The accurate prediction of mine water inflow is very important for mine design and safe production. The existing forecasting methods based on single factors are often less accurate and stable. Multi-factor data-driven models play a key role in predicting water inflow without taking physical changes into account. Therefore, a multi-factor prediction method based on an improved SSA-RG-MHA model is introduced in this study. The model uses two sets of data related to water inflow as the input to improve prediction accuracy and stability. The model first applies a residual network (ResNet) to mitigate the problems of disappearing gradients and explosions. Gated Recurrent Units (GRUs) are then used to learn the characteristics of long-term sequence data. The model combines ResNet and GRU into a new network architecture and incorporates a multiple attention (MHA) mechanism to focus on information at different time scales. Finally, the optimized sparrow search algorithm (SSA) is used to optimize the network parameters to improve the global search ability and avoid local optimization. The mine water inflow is affected by many factors, among which the water level and microseismic energy data are particularly important. Therefore, these data types are selected as the key variables of mine water inflow prediction. The experimental results show that the improved SSA-RG-MHA model significantly reduces the prediction error: the mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE), and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) were reduced to 4.42 m3/h, 7.17 m3/h, and 5%, respectively. The multi-factor water inflow prediction method is more stable and reliable than single-factor models as it comprehensively considers the factors affecting the water inflow of the working face. Compared with other multi-factor models, this model exhibits higher prediction accuracy and robustness, providing a basis for mine water hazard monitoring and early warning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The determinants of persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection remain largely unknown, and existing studies have predominantly focused on the female population. Individual genetic background may influence the persistence of HPV infection, we the evidence overall and among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)‐positive males are very limited. We conducted a genome‐wide association study (GWAS) to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with anal HPV persistence, based on a cohort designed to study the natural history of anal HPV infection among HIV‐positive males in Taizhou, China from 2016 to 2022. A total of 322 HIV‐positive males with anal HPV infection, with a mean age of 43.0 (standard deviation [SD]: 13.8) years, were included in this GWAS. The median follow‐up time was 1.8 (interquartile range [IQR]: 1.5–2.0) years. The persistence of any type of HPV infection was 53.4%. After adjusting for age and sexual orientation, there were 2 SNPs with p < 1 × 10−5 and 24 SNPs with p < 1 × 10−4. The most closely associated with HPV persistence in additive models were rs7359031 (LOC105370461, odds ratio [OR]T/C = 0.36, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.24–0.56; p = 6.67 × 10−6) located at 14q21.1, and rs11046048 (PYROXD1, ORC/A = 0.41, 95% CI: 0.28–0.60; p = 7.80 × 10−6) located at 12p12.1. Other SNPs were mainly located at 6q23.3 (HBS1L‐MYB) and 6p21.33 (CCHCR1, PSORS1C3). LOC105370461, PYROXD1, HBS1L‐MYB, CCHCR1, and PSORS1C3 may be susceptible genes for HPV persistence. Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) and Erdheim–Chester disease (ECD) are exceptionally rare disorders characterized by varied clinical presentations, posing several challenges for clinicians. The concomitant occurrence of LCH and ECD is exceedingly rare and has no known etiology. In this report, we present a rare case of mixed histiocytosis (both ECD and LCH) with multisystem involvement. The patient, a 49-year-old female, initially presented with a rash 2 years ago and progressively developed exophthalmos, fatigue, and shortness of breath. She lacked the mutation in codon 600 of exon 15 of B-Raf proto-oncogene (BRAF-V600E) and subsequently underwent treatment with corticosteroids, interferon-alpha, and chemotherapy, all of which proved ineffective. This work highlights the urgent need to improve treatment outcomes for such patients. The study examines beginning teachers' and pre-service teachers' motivation to teach in China. Data are drawn from questionnaires completed by 107 beginning teachers (full-time teachers with fewer than six years' working experience) and 122 pre-service teachers, and semi-structured interviews with 19 of them. The respondents all emphasised social influences, personal utility value, and social utility value, and all viewed the teaching profession as a career high in demands but low in returns. However, pre-service teachers showed higher motivation than beginning teachers, except for items regarding intrinsic value, fall-back careers, and teaching ability. This study suggests a 'culture-motivation' framework for understanding teachers' motivation in China.

There is an urgent need for effective disease-modifying therapeutic interventions for Alzheimer's disease (AD)—the most prevalent cause of dementia with a profound socioeconomic burden. Most clinical trials targeting the classical hallmarks of this disease—β-amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles—failed, showed discrete clinical effects, or were accompanied by concerning side effects. There has been an ongoing search for novel therapeutic targets. Neuroinflammation, now widely recognized as a hallmark of all neurodegenerative diseases, has been proven to be a major contributor to AD pathology. Here, we summarize the role of neuroinflammation in the pathogenesis and progression of AD and discuss potential targets such as microglia, TREM2, the complement system, inflammasomes, and cytosolic DNA sensors. We also present an overview of ongoing studies targeting specific innate immune system components, highlighting the progress in this field of drug research while bringing attention to the delicate nature of innate immune modulations in AD. We examined the association between adolescent sexual debut and age at new-type drug initiation among a sample of young adult new-type drug users. A total of 276 participants were recruited using respondent-driven sampling (RDS) in Shanghai, China. The analyses were restricted to a total of 201 participants aged between 18 and 30 years. The average age at sexual debut and age at first new-type drug use were 18.8 and 20.9 years, respectively. About 94% of participants reported having sexual experience (n=188); of those, 137 (72.9%) had sexual debut before they first used new-type drugs, while 32 (17.0%) initiated both events at the same age. After adjustment for age, income, education, and sexual orientation, adolescent sexual debut was independently associated with younger age at new-type drug initiation. Adolescent sexual debut is associated with early onset of new-type drug use. Our findings underscore the importance of implementing sex-education programs for adolescents in schools in China.
