of the Allocation of Village Funds for the Government of Binaka Village from 2019-2021 based on the calculation of the effectiveness ratio with an average yield of 100% is categorized as effective. Then based on the growth ratio, it experienced negative growth with an average percentage of -5.4%. Keywords: Financial Performance; Effectiveness Ratio; Growth Ratio

Data authentication is a critical issue in communication systems. Based on data authentication techniques, the receiver can affirm that the data is really sent from an authentic sender and it is not a fabricated message from an opponent. One of the important techniques of data authentication is authentication codes. Authentication codes are utilized in communication channels in which there may be an opponent besides the sender and the receiver. This opponent may play both substitution attack or impersonation attack. Via an impersonation attack the opponent can transmit a message on the channel to the receiver and hopes that the receiver will take delivery of it as an authentic. Through the substitution attack we imply that once the opponent observes a message is sent by the sender, he substitutes that message with another one and expect that the receiver will accepted it as authentic. For each of those styles of attacks, there is an associated probability that the opponent will success to cheat the receiver. That are the probability of a successful impersonation attack P1 and the probability of a successful substitution attack P2. For more security of the communication system, it is far proposed to construct an authentication code with small values of P1 and P2. In this paper, we present an approach for design a graph message authentication code. This approach constructs a set of mutually orthogonal graph designs on a regular graph H by a graph G. Imposing certain conditions on H and G, we build a combinatorial design on H that yields to an authentication code with low probability of impersonation attack and of substitution attack. Moreover, we prove that such probabilities are related to the order of the graph H.

Writing a well-structured scientific documents, such as articles and theses, is vital for comprehending the document's argumentation and understanding its messages. Furthermore, it has an impact on the efficiency and time required for studying the document. Proper document segmentation also yields better results when employing automated Natural Language Processing (NLP) manipulation algorithms, including summarization and other information retrieval and analysis functions. Unfortunately, inexperienced writers, such as young researchers and graduate students, often struggle to produce well-structured professional documents. Their writing frequently exhibits improper segmentations or lacks semantically coherent segments, a phenomenon referred to as "mal-segmentation." Examples of mal-segmentation include improper paragraph or section divisions and unsmooth transitions between sentences and paragraphs. This research addresses the issue of mal-segmentation in scientific writing by introducing an automated method for detecting mal-segmentations, and utilizing Sentence Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (sBERT) as an encoding mechanism. The experimental results section shows a promising results for the detection of mal-segmentation using the sBERT technique.

Background: Food insecurity significantly impacts children’s health, affecting their development across cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional dimensions. This study explores the impact of food insecurity among children aged 6 months to 5 years, focusing on nutrient intake and its relationship with various forms of malnutrition. Methods: Utilizing machine learning algorithms, this study analyzed data from 819 children in the West Bank to investigate sociodemographic and health factors associated with food insecurity and its effects on nutritional status. The average age of the children was 33 months, with 52% boys and 48% girls. Results: The analysis revealed that 18.1% of children faced food insecurity, with household education, family income, locality, district, and age emerging as significant determinants. Children from food-insecure environments exhibited lower average weight, height, and mid-upper arm circumference compared to their food-secure counterparts, indicating a direct correlation between food insecurity and reduced nutritional and growth metrics. Moreover, the machine learning models observed vitamin B1 as a key indicator of all forms of malnutrition, alongside vitamin K1, vitamin A, and zinc. Specific nutrients like choline in the “underweight” category and carbohydrates in the “wasting” category were identified as unique nutritional priorities. Conclusion: This study provides insights into the differential risks for growth issues among children, offering valuable information for targeted interventions and policymaking.

Ischemic brain strokes are severe medical conditions that occur due to blockages in the brain’s blood flow, often caused by blood clots or artery blockages. Early detection is crucial for effective treatment. This study aims to improve the detection and classification of ischemic brain strokes in clinical settings by introducing a new approach that integrates the stroke precision enhancement, ensemble deep learning, and intelligent lesion detection and segmentation models. The proposed hybrid model was trained and tested using a dataset of 10,000 computed tomography scans. A 25-fold cross-validation technique was employed, while the model’s performance was evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. The findings indicate significant improvements in accuracy for different stages of stroke images when enhanced using the SPEM model with contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization set to 4. Specifically, accuracy showed significant improvement (from 0.876 to 0.933) for hyper-acute stroke images; from 0.881 to 0.948 for acute stroke images, from 0.927 to 0.974 for sub-acute stroke images, and from 0.928 to 0.982 for chronic stroke images. Thus, the study shows significant promise for the detection and classification of ischemic brain strokes. Further research is needed to validate its performance on larger datasets and enhance its integration into clinical settings.

Antibiotics represent a frequently employed therapeutic modality for the management of bacterial infections across diverse domains, including human health, agriculture, livestock breeding, and fish farming. The efficacy of antibiotics relies on four distinct mechanisms of action, which are discussed in detail in this review, along with accompanying diagrammatic illustrations. Despite their effectiveness, antibiotic resistance has emerged as a significant challenge to treating bacterial infections. Bacteria have developed defense mechanisms against antibiotics, rendering them ineffective. This review delves into the specific mechanisms that bacteria have developed to resist antibiotics, with the help of diagrammatic illustrations. Antibiotic resistance can spread among bacteria through various routes, resulting in previously susceptible bacteria becoming antibiotic-resistant. Multiple factors contribute to the worsening crisis of antibiotic resistance, including human misuse of antibiotics. This review also emphasizes alternative solutions proposed to mitigate the exacerbation of antibiotic resistance.

Background: Magnesium (Mg) deficiency is closely linked with proteinuria. Objectives: To assess the impact of oral Mg citrate supplementation on the clinical outcome of diabetic nephropathy (DN) patients. Design: This was a prospective, randomized, controlled, open-label study. Methods: Sixty DN patients were recruited from Nephrology and Endocrinology departments, Ain Shams University Hospitals, Cairo, Egypt. Patients were assigned by stratified randomization based on their Mg status, to either Mg citrate group, ( n = 30), who received the standard regimen + oral Mg citrate 2.25 g/day or Control group, ( n = 30), who received the standard regimen only. The primary endpoint was a change in urinary albumin to creatinine ratio (UACR) after 12 weeks. Secondary outcomes were insulin resistance, glycemic control, lipid profile, serum osteocalcin, quality of life (QoL) and Mg tolerability. Results: Out of a total of 60 patients enrolled, only 54 patients (26 in Mg citrate group and 28 in the control group) completed the study. Groups were comparable at baseline. The UACR median percent reduction was significantly higher in the Mg citrate group (−6.87%) versus (−0.9%) in the Control group, p = 0.001. After 12 weeks, the estimated glomerular filtration rate significantly improved in the Mg citrate group versus Control group ( p = 0.001). Comparable change was observed in glycemic indices. Lipid profile significantly improved in the Mg citrate group versus Control group ( p = 0.001). Serum osteocalcin levels significantly declined in the Mg citrate group ( p = 0.001) versus control group. Regarding QoL, the total score and all domains significantly improved in the Mg citrate group compared to control. The Mg supplement was tolerable with only mild reported side effects that required no intervention. Conclusion: Oral Mg citrate supplementation improved microalbuminuria in DN patients. It also had favorable effects on serum osteocalcin, lipid profile and QoL with no reported major side effects. Trial registration: ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT03824379.

Art galleries are a place for art lovers who are used as a medium of interaction between artists and art connoisseurs. In the city of Medan there are communities of art lovers that are possible to develop. However, these communities cannot develop because of the activities carried out separately. The Medan art gallery will be a solution to the problem of the limitations of art lovers in the city of Medan. The purpose of this study is to examine the Medan Fine Art Gallery with an approach to the elements of Neo-Vernacular Architecture and develop it in a more modern form. In the design of the Medan Fine Arts Gallery, there are three main functions, namely without the visual arts communities in the city of Medan, Wadah trades the works of Medan children, and develops a creative economy which includes applying elements of the Neo-vernacular Architecture theme. This theme can be a basic reference in design as well as a unique value that displays the overall design result. The theme approach will produce a modern form but still have local cultural values. The concept is "Batak Traditional House and Ulos Fabric motif" which is one of Medan's cultural icons. Overall the building characterizes predetermined themes and concepts. A combination of themes and concepts that will produce a modern form but still apply local cultural values.

Background: Secondary hyperparathyroidism is a common consequence of end-stage renal disease. Despite the efficacy of kidney transplantation in treating renal failure, many transplant recipients still suffer from persistent or tertiary hyperparathyroidism. Furthermore, the impact of secondary hyperparathyroidism therapy choices on other renal transplant outcomes is poorly understood. Methods: We retrieved the clinical data of 334 patients who received a kidney allograft between January 2007 and December 2014 at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust, United Kingdom. We identified three groups: parathyroidectomy group (34 patients), including patients who had parathyroidectomy before transplantation; cinacalcet group (31 patients), including patients who received cinacalcet before transplantation; and control group (269 patients), including patients who receive a transplant in the same period but did not have any evidence of hyperparathyroidism. We reviewed the demographic data, biochemical parameters and graft survival of all groups. Results: Patients who underwent parathyroidectomy before transplantation had significantly better posttransplant calcium and parathyroid hormone levels than patients in the cinacalcet group (p=0.003). In addition, a significantly lower number of patients had tertiary hyperparathyroidism in the parathyroidectomy group than in the cinacalcet group at 1 year of follow-up (p=0.001). However, short-term and long-term graft survival was comparable in all groups. Conclusions: Renal allograft survival was comparable in all groups. Background: The prevalence of dysglycemia among adolescents and younger children has been rising, yet health professionals are still unaware of the significance of this problem. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MOH) records, most diabetic children under the age of 20 in Palestine are classified as type 1; nonetheless, very limited data are available for policymakers to frame cost-effective screening programs. This study aims to determine the prevalence of dysglycemia in a sample of obese and overweight Palestinian adolescents, identify risk factors associated with dysglycemia, and examine risk factors variance by gender. Methods: A cross-sectional sample of observed obese and overweight adolescents was selected from public schools in the Hebron governorate. Informed consent, physical examination, anthropometric, and laboratory tests (Random Blood Glucose Level (BGL) and fasting BGL ) were performed on a sample of 511 students (44.6% boys and 55.4% girls) aged 13–18-years (13-15 years =46.2% and 16-18 years =53.8%). Results: The prevalence of confirmed overweight and obese cases was 73.2%, and dysglycemia prevalence among the confirmed cases was 3.7% (5.3% boys and 2.5% girls). The BMI classifications of the dysglycemic children indicated that 42.1% were overweight and 31.1% were obese. Furthermore, 64.6% reported high systolic and/or diastolic blood pressure readings. Conclusions: The results of this study provide valuable information about the rising problem of dysglycemia among Palestinian adolescents and underlines the need for rapid screening programs and protocols for early detection and classification of the disease, leading to initiation of early prevention and treatment plans.
