Bogidarmanti R, Darwo. 2016. The effect of variation weaning media on growth and quality of Alnus nepalensis seeds weaning. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 2: 263-266. Alnus (Alnus nepalensis DON) is one kind of exotic plant from India and has been developed in Indonesia, especially in West Java. Usefulness of Alnus wood among others can be used as an ingredient in tea boxes, buffer /pier, matches, and paper. Reproduction of this species is generally done in generative from seed, but to support the continuation of seedlings for rehabilitation activities can also be used its wildlings. The purpose of this study was to determine the suitable type of weaning media for supporting Alnus wildlings growth. The media type of weaning used three kinds of pure soil, pure compost and mixture of soil and compost [1: 1 (v / v)]. The study design used a completely randomized design with each unit number 50 wildlings and repeat 3 times. Parameters measured were percent of growth survival, height, diameter, biomass and seed quality index. The results showed that use of a variation of media types very significantly affect on height, diameter, biomass and seed quality index of Alnus wildlings, but did not significantly affect to the percent of growth survival. The best seedlings quality index (1,50) can be obtained by using of weaning media mixture of soil and compost [1: 1 (v/v)]. Nutrient availability in the weaning media mixture of soil and compost is relatively higher than the other weaning media.

Keberhasilan pembangunan hutan tanaman berkaitan erat dengan pengadaan benih bermutu. Salah satu parameter yang memiliki korelasi terhadap mutu benih adalah ukuran benih. Ukuran benih jenis-jenis pohon tertentu berkorelasi dengan viabilitas dan vigor benih, dimana benih yang berat cenderung mempunyai vigor yang lebih baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh seleksi benih terhadap perkecambahan benih dan pertumbuhan bibit weru. Benih diseleksi dengan alat seed gravity table dan saringan berukuran mesh. Benih dilakukakan seleksi, kemudian di uji kadar air, berat 1.000 butir, perkecambahan dan pertumbuhan bibitnya. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Rancangan Faktorial yaitu faktor pertama asal benih dan faktor kedua ukuran benih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan seleksi benih weru dapat menggunakan alat seed gravity table dengan memilih ukuran benih K2 (kelompok benih 2) dan alat saring berukuran mesh dengan ukuran diameter lebih dari 4,7 mm. Benih weru asal Sumedang menunjukkan mutu benih dan tingkat pertumbuhan bibit yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan benih weru asal Carita dan Majalengka.

Excessive exploitation without cultivation caused harvest of masoyi (Cryptocarya Massoy (Oken) Kosterm) from forest to be more difficult. Cultivation outside of natural habitat becomes important to ensure sustainable masoyi oil production. This research presents information on the prospects for cultivation and growth rates of masoyi plants outside natural habitats. The research method used a plot design conducted at three locations, namely (1) Haurbentes Research Forest, Bogor Regency, West Java Province; (2) Boalemo Protection Forest Management Unit (PFMU), Gorontalo Province; and (3) community land in East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The results showed that the soil characteristics in the Haurbentes Research Forest were more suitable for masoyi plant growth. This is because the Haurbentes area has a texture of clay dust, climate classification tipe A. However, the characteristics of growing areas in Boalemo and East Lombok showed that masoyi plants were still able to grow. Thus, masoyi plants have the potential to be cultivated outside their natural habitat.

Keragaman kualitas tempat tumbuh di hutan tanaman eukaliptus telah menimbulkan produksi kayu yang berfluktuasi. Untuk itu, perlu dilakukan pengelompokan kualitas tempat tumbuh. Tujuan penelitian adalah menentukan daur volume maksimum, model indeks tempat tumbuh, kelas kualitas tempat tumbuh, dan tingkat pertumbuhan dan hasil tegakan untuk masing-masing kelas kualitas tempat tumbuh hutan tanaman eukaliptus. Data dihimpun dari 343 petak contoh permanen. Bentuk plot lingkaran dengan berjari-jari 11,28 m (luas 0,02 ha). Karakteristik tegakan dianalisis menggunakan regresi yang ditransformsikan ke logaritmik dan dilakukan pengelompokan kualitas tempat tumbuh. Hasil analisis diperoleh daur volume maksimum adalah 8 (delapan) tahun, sehingga umur indeks tempat tumbuh 8 (delapan) tahun dengan rata-rata volume tegakan 249,34 m3/ha dan riap tahunan rata-rata 31,17 m3/ha/tahun. Model indeks tempat tumbuh (S) adalah log S = log Oh + 0,69441(A-1 – 8-1), dimana; Oh = peninggi (m), A = umur tegakan (tahun), dan 8 = umur indeks tempat tumbuh 8 (delapan) tahun. Indeks tempat tumbuh tersebut dikelompokan menjadi 4 (empat) kelas kualitas tempat tumbuh (bonita). Riap tahunan rata-rata di bonita I, II, III, dan IV berturut-turut adalah 20,95 m3/ha/tahun, 32,40 m3/ha/tahun, 37,15 m3/ha/tahun, dan 40,25 m3/ha/tahun. Rata-rata volume tegakan di bonita I, II, III, IV berturut-turut adalah 167,58 m3/ha, 259,17 m3/ha. 297,17 m3/ha, dan 321,98 m3/ha.

Cendawan ektomikoriza umumnya bersimbiosis dengan tumbuhan tertentu. Dari satu jenis tumbuhan inang dimungkinkan adanya beberapa jenis cendawan ektomikoriza yang menjadi simbionnya atau dari satu jenis cendawan ektomikoriza dapat bersimbiosis dengan beberapa jenis tumbuhan inang. Pada kondisi ekologis suatu daerah yang berbeda dapat ditemukan jenis cendawan ektomikoriza yang berbeda. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Sipirok (Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan), Tongkoh (Kabupaten Tanah Karo), dan Aek Nauli (Kabupaten Simalungun). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman cendawan ektomikoriza lokal di kawasan hutan Sipirok, Tongkoh, dan Aek Nauli yang dapat dikembangkan untuk peningkatan kualitas semai dan pertumbuhan tanaman di lapangan guna menunjang keberhasilan rehabilitasi lahan kritis. Telah ditemukan 16 jenis cendawan ektomikoriza, yaitu 3 jenis di Sipirok ( Bo letus sp.(1), Suillus sp.(1), dan Inocybea sp.) di bawah tegakan tusam; 5 jenis di Tongkoh ( Ru ssula sp.(1), Russula sp.(2), Russula sp.(3), Russula sp.(4), dan Lactarius sp.(1) di bawah tegakan tusam; dan 9 jenis di Aek Nauli (Scleroderma citrinum, Suillus sp . (2) , Russula sp.(1) , Russula sp . (5) , Russula sp.(6), Lactarius sp.(2) , Russula sp.(7) , Russula sp.(8), Boletus sp.(2), dan Boletus sp.(3) di bawah tegakan tusam. Jenis ektomikoriza lokal yang ditemukan ini sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan dalam pembibitan tanaman yang sesuai dengan tanaman inangnya. Kawasan yang memiliki potensi mikorizanya banyak, sebaiknya dilindungi sebagai sumber plasma nutfah ektomikoriza.

A B S T RAK Untuk merehabilitasi lahan kritis diperlukan bibit yang berkualitas. Salah satu caranya melalui penyediaan bibit bermikoriza. Tusam ( P inus merkusii Jungh. Et de Vriese ) merupakan salah satu jenis yang dapat bersimbiosis dengan cendawan ektomikoriza. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh dosis serbuk spora Scleroderma citrinum Persoon dan komposisi media dalam menginfeksi perakaran dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan tusam di persemaian. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap pola faktorial. Faktor dosis serbuk spora terdiri atas 0; 0,1; 0,2; dan 0,3 gram, sedangkan faktor media terdiri dari subsoil, subsoil : pasir (7:3), dan subsoil : kompos (7:3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis 0,1 gram serbuk spora dengan media tanam subsoil dan subsoil : pasir (7:3) telah mampu menginfeksi perakaran bibit tusam yang sangat nyata, dan pengaruhnya sangat nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tinggi, diameter, berat kering total, dan rasio akar-pucuk bibit tusam sampai umur tujuh bulan, tetapi media subsoil : kompos (7:3) yang diberi serbuk spora 0,1; 0,2; maupun 0,3 gram tidak menginfeksi perakaran tusam. Komposisi media subsoil : pasir (7:3) dengan dosis 0,2 gram serbuk spora menghasilkan persen infeksi tertinggi yaitu 77,6%.

Critical land rehabilitation efforts in the forests areas are important activities to be undertaken. Dipterocarpaceae is a potential species to be developed in the restoration of degraded forest areas, one of which is Kapur Tanduk (Dryobalanops lanceolata Burck.). This study aims to determine the influence of canopy opening factor, dose of manure, and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, slope, and soil conditions) to the growth of D. lanceolata in research plots (KHDTK Haurbentes, West Java). The results showed that the different levels of canopy opening (71.34%, 37.91%) and the dose of manure (0, 2, 4 kg / planting hole) have no significant effect either single or interaction both to the increase in diameter and height of D. lanceolata. The Different levels of canopy opening in both areas resulted that different responses in the early days of growth, the degree of opening of 71.24% (open area) had a good response to the diameter growth while at the level of opening of 37.91% (under the shade) had high growth rate of plants. Thus, until the age of 6 months D. lanceolata has a good adaptability to the degree of canopy opening in between 37-72%. The environmental conditions in the research plots in KHDTK Haurbentes are suitable with the characteristics of the growing species so it can support the growth of D. lanceolata.

Currently the type of wood in community forests on Java Island is dominated by sengon species. However, this type faces problems with attacks of gall rust diseases One of the potential species as a substitute for light construction wood is binuang bini (Octomeles sumatrana Miq.). To increase stand productivity, it is necessary to apply the right silvicultural techniques. The purpose of this study was to find out the right silvicultural technique in order to increase the productivity of the binuang bini stands. The study design used a split plot design. The results showed that the organic fertilizer dose had a significant effect on the growth of the diameter and height of binuang bini stands. Fertilizing used bioactive compost charcoal with a dosage of 4 kg / planting hole can increase the growth in height and diameter of binuang bini plants was twice that of control treatment at the age of 30 months after planting. The pattern of binuang bini planting can be mixed with the other species such as Mindi (Melia azedarach L.) and/or Trema (Trema orientalis L.)

Aktivitas reklarnasi pada lahan pasca penambangan batu garnpmg seperti di PT. Semen Cibinong, Cileungsi. Kabupaten Bogor sebagai bahan baku semen menunjukkan hasil yang tidak baik, hal ini, dikarenakan kurang rnemperhatikan karakteristik bekas penambangan, teknik revegetasi, dan penggunaan mikroorganisme tanah Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang respon pertumbuhan Kha y a anth o tc ca Dx. yang diinokulasi cendawan Gl om us agg r egatu m Schenk & Smith terhadap pemberian pupuk kompos dan asam humat pada lahan bekas penambangan batu gamping serta tingkat infeksi cendawan endomikoriza pada tanaman tersebut, Rancangan penelitian menggunakan faktorial dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kandungan unsur hara (P, K, dan Mg), kapasitas tukar kation, dan kejenuhan basa ada dalam jumlah yang cukup untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tanaman, tetapi yang menjadi faktor pembatas adalah reaksi tanah agak alkalis dengan nilai tukar kation Ca sangat tinggi dan kadar salinitas tinggi serta kandungan C-organik dan nitrogen sangat rendah. Dengan pernberian pupuk kompos 2 kg dan atau 500 ml asam humat 1.500 ppm belum cukup memenuhi kebutuhan hara tanaman (kadar C-organik dan nitrogen masih termasuk rendah) dan ditunjukkan tanaman kekurangan nitrogen. Pertumbuhan tanaman yang terbaik, jika bibit telah diinokulasi cendawan Glom u s aggregat u m Schenk & Smith yang ditanam pada lahan yang diberi 5 00 ml asam humat 1.500 ppm. Asam humat mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan. daya hidup, dan persen infeksi akar bermikonza yang lebih baik, lntroduks, cendawan Glo m u s aggr e g a tum Schenk & Smith berkorelasi positif dengan asam humat dan keberadaan cendawan endomikonza dan asam humat bersifat smergis terhadap pertumbuhan Kha y a a nth oteca Dx.

Shorea assamica Dyer is one of the forest trees with recalcitrant seed type, It can not be stored for long periods. Storage technique of planting material in the form of seedlings is one solution that can be done to overcome the problems of the seeds with a short shelf life. The aim of the research is to determine the growth response of S. assamica seedlings toshading andgrowth inhibitor treatments. Research design was approached by split plot design. The main plot was shade and sub-plot was a growth inhibitor. The storage conditions consisted of (1) light (38,600-47,200 lux), (2) medium (19,342-35,300 lux) and (3) heavy shading (62-2,106 lux). The inhibitors used were (1) paclobutrazol 250 ppm, (2) NaCl 0.5% and (3) aquadest (as a control). The results showed that the combined treatment of paclubutrazol 250 ppm with heavy shade was able to suppress the growth of height, dry weight of root and seedling quality index of S. assamica at the age of 6 months optimally in nursery.
