Two patients with eosinophilic cellulitis are reported and 22 additional cases from the literature are reviewed. Cutaneous lesions are variable in appearance and may be confused with cellulitis, urticaria, insect bites, or contact dermatitis. Microscopically, there is a dense dermal infiltrate of eosinophils. Subsequently, granulomatous features with characteristic "flame figures" become apparent. Peripheral eosinophilia is common. The etiology of eosinophilic cellulitis is unknown, although a hypersensitivity mechanism is suspected. Treatment with systemic corticosteroids is frequently effective, but the disease is often characterized by relapses that can occur for several years.

A patient developed nodules on the scalp in the distribution of blood vessels and was found to have multiple myeloma. Biopsy of a nodule and of muscle demonstrated amyloid in the vasculature. Clinical manifestations of vascular amyloid are discussed. Cutaneous nodules along the course of vessels and symptoms of peripheral vascular disease may be presenting signs of systemic amyloidosis.

The Papillon-Lefèvre syndrome is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by diffuse palmoplantar keratoderma and premature loss of both the deciduous and the permanent teeth. We report two female patients with Papillon-Lefèvre syndrome in whom treatment with oral isotretinoin produced remarkable improvement of the keratoderma within 2 weeks.
