This study explains the case study to develop a metaverse-based training system for the management of the physical fitness of youth. The study targeted developing a smart mirror-based AR physical fitness system and a bone age-based physical fitness management service to enhance exercise capability in youth. Accordingly, the data on youth’s bone age, physical strength, and physique were collected. Based on the collected data, the stage of the human development in youth was categorized, and the physical fitness management system providing the exercise program customized for the phases of physical development was implemented. Furthermore, a solution was devised so that youth with less physical exercise experience could practice physical fitness training without a coach using the smart mirror-based AR physical fitness system. This system uses an RGB-D camera and a three-dimensional posture estimation algorithm to recognize a user’s movement, determine movement accuracy, and provide feedback for the improved exercise effect. The XR Physical Fitness, using a smart mirror implemented in this article, features two features of metaverse’s augmented reality and lifelogging, enabling the youth to enjoy more immersive and enjoyable exercise experiences.

Stacked-ring aromaticity arising from the close stacking of antiaromatic π-systems has recently received considerable attention. Here, we realize stacked-ring aromaticity via a rational supramolecular approach. A nanocapsule composed of bent polyaromatic amphiphiles was employed to encapsulate several antiaromatic norcorrole Ni(II) complexes (NCs) in water. The elegant architectures of nonplanar π-systems, such as fullerene and corannulene, exhibit distinctive functionalities that have played a significant role in advancing science and technology. The current approach to synthesizing nonplanar π-systems heavily relies on the stepwise formation of bonds between their constituent fragments, which is known as the bottom-up approach. The limited number of synthetic pathways to nonplanar π-systems inevitably results in impractical molecular frameworks. Herein, we demonstrate that a constructive destruction approach, based on the oxidative cleavage of internal double bonds of dibenzo[g,p]chrysene that immediately produces eightphenone: the first readily available figure-eight molecule. Eightphenone adopts a D2-symmetric structure with excellent configurational stability and is a highly efficient emitter of circularly polarized phosphorescence. The oxidative cleavage of internal double bonds is also applicable to larger nanographene molecules, resulting in unprecedented structures with multiple figure-eight units. This study introduces the concept of constructive destruction as an alternative to conventional bottom-up approaches, paving the way for the design of new materials.

A miniaturized electrical beam-scanning reflectarray antenna providing a directional beam and wide steering ranges with fixed θ-polarization is proposed. To accomplish these properties, we devise a new active reflectarray cell that can control both the phase and polarization of incident waves. Accordingly, we can enforce all reflected waves to constructively interfere with each other in all target directions. To feed the proposed reflectarray cells, an omnidirectional monopole antenna is installed at the center of the reflectarray, which illuminates the reflectarray evenly. In addition, because the monopole feeder is directly connected to the reflectarray, we can significantly reduce the overall volume of the antenna down to about 0.5 λ3 with a small F/D ratio of 0.147. Consequently, the proposed antenna attains a wide scan coverage and directional beam patterns. Moreover, the antenna can also maintain polarization direction stably, which is strongly required for dynamically moving platforms such as drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The experimental results agree well with the predictions, proving the validity of our approach.
