Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) are released from multiple anthropogenic sources and thus have a ubiquitous presence in the environment. The environmental exposure and potential effects of PPCPs on biota and humans has aroused concern within the scientific community and the public. Risk assessments are commonly conducted to evaluate the likelihood of chemicals including PPCPs that pose health threats to organisms inhabiting various environmental compartments and humans. Because thousands of PPCPs are currently used, it is impractical to assess the environmental risk of all of them due to data limitations; in addition, new PPCPs are continually being produced. Prioritization approaches, based either on exposure, hazard, or risk, provide a possible means by which those PPCPs that are likely to pose the greatest risk to the environment are identified, thereby enabling more effective allocation of resources in environmental monitoring programs in specific geographical locations and ecotoxicological investigations. In the present review, the importance and current knowledge concerning PPCP occurrence and risk are discussed and priorities for future research are proposed, in terms of PPCP exposure (e.g., optimization of exposure modeling in freshwater ecosystems and more monitoring of PPCPs in the marine environment) or hazard (e.g., differential risk of PPCPs to lower vs. higher trophic level species and risks to human health). Recommended research questions for the next 10 years are also provided, which can be answered by future studies on prioritization of PPCPs. The Loess Plateau has been a focus of public discussion and environmental concerns over the past three decades. In this study, in order to investigate the effect of OCP pollution in water of the Beiluo River, concentrations of 25 OCPs at 17 locations in the water were examined. The results showed that the concentration of ∑OCPs in the water ranged from 1.76 to 32.57 ng L−1, with an average concentration of 7.23 ng L−1. Compared with other basins in China and abroad, the OCP content in the Beiluo River was at a medium level. Hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) pollution in the Beiluo River was mainly from the mixed input of lindane and technical HCHs. Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) pollution was mainly from the mixed input of technical DDTs and dicofol. Most of the OCP pollution came from historical residues. The risk assessment results showed that hexachlorobenzene (HCB) and endosulfan had high ecological risks in the middle and lower reaches of the Beiluo River. Most residual OCPs were not sufficient to pose carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic health risks to humans. Boron (B) deficiency is detrimental to Glycine max (L.) Merr., which is one of the leading oil crops. In this study, physiological analysis of soybean seedlings under B deficiency and control after 12 h, 24 h, 72 h and 8 days was carried out, and the roots were subjected to transcriptome sequencing analysis. The results showed that under B deficiency, the plant height, SPAD and chlorophyll fluorescence value of soybean seedlings decreased significantly, indicating that B stress significantly inhibited plant growth and photosynthesis. RNA-seq revealed a total of 5126 DEGs (Differentially Expressed Genes), and nine DEGs co-existed at the four-time points, among which GLYMA_03G130600 regulates transcription factor ORG3, which is related to plant growth. GO analysis revealed a total of annotated 4018 DEGs, among which the terms plasma membrane, extracellular, enzyme activity, ion transport metabolic process and oxidoreductase activity were significantly enriched at the four time points, which might hinder the growth of soybean and accelerate senescence. KEGG analysis showed that at level 1, the DEGs were mainly enriched in photosynthesis-related, phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, nitrogen metabolism and plant hormone signal transduction. At level 2 of secondary metabolism, the DEGs were mainly enriched in energy metabolism and amino acid metabolism pathways, which indicates that B stresses mainly affect photosynthesis, hormone regulation and amino acid metabolism of soybean, thus affecting plant growth. The above results give deeper insight into the soybean response to B deficiency and lay the foundation for further studies of the molecular mechanism of soybean response to boron deficiency. HnRNPK is a heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) that has been firmly implicated in transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation. However, the molecular mechanisms by which hnRNPK orchestrates transcriptional or post-transcriptional regulation are not well understood due to early embryonic lethality in homozygous knockout mice, especially in a tissue-specific context. Strikingly, in this study, we demonstrated that hnRNPK is strongly expressed in the mouse testis and mainly localizes to the nucleus in spermatogonia, spermatocytes, and round spermatids, suggesting an important role for hnRNPK in spermatogenesis. Using a male germ cell-specific hnRNPK-depleted mouse model, we found that it is critical for testicular development and male fertility. The initiation of meiosis of following spermatogenesis was not affected in Hnrnpk cKO mice, while most germ cells were arrested at the pachytene stage of the meiosis and no mature sperm were detected in epididymides. The further RNA-seq analysis of Hnrnpk cKO mice testis revealed that the deletion of hnRNPK disturbed the expression of genes involved in male reproductive development, among which the meiosis genes were significantly affected, and Hnrnpk cKO spermatocytes failed to complete the meiotic prophase. Eight organic-inorganic hybrid salts [(HL1)(SbCl4)] (1) (L1 = N,N-dimethylbenzylamine), [(HL2)2(ZnCl4)] (2) (L2 = 4-chlorobenzylamine), [(HL2)(L2)(CuCl3)(H2O)2] (3), [(HL3)2(Sb2OCl6)] (4) (L3 = quinoline), [(HL4)4(Bi2Cl10)] (5) (L4 = 2-methylquinoline), [(HL5)(SbCl4)] (6) (L5 = 5,7-dimethyl-1,8-naphthyridine-2-amine), [(H2L6)(SbCl5)] (7) (L6 = 3,6-bis(imidazol-1-yl)pyridazine) and [(H2L7)2(CuBr4)2] · 7H2O (8) (L7 = di(2-benzimidazol-1-ylethyl)ether) were prepared and characterized by IR, XRD, EA and TG analysis. XRD analysis told that all of the complexes were 3 D net built from non-covalent bonds from the cations and the halometallates. The aryl rings of the cations in all of the compounds are essentially planar. The H2O also had crucial role in structure extension in 3 and 8. Extensive intermolecular interactions have been used in the self-assembly of diverse motifs, ranging from strong N-H···X (X = Br, Cl), N-H···O, N-H···N, O-H···O, O-H···Br H-bonds to weak CH2···O, CH3-Cl/CH2-Cl/CH-Cl, Cl-Cl, O-Br, CH3-π, CH2-π, Cl-π and π-π associations.
