Abstract

Nerve transfer for motor nerve paralysis is an established technique for treating complex nerve injuries. However, nerve transfer for sensory reconstruction has not been widely used, and published research on this topic is limited compared to motor nerve transfer. The indications and outcomes of nerve transfer for the restoration of sensory function remain unproven. This scoping review examines the indications, outcomes and complications of sensory nerve transfer. In total, 22 studies were included; the major finding is that distal sensory nerve transfers are more successful than proximal ones in succeeding protective sensation. Although the risk of extension of the sensory deficit with donor site loss and morbidity from neuromas remain a barrier to wider adoption, these complications were not reported in the review. Further, the scarcity of studies and small patient series limit the ability to determine sensory nerve transfer success. However, sensory restoration remains an opportunity for surgeons to pursue.

62. The Impact of Perceived Social Support on Mental Health Stigma and Professional Help-Seeking Behavior among College Teachers in Kerala,India

Abstract

Teaching is a profession, and teachers play numerous responsibilities in shaping generations. The traditional teaching environment was altered during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the new learning and evaluation methods and the new way of interacting with others led to a slew of mental health issues. The present study investigates the impact of perceived social support and mental health stigma on the professional help-seeking behavior of college-level teachers in Kerala, India. Participants (N = 130) were chosen through purposive sampling from various colleges throughout Kerala. The Attitude towards Seeking Professional Psychological Help Scale, Stigmatizing Attitude Believability Scale, and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support were administered to participants to assess professional help-seeking behavior, mental health stigma, and perceived social support. Spearman rank correlation coefficient, linear regression, and moderation analysis were used to analyze the relationship between variables. The findings obtained in the present study depicted a strong positive relationship between perceived social support and professional help-seeking behavior. Furthermore, perceived social support is a positive predictor of professional help-seeking behavior, while mental health stigma is found to be a negative predictor of professional help-seeking activity. The association between mental health stigma and professional help-seeking behavior is also moderated by perceived social support. The present study's findings contribute to understanding the significance of teachers' emotional and mental health well-being in the covid era. The findings shed light on the role of perceived social support as a facilitator that improves teachers' mental health.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of reliable public health data has been highlighted, as well as the multiple challenges in collecting it, especially in low income and conflict-affected countries. Somalia reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19 on 16 March 2020 and has experienced fluctuating infection levels since then. OBJECTIVES: To monitor the impact of COVID-19 on beneficiaries of a long-term cash transfer programme in Somalia and assess the utility of a syndromic score case definition and rapid mortality surveillance tool. METHODS: Five rounds of telephone interviews were conducted from June 2020 - April 2021 with 1,046-1,565 households participating in a cash transfer programme. The incidence of COVID-19 symptoms and all-cause mortality were recorded. Carers of the deceased were interviewed a second time using a rapid verbal autopsy questionnaire to determine symptoms preceding death. Data were recorded on mobile devices and analysed using COVID Rapid Mortality Surveillance (CRMS) software and R. RESULTS: The syndromic score case definition identified suspected symptomatic cases that were initially confined to urban areas but then spread widely throughout Somalia. During the first wave, the peak syndromic case rate (311 cases/million people/day) was 159 times higher than the average laboratory confirmed case rate reported by WHO for the same period. Suspected COVID-19 deaths peaked at 14.3 deaths/million people/day, several weeks after the syndromic case rate. Crude and under-five death rates did not cross the respective emergency humanitarian thresholds (1 and 2 deaths/10,000 people/day). CONCLUSION: Use of telephone interviews to collect data on the evolution of COVID-19 outbreaks is a useful additional approach that can complement laboratory testing and mortality data from the health system. Further work to validate the syndromic score case definition and CRMS is justified.

Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan perencanaan perawatan mesin penggilingan plastik, Sehingga Membandingkan Data Sebelum Dilakukan Perawatan & Data Sesudah Dilakukan Perawatan Untuk Mengetahui Hasil Proses Produksi Sampah Yang dihasilkan di Bank Sampah Hasil kesimpulan yang ada terlihat bahwa sebelum melakukan perawatan/pemeliharaan mesin bisa berdampak bagi hasil produksi yang ada dan hasil yang didapatkan adalah 1, 322 Ton dengan Total waktu keseluruhan yaitu 2,220 menit. Serta kesimpulan terlihat bahwa sesudah melakukan perawatan/pemeliharaan mesin bisa berdampak bagi hasil produksi yang ada dan hasil yang didapatkan adalah 1, 582 Ton dengan Total waktu keseluruhan yaitu 1,740 menit.

Abstract

Power generation enhancement of hybrid thermoelectric generator (TEG) using the synthetic oil (Therminol 55) and a small volume concentration of Al2O3 nanoparticles (0.05 and 0.1%) is experimentally studied. The hot side of the hybrid TEG is varied from 150 to 380 °C and load resistance up to 2 ohms, respectively, while the cold side temperature is kept constant at 30 °C. The effect of hot side temperature and load resistance on the power generation is experimentally analyzed. The experimental results showed that the use of single hybrid TEG gave a power output of about 9.262 W with a temperature difference of 350 °C between hot and cold sides when using Therminol 55. By adding a small amount of Al2O3 nanoparticles to Therminol 55, the heat transfer capacity has increased and resulted in the enhancement of power output to 13.2 W for 0.05% concentration and 19.22 W for 0.1% concentration for the same temperature difference. Also, the use of nanoparticles resulted in increasing the efficiency of the hybrid TEG system. An enhancement of 2.65% is observed in the power output when nanoparticles suspended synthetic oil and used as the hot side fluid.

Abstract

Peer to peer is an overlay network of interconnected nodes with high scalability, reliability, efficiency, and low setup cost. A fundamental problem in p2p networks is resource discovery. Several graph-based resource discovery algorithms in unstructured p2p networks are existent. The performance analysis of these algorithms were conducted under constrained settings like fixed hop count, fixed maximum number of neighbours, etc. In this work, we revisit these algorithms on random networks. Such analysis can give better insights and hence more realistic results, because real-world networks are often random.
