This book from the LNNS Series is composed of the best selected papers accepted for presentation and discussion at the 2024 International Conference in Information Technology & Education (ICITED'24). The ICITED is a multidisciplinary conference with a special focus on new Technologies and Systems in the Education sector and was held between July 11 and 13, 2024. The ICITED'24 was supported by the Pernambuco University, Recife, Brazil, and by IADITI—International Association for Digital Transformation and Technological Innovation. The International Conference in Information Technology & Education is an international forum for researchers and professionals in the education sector, which enables the discussion of the latest innovations, trends, and concerns in several areas, in the education sector, associated with information technologies and systems. It is an event for professionals in the sector, in search of technology solutions, where academics, IT experts, and business managers meet to discuss new ideas that help them maximize the potential of learning processes through technology. The ICITED'24 Scientific Committee is composed of a multidisciplinary group of 143 experts who assessed some 262 papers from 26 countries, received for each of the main topics proposed for the conference. The papers accepted for presentation and discussion at the conference are published by Springer and will be submitted for indexing by ISI, SCOPUS, EI-Compendex, Google Scholar, and SpringerLink.

This three-volume set LNCS 14696-14698 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction, UAHCI 2024, held as part of the 26th International Conference, HCI International 2024, in Washington, DC, USA, during June 29 – July 4, 2024. The total of 1271 papers and 309 posters included in the HCII 2024 proceedings was carefully reviewed and selected from 5108 submissions. This two-volume set constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction, UAHCI 2023, held as part of the 25th International Conference, HCI International 2023, in Copenhagen, Denmark, during July 23-28, 2023. The total of 1578 papers and 396 posters included in the HCII 2022 proceedings was carefully reviewed and selected from 7472 submissions. The UAHCI 2023 proceedings were organized in the following topical sections: Part I: Design for All Methods, Tools and Practice; Interaction Techniques, Platforms and Metaphors for Universal Access; Understanding the Universal Access User Experience; and Designing for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Volume CCIS 1654 is part of the refereed proceedings of the 24th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, HCII 2022, which was held virtually during June 26 to July 1, 2022. A total of 5583 individuals from academia, research institutes, industry, and governmental agencies from 88 countries submitted contributions, and 1276 papers and 275 posters were included in the proceedings that were published just before the start of the conference. Additionally, 296 papers and 181 posters are included in the volumes of the proceedings published after the conference, as “Late Breaking Work” (papers and posters). While many fields such as e-learning, business, and marketing have taken advantage of the potential of gamification, the healthcare domain has just started to exploit this emerging trend, still in an ad-hoc fashion.
