This article presents densities, ρ and speeds of sound, u of 1-tert-butoxy-2-propanol (CH3)3COCH2CH(OH)CH3 with alcohols, viz., 1-hexanol CH3(CH2)5OH, 1-octanol CH3(CH2)7OH and 1-decanol CH3(CH2)9OH at 293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15 and 313.15 K and viscosities, η at 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15 K over the entire composition range. These experimental data of density and speed of sound were used to calculate the values of excess molar volumes, VmE, excess molar isentropic compressibilities, KS,mE, and deviation in speeds of sound, uD. Viscosity data was used to compute deviation in viscosities, Δη. The viscosity data have been correlated with the equations of Heric and Brewer (three-parameter), and McAllister (four body interactions). The calculated excess properties are discussed in terms of molecular interaction between present investigated binary mixtures and with Fourier Transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. These excess functions and their deviations have also been correlated using Redlich-Kister type polynomial equation by the method of least-squares for the estimation of the binary coefficients and the standard errors. Densities, ρ, and speeds of sound, u, have been measured for the binary liquid mixtures of ethylenediamine, (NH2CH2CH2NH2), with 2-methyl-1-propanol, (C4H10O), 2-propanol, (C3H8O), and 1-butanol, (C4H10O), at (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15) K and viscosities at (298.15, 303.15, and 308.15) K and a pressure of 0.1 MPa as a function of composition. Furthermore, using the experimental results excess molar volumes, VmE, isentropic compressibilities, κS, deviation in isentropic compressibilities, ΔκS, deviation in speeds of sound, Δu, and viscosity deviations, Δη, have been calculated. The values of VmE, ΔκS, Δu, and Δη were fitted to the Redlich–Kister polynomial equation and have been used to discuss the presence of significant interactions between amine and alcohol molecules. Abstract: The densities (ρ) and speeds of sound (u) have been measured over the whole composition range for (butan-1-ol with hexane, or octane, or decane) at T =(298.15, 303.15, and 308.15)K and atmospheric pressure along with the properties of the pure components. Viscosities (η) of these binary mixtures have also been measured over the entire composition range at T =298.15K. Experimental values of density, viscosity and speed of sound have been used to evaluate excess properties viz. excess molar volumes (V E), deviation in viscosity (Δη), deviation in speeds of sound (Δu), deviation in isentropic compressibility (Δκ s) and excess Gibbs free energy of activation of viscous flow (ΔG ∗E). The excess properties have been correlated using the Redlich–Kister polynomial equation. The sign and magnitude of these excess properties have been used to interpret the results in terms of intermolecular interactions and structural effects. The viscosity data have also been correlated by Grunberg and Nissan, Tamura–Kurata, and Hind correlation equations. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Fused heterocyclic systems containing a bridgehead nitrogen atom have emerged as imperative pharmacophores in the design and development of new drugs. Among these heterocyclic moieties, the imidazothiazole scaffold has long been used in medicinal chemistry for the treatment of various diseases. In this study, we have established a simplistic and environmentally safe regioselective protocol for the synthesis of 5,6-dihydroimidazo[2,1- b ]thiazole derivatives from easily available reactants. The reaction proceeds through in situ formation of the α-bromodiketones ensuing trap with imidazolidine-2-thione to provide these versatile bicyclic heterocycles in excellent yields. The synthesized compounds were screened through the molecular docking approach for the most stable complex formation with bovine serum albumin (BSA) and calf thymus deoxyribonucleic acid (ctDNA). The selected compound was further studied using ex vivo binding studies, which revealed moderate interactions with BSA and ctDNA. The binding studies were performed using biophysical approaches including UV-visible spectroscopy, steady-state fluorescence, circular dichroism (CD), and viscosity parameters.
