This paper investigates the association between the facets organizational justice theory and employees' job satisfaction at the workplace doing job in NGOs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The authors applied regression technique using the SPSS statistical software. Findings of the study revealed that among four facets of organizational justice theory, only three facets (distributive justice, interactive justice, and informational justice) have a positive statistically significant impact on employee's job satisfaction among the workers of NGOs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Information justice showed a greater impact as compared to distributive and interactive justice on employees' job satisfaction. Overall, the results of this study show a clear rule of thumb for the administrations to look after the facets of the organization justice theory to promote more employees' job satisfaction at the workplace. The aim of this study was to find the effect of ethical leadership on organizational justice. This study also finds the moderating role of Conscientiousness on the relationship between ethical leadership and organizational justice. This study was conducted in higher education sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Cross-sectional research design was used in this studyand n= 300 sample size was selected for this study. The results of the revealed that ethical leadership has positive and significant effect on all types of organizational justice. Moreover, the results also revealed that Conscientiousness has significant and positive moderating effect on the relationship between ethical leadership and organizational justice. Ethical leadership is one of the most recent and unexplored area in the education sector of Pakistan. Every organization has their ethical code of conduct which must be followed. The aim of this study is to find the impact of ethical leadership on employee’s job behavior. This study also finds the moderating role of Conscientiousness on the relationship between ethical leadership and employee’s job behavior. Convenient sampling technique with (n=511) was used. A time lag research design was used in this study. The results of the study revealed that ethical leadership has positive and significant effect on employee’s work behavior (organizational citizenship behavior at organizational level, organizational citizenship behavior at individual level and in-role performance). Moreover, results also shows that conscientiousness has significant mediating role between ethical leadership and employee’s work behavior. In this paper, we have reported plant mediated green synthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) which were further fabricated into mixed matrices of polyether sulfone (PES) and cellulose acetate (CA) by using solution casting technique. Assessment of selected parameters of the synthesized membranes included contact angle, salt rejection, flux behavior and tensile strength measurements. Bovine serum albumin (BSA) rejection measurement of PES-CA-CuO (I), Cu@PES-CA (II), Cu@PES-CA-CuO-1 (III) and Cu@PES-CA-CuO-2 (IV) were absolutely examined. Permeability of I was 65 L h−1 m−2 bar−1 while after growing Cu nanoparticles on the surface of PES-CA-CuO, permeability of III and IV observed was 110 and 85 L h−1 m−2 bar−1 respectively while porosity also exhibited a similar trend. BSA rejection also increased for III and IV respectively in comparison of I. The synthesized materials I–IV were screened out for the catalytic reduction of nitrophenols and IV showed a superior performance. E. coli, a model gram-negative bacterium was used in this study for investigating the antimicrobial activity of the afore-mentioned membranes with III and IV exhibited more than 75% inhibition. Every conflict has its own peculiar and distinct characteristics that demands a defining response in the form of counterinsurgency. Before embarking on any such counterinsurgency campaign, it is of utmost significance to frame the parameters of the appropriate response. That arises the question as how much research has been carried out on the nature of insurgency and more importantly on the counterinsurgency. Such critical inquiries can lead the academicians and practitioners to explore as what was the pattern and nature of insurgency, i.e. secessionist, traditional or spiritual etc. More importantly, the relevant literature review must explain the contours of counterinsurgency operations. Besides, such research should bring forth the critical constraint and shortfalls of the counterinsurgency campaign vis-à-vis the civilian and military's approach of handling the insurgency. In Pakistan's Swat region, the insurgency posed an existential threat to the security of Pakistan. The post 9/11 era proliferated the wave of insurgencies in the region and Swat was not immune to the shock effects of the violent social change. Swat 's insurgency got its momentum in 2006 and unleased a spate of terrorism and guerilla fighting that shook the entire country. In 2009, a grand scale counterinsurgency operation was launched incorporating all components of state. The softer prong of the operations is continuing till to date in the form of de-radicalization and counter extremism. In this article, I will endeavor to determine the research being carried out on the counterinsurgency in Swat and more importantly, the research gaps will be identified which needs to he filled by the future researchers and studies. Background: During recent years, many cases of dengue virus transmission, through blood transfusion have been reported, including two cases from Karachi, Pakistan. NS1 antigen detection in blood donors can serve as a rapid mean for detection of acute dengue infection thus could prevent transmission through blood donation by affected individuals. Objectives: The aim of this study was to screen high risk blood donors for active dengue infection during an outbreak in the city of Rawalpindi and rejection of NS1-positive donors to save patients from dengue infected transfusions. Subjects and Methods: After approval from the IRB Shaikh Zayed Hospital, high risk blood donors during the outbreak were identified in blood banks of selected government hospitals. The objective of the study was explained and an informed consent was obtained from each participant. Blood sample of 3cc was drawn at the time of cross-match. Serum was separated and analyzed for dengue NS1 Ag. Data was entered and analyzed using SPSS version 20.0. Results: Overall 600 blood donors were included in the survey with the majority of male participants (n=583) than female participants (n=17). Most of the blood donors (57.8%) were falling in the age group of less than 30 years and highest donations were from "B" positive blood group followed by "O" positive and "AB" negative with least donations. None of the sample screened positive for NS1 antigen. Conclusion: Blood of high risk asymptomatic donors taken were having no dengue NS1 Ag positivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Pakistan as a developing country is facing critical issues where skilled labour, brain-drain of qualified professionals, lack of technical education and awareness are considered underlying factors for unemployment and underemployment. In the controversial debate about CPEC, the misperception is that it is related to road connectivity and energy projects only. CPEC, beyond this narrow connotation, is about preparing the country to receive not only massive amounts of Chinese investment, but also cross cutting integration of trained personnel and culture. The current picture for trained personnel in the context of CPEC places a huge challenge for Pakistan unless we have a qualified and broad-based human resource in different sectors. This challenge is further aggravated by the lack of qualified and trained women workforce. With economic globalisation, evident through CPEC, there is a call for a comprehensive human resource development policy for women at national level. The paper identifies gaps with regards to training for women in Higher Education sector, awareness of opportunities for women and their participation in small and medium enterprises that come along CPEC inherently such as logistics, services, food processing, and cultural and media related collaborations. This qualitative research is based on data and interviews from women in academia, business and media as primary sources. The findings reveal that educated women need to be given trainings and awareness on CPEC from entrepreneurial, cultural and economic perspectives so that sustainable and positive impact of CPEC is widely reflected in society through women participation. The present research was conducted to identify the relationship between body dimorphic disorder features and rejection sensitivity: Attitude of university students towards cosmetic surgery acceptance. The study also found the relationship between body dysmorphic disorders features and rejection sensitivity. Sample comprised of 300 students from government and private universities of two cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi. For the present research Yale Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale modified for BDD, Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire and Acceptance of Cosmetic Surgery Scale were used for data collection. The findings indicated that features of BDD and Rejection sensitivity are correlated with acceptance of cosmetic surgery among university students. Findings showed that females were higher on personal rejection sensitivity, body dysmorphic disorder features and cosmetic surgery acceptance as compared to the male students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study describes the extraction and identification of essential oil constituents from Rosa damascena wild rose as well as effect of season and climatic conditions of selected regions (KPK, Pakistan). Essential oil constituents were extracted using Steam distillation (SD) method, whereas the analysis of the extracted components were carried out using GC coupled with MS. A total of seven oil components namely; o-cymene, d-limonene, (R)-(+)-citronellal, n-heneicosane, eugenol methyl ether, p-menth-1-en-8-ol and eucalyptol were extracted and quantified. GC-MS analysis indicated that the Rosa Damascena Mill contains several important volatile constituents i.e. (R)- (+)-citronellal, o-cymene, d-limonene, eucalyptol, p-menth-1-en-8-ol, eugenol methyl ether and nheneicosane with extraction yield 3.8% to 91.9%. Seasonal effect investigation indicated that spring season showed high essential oil yield as compare to summer and winter. The chemical composition of volatile components analyzed in the essential oil, extracted from rose petals collected from Bannu and Peshawar in spring indicates high concentration of all components in Bannu petals as compared to Peshawar. Present research indicated that the geographical distribution and seasonal variation highly affect the essential oil constituents in Rosa damascena wild rose. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
