According to the statistics from the official website of the National Bureau of Statistics, the population over 60 years old in China is close to 260 million, accounting for about 18.7% of the total population. As society moves towards aging, the safety problem of the elder people alone is gradually highlighted, and the accidental fall of the elderly at home has become a problem that cannot be ignored, and developing fall detection technology to mitigate the danger of falls of the elderly is imperative. So, this paper proposes a fall detection method which is based on deep learning. Specifically, the method is based on the Yolov3 method, and to enhance the accuracy and speed, the Yolov3 algorithm is updated to Yolov5s. The final experimental results also confirm that the above method has achieved the purpose.

To examine relationships between psychological capital, work engagement and organisational citizenship behaviour among nurses.Psychological capital, work engagement and organisational citizenship behaviour are all positive variables associated with work. Clarifying the relationship between the variables can help nursing managers implement tailored and effective intervention strategies to improve individual and organisational performance and quality of care.A quantitative cross-sectional study was designed.The study was carried out from June 2021 to September 2021 in Sichuan Province, China. A total of 606 nurses working at six tertiary hospitals were selected with convenience sampling. Participants were investigated using demographic, work-related information questionnaire, Psychological Capital Questionnaire, Utrecht Work Engagement Scale and Organizational Citizenship Behavior Questionnaire.The scores of psychological capital, work engagement and organisational citizenship behaviour were 102.56 ± 15.47, 67.96 ± 21.71 and 101.57 ± 11.57, respectively. The multiple linear regression model explained 7.3% of the total variance in organisational citizenship behaviour related to demographic and work-related factors. There was a significant positive correlation between psychological capital, work engagement and nurses' organisational citizenship behaviour. Additionally, structural equation modeling showed that work engagement mediated the relationship between psychological capital and organisational citizenship behaviour with the partial mediating effect of 0.093. The final model explained 28% of organisational citizenship behaviour.Our results suggest that both psychological capital and work engagement are facilitators for organisational citizenship behaviour in nurses. Managers can increase nurses' organisational citizenship behaviour through developing psychological capital and improving the work engagement.This study indicates that both psychological capital and work engagement are protective factors of organisational citizenship behaviour, which provide proof for optimizing human resources management from a positive psychology perspective. Our finding can help managers correctly understand the mechanism of the relationship among work engagement, psychological capital and organisational citizenship behaviour and adopt effective intervention strategies to promote nurses' organisational citizenship behaviour.

In this study, the effect of channel baffles and louver baffles on the flow pattern in the large-scale industrial fluidized beds was studied by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods. Then, the effect of flow pattern on the chemical reaction performance was studied for the first time. Simulation results showed that the gas velocity distributed more uniformly, solid particles dispersed more homogeneously and aggregation scarcely occurred in the fluidized bed with louver baffles than that with channel baffles. The residence time distribution indicated that louver baffles remarkably suppressed gas back-mixing in comparison with channel baffles. The reasonable agreements of pressure distribution and reaction results between the simulation in the bed with channel baffles and the data on a large-scale industrial apparatus demonstrated the accuracy of the CFD model. The predicted conversion of SiCl4 in the bed with louver baffles (27.44%) was higher than that with channel baffles (22.69%), indicating that louver baffles markedly improved the performance of the fluidized bed. This study could provide useful information for future structural improvements of baffles in large-scale fluidized beds.

Background. Primary trigeminal neuralgia (PTN) is a clinical refractory disorder characterized by excruciating pain that severely impacts the quality of life. Several studies have shown that acupuncture can improve PTN pain. However, the comparative efficacy and safety of acupuncture are unknown. Herein, a systematic review was conducted to compare the efficacy and safety of various acupuncture methods for PTN treatment. Methods. Relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published up to 1 August 2021 were obtained from PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science Core Collection, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, CQVIP Database, Wanfang Database, Allied and Alternative Medicine Database, and related registration platforms. Two authors independently selected the studies and obtained data. Cochrane Handbook was used to assess the methodological quality. We put the pain relief as the primary outcome and the response rate and adverse events as the secondary outcomes. Review Manager v5.3, ADDIS v1.16.8, and STATA v15.0 software were used for data analysis. The intraclass correlation coefficient was used to assess the consistency of the two investigators. Results. A total of 58 RCTs with 4,126 participants were obtained. The meta-analysis indicated that five acupuncture methods were superior to conventional medicine (carbamazepine) in pain reduction intensity and response rate. Meanwhile, electronic acupuncture plus manual acupuncture was the most effective therapy since it reduced pain intensity in 11 methods and improved the response rate in 10 interventions. Moreover, six interventions had acceptable adverse events, and none of the included studies reported severe adverse events. However, most pieces of evidence were ranked as critically low. Conclusion. These findings show that acupuncture methods can be effective and safe for PTN. Moreover, electronic acupuncture plus manual acupuncture maybe the best acupuncture treatment for PTN and should be administered to PTN patients. However, additional well-designed and high-quality RCTs should be conducted to verify the above findings in the future. The systematic review is registered with CRD42020221456.

To identify the ultrasonographic characteristics of primary squamous cell carcinoma of the thyroid (PSCCT), and to assess the value of the 2015 American Thyroid Association (ATA) guideline and 2017 American College of Radiology (ACR) Thyroid Imaging, Reporting and Data System (TI-RADS) in the evaluation of this disease.Eight patients with 9 PSCCTs over a 20-year study period were enrolled. Ultrasonic characteristics including nodule echogenicity, composition, shape, margin, calcification, size, vascularity, and cervical lymphadenopathy were reviewed. All nodules were then evaluated by 2017 ACR TI-RADS and 2015 ATA guidelines.The average size of PSCCTs was 3.87 ± 1.41 cm. All PSCCTs were hypoechoic or very hypoechoic, solid nodules with intranodular vascularity. The average resistive index (RI) was 0.84 ± 0.18. Near half of PSCCTs (44.4%) demonstrated extrathyroidal extension. Taller-than-wide signs and cervical lymphadenopathy were observed in 33.3% of PSCCTs, and microcalcification was observed in 11.1% of them. All PSCCTs were classified as high suspicion patterns by 2015 ATA and recommended for fine-needle aspiration (FNA). Six PSCCTs (66.7%) were classified as grade 5 by 2017 ACR TI-RADS, while the remaining were grade 4. 88.9% of PSCCTs were recommended for FNA based on 2017 ACR TI-RADS.PSCCT has certain ultrasonic features, including relatively large, hypoechoic, or very hypoechoic solid nodules with intranodular vascularity and extrathyroidal extension. Both 2015 ATA and 2017 ACR TI-RADS could identify PSCCT as suspicious for malignancy.

Study design Experimental study. Objectives The goal of this study was to develop a 3D-printed pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO) guide plate system. A 3D model and postoperative CT data were used to evaluate the accuracy of osteotomy with this system. Summary of background data The key to the success of spinal orthopaedic treatment is an effectively performed osteotomy. A 3D-printed osteotomy plate can be used for preoperative surgical planning. Due to the anatomical complexity of the spinal region, the clinical application of 3D-printed osteotomy plates remains challenging. Methods The CT scans of 10 patients with thoracolumbar spinal deformities were obtained in the DICOM format. The diseased vertebrae and adjacent vertebrae were reconstructed and reduced by computer-aided design (CAD) software, and an osteotomy plate was designed for the diseased vertebrae. The 3D-printed spinal model and osteotomy plate were used to simulate the operation for PSO. After the operation, the vertebral body treated by osteotomy underwent a CT scan, and the findings were compared with the preoperative design to evaluate the osteotomy accuracy. Results The new 3D guide plate and spine model were used to successfully simulate 10 cases of PSO, and the comparison of the preoperative and postoperative states indicated that the osteotomy outcomes were excellent. Conclusions The new 3D-printed PSO guide plate system can be used for preoperative osteotomy planning and demonstrates good accuracy. The results can be used to develop 3D-printed plans for PSO in clinical practice.Level of Evidence: 3.

How to directionally design the hollow zeolite via a green route is of great significance. Here, we successfully synthesized the hollow Fe-silicate-1 encapsulated ultra-small Fe2O3 nanoparticles (2.5 nm) with higher yield (85.2%) by mother liquid than traditional dissolution-recrystallization for the first time, which was achieved by precisely regulating the number and distribution of defects in zeolite and cleverly utilizing the TPAOH and nuclei in mother liquor. The effects of synthetic temperature, synthetic period and addition amount of parent zeolite on the formation of hollow zeolite have been investigated and the effect of synthetic conditions on the defects in parent zeolite has been also firstly quantified. The corresponding formation mechanism has been proposed. The abundant inner defects provided by the zeolite synthesized at 130 °C for 1 day and large amount of TPAOH remaining in mother liquid are conducive to the formation of hollow zeolite. Meanwhile, both parent zeolite and nuclei (4-, 5-member rings and structure units) in mother liquid obtained at 130 °C play the crucial roles in enhancing the zeolite yield. Notably, Fe2O3 nanoparticles could decompose into small fragments by the interaction with nuclei in mother liquid. Partial ultra-small Fe2O3 nanoparticles would be encapsulated in cavity and the rest could be inserted in the zeolite framework, which is significantly different from the conventional dissolution-recrystallization mechanism. The obtained encapsulated catalyst shows the superior catalytic performance and stability in phenol and tetracycline degradation reactions.

BACKGROUND: To evaluate the value of intraoperative B-mode ultrasound and shear wave elastography (SWE) in differentiating low-grade and high-grade gliomas. METHODS: A total of 172 patients with glioma were examined by B-mode ultrasound to obtain a tumor sonogram. Intraoperative SWE was performed on 52 patients to obtain Young’s modulus values of peritumor tissue and tumor tissue, and the differences in conventional B-mode signs and Young’s modulus values of gliomas of different grades were then compared. The diagnostic performance of SWE in glioma grading was assessed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, and the intra- and interobserver reliability of SWE was analyzed by the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). RESULTS: For B-mode ultrasound, patient age, cystic degeneration, and peritumor edema were independent risk factors for high-grade glioma (P1). For SWE, Young’s modulus values of peritumor tissue, low-grade glioma, and high-grade glioma tissues were 8.20 (7.50, 9.70) kPa, 19.65 (15.30, 24.75) kPa, and 9.55 (8.50, 13.80) kPa, respectively. Water distillation is an effective method for detritiation and deuterium enrichment. This study focuses on the effect of the wettability of the packings surface on the separation performance of the H2O-HDO system. Hydrophilic coatings with different structures are prepared on the surface of copper packings by the method of alkaline erosion and oxidation, and it is found that the hydrophilic coatings with different structures showed different hydrophilic effects. The differences in mass transfer performance of packings with different contact angles are investigated. It is found that with the increase of hydrophilicity, the mass transfer performance of the packing is relatively improved. By combining empirical models of mass transfer and experimental data, a mathematical model for predicting the height of equal plate (HETP) is established to quantify the effect of wetting properties on the mass transfer process.

BACKGROUND: Advanced carotid ultrasound techniques may be useful in characterizing plaque vulnerability, but comprehensive studies are still lacking. The aim of this study was to identify factors associated with vulnerable plaques using advanced ultrasound techniques. METHODS: This is a prospective observational study of patients with >50% internal carotid stenosis (ICA). All patients underwent conventional ultrasound, superb microvascular imaging (SMI) and shear wave elastography (SWE) examinations. Plaque size, echogenicity, stiffness and intraplaque neovascularization (IPN) were assessed and compared between symptomatic and asymptomatic groups. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to evaluate the diagnostic performance of SWE and SMI of the vulnerable plaques. RESULTS: The final analysis included 123 patients (78.9% male; mean age, 66±8 years), 65 were enrolled in the symptomatic group, and 58 were enrolled in the asymptomatic group. Background Risk stratification of asymptomatic carotid plaque remains an issue in stroke prevention in clinical practice. Purpose To investigate whether a multimodal ultrasound (MMU) model would help plaque risk stratification in patients with asymptomatic carotid stenosis. Material and Methods A prospective study was conducted of symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with > 50% proximal internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis. All patients underwent MMU examination. Multivariable regression analyses were performed to identify parameters associated with ischemic vascular events (IVE). These parameters were used to develop a scoring nomogram to assess the probability of IVE. We elaborated the diagnostic performance of the MMU nomogram using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Results From December 2018 to December 2019, 98 patients (75 men, mean age 67 ± 8 years) were included; 50 were symptomatic and 48 were asymptomatic. Multivariable regression analyses revealed that plaque surface morphology (PSM) (odds ratio [OR] 2.99, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.26–7.12, P = 0.013), intraplaque neovascularization (IPN) grades (OR 3.23, 95% CI 1.77–5.89, PConclusions In patients with proximal ICA > 50%, PSM, IPN grades, and CSD were independent variables associated with IVE. The MMU nomogram provided favorable value to risk stratification of IVE. Future large-scale studies with long-term follow-up are needed to validate these findings.

To explore the role of substituents on ligands in the modification of metal catalysts, a series of Ru–amide/AC catalysts are synthesized with various amide ligands derived from formamide and assessed for acetylene hydrochlorination. Activity evaluation reveals a rule that replacing a hydrogen on formamide with an electron donor substituent can enhance the catalytic performance, while electron withdrawing substituents have the opposite effect. However, formanilide, which violates this law, shows the best modification effect, which is proved to be the effect of steric hindrance by characterization and DFT calculation. Therefore, another rule is concluded that the electron donor ability and steric hindrance of substituents on amide ligands jointly affect the modification effect. Finally, benzanilide, with a superior modification effect, which searched based on the above results, gives strong evidence for the correction of these rules. This work provides a theoretical basis for the search for efficient ligands for acetylene hydrochlorination.

Sleep deprivation (SD) is very common in modern society and regarded as a potential causal mechanism of several clinical disorders. Previous neuroimaging studies have explored the neural mechanisms of SD using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) from static (comparing two MRI sessions [one after SD and one after resting wakefulness]) and dynamic (using repeated MRI during one night of SD) perspectives. Recent SD researches have focused on the dynamic functional brain organization during the resting-state scan. Our present study adopted a novel metric (temporal variability), which has been successfully applied to many clinical diseases, to examine the dynamic functional connectivity after SD in 55 normal young subjects. We found that sleep-deprived subjects showed increased regional-level temporal variability in large-scale brain regions, and decreased regional-level temporal variability in several thalamus subregions. After SD, participants exhibited enhanced intra-network temporal variability in the default mode network (DMN) and increased inter-network temporal variability in numerous subnetwork pairs. Introduction Transcranial color-coded duplex sonography (TCCS) with and without ultrasound contrast agent has been used to diagnose cerebral venous thrombosis, however, no experience in the diagnosis of patients with cerebral venous thrombosis and with dural arteriovenous fistula (dAVF) by contrast-enhanced TCCS has been reported yet. Case report The authors reported a 49-year-old male patient with straight sinus (StS) thrombosis and dAVF. Plain TCCS and contrast-enhanced TCCS demonstrated the direct presentation of the selected feeder and drainage veins of the dAVFs, arterialized venous flow waveform, and an enlarged optic nerve sheath diameter, indicating an increased intracranial pressure, and a filling defect in the StS even after administration of an ultrasound contrast agent. After intravascular thrombolysis and blockage of 2 feeders of the dAVF, TCCS still showed retrograde flow direction in the left basal vein and significantly elevated flow velocity in the StS, reflecting a high venous pressure caused by a high volume of arteriovenous shunt and severe stenosis in the StS. The patient's clinical manifestation did not substantially improve until 3 stents were implanted in the StS, and TCCS unveiled that the stents were well filled with flow signal, and the flow velocity in the StS dramatically decreased. Conclusions TCCS could provide reliable data about the feeder and drainage veins of dAVF in our case. The extent of an increase in venous flow velocity may be closely associated with clinical manifestations, which may influence therapy. Moreover, TCCS possesses a unique advantage in terms of evaluating the patency of the stents compared with other neuroimaging techniques.

The successful design of a hybrid supercapacitor with high power and energy density is mainly based on innovative materials and unique structures. Herein, self-supported Ni–Co(CO3)0.5(OH)·0.11H2O@MnNiCo–OH (Ni–CCH@MnNiCo–OH) with a hollow core/shell cactus-like structure was synthesized as a battery-type positive electrode and KOH-activated ZIF-67 derived Co, N dual-doped hierarchical ZIF-67-C-KOH was prepared as a capacitive-type negative electrode. Benefiting from the optimized ZIF-67-template modification and polymetallic co-deposition tactics, the positive electrode exhibits an outstanding specific capacity of 8.2 C cm−2 at 1.5 mA cm−2 (1029.3 C g−1 at 1 A g−1) and an impressive cycling retention of 88% after 3000 cycles at 20 mA cm−2, which are better than those of Ni–Co3O4@ZIF-67-Co3O4, Ni–CCH@NiCo–OH and Ni–CCH@MnCo–OH electrodes. Likewise, ZIF-67-C-KOH profits from the nitrogen-rich and porous properties of the precursor and can attain a specific capacitance of 262.4 F g−1 at 1 A g−1 as well as an excellent rate performance of 82% at 10 A g−1. The assembled Ni–CCH@MnNiCo–OH//ZIF-67-C-KOH hybrid device has a maximum voltage window of 1.8 V and achieves a specific capacitance of 187.3 F g−1 at 1 A g−1, a high energy density of 84.29 W h kg−1 at a power density of 900 W kg−1 as well as a fantastic stability up to 5000 cycles (74.91% retention at 2 A g−1), showing enormous potential in energy-storage applications.

The recently proposed mutually partially unbiased bases (MPUB)–based protocol, which encodes with Laguerre–Gaussian modes and Hermite–Gaussian modes of the same mode order, can close the security loophole caused by state-dependent diffraction. However, its pessimistic security proof limits the performance, and some practical issues, such as finite-key size and imperfect sources, have not been considered. Here, we improve the key rates of the MPUB-based protocol by accurately estimating the phase error rate. Moreover, the effect of finite-key size and its performance when combined with the decoy state method are demonstrated. Our work broadens the application scope of the MPUB-based protocol, and thereby advances the development of high-dimensional quantum key distribution using spatial modes.

It is of great significance to explore the flow structures in gas-liquid slug and churn flows. Aiming at this purpose, a novel plug-in optical probe combined with conductance sensors are designed. Furthermore, we perform experimental study of gas-liquid flows in vertical upward pipe with 20 mm inner diameter. Simultaneously, the local time average of void fraction in axial direction, cross-correlation velocity and instantaneous bubble chord distribution in slug and churn flows at seven radial positions are obtained. The research results show that big deformed bubbles in churn flow spiral up in test pipe, but sometimes they rise along pipe center just as gas slugs in slug flow. Besides, bubble chord length distributions in liquid slug of slug and churn flows are analyzed in this study.

One-pot conversion of furfural to the target product γ-valerolactone (GVL) is a challenging and meaningful part of biomass exploitation. Development of heterogeneous catalysts with both Bronsted and Lewis acid properties has proved to be promising and useful because they offer an efficient way to tandem cascade reactions from furfural to GVL. Herein, we successfully synthesized sulfated DUT-67(Hf), a novel bifunctional catalyst, via a post-synthetic modification method. The prepared sulfated DUT-67(Hf) was characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, N2 adsorption-desorption, Elemental (N, C, H, S) analyses, situ infrared spectra of pyridine adsorptions, XPS, FT-IR, TG, and NH3-TPD. The acidity of the catalysts could be adjusted by submersion in different concentrations of aqueous sulfuric acid, giving 0.01 mol/L sulfuric acid for 0.42 mmol/g acidity to 0.1 mol/L sulfuric acid for 2.16 mmol/g acidity. Sulfated DUT-67(Hf) possessed by 0.06 mol/L aqueous sulfuric acid exhibited optimal catalytic activity and showed an 87.1% yield of GVL under the conditions of 180 °C after 24 h of reaction. Moreover, the mechanism of introducing Bronsted acid sites into DUT-67(Hf) and the better hydrogen donors was also investigated through contrasting experiments.

Fe-doped zeolites with Mobil Five (MFI) structure have been widely used as heterogeneous Fenton catalysts to eliminate dyes from wastewater. However, the influence of carriers on degradation efficiency has not been reported yet. In this work, we have prepared three Fe-doped zeolite catalysts, FeS-1, FeZSM-5, and FeTS-1, with silicalite-1 (S-1), zeolite socony mobil-5 (ZSM-5), and titanium silicalite-1 (TS-1) as carriers, respectively. Characterizations, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy, energy-disperse X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflection spectroscopy (UV–Vis DRS), X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, zeta potential, and N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms, were used to investigate the morphologies and physicochemical properties of the synthesized materials. The catalytic performances of all zeolite catalysts were evaluated in the degradation experiments. The results depicted that the degradation efficiency of FeZSM-5 was higher than that of FeS-1 and FeTS-1 owing to its higher hydrophilic property, larger external specific surface area, and more negative zeta potential value. Therefore, the ZSM-5 could be a more suitable solid matrix for heterogeneous Fenton reactions than S-1 and TS-1.
