Studies on fruit fly species are incipient in the Mato Grosso state. To obtain data on fruit flies, their host plants and parasitoids in this Brazilian state, samplings were carried out in 11 municipalities, in two periods (October to November 2018 and February to October 2019). The collections were carried out in traps and in fruits from several commercial sites. Nine species of Anastrepha were collected, in addition to Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann, 1824) and three species of parasitoids. Anastrepha bahiensis Lima, 1937, A. undosa Stone, 1942 and the parasitoid Opius bellus Gahan, 1930 are being recorded for the first time in the Mato Grosso state. Additionally, new host plant records are presented for 11 fruit fly species. This is the second survey of fruit flies carried out in a large area of the Mato Grosso state. Introduction: Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) refers to the set of attitudes from which one can know and apply the best evidence, understand patients' preferences and use clinical experience to optimize care, as well as facilitate decision making by health teams. to prole physical therapy professionals as to their unde Objectives: rstanding and application of EBP in their clinical routines. Methods: this is a survey study involving 146 physiotherapists of both genders, from all Brazilian regions. The professionals were contacted exclusively by e-mail, through their respective regional professional councils, in order to receive the electronic questionnaires, prepared for this purpose using the Google Forms platform. The questionnaires were available for 90 days, after which they were no longer accepted. Results: 74.6% of the sample was female; there was almost unanimous agreement that EBP is necessary in clinical practice. Approximately 95% agreed that EBP can be applied even in high demand settings and 84.4% said they were able to insert the guidelines of practice guides into their clinical routines. However, it is noteworthy that 98.6% said they lacked the ability to search relevant scientic literature and the main reasons for not performing EBP were: lack of time, lack of ability to search relevant scientic literature and lack of ndings on a given patient population. the authors conclude that Brazilian physical therapists recognize the im Conclusion: portance of EBP as a guide for clinical decision making and that they use it in their professional routines, however, they need adequate orientation on efcient scientic searches in order to promote treatment excellence through reliable scientic materials.

Os deslizamentos de terra constituem um dos principais fenômenos causadores de desastres naturais, provocando prejuízos materiais e vítimas fatais. Por isso, um sistema inteligente capaz de prever esses eventos seria útil para suporte ao poder público no processo de tomada de decisão e no gerenciamento situacional em cidades inteligentes. Este trabalho realizou a integração de múltiplos sistemas necessários para enfrentar o problema e utilizou técnicas de mineração de dados e aprendizado de máquina na construção de uma base de dados integrada e na predição de deslizamentos de terra induzidos por chuvas. Os experimentos demonstraram resultados promissores, sendo corretamente preditos cerca 90% dos registros de deslizamentos.

Background Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis and represents an important global public health issue. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms and INDELs are common genetic variations that can be located in genes associated with immune response and, therefore, they may have direct implications over the phenotype of susceptibility to infections like tuberculosis. This study aimed to investigate the association between the 17 genetic polymorphisms and susceptibility to tuberculosis in a Brazilian population. Methods This case-control study enrolled 283 individuals with active tuberculosis and 145 health care workers. Four INDELs and 13 single nucleotide polymorphisms and were genotyped using Multiplex PCR method and TaqMan SNP Genotyping Assays. Group comparisons for categorical variables were performed using the chi-squared test, whilst the t-Student test was used to analyze the continuous variables. Multiple logistic regression analyses were performed to estimate the odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). Deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was assessed using chi-squared tests with Bonferroni correction. The results were analyzed comparing the genotypic distributions adopting the dominant model and the estimated values ​​of p corrected for multiple tests through FDR (False Discovery Rate) test. Results The HWE test confirmed that the genotypic frequencies for polymorphisms were balanced. The frequency of Del allele was 73 and 75%, in cases and controls respectively. Frequency of Del allele was significantly higher in the control group than TB group. The homozygous Del/Del genotype was present in 51.6% of cases and 58.6% of controls. The rare Ins/Ins genotype was present in only 7.6% of controls and 6% of cases. The ACE Del/Del genotype was significantly higher in the cases than in controls revealing significant protection for TB in the domain model (OR = 0.465; p Conclusions The Del/Del genotype of the rs4646994 in ACE gene was associated with susceptibility to tuberculosis. The identification of genetic variants responsible for susceptibility to tuberculosis will allow the development of new diagnostic tools for tuberculosis infection. These studies will help improve control and the future eradication of this disease.

Introduction: Physiotherapy through evidence-based practice (EBP) can enrich information about the history of the disease, conduct the examination, aid in therapeutic diagnosis, and guide appropriate intervention. Objectives: To describe the attitudes, knowledge and behaviors of students of the physiotherapy course regarding EBP, as well as the main barriers found for its full implementation. Methods: This is a survey study, carried out among students from the 7th semester of the physiotherapy course from all Brazilian macro-regions and duly enrolled in invited Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Results: About 97% agreed that EBP is important in clinical practice, 31.94% said they did not receive formal training in EBP or received it partially during undergraduate studies, 87.5% said they have the ability for quality clinical research and 69.44% admitted to being able to incorporate practical guides to their learning and/or care. Among the main barriers pointed out for not performing EBP are insufficient time for scientific research, lack of information and lack of articles on the general population to which the patient belongs. Conclusion: The students considered the EBP an important tool in higher level learning and most of them both seek and apply knowledge present in relevant clinical research in their learning and/or care, although a considerable percentage never received formal training or read few articles per month. Among the barriers pointed to the achievement of EBP, the lack of skill for relevant scientific research and the lack of findings in the scientific literature for a certain population of patients, are factors that can be fully assisted by the higher education institution, thus culminating in the formation of a full professional and capable of providing a treatment of excellence.

Dengue virus (DENV) is a danger to more than 400 million people in the world, and there is no specific treatment. Thus, there is an urgent need to develop an effective method to combat this pathology. NS2B/NS3 protease is an important biological target due it being necessary for viral replication and the fact that it promotes the spread of the infection. Thus, this study aimed to design DENV NS2B/NS3pro allosteric inhibitors from a matrix compound. The search was conducted using the Swiss Similarity tool. The compounds were subjected to molecular docking calculations, molecular dynamics simulations (MD) and free energy calculations. The molecular docking results showed that two compounds, ZINC000001680989 and ZINC000001679427, were promising and performed important hydrogen interactions with the Asn152, Leu149 and Ala164 residues, showing the same interactions obtained in the literature. In the MD, the results indicated that five residues, Lys74, Leu76, Asn152, Leu149 and Ala166, contribute to the stability of the ligand at the allosteric site for all of the simulated systems. Hydrophobic, electrostatic and van der Waals interactions had significant effects on binding affinity. Physicochemical properties, lipophilicity, water solubility, pharmacokinetics, druglikeness and medicinal chemistry were evaluated for four compounds that were more promising, showed negative indices for the potential penetration of the Blood Brain Barrier and expressed high human intestinal absorption, indicating a low risk of central nervous system depression or drowsiness as the the side effects. The compound ZINC000006694490 exhibited an alert with a plausible level of toxicity for the purine base chemical moiety, indicating hepatotoxicity and chromosome damage in vivo in mouse, rat and human organisms. All of the compounds selected in this study showed a synthetic accessibility (SA) score lower than 4, suggesting the ease of new syntheses. The results corroborate with other studies in the literature, and the computational approach used here can contribute to the discovery of new and potent anti-dengue agents.

As plantas medicinais são empregadas no tratamento e na cura de enfermidades de forma tão antiga quanta a espécie humana. Devido às observações populares sobre o uso e a eficácia de plantas medicinais, se passou a conhecer seus efeitos benéficos sem ao menos saber suas propriedades, constituições e composição química. Na Amazônia muitas espécies vegetais são usadas para combater diversos males, como é o caso do urucuzeiro (Bixa orellanaL.), espécie natural desta região do Brasil, onde é empregado como chás de suas folhas para o tratamento de hepatites, distúrbios pulmonares, afecções estomacais e diversos outros males. Neste trabalho foram determinados, via ICP OES, os teores de Al, Ca, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni e Zn em chás de folhas de urucuzeiro (Bixa orellanaL.), provenientes da Embrapa Amazônia Oriental e de dois municípios do nordeste do Pará (São Miguel do Guamá e Vigia). Nutrient enrichment and eutrophication are among the main problems that lead to the deterioration of water quality in lakes and reservoirs. In this study, spatial and temporal variations in the concentrations of organic and inorganic species of nitrogen and phosphorus in the water column of Lake Paranoá-DF (Brazil) were evaluated between 2016 and 2017. Seasonality was the main factor in the variations in concentrations of the investigated parameters. Additionally, we found differences in behavior for different nutrients and other variables that indicate different main sources of each nutrient as well as different biogeochemical processes predominating in each season. For example, the electrical conductivity (EC), dissolved silicon, PO43−, and NO3− showed mean concentrations significantly higher in the rainy season, indicating greater inputs in these periods (which is in part related to increasing soil leaching and runoff). Agricultural activities were the main source of NO3− and wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) proved to be the main source of nutrients, mainly NH4+ and all forms of phosphorus. These two allochthonous sources are also the determining factors of the trophic state and the degradation of the water quality of Lake Paranoá. The lake is in the transition process from a mesotrophic to a eutrophic condition.

Os escorregamentos de encostas constituem um dos principais fenômenos causadores de desastres naturais nas cidades brasileiras, provocando, todos os anos, inúmeros prejuízos materiais e fazendo um grande número de vítimas fatais. Neste contexto, este trabalho propõe a aplicação de técnicas de aprendizado de máquina na predição de escorregamentos de encostas, de forma individualizada, no tempo e no espaço, a partir de dados provenientes de múltiplas fontes. Para isso, foi realizada a integração dos dados e foram avaliados vários algoritmos preditivos acerca da ocorrência ou não de escorregamentos de encostas. Os resultados dos experimentos mostraram que os algoritmos foram capazes de alcançar desempenho promissor.

The technique of laparoscopic oocyte aspiration has been increasingly used in animals; however, there are few records of its use in buffaloes. To describe this technique, six suckling Murrah buffaloes aged between 3 and 5 months were used. Three laparoscopic ovum pick-ups were performed in each animal, with intervals of 15 days between surgeries, completing a total of 18 procedures. The technique used three surgical ports with optics and a high-definition video camera. The introduction of the first portal and insufflation of the abdomen was performed through the open technique, with aspiration using a 20 G needle transabdominally and a vacuum pump calibrated at 50 mmHg. The mean complete surgical time from anesthesia to the removal of the animal from the litter was 49 ± 9.8 min. There were 27.8% cases of insufflation on the wrong side of the omentum. The oocyte recovery rate of 60.3% remained within the normal range. However, the rate of viable oocytes recovered was low, with only 40.8% of those recovered undergoing in vitro embryo production (IVEP). These data demonstrate that this simple, minimally invasive technique is an excellent reproductive tool for the genetic improvement of buffalo species.
