This research uses an experimental approach to investigate the relationship between market orientation of a company and its level of success in international business. The aim of the study was to develop and use a market orientation scale that is appropriate to the sector. It was discovered that there are four hidden traits that drive market orientation. These include customers, rivals, departmental response, and overall customer satisfaction. According to the results, orientation toward one's customers is more essential than any of the other traits, while orientation toward one's competitors has an inverted U-shaped connection with performance. The performance of the firm was not found to correlate in any way with the responsiveness of its departments. With the help of the comprehensive conceptualization, managers are able to develop specific kinds of orientations that are essential for higher levels of performance.

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is the second most widely cultivated leguminous plant in the world. In this study, the chickpea sprout protein (CSP) was hydrolyzed by various enzymes (trypsin, neutrase, alcalase and papain). The neutrase fraction (NF) which exhibits the best antioxidant activity with a high degree of hydrolysis (DH) was purified by ion-exchange chromatography (IEC), gel filtration chromatography (GFC), and reverse phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). A novel antioxidant peptide (NF2-4-1) was identified to be Leu-Thr-Glu-IIe-IIe-Pro with 685.41 Da molecular weight utilized matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry. The IC50 values of NF2-4-1 was 0.24 ± 0.06 mg/mL on 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH˙) and 0.57 ± 0.04 mg/mL on hydroxyl radicals (·OH) scavenging activity, respectively. Therefore, the results of this study demonstrate that chickpea sprouts can be used as a source of natural antioxidant peptides for food and nutraceutical applications.

The purpose of this study was to separate and purify antioxidant peptides from the scorpion (Buthus martensii Karsch) protein hydrolysates (SPHs). Scorpion protein (SP) was first hydrolyzed by trypsin, papain, and alcalase, respectively. Results from hydrolysis tests revealed that peptides hydrolyzed with papain showed the highest degree of hydrolysis (DH), yield and antioxidant activity. The effect of papain hydrolysis on scorpion protein was optimized using the response surface methodology. The highest DH (31.31%) and yield (52.02%) of SPHs were obtained under the following conditions: hydrolysis time, 4.0 h; hydrolysis temperature, 50 °C; and enzyme/substrate ratio, 2.43%. Ultrafiltration, gel filtration and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography was used and two novel antioxidant peptides were obtained. The sequences of the peptides determined by MALDI–TOF–MS/MS were LPTETLH (MW: 810.43 Da, P4-1) and IEEDLER (MW: 903.44 Da, P4-2), respectively. The results revealed SPHs as a potential valuable bioresource for production of antioxidant peptides in the food system.

Salix carmanica Bornm (Salicaceae) is a tree plant and mainly produced in Hotan and Kashgar of Xinjiang, with the characteristics of drought resistance and super vitality. It is widely used in sand control and desert greening, and is one of the first-selected tree species for sand control, afforestation and ecological environment improvement. S. carmanica Bornm is also one of the genuine medicinal materials in Xinjiang, with pharmacological effects such as clearing away heat, diminishing swelling, promoting secretion of body fluid to quench thirst, reducing adverse effects, stopping vomiting and lowering blood pressure. In order to protect the ecology and tap the authentic medicinal resources in Xinjiang, this article focuses on the utilization value and cultivation techniques of S. carmanica Bornm.
