Sulfate-reducing bacterial strain HR100 was isolated from sediments of Retba Lake, a pink hypersaline lake in Senegal. The cells were motile, nonsporulating, and rod shaped with polar flagella and incompletely oxidized a limited range of substrates to acetate and CO2. Acetate and vitamins were required for growth and could be replaced by Biotrypcase or yeast extract. Sulfate, sulfite, thiosulfate, and elemental sulfur were used as electron acceptors and were reduced to H2S. Growth occurred at pH values ranging from 5.5 to 8.0. The optimum temperature for growth was 37 to 40°C. NaCl and MgCl2 were required for growth; the optimum NaCl concentration was near 10%. The guanine-plus-cytosine content of the DNA was 57.1 ± 0.2 mol%. On the basis of the morphological and physiological properties of this strain, we propose that it should be classified in a new genus, Desulfohalobium, which includes a single species, Desulfohalobium retbaense. The type strain is strain DSM 5692.

International audience; Two new arborescent species of Santalaceae, both endemic to Madagascar, are described in the new monotypic genera, Staufferia Z. S. Rogers, Nickrent & Malecot and Pilgerina Z. S. Rogers, Nickrent & Malecot. Based on available molecular and morphological data, the new species are part of a clade formed with Pyrularia Michx. of Asia and North America, the Indo-Malesian genus Scleropyrum Arn., and the central and western African Okoubaka Pellegr. & Normand. Staufferia is distinguished morphologically from Okoubaka by the smaller inflorescences (4 to 10 vs. 50 to 100 flowers); smaller (1.8-2 X 1.1-1.6 car vs. ca. 9 X 5 cm), obovoidal (vs. ellipsoidal) fruits; smaller (ca. 1.5 mm vs. 7-8 mm diam.), persistent perianth; thinner (0.5-1 mar vs. 15-20 mar thick), 5-sulcate (vs. smooth) exocarp; and thinner (ca. 0.5 mar vs. 3-4 mni thick), smooth (vs. deeply striate or alveolate) mesocarp. Pilgerina differs from Scleropyrum by the smaller inflorescences (8 to 23 vs. 60 to 100 flowers); pedicellate (vs. sessile) flowers; smaller (1.2-1.9 X 1.7-2.7 cm vs. ca. 3 X 2 cm), broadly transversely ellipsoidal to subspheroidal (vs. obovoidal to pyriform) fruits; and thinner (ca. 0.5 mar vs. 1.54 mar thick), smooth or finely striate (vs. deeply striate or alveolate) mesocarp. A collection of 75 strains of Pectobacterium chrysanthemi (including all biovars and pathovars) and the type strains of Brenneria paradisiaca (CFBP 4178T) and Pectobacterium cypripedii (CFBP 3613T) were studied by DNA–DNA hybridization, numerical taxonomy of 121 phenotypic characteristics, serology and 16S rRNA gene-based phylogenetic analyses. From analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences, it was deduced that P. chrysanthemi strains and B. paradisiaca CFBP 4178T formed a clade distinct from the genera Pectobacterium and Brenneria; therefore, it is proposed to transfer all the strains to a novel genus, Dickeya gen. nov. By DNA–DNA hybridization, the strains of P. chrysanthemi were distributed among six genomic species: genomospecies 1 harbouring 16 strains of biovar 3 and four strains of biovar 8, genomospecies 2 harbouring 16 strains of biovar 3, genomospecies 3 harbouring two strains of biovar 6 and five strains of biovar 5, genomospecies 4 harbouring five strains of biovar 2, genomospecies 5 harbouring six strains of biovar 1, four strains of biovar 7 and five strains of biovar 9 and genomospecies 6 harbouring five strains of biovar 4 and B. paradisiaca CFBP 4178T. Two strains of biovar 3 remained unclustered. Biochemical criteria, deduced from a numerical taxonomic study of phenotypic characteristics, and serological reactions allowed discrimination of the strains belonging to the six genomic species. Thus, it is proposed that the strains clustered in these six genomic species be assigned to the species Dickeya zeae sp. nov. (type strain CFBP 2052T=NCPPB 2538T), Dickeya dadantii sp. nov. (type strain CFBP 1269T=NCPPB 898T), Dickeya chrysanthemi comb. nov. (subdivided into two biovars, bv. chrysanthemi and bv. parthenii), Dickeya dieffenbachiae sp. nov. (type strain CFBP 2051T=NCPPB 2976T), Dickeya dianthicola sp. nov. (type strain CFBP 1200T=NCPPB 453T) and Dickeya paradisiaca comb. nov., respectively.

This article is free to read on the publishers website A strictly anaerobic, halotolerant, spindle-shaped rod, designated strain SEBR 4211T, was isolated from an African saline oil-producing well. Cells stain Grampositive, which was confirmed by electron microscopy observations. Strain SEBR 4211T was motile by means of one to four peritrichous flagella, had a G+C content of 43 mol% and grew optimally at 37 °C, pH 7·3, with 0 to 3% (w/v) NaCI. It utilized a limited number of carbohydrates (cellobiose, glucose, fructose, mannitol and ribose) and produced acetate, butyrate, CO2 and H2 as end products from glucose fermentation. It reduced thiosulfate to sulfide. In the presence of thiosulfate, a decrease in butyrate and an increase in acetate production was observed. Phylogenetically, strain SEBR 4211T was related to members of the low G+C Clostridiales order with Clostridium halophilum as the closest relative (16S rDNA sequence similarity of 90%). On the basis of phenotypic, genotypic and phylogenetic characteristics of the isolate, it is proposed to designate it as a new species of a new genus, Fusibacter gen. nov., as Fusibacter paucivorans sp. nov. The type strain is SEBR 4211T (= DSM 12116T).

This article is free to read on the publishers website 16S rRNA gene sequences of three previously described amino-acid-fermenting anaerobes, Selenomonas acidaminovorans, ‘Selenomonas acidaminophila’ and Eubacterium acidaminophilum, were determined. All three were found to cluster within the Clostridium and related genera of the subphylum of the Gram-positive bacteria. The thermophile, S. acidaminovorans, formed an individual line of descent and was equidistantly placed between Dethiosulfovibrio peptidovorans and Anaerobaculum thermoterrenum (similarity of 85%), both of which also form single lines of descent. ‘S. acidaminophila’ was related to Clostridium quercicolum, a member of cluster IX, with a similarity of 90%, whereas E. acidaminophilum was closely related to Clostridium litorale (similarity of 96%) as a member of cluster XI. Based on the phylogenetic data presented in this report and the phenotypic descriptions of these bacteria published previously, it is recommended that S. acidaminovorans be transferred to a new genus, Thermanaerovibrio gen. nov., as Thermanaerovibrio acidaminovorans comb. nov. and ‘Selenomonas acidaminophila’ be transferred to a new genus, Anaeromusa gen. nov., as Anaeromusa acidaminophila comb. nov. Though the transfer of E. acidaminophilum to a new taxon is justified, this is not recommended until the taxonomic status of all the members of cluster XI has been reviewed.

The area of West Africa covered by this book includes eighteen countries : Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea (Bioko). Chad, Cameroon and part of Equatorial Guinea (Bioko) are usually treated as part of Central Africa rather than West Africa but these countries have been included because their freshwater crab faunas are principally West African in character (although endemic taxa and other species of Central African origin may also be represented in these countries). The West African faunal region is an informal subdivision of the Afrotropical (Ethiopian) zoogeographical region, and lies to the south of the European and Middle Eastern components of the Palaearctic zoogeographical region, where freshwater crabs of the genus #Potomon$ (family #Potamidae$, Ortmann, 1896) are found. The West African freshwater crab fauna includes at least thrity-two species in seven genera and one family. This fauna is arguably the most diverse in Africa and has a distinct character which differs greatly from that found elsewhere on the continent. The present work brings together recent contributions to the taxonomy, distribution, and ecology of the entire West African freshwater crab fauna (Bott, 1955, 1959, 1964, 1969a, 1970a ; Monod, 1977, 1980 ; Cumberlidge, 1985a, 1987, 1991a, 1993a,b,c, 1994a,b, 1995a,b,c,d, 1996a,b, 1999 ; Cumberlidge and Clark, 1992 ; Cumberlidge and Sachs, 1989a, 1991) and presents new information on phylogeny and biogeography. Two new species of amphistome (Trematoda) are discribed from "pacu", #Myleus ternetzi$, from French Guiana. For one of these, a new genus is proposed. Additionally, a common species, #Pseudocladorchis cylindricus$, is reported. #Pacudistoma guianensis$ sp. nov. is a robust form with a massive pharynx ; a large genital sucker ; long, convoluted ceca ; and a subterminal acetabulum that is smaller than the genital sucker. #Myleustrema concavatum$ gen. et sp. nov., on the other hand, has a slender, flattened body, concave dorsally ; a small pharynx ; no genital sucker ; ceca that are short, slender, and nearly straight ; and a small, terminal acetabulum which is provided with papillae. A new Gram-negative, non-sporulating, mesophilic, amino acid fermenting bacterium, designated strain ALA-1T (T=type strain), was isolated from an anaerobic lagoon of a dairy wastewater treatment plant. The strain is curved (3-4 μm×0.2-0.3 μm) and occurs singly or in pairs. Optimum growth occurs at 37°C and pH 7.3. The G+C content of the DNA is 46 mol %. The strain requires yeast extract for growth, grows poorly on casamino acids, peptones, cystein, and α-ketoglutarate, but readily grows on serine, threonine, glycine and pyruvate. When cocultured with the hydrogenotrophic methanogen Methanobacterium formicicum, strain ALA-1T oxidized alanine, glutamate, leucine, isoleucine, valine, aspartate, and methionine. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that it forms a distinct and independent line of descent in the vicinity of Dethiosulfovibrio peptidovorans, Dictyoglomus thermophilum, and Anaerobaculum thermoterrenum which are members of the low G+C containing Gram-positive bacteria. The phylogenetic results concur with the phenotypic and genomic data which reveal that it is a novel strain. Based on these findings, we designate strain ALA-1T as Aminobacterium colombiense (DSM 12261) gen. nov., sp. nov.

New data are given for the beetle family #Histeridae$, subfamily #Hetaeriinae$. Two collecting methods were fairly productive ; a flight interception trap and the flooding of whole antnests. A new cleaning technique was successfully tested for the preparation of genital structures ; these are prepared in a basic solution of Genitase proteolytic enzyme. The female genitalia of 12 species of #Hetaeriinae$ are described for the first time. New descriptive, distributional and/or ecological data are provided for 35 species, based on type-specimens, when possible. The following taxa are described as new : #Aristomorphus borgmeieri$, #A. latipes$, #A. ogloblini$, #A. perversus$, #Aristonister sericeus$, #Hemicolonides parvulus$ ; #Latronister breyeri$. The following new synonymy is proposed : #Oudaimosister$ Helava in Helava et al. 1985 = #Mesynodites$ Reichardt, 1924. Lectotype and where the case paralectotypes, are designated for the following species : #Aristomorphus borgmeieri$, #Aristonister sericeus$, #Cheilister sphaeroides$, #Clientister henrici$, #Colonides quadriglumis$, #Cossyphodister schwarzmaieri$, Ecclisister bickhardti$, #Euxenister caroli$, #Hemicolonides parvulus$, #Parasynodites suturacava$, #Pelatetister pretiosus$, #Teratosoma amphiphilus$, #Troglosternus dasypus$. A strictly anaerobic bacterium, strain BT, from termite hindgut homogenates, was isolated in pure culture and grew on 3-hydroxybenzoate as sole source of carbon and energy. No other substrate tested was degraded, sulfate, sulfite, thiosulfate, nitrate, ferric ion, oxygen or fumarate were not reduced, and no electron transfer to partner organisms was observed. 3-hydroxybenzoate was fermented to butyrate, acetate and CO2. Benzoate was detected in the culture supernatant as an intermediate. The isolate was a slightly motile, endospore-forming Gram-positive rod ; 16S rDNA sequence analysis revealed a high similarity to member of the genus #Desulfotomaculum$. The G+C content of the DNA was 48 mol%. Strain BT differs from the members of the genus #Desulfotomaculum$ significantly due to its lack of dissimilatory sulfate reduction, and is therefore described as the type strain of a new genus and species, #Sporotomaculum hydroxybenzoicum$ gen. nov., sp. nov. This article is free to read at the publisher's website A strictly anaerobic thiosulfate-reducing bacterium was isolated from a corroding offshore oil well in Congo and was designated strain SEBR 4207T. Pure culture of the strain induced a very active pitting corrosion of mild steel, with penetration rates of up to 4 mm per year. This constitutes the first experimental evidence of the involvement of thiosulfate reduction in microbial corrosion of steel. Strain SEBR 4207T cells were vibrios (3 to 5 by 1 µm), stained gram negative, and possessed lateral flagella. Spores were not detected. Optimum growth occurred in the presence of 3% NaCl at pH 7.0 and 42°C. Strain SEBR 4207T utilized peptides and amino acids, but not sugars or fatty acids. It fermented serine, histidine, and Casamino Acids, whereas arginine, glutamate, leucine, isoleucine, alanine, valine, methionine, and asparagine were only used in the presence of thiosulfate. Peptides were fermented to acetate, isobutyrate, isovalerate, 2-methylbutyrate, H2, and CO2. The addition of either thiosulfate or sulfur but not sulfate increased peptide utilization, growth rate, and biomass; during growth, H2S was produced and a concomitant decrease in H2 was observed. The addition of either thiosulfate or sulfur also reversed H2 inhibition. 16S rRNA sequence analysis indicates that strain SEBR 4207T is distantly related to members of the genus Thermoanaerobacter (83% similarity). Because the phenotypic and phylogenetic characteristics cannot be assigned to any described genus, strain SEBR 4207T is designated as a new species of a new genus, Dethiosulfovibrio peptidovorans gen. nov., sp. nov. Strain SEBR 4207T has been deposited in the Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und zellkulturen GmbH (= DSM 11002).

Helminths from the intestinal tracts of fish called "pacus" were studied. The fish were found only in rapids areas of Northeastern tributaries of the Amazon River. Since this species, Mylesinus paraschomburgkii JÉGU, SANTOS & FERREIRA, 1989, does not migrate, each river has a separate population in its upper reaches. These populations are believed to have been isolated from each other, by high water, since the last glaciation some 12,000 years ago. It was thought that differences in the helminth faunas might reflect such isolation. Collection sites were: the Uatumà, Pitinga and Capucapu Rivers, Amazonas State (considered one population), the Trombetas and Jari Rivers, Pará State and the Araguari River, Amapá State. Seven species of trematodes were found, namely: Alphamphistoma canoefomta gen. et sp. nov. which has a body that is extremely concave ventrally and short ceca; Betamphistoma jariense gen. et sp. nov. which has parallel testes and a cirrus sac with heavy muscular walls, Gammamphistoma collaris gen. et sp. nov. a small species with large suckers and an anterior collar; Deltamphistoma pitingaense gen. et sp. nov. a form with short to moderately long ceca and testes that extend laterally beyond them; Zetamphistoma compacta gen. et sp. nov. with a wide body that is convex on both surfaces and thin marginally; Pseudocladorchis cyclindricus (DIESING, 1836) with a large cylindrical body. parallel testes and vitelline follicles that extend anteriorly to beyond them and the Haploporidae, Saccocoelioides rotundus sp. nov. which has a compact body, rounded posteriorly and vitellaria that nearly surround the testis. P. cylindricus was found at all sites except the Jari River. The latter has also been repotted from other hosts. From three to four species of trematodes were found in each host population and some of these appear to be useful as markers. D. pitingaense was found only in the Amazonas State population and B. jariense appeared only in fish from the Jari River. The haploporid, S. rotundus was found in the Trombetas River population exclusively. The most typical trematode from Araguari River hosts was Z. compacta but this species was also found in fìsh from the Trombetas River. Two nematode species representing the family Atractidae, namely: Proatractis sp. and Rondonia rondoni TRAVASSOS, 1919, were found in all the fish examined. The former inhabits the pyloric ceca and the fìrst three or four centimeters of upper intestinal tract whereas R. rondoni completely packs the rest of the gut. Another nematode, Cucullanus sp. (Cucullanidae), was found in numbers from 1-24 in the upper intestinal tracts of hosts from the Trombetas River only.

Punchaulus gemellensis$ n. gen., n. sp. provenant de Los Gemelos, Ile de Santa Cruz, Galapagos, Equateur, est décrit. Il est caractérisé par un corps court et trapu (L = 300-404 micromètres; a = 14-19), un pore excréteur large et localisé au niveau de la base du procorpus, un bulbe médian presque sphérique, un isthme non musculeux long de 19-22 micromètres, un système reproducteur femelle monodelphe sans sac postvulvaire, des spicules à rostre prononcé et à limbe ventral plus long que le limbe dorsal, une queue conique à terminus tronqué et finement fimbrié. A new chemoorganotrophic bacterium, strain SYR, was isolated from the digestive tract of the wood-feeding termite #Nasutitermes lujae$. This organism was a slightly curved spore-forming rod-shaped bacterium. It had a gram-positive-type cell wall and was obligately anaerobic. It grew exclusively on a limited range of methylated aromatic compounds including 3,4,5-trimethoxycinnamate (TMC), sinapate (3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxycinnamate), 3,4-dimethoxycinnamate, 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoate, ferulate, syringate (3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxybenzoate), and vanillate (4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoate) but not on carbohydrates, alcohols, or fatty acids. The isolate required yeast extract for growth. Strain SYR grew optimally between 32 and 35°C and at pH values between 6.7 and 7.2, with NaCl concentrations from 0 to 5 g/liter, on TMC with a doubling time of about 25 h. During growth on TMC in the presence of sulfide or cysteine, dimethyl sulfide and acetate were produced, whereas methanethiol was an intermediary product of metabolism. The ring of the methoxylated aromatic compound was cleaved. The DNA base composition was 57 mol% guanine plus cytosine. Comparative 16S rRNA sequence analysis indicated that strain SYR was distantly related to #Eubacterium desmolans$ and #Eubacterium plautii$. On the basis of its distinct phylogenetic position and physiological properties, strain SYR has been designated a new species of a new genus, #Sporobacter termitidis$ gen. nov., sp. nov. Paraxiphidorus miichelluci$ n.g., n.sp. est décrit sur trois spécimens provenant de sol non cultivé d'Argentine. Ce nouveau genre est caractérisé par : région labiale en relief; amphides en étrier à ouverture large; odontostyle à base fourchue; odontophore à ailettes faiblement développées; guide du stylet en position postérieure; suppléments ventromédians dépassant le niveau des spicules; queue convexe-conoïde. Un genre nouveau, #Cyclaulacidea$ gen. n. (espèce-type #C. bruchivorus$ sp. n.) est décrit du Pérou et illustré. Il s'agit d'un parasitoïde des stades préimaginaux de la bruche #Caryoborus serripes$, qui attaque les fruits comestibles de plusieurs palmiers appartenant au genre #Astrocaryum$. Thraustomermis chengduensis$, n. gen., n. sp. (Mermithidae) est décrit à partir de spécimens provenant d'#Anopheles sinensis$ récoltés dans la province de Chengdu, Chine Populaire. Les caractères diagnostiques du genre #Thraustomermis$ n. gen. sont : taille moyenne, six cordes hypodermiques, six papilles céphaliques, pas de papilles labiales, amphides relativement petites, cuticule de l'adulte très mince et sans fibres transversales visibles, vagin en forme de tonneau parallèle à l'axe tranverse du corps, queue des juvéniles postparasites pourvue d'un appendice court. Les femelles se reproduisent parthénogénétiquement et exigent une température élevée (26-28° C) pour parvenir au stade postparasite dans leur hôte, le moustique. (Résumé d'auteur)

Le genre #Oreophorus$ Rüppell, 1830, contenait 13 espèces et avait été divisé par Ihle (1918) en trois sous-genres : #Oreophorus$ s. str., #Oreotlos$ Ihle, 1918 et #Tlos$ Adams et White, 1848. Plus d'une centaine de spécimens de ce groupe, provenant de différentes localités de l'Indo-Pacifique, ont été examinés, ainsi que les types de la plupart des espèces. #Oreophorus$ s. lato est divisé en six genres distincts, dont deux nouveaux, renfermant 28 espèces. Des néotypes et/ou des lectotypes sont désignés pour les espèces suivantes : #Alox rugosum$ (Stimpson, 1858) néotype, #Alox ornatum$ (Ihle, 1918) lectotype, #Alox patella$ (Alcock, 1896) lectotype. Onze espèces nouvelles sont décrites : #Alox antheos$, #Alox glene$, #Alox somphos$, #Alox zalion$, #Oreophorus crosnieri$, #Orephorus fenestrus$, #Oreotlos bertrandi$, #Oreotlos heuretos$, #Oreotlos lagarodes$, #Oreotlos pala$, #Oreotlos pax$. The occurrence of thermophilic, halophilic anaerobic bacteria in the sediment of a Tunisian salted lake was tested in samples collected at 20-cm intervals down to a depth of 1.20 m. A long rod, present only in the 40- to 60-cm layer, was isolated at 60 degrees C in a medium containing 100 g of NaCl per liter and designated strain H168. This strain produced acetate, ethanol, H2, and CO2 from glucose metabolism. Fructose, xylose, ribose, cellobiose, and starch were also oxidized. The optimum temperature for growth was 60 degrees C. No growth was obtained at 42 or 70 degrees C. Strain H168 grew optimally in NaCl concentrations ranging from 50 to 100 g per liter, with the upper and lower limits of growth around 200 and 40 g per liter, respectively. The G+C ratio of the DNA was 39.6 mol%. Although halophilic, moderately thermophilic bacteria have been characterized among anaerobes, particularly within methanogens, strain H168 is the first true thermophilic (growing above 60 degrees C) halophilic anaerobic bacterium described so far. The phylogeny, physiology, morphology, lipid content, and high G+C content of strain H168 are sufficiently different from those of genera belonging to the family Haloanaerobiaceae to justify the definition of a new genus.

Description est donnée de #Chiloplacoides antarcticus$ n. sp. provenant de l'ouest de la Terre de Dronning Maud, Antarctique. Ce nouveau genre de Cephalobidae se distingue par les caractères suivants : lèvres très en relief, nettement séparées, globuleuses ; probolae allongées, lamelliformes, ,fourchues à la partie distale et dépourvues de dents ou de cirres ; probolae céphaliques absentes ; procès de protection longs, sétiformes. A new record from north-western Australia permits the description of the first male of #Griffinia lappace$ (Rathbun, 1918) comb. nov. The morphological features and the shape of the first pleopod merit the creatuib of a new genus for this deep sea species : #Griffinia$ gen. nov. This new includes two other Pacific species, #G. gilloloensis$ (Rathbun, 1916) and #G. polita$ (Griffin and Tranter, 1986). (Résumé d'auteur)

Pour la première fois, #Scotnema lindsayae$ Timm, 1971 provenant de l'Antarctique est étudiée au MEB. #Metacrolobus festonatus$ gen. n. sp. n. provenant de la Terre de Feu est décrit et figuré. Ce nouveau genre, inclus parmi les Cephalobidae, est caractérisé par trois lèvres foliacées (la dorsale plus grande que les deux subventrales), à bord incisé et trois crètes tangentielles autour du stoma, reliées aux lèvres par trois paires de crètes radiales. La famille des Cephalobidae est discutée et la nouvelle sous-famille Metacrolobinae est proposée pour accueillir le nouveau genre #Metacrolobus$. (Résumé d'auteur)

Description est donnée d'#Aenigmenchus floreanae$ gen. n., sp. n., provenant de l'île de Floreana, Galapagos, Equateur. Il est apparemment proche de #Tylopharynx$, mais en diffère par un "stylet" minuscule (2,5-3,5 um), un pharynx très mince, une branche génitale femelle postérieure rudimentaire et la présence de quatre papilles génitales seulement chez le mâle. La forme générale et les proportions du corps ressemblent à celles des Tylenchidae, tandis que les spicules rappellent ceux des Cephalobidae. L'ouverture de l'amphide consiste en un pore minuscule et le "stylet" est si petit que sa structure exacte demeure incertaine. (Résumé d'auteur)

Stopractinca orientalis$ n. gen. se distingue par l'étroitesse de la partie antérieure du corps, la cuticule dépourvue de crêtes longitudinales mais comportant une ornementation en zigzags, une chambre pharyngienne globuleuse pourvue d'une paire d'onchia sur chaque branche, un odontostylet mince, un oesophage en trois parties et des suppléments ventro-médians disposés en file régulière. Le nouveau genre ressemble à $Brasilaimus$ Lordello & Zamith, 1957 ; #Stomachoglossa$ Andrassy, 1968 et #Parastomachoglossa$ Coomans & Loof, 1986 ; il diffère de ces trois genres par l'absence de crêtes longitudinales sur la cuticule, la présence de quatre dents supplémentaires situées postérieurement aux onchia et la disposition des suppléments ventro-médians. L'espèce type, #Stopractinca orientalis$ n. gen., n. sp., est décrite et illustrée. (Résumé d'auteur)
