Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES A estratégia projetual de aberturas sombreadas não é suficiente para que usuários de escritórios climatizados em baixa latitude, como Natal – RN (Latitude -5,8; longitude -35,3), mantenham as cortinas e persianas abertas para fazer uso da iluminação natural, conexão com o exterior, qualidade ambiental e eventual uso da ventilação natural. Esse problema foi investigado nessa tese com o objetivo de caracterizar as causas do fechamento dos sistemas de sombreamento internos. Inicialmente, foi selecionada uma amostra de 102 usuários de 57 salas de quatro edificações projetadas com aberturas sombreadas. A percepção e o comportamento dos usuários quanto ao uso da luz natural, acionamento dos sistemas de sombreamento e luz artificial foram avaliados por meio da aplicação de questionários, preenchimento de fichas e registro fotográfico durante avaliação do tipo auditoria. Em seguida, 11 usuários de nove salas, compostas por aqueles que demonstraram interação com os sistemas de sombreamento interno, foram analisados quanto ao ofuscamento. Foram aplicados questionários conduzidos, registros em fichas e fotos, e medições para caracterizar usuários e ambientes, nas condições que motivaram o acionamento (com sistemas de sombreamento abertos) e nas condições resultantes (com sistemas de sombreamento fechados parcialmente e totalmente). Foram realizadas medidas de iluminância e luminância, aferição dos índices de avaliação de ofuscamento com a opinião do usuário, como probabilidade de ofuscamento em luz natural (DGP), índice de ofuscamento em luz natural (DGI) e razão de luminância, obtidos por meio de imagens HDR, e tratamento de imagens nos programas Photosphere (WARD, 2019b), HDR Scope (KUMARAGURUBARAN ,INANICI, 2012), Glare Analysis (WIENOLD, 2018), e Wxfalsecolor (BLEICHER, 2015). Os resultados evidenciaram o excesso de brilho externo como o principal obstáculo ao uso da luz natural e à vista do exterior, devido ao desconforto luminoso. De fato, a maioria dos usuários fecham os sistemas de sombreamento interno porque o sombreamento externo não é suficiente para reduzir o brilho de céu no campo visual do usuário, reflexo no monitor, brilho refletido no entorno e brilho e/ou calor devido à entrada de luz natura direta. External window shading is not enough for the occupants of air-conditioned office buildings to maintain the curtains and blinders opened, to enjoy daylighting, exterior view, environment comfort, and natural ventilation eventually, at low latitudes, such as Natal-RN (latitude -5.8; longitude -35.3). The current thesis assessed this problem to characterize the causes of the window's obstruction with internal devices. Firstly, a sample was selected, with 102 occupants distributed in 57 office rooms of four buildings designed with external window shading. The occupants' perception and behavior concerning the daylight, internal shading devices, and artificial light were assessed using questionnaires, notes, and photos during field auditory. Secondly, glare assessment was refined with 11 occupants of nine office rooms that interact with the internal shading device daily. A conducted questionnaire, notes in forms and photos, and measurements characterized the light performance that led to close the internal shading devices, including intermediary positions, and after closed. The illuminance and luminance measures and the glare indexes such as daylight glare probability (DGP), daylight glare index (DGI), and luminance ratios in three fields of vision (30°, 60°, and 90°) were compared with the occupants' opinions. The indexes were calculated through HDR images, generated, and calibrated through Photosphere software (WARD, 2019b), resized through HDR scope (KUMARAGURUBARAN ,INANICI, 2012), Glare Analysis (WIENOLD, 2018), and Wxfalse color (BLEICHER, 2015). The results demonstrated the excess of brightness as the main obstacle to the daylight use and exterior view due to the lighting discomfort. Indeed, most occupants close the internal shading devices because the external shading is not enough to reduce the sky brightness in the occupants' field of view, the computer screen brightness reflection, the reflect brightness by surroundings, and brightness and/or heat due to the direct daylight.

Isso mostra a importância de investir em legislações e técnicas que visem à eficiência energética nas edificações. A realização do retrofit é complexa em muitos casos, principalmente nas edificações históricas, uma vez que as legislações de preservação do patrimônio histórico restringem as possibilidades de modificações na envoltória. Devido a essa dificuldade, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as possibilidades do retrofit energético em um edifício histórico com nível 1 de tombamento, sob a ótica do patrimônio histórico, eficiência energética e viabilidade econômica, no contexto climático do sul do Brasil (zona bioclimática 2). Essa pesquisa pode ser classificada como um estudo de caso do Casarão 2, utilizando técnicas qualitativas e quantitativas para definição da qualidade do retrofit energético. Na parte quantitativa, foi utilizada a simulação computacional para averiguar a eficiência energética do modelo real e modificados, sob a ótica da INI-C e EnerPHit Standard. Nessa parte, também foi realizado orçamento e o payback simples de cada retrofit, para averiguar a viabilidade dos modelos. Na parte qualitativa, avaliou-se o impacto de cada modificação dos retrofits na envoltória do Casarão 2. O modelo real obteve 67% das horas ocupadas em conforto térmico para 80% de aceitabilidade do conforto adaptativo da ASHRAE 55 (2010). Mesmo utilizando estratégias passivas para otimizar a edificação, não foi possível atingir 90% de horas em conforto térmico, exigidas pela INI-C para a edificação totalmente ventilada naturalmente, sendo necessário implementar um sistema de climatização híbrida. Com esse sistema, o Casarão 2 passou a ter nível “B”. De todos os modelos, o Modelo 45 – PTHP e 5cm de lã-de-vidro – aproximou-se de ser viável numa edificação histórica. Esse modelo atingiu o nível A da INI-C, os critérios mínimos da EnerPHit Standard. Suas modificações não provocam impactos visuais na fachada da edificação e pode ser considerado economicamente viável, dependendo dos limites de vida útil adotados pela NBR 15575 (2013) para sistemas de condicionamento de ar. Os resultados dessa pesquisa mostraram a complexa relação entre melhorar a eficiência energética de uma edificação histórica e manter suas características de relevância histórica. Todo retrofit alterou em algum nível a envoltória da edificação histórica. O importante nas edificações tombadas no nível 1 é essa alteração não causar impactos visuais ou causar perda de material histórico na envoltória. Apesar de ser difícil que o retrofit em uma edificação histórica encontre um equilíbrio entre eficiência energética, preservação do patrimônio histórico e viabilidade econômico, isso não é impossível. O Modelo 45 mostrou essa possibilidade, sendo necessários mais estudos sobre esse tema para se chegar a um veredito mais sólido. Buildings were responsible for 50.5% of total electricity consumption in Brazil and the trend is for this consumption to increase over the years. This shows the importance of investing in legislation and techniques aimed at energy efficiency in buildings. The performance of retrofits is complex in many cases, especially in historic buildings, since the legislation for the preservation of historical heritage restricts the possibilities of changes in the envelope. Due to this difficulty, the present work aims to analyze the possibilities of energy retrofit in a historic building with level 1 listed, from the perspective of historical heritage, energy efficiency and economic viability, in the climatic context of southern Brazil (bioclimatic zone 2). This research can be classified as a case study of Casarão 2, using qualitative and quantitative techniques to define the quality of the energy retrofit. In the quantitative part, computer simulation was used to ascertain the energy efficiency of the real and modified model, from the perspective of INI-C and EnerPHit Standard. In this part, a budget and a simple payback for each retrofit were also made, to ascertain the viability of the models. In the qualitative part, the impact of each modification of the retrofits on the Casarão 2 envelope was evaluated. The real model obtained 67% of the hours occupied in thermal comfort to 80% of acceptability of the adaptive comfort of ASHRAE 55 (2010). Even using passive strategies to optimize the building, it was not possible to reach 90% of hours in thermal comfort, required by INI-C for the building to be fully ventilated naturally, being necessary to implement a hybrid climate system. With this system, Casarão 2 now has level “B”. Of all the models, the Model 45 - PTHP and 5cm of glass wool - came close to being viable in a historic building. This model reached level A of INI-C, the minimum criteria of EnerPHit Standard. Its modifications do not cause visual impacts on the building's facade and can be considered economically viable, depending on the useful life limits adopted by NBR 15575 (2013) for air conditioning systems. The results of this research showed the complex relationship between improving the energy efficiency of a historic building and maintaining its characteristics of historical relevance. Every retrofit changed the envelope of the historic building to some degree. The important thing in buildings listed on level 1 is that this change does not cause visual impacts or cause loss of historical material in the envelope. Although it is difficult for retrofit in a historic building to find a balance between energy efficiency, preservation of historic heritage and economic viability, this is not impossible. Model 45 showed this possibility, and further studies on this topic are needed to reach a more solid verdict.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES Numerous buildings have high rates of waste of electricity, as well as opportunities to save energy by not considering bioclimatic, passive and / or active strategies. In commercial buildings, daylight plays a major role because it is abundantly available during the occupation hours of these buildings. However, artificial lighting is responsible for a large portion of the energy consumption, mainly because these buildings do not make the integrated use of both forms of lighting. The use of daylight, in addition to providing appropriate illuminance levels for the performance of human activities, also reduces the need for the use of artificial light, which can be efficiently controlled by lighting systems, correct sizing of openings and use of shading devices, thus interfering with the building's thermal gains and total energy consumption. This work aims to evaluate the thermal performance of a commercial room, located at the Bioclimatic Zone 2, within the influence of the integrated use of natural and artificial light with air conditioning, with different types of glass and opening shading devices. The methodology was based on the evaluation and comparison of the luminous and energetic performance of models with different variables, through computational simulation in the DesignBuilder. The results showed that glasses with VLT of 0.13 and 0.52 show a reduction in the levels of UDI with the use of shading, whereas glasses with a higher VLT show an increase in the levels of UDI with the use of brises. In addition, it was possible to identify the impact of using daylighting on total energy consumption, through integrated simulations, about 79% savings by artificial lighting. Another result was the use of shading devices, which allowed a reduction of up to 88.45% in energy consumption by air conditioning. The use of artificial lighting system control through sensors provided a reduction in energy consumption with artificial lighting as well as influencing the thermal behavior of the air conditioner. This work allowed the incentive for the inclusion of strategies to reduce consumption and improve the energy efficiency of buildings. Nas edificações comerciais, a luz natural possui grande importância por estar abundantemente disponível durante os horários de ocupação desses edifícios. Todavia, a iluminação artificial dos ambientes é responsável por grande parte do consumo energético, principalmente por essas edificações não fazerem o uso integrado de ambas formas de iluminação. O uso da luz natural, além de proporcionar níveis apropriados para a realização das atividades humanas, reduz a necessidade do uso da luz artificial, que pode ser controlada de forma eficiente por meio de sistemas de iluminação, dimensionamento correto de aberturas e uso de dispositivos de sombreamento, interferindo também, nos ganhos térmicos da edificação e no consumo total de energia. Este trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar o desempenho térmico de uma sala comercial, localizada na zona bioclimática 2, a partir da influência da utilização integrada de luz natural e artificial com condicionamento de ar, com diferentes tipologias de vidros e dispositivos de sombreamento de aberturas. A metodologia foi baseada na avaliação e comparação do desempenho lumínico e energético de modelos com diferentes variáveis, por meio da simulação computacional no programa DesignBuilder. Os resultados mostraram que vidros com Transmissão de Luz Visível (TV) de 0,13 e 0,52 apresentam redução dos níveis de iluminância úteis (UDI) com a utilização de sombreamento, já vidros com TV mais elevado apresentam aumento dos níveis de UDI com a utilização de brises. Além disso, foi possível identificar o impacto do aproveitamento da iluminação natural no consumo energético total, por meio das simulações integradas, cerca de 79% de economia por iluminação artificial. Um outro resultado foi a utilização dos dispositivos de sombreamento, que possibilitaram a diminuição de até 88,45% no consumo de energia por ar condicionado. O uso do controle do sistema de iluminação artificial por meio de sensores proporcionou uma redução no consumo de energia com iluminação artificial além de influenciar o comportamento térmico do ar condicionado. Este trabalho possibilita o incentivo para a inclusão de estratégias de redução de consumo e melhoria da eficiência energética de edificações.

No Brasil, mais da metade da eletricidade é usada dessa maneira. Para preservar os recursos naturais é imprescindível que o consumo de energia gerada por fontes não renováveis seja reduzido ao estritamente necessário, sem desperdícios. Isso pode ser obtido por ações de uso eficiente da energia ou por sua geração, através de fontes renováveis, preferencialmente no próprio local de consumo. O problema de pesquisa deste trabalho refere-se à busca do ponto de equilíbrio entre essas ações. Como se pode avaliar a melhor relação entre elas? A hipótese explorada nesta pesquisa foi de que uma avaliação energética ao longo de todo o ciclo de vida de um edifício é capaz de responder a esta pergunta, através do balanço entre a melhoria da capacidade de evitar perdas e de produzir energia, conjugada com o aumento da energia incorporada que essas ações acrescentam à edificação. O objetivo da pesquisa foi propor um método avaliativo que possa ser utilizado para a tomada de decisão entre elas, visando à obtenção do ponto de equilíbrio. O método adotado consiste na obtenção de modelos de prédios unifamiliares brasileiros e dos valores de energia incorporada nos materiais e sistemas que os compõem; na simulação do consumo operacional e da produção de energia no local; e na variação de parâmetros a fim de obter-se a melhor relação entre a eficiência e a geração. Para esta, somente a fonte solar fotovoltaica foi considerada. Os modelos escolhidos representam uma casa com características de ineficiência e outra que poderia ser classificada como Passive House (PH). Os resultados mostraram estimativa de consumo operacional de 59,7 kWh/(m2.a) e de energia incorporada de 42 kWh/(m2.a) para o modelo ineficiente (modelo 1) sem geração própria, totalizando 101,7 kWh/(m2.a) no ciclo de vida desse modelo. Enquanto isso, o modelo PH (modelo 2) apresentou 33,6 kWh/(m2.a) no consumo operacional e 55 kWh/(m2.a) na energia incorporada, totalizando 88,6 kWh/(m2.a) no seu ciclo de vida. Ao inserir geração fotovoltaica, ambos modelos tornaram-se edifícios com energia líquida nula, ou seja, net zeroenergy building (NZEB), sem ocupar toda a área disponível para os módulos fotovoltaicos. Mesmo com o incremento de energia incorporada dado pelo melhor isolamento da envoltória e pelo sistema fotovoltaico, a produção de energia por este predominou e reduziu o consumo total no ciclo de vida. Destes resultados depreendeu-se que a abundância de radiação solar incidente no território brasileiro torna possível obter NZEB e até superávit energético em unidades habitacionais unifamiliares no Brasil, mesmo que os princípios bioclimáticos tenham sido negligenciados. Apesar disto, o trabalho concluiu pela necessidade de conjugar a eficiência no uso da energia com a geração própria, de forma a não desperdiçar os recursos naturais, pois outras tipologias de edificações, em outras condições de entorno, podem não ter a mesma sustentabilidade e, por isso, demandarem o uso de energia gerada a partir de fontes não renováveis. The energy demand for use in buildings has one of the largest shares of total energy expenditure worldwide. In Brazil, it represents more than half the total consumption of electricity. In order to conserve natural resources, it is essential to avoid waste thus minimise energy consumption from non-renewable sources. This can be achieved by energy efficiency actions or by its generation through renewable sources, preferably at the own local of consumption. This work’s research problem refers to a search for the balance between these actions. How can one evaluate the best relation between them? The hypothesis explored in this research was that an energy evaluation over the entire life cycle of a building can answer this question by balancing the improvement of the building to avoid energy losses and to produce energy, coupled with the increase in embodied energy that these actions add to the building. The aim of the research was to propose an evaluative method that can be used for decisionmaking among them, targeting the equilibrium point. The adopted method consists in obtaining models of Brazilian single-family buildings and the values of embodied energy of the materials and systems that compose them; simulating operational consumption and onsite energy production; and in the variation of parameters in order to obtain the best relation between efficiency and generation. For this, only the photovoltaic solar source was considered. The models chosen represent a house with inefficient characteristics and another that could be classified as Passive House (PH). The results showed an estimated operational consumption of 59.7 kWh/(m2.a) and embodied energy of 42 kWh/(m2.a) for the inefficient model (model 1) without generation, totalling 101.7 kWh/(m2.a) in the life cycle of this model. Meanwhile, the PH model (model 2) showed 33.6 kWh/(m2.a) in operating consumption and 55 kWh/(m2.a) in embodied energy, totalling 88.6 kWh/(m2.a) in its life cycle. When owning photovoltaic generation, both models became net zero-energy buildings (NZEB), without occupying all the available area for the photovoltaic modules. Even with the increase in the embodied energy given by the better insulation of the envelope and the photovoltaic system, the energy produced by this system predominated and reduced the total consumption in the life cycle. These results show that the abundance of solar radiation incident in the Brazilian territory makes it possible to get NZEB status and even energy surplus in single-family houses in Brazil, even if bioclimatic principles are neglected. In spite of this, this work concluded that there is a need to combine energy efficiency with local generation, to avoid wasting natural resources, because other types of buildings, under different conditions, could not be as sustainable as the studied ones and therefore require the use of energy generated from non-renewable sources.

The buildings destined to the education lack projects that consider the thermal comfort of its users without high consumption of energy. This dissetation analyzes the effectiveness of natural air conditioning strategies to improve the thermal comfort index of a classroom building. They are: cross ventilation, Earth tubes, solar chimneys, brises, light shelf, shading with vegetation, thermal inertia, thermal insulation, trombe wall and glass wall. The building is located in the bioclimatic zone 2, located at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, on the campus of Cachoeira do Sul. The analyzes were performed by means of computer simulation to the EnergyPlus program. The different techniques were simulated in individual and composite alternatives. First the thermal flows and the percentage of thermal comfort of the original design were measured. From this information the effectiveness of the insertion of different natural climatization strategies in the improvement of the thermal comfort conditions of the building under study was tested. The best level of thermal comfort was obtained with the following strategies: shading with vegetation on the east and west facades, white paint on opaque closures (decrease in absortance), increase in thermal inertia, shading with vegetation perpendicular to the north facade, cross ventilation and use of double glazing in classrooms, reaching a percentage of 88.58%. The lower heat discomfort resulted when shadowing vegetation on the east and west facades, white wall (decrease of the absortance), increased thermal inertia, vegetation shading perpendicuar the north facade, use of double glazing in classrooms with the technique of natural ventilation of the Earth tubes (flow 0.4251m³ / s), obtaining an index of 3.97%. It was concluded that the natural air conditioning strategies applied in classrooms in the studied region are effective for increasing the level of comfort thermal and that when added they have better results, justifying their use in projects with similar themes. Os edifícios destinados ao ensino carecem projetos que considerem relevantes o conforto térmico de seus usuários sem um alto consumo de energia. Este trabalho analisa a eficácia de estratégias de climatização natural para melhorar o índice de conforto térmico de um prédio de salas de aula. São elas: ventilação cruzada, dutos enterrados, chaminés solares, brises, estantes de luz, sombreamento com vegetação, inércia térmica, isolamento térmico, parede trombe e parede de vidro. O prédio está situado na zona bioclimática 2, localizado na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, no Campus de Cachoeira do Sul. As análises foram realizadas por meio de simulação computacional com o programa EnergyPlus. As diversas técnicas foram simuladas em alternativas individuais e compostas. Primeiro foram medidos os fluxos térmicos e o percentual de conforto térmico do projeto original. A partir dessas informações foi testada a eficácia da inserção de diferentes estratégias de climatização natural na melhoria das condições do conforto térmico da edificação em estudo. O melhor nível de conforto térmico para foi obtido com as seguintes estratégias reunidas: sombreamento com vegetação nas fachadas leste e oeste, pintura branca nos fechamentos opacos (diminuição da absortância), aumento da inércia térmica, sombreamento com vegetação perpendicular a fachada norte, ventilação cruzada e utilização de vidros duplos nas salas de aula, atingindo um percentual de 88,58%. O menor desconforto por calor resultou quando simulados juntos sombreamento com vegetação nas fachadas leste e oeste, parede branca (diminuição da absortância), aumento da inércia térmica, sombreamento com vegetação perpendicuar a fachada norte, utilização de vidros duplos nas salas de aula com a técnica de ventilação natural dos dutos enterrados (vazão 0,4251m³/s) obtendo um índice de 3,97%. Concluiu-se que as estratégias de climatização natural, aplicadas em prédios de salas de aula na região estudada, são eficazes para o aumento do nível de conforto térmico e que quando somadas elas têm melhores resultados, justificando a sua utilização nos projetos com temática semelhante.

Além de analisar o desempenho termoenergético de uma edificação com atividades características de escritório com vidro eletrocrômico. O estudo foi desenvolvido experimentalmente através de estudo comparativo com os vidros comuns de 3mm e 6mm em vidro eletrocrômico Sage Glass 9mm, com a finalidade de analisar o consumo de energia e conforto térmico provenientes da climatização artificial e da ventilação natural, respectivamente. Para determinação das características óticas em relação à radiação solar da janela eletrocrômica desenvolvida experimentalmente foram utilizados os procedimentos descritos por Pizzutti (2002) com alguns ajustes. O procedimento foi aplicado para o vidro descolorido e para o vidro colorido. Para a simulação computacional foi utilizado o software EnergyPlus, as simulações foram realizadas em duas zonas bioclimáticas, na zona bioclimática 2 (ZB 2) e na zona bioclimática 8 (ZB 8), onde utilizou-se os arquivos climáticos da cidade de Camaquã e da cidade de Manaus, respectivamente. Observou-se que o vidro eletrocrômico estudado experimentalmente, possui valores de transmitância e refletância semelhantes aos vidros eletrocrômicos disponíveis comercialmente. Também foi possível verificar que a edificação com vidro eletrocrômico desenvolvido experimentalmente apresentou melhor nível de conforto térmico nas horas ocupadas, e que o consumo de energia para resfriamento diminui conforme o aumento da coloração principalmente na ZB 8, por se tratar de uma região com clima quente. Notou-se que na ZB 2 em alguns meses do ano o vidro eletrocrômico permanecia totalmente descolorido, já que a temperatura de setpoint era sempre maior que a temperatura externa. This work aims to develop an electrochromic glass and characterize its optical properties. In addition to analyzing the thermoenergetic performance of a building with office activities with electrochromic glass. The study was developed experimentally through a comparative study with the common 3mm and 6mm glass in Sage Glass 9mm electrochromic glass, in order to analyze the energy consumption and thermal comfort from artificial air conditioning and natural ventilation, respectively. In order to determine the optical characteristics in relation to the solar radiation of the experimentally developed electrochromic window. The procedures described by Pizzutti (2002) with some adjustments were used. The procedure was applied for the uncolored glass and for the colored glass. For the computer simulation the EnergyPlus software was used, the simulations were carried out in two bioclimatic zones, in the bioclimatic zone 2 (ZB 2) and in the bioclimatic zone 8 (ZB 8), where the climatic archives of the city of Camaquã and of the city of Manaus, respectively. It was observed that the electrochromic glass studied experimentally, has values of transmittance and reflectance similar to commercially available electrochromic glasses. It was also possible to verify that building with electrochromic glass developed experimentally presented a better level of thermal comfort in the hours occupied, and that the energy consumption for cooling decreases as the color increase, especially in ZB 8, because it is a region with a hot climate. It was observed that in ZB 2 in some months of the year the electrochromic glass remained totally discolored, since the setpoint temperature was always higher than the external temperature.

Dentre estas recomendações, há orientações para que as contratações públicas considerem os aspectos de sustentabilidade e eficiência energética durante a elaboração de projetos de edificações, nas especificações para compras de equipamentos, e na seleção da proposta mais vantajosa dentre os participantes de um certame. Evidencia-se, portanto, uma preocupação da Administração Pública em mitigar o desperdício de energia de prédios públicos governamentais. Mais recentemente, somou-se ao conjunto de legislações a Instrução Normativa 02/2014, do Ministério do Planejamento, Desenvolvimento e Gestão, que determina que os projetos de edificações e de retrofits de edificações públicas federais, com mais de quinhentos metros quadrados de área, devem ser desenvolvidos buscando a Etiqueta Nacional de Conservação de Energia de Projeto nível A, de acordo com a metodologia dos Requisitos Técnicos de Qualidade para o Nível de Eficiência Energética de Edifícios Comerciais, de Serviços e Públicos (RTQ-C). O objetivo geral desta pesquisa, portanto, é verificar o nível de eficiência de prédios de salas de aula licitados por Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior (IFES) atendem à determinação da IN 02/2014 e, em caso negativo, quais intervenções são necessárias para que os projetos atinjam o nível A de eficiência energética. Foram analisados dez prédios licitados por quatro diferentes IFES do Rio Grande do Sul, todos naturalmente ventilados. A metodologia do trabalho compreende as seguintes etapas: revisão de literatura sobre as legislações de obras públicas no Brasil e avaliação de eficiência energética em edificações públicas; obtenção dos editais de licitação através do portal de compras governamentais; caracterização das licitações e dos projetos; verificação do nível de eficiência de cada projeto, analisando o percentual de horas ocupadas em conforto (POC) utilizando a metodologia de simulação do RTQ-C, e analisando o sistema de iluminação pelo método prescritivo utilizando o método das áreas; e o cálculo da bonificação através da economia comprovada no consumo de água. Os resultados demonstram que, embora as licitações analisadas ainda não tivessem solicitado a etiquetagem dos projetos, 60% destes conseguiram alcançar o nível mais alto de eficiência energética, atendendo à Instrução Normativa. O trabalho também avaliou que, nos projetos estudados, quando as condições da envoltória são adequadas, pequenas intervenções como substituição das lâmpadas tubulares fluorescentes por lâmpadas LED equivalentes e bacias sanitárias econômicas são suficientes para que os projetos atinjam o nível A de eficiência. The specific regulations that act on the bidding process of public buildings have several recommendations to the public manager. Among these recommendations, there are orientations for government contracts that must consider sustainability and energy efficiency throughout the drafting of building designs, in the instructions for the purchase of new equipment, and also the choosing of the most profitable offer from a bidder within a bidding. Therefore, it is tangible the concern from the Public Administration in mitigating energy misuse in public government buildings. Recently, the Normative Instruction 02/2014, of the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management, was added to the array of those regulations, which establishes that public government buildings designs and retrofits within more than five hundred square meters, must be drafted having the National Label of Design Energy Conservation grade A as a goal, according to the methodology of the Technical Standards for the Quality of Commercial, Services and Public Buildings (RTQ-C). The main objective of this research is, ergo, to verify if the energy efficiency level in classroom buildings, which were bidden by Federal Institutions of Higher Learning (IFES, in Portuguese), meet the resolutions of the NI 02/2014 and, if not, which modifications are required so the buildings are able to meet the requirements for the grade A label of energy efficiency. Ten different buildings, which were bidden by four different IFES in Rio Grande do Sul, were analyzed, all of them naturally ventilated. The methodology of this study fathoms the following steps: literature review concerning the regulations in public buildings in Brazil and assessment of the energy efficiency in public buildings; procurement of the bidding notices via Portal de Compras Governamentais; characterization of the biddings and the designs; verification of the efficiency grade of each design through analysis of the percentage of occupied hours in thermal comfort (POC) and through the application of the RTQ-C methodology of simulation and analysis of the illumination system via the prescriptive method utilizing the building area method; and the estimation of the bonus granted by the confirmed economy in water expenditure. The results show that, even though the analyzed biddings had not yet requested the design labeling, 60% of them were able to meet the highest grade of energy efficiency, complying with the Normative Instruction. This study also ascertained that given that the envelope conditions are adequate, small modification such as exchanging the current fluorescent light tubes for equivalent LED lights and dual flush toilets are enough for the designs to reach the grade A label in efficiency.

Assim, passa a ser uma necessidade projetar com eficiência energética, buscando fontes alternativas e sustentáveis para que elas possam gerar a sua própria energia. Muitos países já projetam edificações eficientes e com necessidades baixas de consumo, principalmente, através da energia solar fotovoltaica (FV). Esses sistemas podem ser instalados próximos ao ponto de consumo, aliado ao benefício de poderem substituir ou sobrepor a elementos construtivos. Entretanto, esta ainda é considerada uma fonte de alto investimento no Brasil. Porém, considerando que os revestimentos podem representar entre 6 e 20% do custo da edificação e, partindo do princípio que estes podem ser substituídos por módulos FV, é de extrema importância que este custo evitado seja computado no custo final desta tecnologia. Baseado neste contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a viabilidade econômica e o desempenho energético de uma fachada solar fotovoltaica (FSFV), de um edifício comercial, comparada a outras revestidas com materiais usuais da construção civil. A metodologia conta com a simulação do desempenho energético do edifício, para diferentes materiais de revestimento e/ou fechamento vertical, através do software EnergyPlus e com o cálculo da geração de energia FV feito por meio de dados do programa Radiasol. A análise de viabilidade econômica foi feita através do cálculo do Valor Presente Líquido (VPL) e da Taxa Interna de Retorno (TIR). Esta parte da comparação entre sistemas usuais da construção civil com o SFV (sistema fotovoltaico), através dos custos evitados com o revestimento e/ou fechamento vertical e com a energia gerada. Os resultados indicaram que no desempenho energético da edificação, a fachada onde apenas a parte transparente foi substituída, obteve uma redução uniforme entre as variáveis analisadas (consumo total, aquecimento e refrigeração) quando substitui o vidro simples. Entretanto, as outras fachadas onde foram substituídas apenas as partes opacas ou ambas, apresentaram aumento tanto no consumo total quanto na refrigeração, mas redução com aquecimento. Sobre a geração FV, a fachada apenas com módulos semitransparentes, apresentou contribuição FV de, aproximadamente, 15%. Quando, apenas com módulos opacos a contribuição passa a ser de até 41,11%. Porém quando tratamos de uma FSFV, a mesma contribui suprindo 56,66% deste consumo. A geração de energia solar FV só não é maior devido a posição (90°) dos módulos. Embora este não seja o melhor ângulo de inclinação em termos de desempenho do sistema, ainda apresenta geração de energia. Foi possível tambémverificar que a tecnologia FV é viável, e nos melhores cenários, pode substituir apenas a parte transparente (vidros simples) por vidros FV, tendo um tempo de retorno entre 5 e 6 anos. Da mesma maneira pode substituir apenas os revestimentos opacos (ACM – Alumínio Composto Modificado), onde apresenta tempo de retorno entre 8 e 10 anos. Ou substituir um sistema inteiro (ACM+vidro simples) apresentando um tempo de retorno entre 5 e 9 anos. The buildings are big consumers of energy, either through its construction or its use. Thus, it becomes a necessity to design with energy efficiency, searching for alternative and sustainable sources so that they can generate their own energy. Many countries already design efficient buildings with low consumption needs, mainly through photovoltaic (PV) solar energy. These systems can be installed close to the point of consumption, combined with the benefit of being able to replace or overlap constructive elements. However, it is still considered a source of high investment in Brazil. However, considering that the coatings can represent between 6 and 20% of the cost of the building and, assuming that these can be replaced by PV modules, it is extremely important that this avoided cost is computed in the final cost of this technology. Based on this context, the aim of this work is to analyze the economic viability and the energy performance of a solar photovoltaic façade (SPVF), of a commercial building, compared to others lined with usual civil construction materials. The methodology relies on the simulation of the energy performance of the building, for different materials of coating and / or vertical closing, through the EnergyPlus software and the calculation of the generation of PV energy made through data of the program Radiasol.The economic feasibility analysis was done by calculating the Net Present Value (NPV) and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR). This part of the comparison of the usual civil construction systems with the PVS (photovoltaic system), through the costs avoided with the vertical coating and / or closing and with the generated energy. The results indicated that in the energetic performance of the building, the façade where only the transparent part was replaced, obtained a uniform reduction between the analyzed variables (total consumption, heating and cooling) when replacing the single glass. However, the other façades where only the opaque parts were replaced or both, showed increase both in total consumption and in cooling, but reduction with heating. On the PV generation, the facade only with semitransparent modules, presented a PV contribution of approximately 15%. When, with only opaque modules, the contribution becomes up to 41.11%. However, when dealing with a FSFV, it contributes 56.66% of this consumption. PV solar power generation is only not higher due to the position (90 °) of the modules. While this is not the best tilt angle in terms of system performance, it still presents power generation. It was also possible to verify that PV technology is feasible, and in the best scenarios, can replace only the transparent part (single glazing) with PV glass, having a return time between 5 and 6 years. In the same way can only replace the opaque coatings (ACM - Modified Aluminum Composite), where it presents return time between 8 and 10 years. Or replace an entire system (ACM + plain glass) with a return time between 5 and 9 years.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES The passive solar system by isolated heat gain is characterized by collecting and storing solar radiation in thermally isolated spaces, the solar collectors. The heat flow occurs by convection of the air. The main objective of this work is to analyze the feasibility of applying a passive solar system in the Brazilian bioclimatic zone 2. Its methodology was divided in the phases of site selection, prototype construction, equipment installation, data collection, computational simulation of thermal load of heating, analysis of temperature behavior and yield. The prototype was built in the Efficient People's House located at the UFSM Event Center and tests were performed with single glass top and double glass top closures. It was verified that the yield of the solar system as a function of the incident solar radiation with the closing of double glass (50.43%) is higher in 11.38% to the yield of the system with simple glass closure (39.05%). This is due to the tightness acquired with double glazing and its ability to retain heat, reducing thermal exchange with the external environment. It was observed that the solar radiation received is sufficient for the heating and storage of heat in the solar collector, but the transmission of heat by natural convection, also called thermosyphon, is not enough to transmit all the necessary thermal load and leave the environment in the comfort temperature for the winter weather. Finally, in order to print higher system performance and increase ambient temperatures, it is necessary to provide mechanical assistance - such as the use of an exhaust hood - to help the transmission of hot air to the environment and thus achieve thermal comfort . O sistema solar passivo por ganho isolado de calor caracteriza-se por coletar e armazenar a radiação solar em espaços isolados termicamente, os coletores solares. O fluxo de calor acontece por convecção do ar. Este trabalho tem por objetivo principal analisar a viabilidade de aplicação de sistema solar passivo na zona bioclimática 2 brasileira. Sua metodologia foi dividida nas fases de escolha do local, construção do protótipo, instalação de equipamentos, coleta de dados, simulação computacional de carga térmica de calefação, análise de comportamento de temperaturas e rendimento. O protótipo foi construído na Casa Popular Eficiente localizada no Centro de Eventos da UFSM e os testes foram realizados com fechamento superior de vidro simples e vidro duplo. Averiguou-se que o rendimento do sistema solar em função da radiação solar incidente com o fechamento de vidro duplo (50,43%) é superior em 11,38% ao rendimento do sistema com fechamento de vidro simples (39,05%). Isso se dá em virtude da estanqueidade adquirida com os vidros duplos e sua capacidade de reter o calor, reduzindo a troca térmica com o meio externo. Observou-se que a radiação solar recebida é suficiente para o aquecimento e armazenamento de calor no coletor solar, porém a transmissão de calor por convecção natural, também chamada de termossifão, não é o suficiente para transmitir toda a carga térmica necessária e deixar o ambiente na temperatura de conforto para o clima de inverno. Para imprimir maior rendimento ao sistema e incremento nas temperaturas do ambiente, faz-se necessário auxílio mecânico – como por exemplo o uso de um exaustor - a fim de auxiliar na transmissão do ar quente ao ambiente e, assim, alcançar o conforto térmico.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES The strategy of Hybrid Ventilation (VH) or mixed mode (MM), switching between the use of natural ventilation (VN) and air conditioning (AC), is a way to reduce expenses with artificial conditioning systems and achieve thermal comfort residential use, in addition to the gains in internal air quality, since in VH the use of the artificial air conditioning system is partial, occurring only at times of day when the internal conditions are outside the established performance standards and integrated with the passive conditioning strategies (VN). The objective of this work is to evaluate the VH strategy regarding the thermal comfort and potential of energy saving in a residential building in the Brazilian Bioclimatic Zone 2 (ZB 2). The influence of hybrid ventilation on thermal comfort and energy consumption was investigated by means of a temoenergetic simulation of a single family residence, Casa Popular Eficiente, implemented in the city of Santa Maria / RS, using EnergyPlus software. Two reference simulations were defined, one with artificial air conditioning and the other only with temperature - controlled natural ventilation and 2 base cases with 3 climatization scenarios each, these scenarios were simulated with variations in the types of controls for hybrid ventilation (VH), the which also incorporate the control of solar radiation through the automation of blinds. Finally, openings for natural ventilation were controlled through the Energy Management System (EMS) advanced feature of the EnergyPlus software. The results obtained demonstrate that the strategy of hybrid ventilation in its best configuration reduced the consumption with air conditioning in 51.40% for the control based on the ASHRAE 55 standard and 16.05% in the temperature control optimized by means of algorithm via EMS, in relation to the configuration using only artificial air conditioning. The use of solar shading (blinds) was efficient in reducing 1.38% in the annual consumption of electric energy, when using the strategy in mixed mode of air conditioning, obtaining better performance for the control based on ASHRAE 55. With regard to thermal comfort, in the summer, the worst situation occurs when the building uses only natural ventilation (VN) controlled by temperature, reducing thermal discomfort by adopting hybrid ventilation, maintaining the internal temperature for longer in the range of desirable temperatures for the thermal comfort sensation and representing a reduction of 2337.71 GHR for the optimized temperature control through the control algorithm and 1645.62 GHR for the control based on. ASHRAE, compared to the reference configuration, with only natural ventilation. The use of sunscreens was also efficient in reducing the parameter Degrees-Hour Independent of the control adopted when opting for the mixed mode of air conditioning or hybrid ventilation, the building reduced the energy consumption, improving thermal comfort. Therefore, this research demonstrated that through the management, control and integration capabilities possible through automation, it is feasible to optimize the ambient air conditioning through the implementation of the hybrid ventilation in conjunction with the shading to control the thermal gains through the radiation and, in this way , improve levels of thermal comfort and reduce energy consumption. A estratégia de Ventilação Híbrida(VH) ou modo misto (MM), alternância entre o uso da ventilação natural(VN) e do ar condicionado(AC), é uma maneira de reduzir os gastos com sistemas de condicionamento artificial e atingir o conforto térmico residencial, além dos ganhos em qualidade do ar interno, uma vez que na VH o uso do sistema artificial de climatização é parcial, ocorrendo apenas nos momentos do dia em que as condições internas estão fora dos padrões de desempenho estabelecidos e de forma integrada com a estratégias passivas de condicionamento (VN). O objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar a estratégia de VH quanto ao conforto térmico e potencial de economia de energia elétrica em uma edificação residencial, na Zona Bioclimática Brasileira 2 (ZB 2). A Influência da ventilação hibrida no conforto térmico e consumo energético foi investigada por meio de simulação temoenergética de uma residência unifamiliar, a Casa Popular Eficiente implantada na cidade de Santa Maria/RS, com o software EnergyPlus. Foram definidas 2 simulações de referência, uma com climatização artificial e outra apenas com ventilação natural controlada por temperatura e 2 casos - base com 3 cenários de climatização cada, estes cenários foram simulados com variações nos tipos de controles para ventilação híbrida(VH), os quais incorporam também, o controle da radiação solar através da automação de persianas. Por fim, as aberturas para ventilação natural foram controladas por meio do Energy Management System (EMS) recurso avançado do software EnergyPlus. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que a estratégia de ventilação híbrida em sua melhor configuração reduziu o consumo com ar condicionado em 51,40% para o controle com base na normativa ASHRAE 55 e 16,05% no controle por temperatura otimizado através de algoritmo via EMS, em relação a configuração utilizando apenas a climatização artificial. O uso de proteções solares (persianas) se mostrou eficiente na redução de 1.38% no consumo anual de energia elétrica, quando utilizada a estratégia em modo misto de climatização, obtendo melhor desempenho para o controle baseado na ASHRAE 55. No que se refere a conforto térmico, no verão, a pior situação, ocorre quando a edificação se utiliza apenas da ventilação natural(VN) controlada por temperatura, havendo redução no desconforto térmico ao adotar a ventilação híbrida, mantendo a temperatura interna por mais tempo na faixa das temperaturas desejáveis para a sensação de conforto térmico e representando uma redução de 2337.71 GHR para o controle por temperatura otimizado através do algoritmo de controle e de 1645.62 GHR para o controle com base na. ASHRAE, comparados a configuração de referência, apenas com ventilação natural. O uso de proteções solares também mostrou-se eficiente na redução do parâmetro Graus-Hora Independente do controle adotado ao optar pelo modo misto de climatização ou ventilação híbrida a edificação reduziu o consumo energético melhorando o conforto térmico. Portanto, esta pesquisa demonstrou que através dos recursos de gerenciamento, controle e integração, possíveis através da automação, é viável otimizar a climatização ambiental através da implantação da ventilação híbrida em conjunto com o sombreamento para controle dos ganhos térmicos através da radiação e, desta forma, melhorar os níveis de conforto térmico e reduzir o consumo de energia elétrica.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar o impacto de pontes térmicas de estrutura de concreto armado no desempenho termoenergético de uma edificação residencial na zona bioclimática 2. A modelagem das pontes térmicas no programa de simulação EnergyPlus foi configurada considerando cinco abordagens. A abordagem 1 trata a modelagem do edifício como ocorre em um edifício real, separando as pontes térmicas e adotando materiais e transmitâncias térmicas diferentes para ponte térmica na estrutura e para o restante dos fechamentos verticais; a abordagem 2 considera uma modelagem simplificada, por meio de uma parede equivalente, onde os fechamentos horizontais são compostos por um único plano sem diferenciação de materiais e transmitância térmica da parede, como normalmente são modelados os edifícios para simulação computacional, a abordagem 3 considera uma modelagem simplificada, porém com a ponderação entre as áreas de estrutura e fechamentos verticais para configurar a transmitância térmica e capacidade térmica, a abordagem 4 considera uma modelagem por parede equivalente, porém com a transmitância térmica do fechamento horizontal incrementada considerando a ISO 10.211 com a ajuda do software THERM 7.4 considerando a capacidade térmica da cerâmica. A abordagem 5 utiliza os mesmos valores de transmitância adotados para a abordagem 4, porém com as capacidades térmicas do concreto e parede cerâmica ponderadas. Os resultados mostram que o tipo de modelagem influencia nos valores de consumo energético na edificação, as diferentes modelagens podem chegar a uma diferença de consumo de até 13% quando comparada a abordagem que desconsidera as pontes térmicas com as que consideram cálculo de pontes térmicas. O nível de isolamento do envelope também interfere nas diferenças de consumo entre as 5 abordagens. The impact of thermal bridges and it’s consideration in calculations of thermal transmittance is a subject that has been discussed in several countries in the world and in regions of cold climate in Brazil. The presence of vulnerable points in the envelope of the building may influence the thermal energy performance, and may also have consequences for the envelopment of the building, such as favoring conditions for the formation of filamentous fungi. Globally, several countries already have standars or regulations on the subject, in Brazil, none of the regulations deals with this topic. This work aims to evaluate the impact of thermal bridges of reinforced concrete structure on the thermal energy performance of a residential building in bioclimatic zone 2. The modeling of the thermal bridges in the EnergyPlus simulation software was configured considering five approaches. Approach 1 treats the modeling of the building as it occurs in a real building, separating the thermal bridges and adopting different materials and thermal transmittance for thermal bridge in the structure and for the rest of the vertical closures; the approach 2 considers a simplified modeling, through an equivalent wall, where the horizontal closures are composed of a single plane with no differentiation of materials and thermal transmittance between structure and wall, as buildings are usually modeled for computational simulation. Approach 3 considers a simplified modeling, but with the weighting between the structural areas and vertical closures to configure thermal transmittance and thermal capacity. Approach 4 considers an equivalent wall modeling, but with the thermal transmittance of the horizontal closure increased considering the ISO 10.211 with the help of THERM 7.4 software, considering the thermal capacity of the ceramic. And the approach 5 uses the same thermal transmittance values adopted for approach 4, but with the thermal capacities of the concrete and ceramic wall weighted. The results show that the type of model influences the values of energy consumption in the building. The different models can reach a consumption difference of up to 13% when compared to the approach that disregards the thermal bridges with those that consider thermal bridge calculation. The level of envelope insulation also interferes with differences in consumption observing the 5 approaches.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES In the face of broad discussions about sustainable development, energy efficiency and bioclimatic architecture, more and more actions are needed to enable energy saving in civil construction. In order to do this, it has invested in studies for natural air conditioning, since this is one of the great demands of electricity of the residential sector. In the midst of new technologies, a widespread method in the 1970s has returned to the scientific milieu: so-called buried ducts or earthtubes, which consist of heat exchangers that use the high thermal inertia of the soil to cool the internal air of buildings. Due to this problem, the present study sought to investigate the passive cooling by pipelines buried in a hypothetical building located in the city of Santa Maria - RS, in the Bioclimatic Zone 02. The analysis was developed in computational scope, through simulations in the EnergyPlus software , through three different situations for the same building: Case-Base A, no buried duct, Case-Base B, no duct and with calculated natural ventilation, and Reference Cases, where several possible buried pipe geometries were combined. For the Reference Cases, different diameters, lengths, depths, number of air renewals and soil cover type were tested, generating a total of 216 arrangements. The results were evaluated from the number of degrees-hours of cooling and the number of hours in comfort, following the concepts of adaptive comfort. From these data, it was possible to draw a comparative diagnosis between the main variables that acted on the results. Among the most relevant aspects, it was observed that the increase in length, depth and number of air renewals per hour. And with the reduction of the diameter and the naked cover of the ground, are properties that contribute to the good operation of the system. Therefore, after the critical evaluation of the results, it was possible to choose a combination of buried duct variables considered indicated due to the high comfort indexes and the low number of degree-hours of cooling. The simulation, whose variables are: diameter of 0.20 m, 50 meters in length, duct ground depth of 3.0 meters, with twenty renovations per hour and with the soil discovered of vegetation; was listed as the most advantageous situation. This arrangement provided for Zone 1, 94.13% thermal comfort and 65 degree-hour cooling; for Zone 2, 94.08% thermal comfort and 62 degree-hour cooling; and for Zone 3, 84.23% thermal comfort and 256 degree-hour cooling. In this way, the use of underground pipelines proved to be efficient in terms of passive cooling, being a bioclimatic strategy that is functional for the climate under consideration and, therefore, can be better explored by construction professionals. Frente às amplas discussões acerca do desenvolvimento sustentável, da eficiência energética e da arquitetura bioclimática, cada vez mais se fazem necessárias ações que possibilitem a economia de energia na construção civil. Para isso, tem-se investido em estudos para climatização natural, já que esta é uma das grandes demandas de eletricidade do setor residencial. Em meio às novas tecnologias, um método difundido nos anos 1970 vem voltando ao meio científico: são os chamados dutos enterrados ou earthtubes, que consistem em trocadores de calor que usam da elevada inércia térmica do solo para resfriar o ar interno das edificações. Mediante essa problemática, o presente estudo buscou investigar o arrefecimento passivo por meio de dutos enterrados em uma edificação hipotética localizada na cidade de Santa Maria – RS, na Zona Bioclimática 02. A análise se desenvolveu em âmbito computacional, por meio de simulações no software EnergyPlus, através de três situações distintas para a mesma edificação: Caso-Base A, sem duto enterrado, Caso-Base B, sem duto e com ventilação natural calculada, e Casos-Referência, onde foram combinadas diversas geometrias possíveis de duto enterrado. Para os Casos-Referência, foram testados diferentes diâmetros, comprimentos, profundidades, número de renovações de ar e tipo de cobertura do solo, gerando um total de 216 arranjos. Os resultados foram avaliados a partir do número de graus-hora de resfriamento e do número de horas em conforto, seguindo os conceitos do conforto adaptativo. A partir destes dados, foi possível traçar um diagnóstico comparativo entre as principais variáveis que atuaram sobre os resultados. Dentre os aspectos mais relevantes, observou-se que o aumento do comprimento, da profundidade e do número de renovações de ar por hora. E com a redução do diâmetro e a cobertura desnuda do solo, são propriedades que contribuem para o bom funcionamento do sistema. Portanto, após a avaliação crítica dos resultados, foi possível eleger uma combinação de variáveis de duto enterrado considerada indicada por conta dos altos índices de conforto e do baixo número de graus-hora de resfriamento. A simulação cujas variáveis são: diâmetro de 0,20 m, 50 metros de comprimento, profundidade de aterramento do duto de 3,0 metros, com vinte renovações por hora e com o solo descoberto de vegetação; foi elencada como a situação mais vantajosa. Este arranjo proporcionou para a Zona 1, 94,13% de conforto térmico e 65 graus-hora de resfriamento; para a Zona 2, 94,08% de conforto térmico e 62 graus-hora de resfriamento; e para a Zona 3, 84,23% de conforto térmico e 256 graus-hora de resfriamento. Deste modo, a utilização de dutos enterrados se mostrou eficiente no que tange ao arrefecimento passivo, sendo uma estratégia bioclimática funcional para o clima considerado e, portanto, pode ser melhor explorada pelos profissionais da construção civil.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES In search of thermal comfort with lower energy consumption, research has been carried out seeking to reduce the thermal load of buildings. In this context, the roof system is evidenced, as it is mainly responsible for the thermal load increase on the last floor of residential buildings during the summer, causing high temperatures and cracks in its components. As a result, this research evaluated the thermal performance of the most common roof systems of multifamily buildings in the Brazilian Zone 2, through the methods recommended by NBR 15.575. In addition, the influence of the roof on the thermal behavior of the building with natural conditioning and the variation of the annual energy consumption of the last floor with artificial conditioning were evaluated. The thermal performance results revealed that the building roof was approved at the intermediate level by using the simplified method. Regarding the computational simulation method, it was disapproved in the summer and approved at the intermediate level in the winter. With the changes made in the roof variables, we noticed that the solar absorptivity has more influence on temperature changes of the environments than the thermal transmittance. Therefore, we suggest the inclusion of a range of values of solar absorptions in the simplified performance method criteria, combined with the limits of thermal transmittance for the roof in the Brazilian Zone 2. As to the thermal behavior of the building with natural conditioning, improvements in the roof system reduced summer temperatures by up to 6.36°C in the critical environment and by up to 31.01°C in the roof. Among these values, the decrease in solar absorptivity was the most expressive, reducing 6.02°C in the environment and 27.48°C in the roof. Roof compositions with better thermal behavior during the summer were those that had low solar absorptivity and high air renewal levels. These compositions also showed good results in the winter, but with the reduction of ventilation and the presence of thermal insulation in the system. With reference to the annual energy consumption of the artificially conditioned floor, the increase of the thermal transmittance greatly increased the annual consumption of heating and cooling, except in case of cooling when α=0.30. Likewise, the higher the roof absorptivity value, the higher the cooling expenditure and the lower the heating consumption. Comparing the annual energy consumption with a low solar absorptivity value in the roof, we observed that the thermal transmittance had more influence on the heating consumption. On the other hand, with high absorptivity, the total increase of the expenditure is even higher and more significant for the environment cooling Em busca do conforto térmico com menor consumo energético, tem-se procurado reduzir a carga térmica das edificações. Neste sentido, o sistema de cobertura ganha destaque, pois é o principal responsável pelo aumento da carga térmica no último pavimento de edifícios habitacionais durante o verão, ocasionando altas temperaturas e fissuras nos seus componentes. Em função disso, o trabalho avaliou o desempenho térmico dos sistemas de coberturas mais usuais de edificações multifamiliares na Zona Brasileira 2, por meio dos métodos recomendados pela NBR 15.575. Além disso, investigou a influência da cobertura no comportamento térmico do edifício com o condicionamento natural e a variação do consumo energético anual do último pavimento com o condicionamento artificial. Os resultados do desempenho térmico revelaram que a cobertura da edificação foi aprovada no nível mínimo, pelo método simplificado, e, pelo método de simulação computacional, ela foi reprovada no verão e aprovada no nível intermediário no inverno. Com as mudanças feitas nas variáveis da cobertura, percebeu-se que a absortância solar teve mais influência na alteração da temperatura dos ambientes do que a transmitância térmica. Por isso, sugere-se incluir nos critérios do método simplificado de desempenho um intervalo de valores de absortâncias solares, combinados com os limites de transmitância térmica para as coberturas na ZB2. No que se refere ao comportamento térmico da edificação com condicionamento natural, as melhorias no sistema de cobertura reduziram as temperaturas de verão em até 6,36°C no ambiente crítico e em até 31,01°C na cobertura. Entre esses valores, a diminuição da absortância solar foi a mais expressiva, representando a redução de 6,02°C no ambiente e de 27,48°C na cobertura. As composições de cobertura com melhor comportamento térmico durante o verão foram as que possuíam absortâncias solares baixas e altas renovações de ar. Essas composições também apresentaram bons resultados no inverno, porém com a redução da ventilação e presença de isolamento térmico no sistema. Com referência ao consumo energético anual do último pavimento condicionado artificialmente, observou-se que a elevação da transmitância térmica aumenta bastante o consumo anual de aquecimento e de resfriamento, exceto no caso de resfriamento quando α=0,30. Da mesma forma, quanto maior o valor da absortância da cobertura, maior o gasto de resfriamento e menor o consumo de aquecimento. Comparando o consumo energético anual com um valor baixo de absortância solar na cobertura, percebeu-se que a transmitância térmica tem mais influência no consumo de aquecimento, enquanto que, com absortância alta, a elevação total do gasto é ainda maior e mais significativa para o resfriamento do ambiente.

No caso de edificações existentes e ineficientes energeticamente, é indicado o retrofit para elevar o nível de eficiência energética e melhorar o conforto térmico. De acordo com a Norma de Desempenho de Edificações, o retrofit é definido como a ―Remodelação ou atualização do edifício ou de sistemas, através da incorporação de novas tecnologias e conceitos, normalmente visando valorização do imóvel, mudança de uso, aumento da vida útil, eficiência operacional e energética‖ (NBR 15575-1, 2013, p. 07). Nesse contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho é produzir sugestões de possíveis medidas de conservação de energia (MCE) em retrofit para um edifício de escritórios na zona bioclimática 02, relacionando o nível de eficiência energética e sua análise econômica, verificando a relação custo-benefício das possíveis MCEs. O método é composto pelas seguintes etapas: revisão de literatura, análise tipológica dos edifícios em altura com uso comercial na zona central de Pelotas, escolha do estudo de caso, análise das condições de uso e ocupação do edifício escolhido, modelagem e configuração do edifício existente, verificação do nível de eficiência energética do edifício existente (RTQ-C), diagnóstico energético e verificação das possíveis MCEs aplicáveis no retrofit, implantação das MCEs com a análise do nível de eficiência energética (RTQ-C) e análise da viabilidade econômica de cada MCE. Os resultados do trabalho demonstram quais as medidas que proporcionaram maior economia de energia e melhor custo-benefício, no âmbito da envoltória, do sistema de iluminação, climatização, equipamentos e sistemas. As medidas que se apresentaram mais vantajosas com ganhos expressivos e que compensaram o investimento, foram: o uso do isolante térmico XPS na cobertura, a instalação do sistema de dimerização e a implantação de painéis fotovoltaicos na cobertura da edificação. The design of buildings adapted to the climate is essential, mainly due to the need to reduce energy consumption in buildings. In the case of existing and energy-inefficient buildings, retrofit is indicated to raise the level of energy efficiency and improve thermal comfort. According to the Building Performance Standard, retrofit is defined as the "Remodeling or upgrading of the building or systems, through the incorporation of new technologies and concepts, usually aimed at valuing the property, change of use, increase of the useful life, Operational efficiency and energy "(NBR 15575-1, 2013, page 07). In this context, the objective of this work is to produce suggestions of possible energy conservation measures (MCE) in retrofit for an office building in the bioclimatic zone 02, relating the level of energy efficiency and its economic analysis, verifying the cost-benefit ratio of possible MCEs. The method is composed of the following steps: literature review, typological analysis of buildings in height with commercial use in the central area of Pelotas, choice of case study, analysis of the conditions of use and occupation of the chosen building, modeling and configuration of the existing building , Verification of the energy efficiency of the existing building (RTQ-C), energy diagnosis and verification of the possible MCEs applicable to retrofit, implementation of MCEs with analysis of the energy efficiency level (RTQ-C) and analysis of the economic feasibility of each MCE. The results of the work demonstrate the measures that provided greater energy savings and better cost-benefit, within the envelope, of the lighting system, air conditioning, equipment, and systems. The measures that were most advantageous with significant gains and that offset the investment were: the use of the XPS thermal insulation in the roof, the installation of the dimerization system and the implantation of photovoltaic panels in the roof of the building.

The vegetation has a preponderant role in the attenuation of the solar radiation incident on the built environment and in the obtaining of a microclimate that provides greater conditions of thermal comfort. The present study aims to evaluate the potential of reducing the energy consumption of residential buildings from the use of vegetal sun protection. Initially the basement and theoretical evaluations were carried out on the subject, verifying the influence of the afforestation in the urban environment and observing the correct forms of insertion of different tree species in the cities. A study was carried out by obtaining the Solar Transmission Rate (PTS) of four distinct trees, the species Psidium cattleyanum (Araçá), Lagerstroemia indica (Extremosa), Schyzolobium parahybum (Guapuruvu) and Tipuana tipu (Tipuana), studied For a period of twelve months, in all seasons, observing the shading capacity of each species and its formal characteristics. Afterwards, internal measurements were taken in an efficient popular residence, in the facade exposed to solar radiation west and through a computer simulation the conditions of energy consumption for cooling and heating were identified, without the use of solar protection and with the individual use of the four species Of trees analyzed. Through the obtained results the real influence of the trees in the energetic performance of the residence was verified and observed the particular behavior of each species in providing shading. The Araçá tree presented the best results in reducing the energy consumption for cooling, with 423,80 Kwh of annual reduction compared to the consumption without the use of sun protection, being 35.87% decrease in annual energy consumption. The Tipuana species presented a significant energy performance for cooling and heating of the residence with an annual reduction of 30.66% which is equivalent to 374.31 kwh of economy in the year. However, the Extremadura tree presented an energy efficiency for use as a sun protection of 27.67% per year of reduction in consumption, while the Guapuruvu species, even with a lower performance, also presented a reduction of 22.63% in annual energy consumption. Therefore, it was concluded that all the trees presented significant results in reducing the energy consumption in the different seasons. Therefore, it is proven that these act in the energy efficiency and in the residential environmental comfort, in the city of Santa Maria, RS. A vegetação tem um papel preponderante na atenuação da radiação solar incidente sobre o ambiente construído e na obtenção de um microclima que proporcione maiores condições de conforto térmico. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar o potencial de redução do consumo energético de edificações residenciais a partir da utilização de proteção solar vegetal. Inicialmente foi realizado o embasamento e avaliações teóricas sobre o tema, verificando a influência da arborização no meio urbano e observando as formas corretas de inserção de diferentes espécies arbóreas nas cidades. A seguir, foi elaborado um estudo através da obtenção do Percentual de Transmissão Solar (PTS) de quatro arbóreas distintas, a espécie Psidium cattleyanum ( Araçá), Lagerstroemia indica ( Extremosa), Schyzolobium parahybum ( Guapuruvu) e Tipuana tipu ( Tipuana), estudadas por um período de doze meses, em todas as estações do ano, observando a capacidade de sombreamento de cada espécie e suas características formais. Posteriormente foram realizadas medições internas em uma residência popular eficiente, na fachada exposta a radiação solar oeste e através de uma simulação computacional foram identificadas as condições de consumo energético para resfriamento e aquecimento, sem o uso de proteção solar e com a utilização individual das quatro espécies de arbóreas analisadas. Através dos resultados obtidos foram verificadas a real influência das árvores no desempenho energético da residência e observados o comportamento particular de cada espécie em proporcionar sombreamento. A arbórea Araçá apresentou os melhores resultados na redução do consumo energético para resfriamento, com 423,80 Kwh de redução anual comparando-se ao consumo sem a utilização da proteção solar, sendo 35,87% de diminuição no consumo energético anual. A espécie Tipuana apresentou um desempenho energético relevante para resfriamento e aquecimento da residência com uma redução anual de 30,66% o que equivale a 374,31Kwh de economia no ano. Já a arbórea Extremosa apresentou uma eficiência energética para utilização como proteção solar de 27,67% anual de redução no consumo, enquanto a espécie Guapuruvu mesmo com um desempenho menor, também apresentou redução de 22,63% no consumo energético anual. Portanto foi concluído que todas as arbóreas apresentaram resultados significativos na redução do consumo energético nas diferentes estações. Sendo assim comprovado que estas atuam na eficiência energética e no conforto ambiental residencial, no Município de Santa Maria, RS.

A metodologia adotada baseia-se nas NBR 15575 (2008) -Desempenho de edifícios habitacionais e NBR 15220 (2005) – Desempenho térmico de edificações. Foram realizadas medições de temperatura do ar em cinco unidades habitacionais, localizadas no interior e na extremidade das fitas (tipologia adotada). Para avaliar as temperaturas externa e interna do ar, medidas nas casas selecionadas, foram realizadas as análises de dias típicos de verão e inverno para vários níveis de freqüência de ocorrência de temperatura, considerando uma série histórica de 2009 a 2015 e enfim, definidas as temperaturas externas e sua comparação com as temperaturas internas. A confrontação com as normas, na avaliação prescritiva demonstrou que as habitações não atendem às exigências da NBR 15575 e NBR 15220. No método de medição in loco, as unidades habitacionais apresentaram desempenho térmico dentro das exigências da NBR 15.575 destacando que as unidades construídas nas extremidades das fitas apresentaram temperaturas mais quentes no período de verão e mais frias no período de inverno, o que veio confirmar a sensação térmica percebida pelos usuários através da aplicação de questionários. This study presents a diagnosis of the application of a technology used with Wood-frame panels for habitations of social interest of the residential set “Haragano” in the city of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, by the housing program “Minha Casa, Minha Vida” (MCMV) in order to evaluate their thermal performance for Summer and Winter conditions. The adopted methodology is based on the standards NBR 15575 (2008) – Desempenho de edifícios habitacionais and NBR 15220 (2005) – Desempenho térmico de edificações. Air temperature measurements were made in five housing units, located in the interior and on the edge of the tapes (adopted typology). To evaluate external and internal air temperature, measured in the selected houses, first, the analysis of typical Summer days to several levels of frequency of temperature occurrence were made, considering a historic series from 2009 through 2015, and then defined the external temperatures and their comparison to the internal temperatures.The confrontation with the standards on the prescriptive evaluation has showed that the habitations do not attend to the requirements of NBR 15220 and NBR 15575. In the measurement methodology “in loco”, the housing units presented a thermal performance within the requirements of NBR 15575, stressing that the units built on the edge of the tapes presented hotter temperatures during the period of Summer and colder temperatures during the period of Winter, what came to confirm the thermal sensation noticed by users through the application of questionnaires.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior The Autodesk Revit software has been increasingly used in architecture due to the advantages brought about by the incorporation of BIM technology, which combines all the information representing a real building into a single virtual model. However, its capabilities have not yet been fully explored, such as in building simulations, for which Revit lacks detailed thermal analytical features. Thus, this study aims to examine the reliability of the interoperability between Autodesk Revit 2016 and EnergyPlus 8.4.0 by using Revit models for thermal simulations in EnergyPlus, one of the most commonly used tools for this purpose. The methodology consists of case studies targeting building models based on Case 600, from ASHRAE Standard 140, and Casa Eficiente Project, located in the city of Florianópolis, Brazil. The digital models of both buildings were produced in Revit with different modelling processes (conceptual mass or building elements with rooms or spaces) and software settings. All of these BIM models were exported in IFC, gbXML and IDF file formats and later converted through the use of additional tools in order to be opened in EnergyPlus. Such files were compared with the reference model of each building produced directly in EnergyPlus, using SketchUp containing the plug-in Legacy OpenStudio, in order to check for any distortions occurring in the process of data transfer when performing model exports and conversions. This comparison was based on parameters defined for geometry, simulation settings (materials thermal properties, building use and occupation etc.) and simulation results containing outputs of monthly internal temperatures for the thermal zones of each model. The results showed variations and similarities among the different types of modelling, export processes, and file formats used, revealing that distortions in data transfer become larger the more complex the building model is. This study points out conceptual mass models from gbXML files regardless of the export mode out of Revit as a viable alternative to be used in conjunction with EnergyPlus, as they preserve the geometrical accuracy of the building, even as some Revit default settings may be transferred over, thus failing to reflect some of the aspects of the real built environment. However, it was found that Revit models in general are not recommended for these types of exports due to the resulting rework needed for correcting files. It was concluded that the interoperability between Autodesk Revit and EnergyPlus is not perfect, as their combined use allows for data transfers that make possible the thermal simulation of buildings, however, in this exchange there are distortions in the exported geometries and lack of the necessary data for correct simulation in all exported models. O programa computacional Autodesk Revit tem seu uso crescente na prática de projetos de arquitetura devido às vantagens pela incorporação da tecnologia BIM, a qual reúne todas as informações que representam uma edificação real em um único modelo virtual. Contudo suas capacidades ainda não são totalmente exploradas, inclusive no âmbito de simulação computacional de edificações no qual o programa carece de ferramentas para análises térmicas detalhadas do ambiente construído. Portanto, este estudo objetivou analisar o grau de confiabilidade da interoperabilidade entre os programas Autodesk Revit 2016 e EnergyPlus 8.4.0, para verificar o uso de modelos digitais de edificações criados no Revit em simulações térmicas realizadas na ferramenta EnergyPlus, uma das mais difundidas para este fim. A metodologia consistiu em estudos de caso com modelos de edificações baseados no Case 600, da norma ASHRAE Standard 140, e no Projeto Casa Eficiente, localizado em Florianópolis. Os modelos digitais de ambas as edificações foram produzidos no Revit com diferentes processos de modelagem (massas conceituais ou elementos de construção com ambientes ou espaços inseridos) e configurações do programa. Todos estes modelos BIM foram exportados nos formatos de arquivo IFC, gbXML e IDF e posteriormente convertidos para a extensão suportada pelo EnergyPlus, com o auxílio de ferramentas adicionais, para serem abertos no programa. Tais arquivos foram comparados com o modelo de referência de cada edificação produzido diretamente no EnergyPlus, por meio do programa SketchUp com o plug-in Legacy OpenStudio, para verificar as distorções na transferência das informações quando foi realizada a exportação e conversão dos modelos. Esta comparação foi feita com base em parâmetros definidos para as geometrias, configurações de simulação (propriedades térmicas dos materiais, padrões de uso e ocupação, entre outros) e resultados das simulações com valores de saída para as temperaturas internas mensais das zonas térmicas de cada modelo. Os resultados demonstraram variações e similaridades entre os tipos de modelagem, de processo de exportação e de formato de arquivo utilizado, cujas distorções na transferência dos dados são maiores quanto mais complexo for o modelo da edificação. A pesquisa apontou que os modelos de massas conceituais provenientes de arquivos gbXML, independentemente do modo de exportação a partir do Revit, configuraram-se como alternativa mais viável para utilização no EnergyPlus, por se manterem mais próximos à geometria da edificação, ainda que sejam transferidas configurações padrão do Revit que podem não retratar a realidade do ambiente construído. Porém, foi verificado que, de maneira geral, os modelos digitais do Autodesk Revit não são recomendados para esse tipo de exportação devido ao retrabalho diante da necessidade de correções nos arquivos. Concluiu-se que não é perfeita a interoperabilidade entre os programas computacionais Autodesk Revit e EnergyPlus, pois existe a possibilidade de transferência de informações para simulações térmicas de edificações, entretanto nesta troca há distorções nas geometrias e falta de dados necessários para a correta execução da simulação em todos os modelos exportados.

O Regulamento Técnico da Qualidade para o Nível de Eficiência Energética de Edificações Residenciais utiliza a simulação computacional como método de avaliação, abordando em seu conteúdo parâmetros de uso e ocupação, no entanto, aspectos específicos como a quantidade e as potências dos equipamentos elétricos, o vapor gerado pela cocção de alimentos na cozinha, os horários de ocupação de cada ambiente, a maneira como se usa a ventilação natural ou o ar condicionado não possuem uma abordagem específica para cada zona ou região. Essa generalização leva ao questionamento de se de fato os parâmetros utilizados nas simulações de desempenho termoenergético das habitações de interesse social estão de acordo com a realidade dos usuários. O objetivo principal desta pesquisa é analisar a influência do uso e da ocupação dos usuários no desempenho termoenergético das habitações de interesse social na ZB 2. A metodologia do trabalho é composta por uma etapa de levantamento de dados em campo, através da aplicação de questionários estruturados, em quatro conjuntos habitacionais de Pelotas na faixa III do programa MCMV. Nestes questionários foram abordadas variáveis presentes no regulamento em relação aos parâmetros de uso e ocupação. Posteriormente foram desenvolvidos modelos computacionais para a simulação termoenergética, realizada através do software Energy Plus. Os resultados encontrados mostram que os dados obtidos com a pesquisa divergem do regulamento em alguns aspectos, principalmente em relação ao número de moradores das habitações, o sombreamento pelo uso de cortinas, a carga de equipamentos elétricos e os horários de ocupação, iluminação e uso do ar condicionado. A ENCE da envoltória dos modelos não variou mesmo quando as agendas da pesquisa foram consideradas. Os consumos obtidos com os modelos configurados pela pesquisa ficaram próximos dos consumos reais obtidos com as contas de energia. The issue of social housing is certainly one of the most important in the present urban scenario, given the acknowledged deficit in the sector. The Technical Regulation of the Quality for Energy Efficiency Level of Residential Buildings uses computer simulation as an assessment method, analyzing its content parameters of use and occupancy, however specific aspects such as the amount and the powers of electrical equipment, steam generated for cooking food in the kitchen, the each room occupancy schedules, the way they use natural ventilation or air conditioning do not have a specific approach for each area or region. This generalization leads to the question, if indeed the parameters used in thermoenergetic performance simulations of social housing are in line with the reality of users. The main objective of this research is to analyze the influence of the use and occupation of the users in thermoenergetic performance of social housing in ZB 2. The work methodology consists of a data collection in the field step, by applying structured questionnaires in four social housing of Pelotas in the range III of the MCMV program. In these questionnaires, variables present in the Regulation were addressed, in relation to the use and occupancy parameters. Later they were developed computer models for thermoenergetic simulation held by Energy Plus software. The results show that the data obtained from the survey differ from regulation in some aspects. Especially in relation to the number of residents of housing, shading by the use of curtains, the load of electrical equipment and occupancy schedules, lighting and use of air conditioning. The ENCE of the envelopment of the models did not change even when the schedules of the research were considered. The consumption obtained with the models set by the survey were close to the actual consumption obtained with energy bills.

Com um novo panorama político e financeiro surgindo no horizonte do país, o cuidado com um melhor desempenho e maior eficiência no consumo de energia em edificações poderão garantir um diferencial para os tomadores de decisão em um mercado que volte a ter que competir por recursos e clientes. A ideia de normalizar, tipificar e padronizar componentes, racionalizando meios e processos, em paralelo ao ajuste legal e a proposição de novas normativas para o setor, são bem vindas. Acredita-se que as existentes serão melhor exploradas e consolidadas ao longo dos próximos anos. Este trabalho apresenta os resultados de um estudo comparativo, com enfoque no desempenho térmico e energético, sobre a inserção para prédios comerciais de uma tecnologia localmente inovadora: a parede de dupla pele opaca, também conhecida por fachada ventilada opaca. Este sistema oferece maior rapidez de execução e menor geração de resíduos, se comparado aos sistemas de vedação externa tradicionalmente empregados na indústria da construção. Neste cenário, a importância deste estudo justifica-se pela exploração da viabilidade e correição no emprego de tecnologias ainda pouco exploradas em nosso contexto. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é apresentar em que medida a fachada ventilada opaca pode contribuir na redução do consumo de energia, na menor dependência de climatização artificial e na ampliação do conforto dos usuários em prédios comerciais do país. Considerando uma combinação de alta densidade de ocupação e intenso uso de equipamentos, avalia-se seu desempenho termoenergético a partir um modelo exploratório, adotado em todas as oito zonas bioclimáticas brasileiras. O prédio-base com o sistema proposto é avaliado e comparado a outro equivalente, com envoltório tradicional de blocos vazados de concreto e argamassa de revestimento. Foram observados o desempenho térmico e a eficiência energética dos modelos estudados, bem como os valores de implementação baseados no potencial de energia economizada em períodos de dez, trinta e cinquenta anos. Os resultados obtidos indicam que, apenas com uso de ventilação natural, o sistema proposto obtém maior grau de conforto em três das oito zonas bioclimáticas. A partir da expectativa de consumo de energia anual contabilizando-se a necessidade por climatização, o sistema proposto apresenta melhor desempenho em quatro zonas bioclimáticas. A avaliação econômica executada para estas quatro zonas com melhor desempenho apontaram que a instalação do sistema proposto não será possível apenas com o valor da energia economizada, embora possa refletir na otimização do sistema de climatização instalado. On a scenario of economical stability Brazil has seen, since the millennium turn over, significant growth on the construction sector. It has been driven by the large supply of public credit, allowing the renovation of property inventories on the country. With a new political and economic perspective on the horizon, the concern on the buildings performance and the aim for a greater energy efficiency will allow a competitive differential for stakeholders, at a market that returns the competition for clients and resources. The idea of regulate and standardize materials, rationalizing process, in parallel with legal adjustment and new propositions for the area are welcome, and it is believed that will be better deepened and consolidated on the next years. This study presents the results of a comparative study, focused on the thermic and energetic performance, regarding the insertion on commercial buildings of a technology that is innovative at a local level: the double skin wall, also knows as opaque ventilated façade. This system provides a faster work execution and a lowest waste production, if compared with the sealing systems normally used by the construction industry. Within this scenario, the importance of this study is justified by the expectancy of the viability on the insertion of new technologies yet unexplored in our context. This study main objective is to present in what extend the double skin wall can contribute for the reduction of energy consumption through a smaller dependency of artificial conditioning and the enlargement of the users comfort in the country commercial buildings in the country. Considering a combination of a high occupation density and intense use internal energy, the thermal and energetic performance are evaluated, made since an exploratory model, to be adopted in all eight Brazilian climatic zones. The base building with the proposed system is evaluated and compared to another analogous with traditional envelope of concrete two cores blocks and layer mortar coating. Both the thermal and the energetic performance of the models have been studied, as well as the implementation costs, based on the energy savings potential on periods of ten, thirty and fifty years. The results show that, only with the use of natural ventilation, the proposed system has a higher comfort in three of the eight Brazilian Climatic Zones. Through the expected of energy consumption by calculated accounting for the need of air conditioning, the proposed system provides and better performance in four of Brazilian Bioclimatic Zones. The economic evaluation performed for these four areas with higher performance indicated that the installation of the proposed system is not possible only the value of the energy saved, although it may reflect the optimization of HVAC system installed.

Vários países já adotaram políticas de conservação de energia quebrando paradigmas e mudando a maneira de projetar edificações. O Brasil retomou sua caminhada em busca de diretrizes de desempenho termo energético de edificações após a crise energética de 2001, e, a partir de então normas e regulamentos foram sendo criados, visando aumentar o desempenho termo energético das edificações. Este trabalho propõe avaliar o nível de eficiência energética da envoltória de edificações comerciais - lojas da zona central da cidade de Pelotas, RS, identificando MCE - Medidas de Conservação de Energia que auxiliem na melhoria do desempenho energético destas edificações. Verifica também a eficiência da utilização de MCE na cobertura, com base nos resultados de simulação computacional. Para isso, o trabalho foi dividido em quatro partes, sendo elas: levantamentos; simulação do nível de eficiência energética da envoltória dos exemplares de cada edificação escolhida; proposta de MCE e análise econômica das medidas corretivas. Das 3.206 edificações presentes na zona central da cidade de Pelotas, percebe-se que edificações de até dois pavimentos, construídas entre lotes, até 1980, com predominância de cores claras nas fachadas e percentual de fechamentos transparentes entre 30 e 70%, caracterizam as edificações da zona central da cidade. A partir disso, escolheu-se 16 edificações que foram simuladas apresentando níveis de eficiência energética variando de A a D, com consumos médios de 109,84 kWh/m² ano. Quanto às MCE, foram testadas três medidas: alteração da absortância solar da cobertura; isolamento da cobertura e a soma das duas medidas anteriores. Para as pequenas lojas analisadas, a associação das MCE de isolamento da cobertura e diminuição da absortância solar para 0,20, obteve melhores resultados. Já nas grandes lojas, os melhores resultados foram obtidos somente reduzindo a absortância solar. The current energy situation causes concern worldwide towards the natural resources conservation. Several countries have already implemented policies for energy conservation breaking paradigms and changing the way of designing buildings. Brazil resumed its journey in search of guidelines for thermal performance of buildings after the energy crisis in 2001, and thereafter rules and regulations were created in order to increase the energy performance of buildings. This study aims at assessing the level of energy efficiency of commercial buildings envelope- shops of Pelotas city center, RS, identifying ECM - Energy Conservation Measures to assist the improvement of energy performance of these buildings. It also checks the efficiency of MCE uses in coverage, based on the results by computer simulation. The study was divided into four parts, namely: surveys; simulation of the energy level efficiency of the envelope for each chosen building; proposal of measures for energy conservation; economic analysis of corrective measures. Of the 3.206 buildings present in Pelotas city center, it was possible to observe that the up two-story buildings, built in lots, until the 1980s, predominantly in light-colored facades, the percentage of medium transparency in the facades (30 to 70%) characterize the central zone of the city. From these buildings, 16 were chosen and simulated with levels of energy efficiency ranging from A to D, with average consumption of 109,84 kWh/m² per year. As for ECM, three measures were tested: changes in the solar absorptance of the cover; isolation of the coverage and the sum of the two previous measures. For the small stores analyzed, the association of two ECM had the best results, namely the isolation of the coverage and the reduction of the solar absorptance to 0,20. In the big stores, the best results were obtained only by reducing the solar absorptance.

CO2 is one of the main gases accountable for the increment of the greenhouse effect, of climate changes, and of environmental degradation arising from this ecological unbalance. Civil construction is one of the main sources of CO2 emissions, using construction techniques that are more sustainable can contribute to the reduction of those emissions. Furthermore, the energy content of materials must be taken into account as well due to the fact that the consumption of petroleum by-products increases the CO2 indexes in the atmosphere. It becomes then clear that the less energy is consumed, even those renewable, the less environmental impact there is. Thus, it is indispensable to analyse not only the emissions of CO2 but also the energy content of materials used in three roofing technologies under scrutiny in this research: green roofs, fibre cement, and ceramic tiles. Green roofs are a sustainable alternative to be implemented in covering the top of buildings. This research, therefore, aims to compare the CO2 emission to the energy content of two green roof solutions and of two traditional coverage solutions in the pre-operational phase in the cities of Porto Alegre and Santa Maria, both in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The method used to identify left from the layers and constituents in each green cover, and the raw materials used in traditional roofs, measuring how much material was used for each cover, analyzing all the material traversed by the means of transport, quantifying emissions CO2 and energy consumption of materials by processes fabrication them and finally to compare all results. Common belief is that green roofs have the potential to mitigate environmental damages, especially those caused by the civil construction sector concerning CO2 emissions and energy consumption in the pre-operational phase, just as advantages in the operational phase are described. Such hypothesis was confirmed for the tested cover. However, among the possibilities discussed below for closing the top of buildings, green roofs are the only technology capable of mitigating environmental damage, in particular, the emission of carbon dioxide, and provide an environmental service to the community carbon sequestration to throughout his life . Nonetheless, amongst the building coverage possibilities herein analysed, green roofs are the only technology capable of integrally mitigating environmental damages in a few years, especially the emission of carbon dioxide, and also the only technology capable of providing an environmental service to the collectivity of carbon sequestration to throughout his life. O CO2 é um dos principais gases responsáveis pelo incremento do efeito estufa, das mudanças climáticas e da degradação ambiental decorrente deste desequilíbrio ecológico. Sendo a construção civil uma das principais responsáveis pela emissão de CO2, o uso de técnicas construtivas mais sustentáveis pode contribuir para a redução dessas emissões. Além disso, o conteúdo energético dos materiais também é importante ser considerado, pois além de incrementar, através de consumo de derivados de petróleo, os índices de CO2 na atmosfera, o menor consumo de energia possível, mesmo as renováveis, representa menores impactos ambientais. Assim sendo, imprescindível analisar não só a emissão de CO2, como também o conteúdo energético dos materiais empregados nas três tecnologias de cobertura objetos de estudo desta pesquisa: coberturas verdes, de fibrocimento e de telhas cerâmicas. As coberturas verdes são uma possibilidade sustentável a ser implementada no fechamento de topo de edificações. A presente pesquisa visa a comparar as emissões de CO2 e o conteúdo energético de duas soluções de cobertura verdes e duas soluções de coberturas tradicionais, na fase pré-operacional, localizadas em Porto Alegre e outra em Santa Maria RS. O método utilizado partiu desde identificar as camadas e elementos constituintes em cada cobertura verde, bem como os insumos utilizados nas coberturas tradicionais, mensurar quanto material foi utilizado para cada cobertura, analisar o percorrido de todos os materiais pelos meios de transportes, quantificar as emissões de CO2 e o consumo energético dos materiais pelos processos de fabricações dos mesmos e finalmente comparar todos os resultados. O senso comum considera que as coberturas verdes têm o potencial de mitigar danos ambientais, especialmente os causados pelo setor da construção civil de emissão de CO2 e de consumo energético na fase pré-operacional, da mesma forma como são descritas as vantagens na fase operacional. Tal hipótese se confirmou para as coberturas avaliadas. Dentre as possibilidades aqui analisadas para fechamento de topo de edificações, as coberturas verdes são a única tecnologia capaz de mitigar os danos ambientais, em especial, a emissão de dióxido de carbono, e fornecer um serviço ambiental à coletividade de sequestro de carbono ao longo de sua vida útil.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior This work evaluates the level of energy efficiency standard pattern, located in the brazilian bioclimatic zone 2, through the application of Quality Technical Regulation for Energy Level of Residential Buildings ( RTQ -R ) Efficiency detached buildings, having as a basis for the study city of Santiago-RS. To define the pattern of residences were adopted conceptions of NBR 12721 (ABNT, 2006), which deals with the evaluation of construction costs for real estate development , together with research and analysis project in the city of Santiago-RS. Thus, we assessed the level of energy efficiency of buildings analyzed using prescriptive methods and simulation RTQ-R being used for simulations and computational program DesignBuilder. We defined four buildings objects of study, two elongated rectangular shape with areas of 99,88m² and 142,05m², and two compact rectangular shape of 100,00m² and 168,65m². The name used for this study was based on the shape of the floor plan of the residences. The residences of elongated rectangular presented Level B and compact rectangular Level C in the envelope energy efficiency. Similarities were found in the results obtained by the two methods, especially in energy consumption for heating, presenting Levels A and B, since the degree-hour cooling was variable between levels B and C. It was observed that the buildings have discomfort during the summer. We also evaluated the influence of the thermal properties considered as prerequisites of opaque vertical locks, for it was chosen one of the residences to make alterations to the values of thermal transmittance, absorptance and solar thermal capacity. Starting from the actual data of the external walls of the building, stipulated the values to be simulated, totaling 18 simulations for determining the number of cooling degree-hours and energy consumption for heating and cooling. Thus, there was consistency in the limits of the prerequisites of the RTQ-R, however, it was observed that with low solar absorptance, increased thermal transmittance slightly affected the results, indicating greater consistency in the adoption of prerequisites that involving the thermal characteristics of the closures. Este trabalho avalia o nível de eficiência energética de edificações unifamiliares padrão normal, localizadas na zona bioclimática 2 brasileira, através da aplicação do Regulamento Técnico da Qualidade para o Nível de Eficiência Energética de Edificações Residenciais (RTQ-R), possuindo como base de estudo a cidade de Santiago-RS. Para a definição do padrão das residências adotaram-se as concepções da NBR 12721 (ABNT, 2006), que trata da avaliação de custos de construção para incorporação imobiliária, juntamente com pesquisas e análises de projeto na cidade de Santiago-RS. Dessa forma, avaliou-se o nível de eficiência energética das edificações analisadas com base nos métodos prescritivo e de simulação do RTQ-R, sendo utilizado para as simulações o programa computacional DesignBuilder. Definiram-se quatro edificações objetos de estudo, sendo duas de formato retangular alongado com áreas de 99,88m² e 142,05m², e duas de formato retangular compacto de 100,00m², e 168,65m². A denominação usada para este trabalho baseou-se no formato da planta baixa das residências. As residências de formato retangular alongado apresentaram Nível B e as de formato retangular compacto Nível C na eficiência energética da envoltória. Foram encontradas similaridades nos resultados obtidos pelos dois métodos, principalmente, no consumo de energia para aquecimento, apresentando Níveis A e B, já a variável graus-hora de resfriamento alternou entre Níveis B e C. Foi observado que as edificações possuem desconforto no período de verão. Também foi verificada a influência das propriedades térmicas consideradas como pré-requisitos dos fechamentos opacos verticais, para isto escolheu-se uma das residências para realizar as alterações dos valores de transmitância térmica, capacidade térmica e absortância solar. Partindo dos dados reais das paredes externas da edificação, estipularam-se os valores a serem simulados, totalizando 18 simulações para a determinação do número de graus-hora de resfriamento e consumo de energia para aquecimento e refrigeração. Diante disso, verificou-se a coerência dos limites dos pré-requisitos do RTQ-R, porém, foi observado que com a baixa absortância solar, o aumento da transmitância térmica pouco afetou os resultados, indicando maior conformidade na adoção de pré-requisitos que associem as características térmicas dos fechamentos.

The hospital is room for reestablishment of health and therefore its environments should be comfortable and fit to this function, including thermal comfort. In this context, this paper presents a review of the conditions for thermal comfort and thermal performance in the inpatients bedrooms of the University Hospital of Santa Maria (HUSM) city using measurements, site survey and computer simulation (DesignBuilder software). To analyze the thermal comfort, human and environmental variables were raised during the summer and winter of 2012, in four hospital bedrooms with east and west exposure, following the recommendations of ASHRAE 55 (2010). From the collected data, we calculated the PMV and PPD through Analysis 1.5 software. Analysis of degree-hours of discomfort with the data obtained from computational simulation was also performed. To evaluate the thermal performance tests were carried out by observing the damping and thermal flows, still analysis was performed closures and opaque areas of the ventilation parameters considering the simplified method proposed by NBR 15,575 (2013 ) The data found in measurements show that there is large temperature range in Santa Maria. As for thermal comfort, the results showed that the analyzed environments are comfortable for the winter period and uncomfortable for the summer period, showing that the air velocity improves comfort levels for internal temperatures up to 28° C. Another aspect found is that the thermal damping obtained demonstrates that the building has great thermal inertia, contributing to thermal comfort, especially in winter. As for thermal performance, the results of the simplified method demonstrate that the building meets the minimum performance criteria of ISO 15.575 (2013). In the simulation to analyze environments performance, through heat fluxes, the results showed that the greatest gains are achieved through occupation and the solar gains, while the largest losses occur by air infiltration. These data confirm the results obtained from analysis of thermal comfort. It is noted that solar gains are positive for the winter period and the infiltration is negative. However a minimal infiltration must be preserved to hygienic ventilation for the rooms. During summer time, the use of shading devices is crucial to reduce solar gain. It was also found that the solar orientation influences the thermal performance and comfort. Finally, in the case of HUSM, the window frames should be retrofitted to ensure hygienic ventilation in winter and for summer days, it is necessary to use artificial cooling, the need for which can be reduced by the implementation of a ventilation system with control of temperature and improvement in sun protection systems. O hospital é espaço para reestabelecimento da saúde e, portanto, seus ambientes devem ser confortáveis e adequar-se, inclusive termicamente, a esta função. Neste contexto, este trabalho apresenta uma avaliação das condições de conforto térmico e do desempenho térmico da área de internação do Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria, utilizando-se medições, levantamento no local e simulação computacional (programa DesignBuilder). Para a análise do conforto térmico foram levantadas as variáveis humanas e ambientais, no período de verão e inverno de 2012, em quatro quartos de internação com orientação leste e oeste, seguindo as recomendações da ASHRAE 55 (2010). A partir dos dados levantados calculou-se o PMV e o PPD, através do programa Analysis 1.5. Também realizou-se análise do número de graus-hora de desconforto com os dados obtidos da simulação computacional. Para avaliação do desempenho térmico as análises foram desenvolvidas observando o amortecimento e os fluxos térmicos, ainda realizou-se análise dos fechamentos opacos e áreas de ventilação considerando os parâmetros do método simplificado proposto pela NBR 15.575 (2013). Os dados encontrados nas medições mostraram que há grande amplitude térmica no município de Santa Maria. Quanto ao conforto térmico, os resultados demonstraram que os ambientes analisados são confortáveis para o período de inverno e desconfortáveis para o período de verão, mostrando que a velocidade do ar melhora os índices de conforto para temperaturas internas até 28 °C. Outro aspecto verificado foi que o amortecimento térmico obtido demonstrou que a edificação possui grande inércia térmica, colaborando para o conforto térmico, principalmente, no inverno. Quanto ao desempenho térmico, os resultados do método simplificado demonstraram que a edificação atende os critérios mínimos de desempenho térmico da NBR 15.575 (2013). Na simulação para avaliar desempenho dos ambientes, através dos fluxos térmicos, os resultados demonstraram que os maiores ganhos acontecem através da ocupação e pelos ganhos solares, enquanto que as maiores perdas ocorrem por infiltração. Estes dados corroboram os resultados obtidos na análise do conforto térmico. Salienta-se que os ganhos solares são positivos para o período de inverno e a infiltração negativa, entretanto deve-se garantir uma ventilação higiênica para os ambientes. No verão, o uso de proteções solares é fundamental para reduzir os ganhos solares. Enfim, no caso do HUSM, as esquadrias devem ser readequadas para garantir ventilação higiênica no inverno e, para o verão, é necessário utilizar-se climatização artificial em alguns horários do dia, cuja necessidade pode ser reduzida pela implantação de um sistema de ventilação com controle de temperatura e melhoria nos sistemas de proteção solar.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES In 2009, the Technical Regulations for Energy Efficiency Labelling of Commercial Buildings (RTQ-C) was published, which presents the methodology for evaluating the level of energy efficiency in buildings and it proposes limits of thermal transmittance and solar absorptance for opaque locks of walls and roofs. Thus, this work aimed, through the application of both methods of RTQ-C, to evaluate the energy efficiency level of educational buildings envelopment at the Federal University of Santa Maria, to compare the applicability and equivalence between existing methods and to assess the influence of different thermal transmittance and solar absorptance in locks evaluated by this. It was evaluated 19 buildings of classrooms and laboratories by the prescriptive method, while, by the simulation method, two buildings were evaluated with high charge density installed. For the buildings evaluated by both methods, the result of the equation of the prescriptive method corresponded to the result of the simulation. However, the attendance to the prerequisites of the envelope made all the buildings evaluated by the prescriptive method were decreased of levels A and B to the efficiency levels C and E. In addition, the replacement of thermal transmittance and solar absorptance parameters in locks of walls and roofs did not result in a lower efficiency level than B. Thus, it was observed that, for buildings with high power density installed of bioclimatic zone 2, the prerequisites of envelope did not shown in accordance with the energy consumption resulting from evaluations and, therefore, they should be reviewed. Em 2009, foi lançado o Regulamento Técnico da Qualidade do Nível de Eficiência Energética de Edifícios Comerciais, de Serviço e Públicos (RTQ-C), que apresenta metodologias para avaliação do nível de eficiência energética nessas edificações e estipula limites de transmitância térmica e absortância solar para os fechamentos opacos de paredes e coberturas, entre os pré-requisitos. Dessa forma, este trabalho buscou, através da aplicação de ambos os métodos do RTQ-C, avaliar o nível de eficiência energética da envoltória de edificações educacionais da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, comparar a aplicabilidade e equivalência entre os métodos existentes e, ainda, avaliar a influência de diferentes transmitâncias térmicas e absortâncias solares nos fechamentos avaliados por este. Foram avaliadas 19 edificações pelo método prescritivo, enquanto que, pelo método de simulação, foram avaliadas duas com alta densidade de carga instalada. Para os prédios avaliados por ambos os métodos, o resultado da equação do método prescritivo se equivaleu ao resultado da simulação. Todavia, o atendimento aos pré-requisitos da envoltória fez com que todas as edificações avaliadas pelo método prescritivo fossem rebaixadas dos níveis A e B para os níveis de eficiência C e E. Além disso, a substituição dos parâmetros transmitância térmica e absortância solar nos fechamentos de paredes e coberturas em nenhum momento resultou em um nível de eficiência inferior a B. Dessa forma, observa-se que, para edificações com alta densidade de potência instalada da zona bioclimática 2, os pré-requisitos específicos da envoltória não se mostraram em conformidade com o consumo energético resultante das avaliações devendo, portanto, serem revistos.

Muitas dessas edificações, construídas com fim residencial, continuam sendo usadas e mantêm suas características arquitetônicas mesmo com o passar do tempo. Como forma de incentivar o uso de edificações históricas, pelas mais variadas atividades, uma hipótese a ser verificada é a possibilidade de bom desempenho termoenergético. Esta dissertação tem como objetivo avaliar o comportamento termoenergético de uma edificação histórica com novo uso localizada no centro da cidade de Pelotas, bem como verificar os efeitos de possíveis medidas corretivas para o aumento dos níveis de conforto térmico e também de eficiência energética. Trata-se da Residência do Charqueador José Vieira Vianna, situada na Praça Coronel Pedro Osório, número 2, que hoje é ocupada pela Secretaria Municipal de Cultura. Para tanto, o método de pesquisa foi dividido em sete etapas: caracterização do objeto; configuração do modelo e simulação do caso base; proposição de 64 medidas corretivas; simulação dos 65 modelos; análise de desempenho térmico; análise da eficiência energética; avaliação econômica das medidas corretivas. A ferramenta de avaliação escolhida é o software de simulação computacional DesignBuilder (versão 3.0.0.105). As avaliações de desempenho térmico consideram o modelo adaptativo de De Dear e Brager para a ASHRAE Standard – 55 (2010). A eficiência energética foi analisada por graus-hora e pelo RTQ-C – Regulamento Técnico de Qualidade do Nível de Eficiência Energética de Edifícios Comerciais, de Serviços e Públicos – método de simulação de edificação totalmente ventilada. O modelo original obteve conforto térmico em 69,50% das horas ocupadas, para 80% de aceitabilidade. Na avaliação de eficiência energética, ele obteve 333 graus-hora para aquecimento e 1.587 graus-hora para resfriamento, também para as horas ocupadas. Pelo RTQ-C, a avaliação para edificação totalmente ventilada considerou o POC (percentual de horas ocupadas em conforto) e o EqNumDPI (equivalente numérico de densidade de potência de iluminação) para a verificação do nível de eficiência, que resultou em uma pontuação total de 3,34, Nível C. As 64 propostas de melhoria simuladas obtiveram resultados variando de melhor a pior em comparação à edificação original, sendo que apenas a melhoria no sistema de iluminação já elevou a edificação original para o nível B. A melhor proposta, de número 03 – cobertura clara isolada e paredes originais –, obteve classificação de eficiência energética nível A, com 79,43% das horas ocupadas, dos ambientes de permanência prolongada, dentro dos limites aceitáveis de conforto. Ela é avaliada e comparada à edificação original quanto à questão econômica, o pay-back simples e o custo de energia economizada são verificados. The city of Pelotas is considered as heritage of Rio Grande do Sul State with its amount of eclectic style buildings that resemble wealth times resulting from the economy based on the trade of jerky beef. Many of these buildings, which were built for residential purpose, are still being used and have kept their architectural features over time. In order of encourage the use of historic buildings, for several activities, one hypothesis that should be verified is the potential god thermal energy performance. This dissertation aims to assess the thermal energy behavior of a historic building with new use located in downtown of the city of Pelotas, such as to verify the effects of potential corrective measures to increase thermal comfort and energy efficiency levels. The building in study is the old Residence of Charqueador José Vieira Vianna, also known as House 2. Located at Coronel Pedro Osório Square, number 2, it is nowadays, the address of the Municipal Department of Culture. For both, the research method was divided in seven steps: characterization of the object, configuration of the model and simulation of the base case, proposition of 64 corrective measures, simulation of 65 models, analysis of thermal performance, analysis of energy efficiency, economic evaluation of the corrective measures. The chosen evaluation tool is the computer simulation software DesignBuilder (version 3.0.0.105). Evaluations of thermal performance consider the adaptive model of De Dear and Brager for ASHRAE Standard – 55 (2010). The energy efficiency was analyzed by degree-hours and by RTQ-C – Technical regulation of quality of energy efficiency level of commercial, service and public buildings – natural ventilated building simulation method. The original model obtained thermal comfort in 69,50% of the occupied hours, for 80% of acceptability. For energy efficiency analysis it obtained 333 degree-hours for heating and 1.587 degree-hours for cooling, also for occupied hours. For RTQ-C, the evaluation for natural ventilated building considered POC (percentage of occupied hours within comfort) for the verification of the efficiency level, that resulted in a total score of 3,34, C level. The 64 simulated improvement proposals obtained results varying from better to worse, comparing to the original building, whereas the improvement of the lighting system already raised the original building to B level. The best proposal, number 03 – white insulated roof and original walls –, obtained energy efficiency classification level A, with 79,43% of the occupied hours within acceptable comfort limits. It is evaluated and compared to the original building, as for economic issue, where simple payback and cost of saved energy are verified.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior The use of solar energy in buildings, to improve the comfort environmental conditions implies in the reduction of energy consumption. Since this is a clean, renewable and abundant energy, the use of design strategies that use the sun's energy makes the buildings more sustainable. This study aimed to develop a combined system that captures solar energy on the roof of buildings, then using this energy in two different purposes. A fraction of this power is used for heating water, and the other portion is destined for building thermal conditioning in cold periods, through a heating system that inflating the heated air. First of all, it was defined a preproject of the combined system, considering the constraints of the project and analyzed the appropriated materials and their thermal characteristics that would be used in various parts of the system. Based on this pre-design and review of the literature was possible to develop a mathematical model to evaluate the applicability of the system in the climate it was proposed, which was performed considering the July's climatic data. The results obtained shows that the heating subsystem could elevate the temperature within the residence up to 7 ° C at most, and for about 30% of hours to let the building's temperature achieved thermal comfort. In the water heating Subsystem, in the month of July, the temperature increased by 5.5 ° C and in the months of December, January, February and March the water temperature exceeds 35 ° C, we can consider that the hot water demand in these months is met without the use of electricity. Considering the month adopted as July, a month with limited solar irradiance of the year, for study pourpose, this combined system showed positive results, which will also improve for other months of the year. O aproveitamento da energia solar em edificações, para melhoria das condições ambientais de conforto, implica na redução do consumo de energia elétrica. Considerando que essa é uma energia limpa, renovável e abundante, o uso de estratégias de projeto que utilizam da energia do sol torna as edificações mais sustentáveis. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo desenvolver um sistema combinado que faz a captação de energia solar no telhado das edificações, aplicando essa energia em dois propósitos diferentes. Uma fração dessa carga térmica é utilizada para o aquecimento da água de consumo, e outra parcela é destinada para o condicionamento térmico da edificação nos períodos frios, através de um sistema de calefação dos ambientes pelo insuflamento do ar aquecido. Foi definido primeiramente um pré-projeto do sistema combinado, sendo consideradas as condicionantes do projeto e analisados os materiais mais adequados quanto as suas características térmicas para utilização nas diversas partes do sistema. Baseado neste pré-projeto e na revisão de literatura foi possível desenvolver a modelagem matemática para avaliação da aplicabilidade do sistema para o clima para o qual foi proposto, a qual foi realizada considerando os dados climáticos do mês de julho. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que o subsistema de calefação conseguiu elevar a temperatura no interior da residência em até 7 oC no pico máximo, e durante aproximadamente 30% das horas conseguiu deixar a temperatura da edificação em conforto térmico. No subsistema de aquecimento de água, para o mês de julho, a temperatura aumentou em 5,5 oC, nos meses de dezembro, janeiro, fevereiro e março a temperatura da água ultrapassa os 35 oC, podemos considerar, que a demanda de água quente, nesses meses seja suprida sem o uso de energia elétrica. Considerando que o mês adotado é julho, mês com irradiância solar mais limitada do ano, para a região do estudo, o sistema combinado proposto apresentou resultados positivos, os quais vão ainda melhorar para os outros meses do ano.

This paper analyzes the influence of the penetration of solar radiation through the transparent closure in consumption of energy for conditioning of the office buildings in the region of Santa Maria-RS, located in the bioclimatic Brazilian zone 2. To do this, simulations were performed in the computational program Design Builder, in a typical office environment in order to evaluate the comparative results obtained with the use of different types of glass (Solar Factor) by different percentages of area of windows and surface guidelines. The glasses used had solar factor ranging from 0.85, 0.70, 0.56 and 0.29, an opening percentage area of 20%, 50% and 80%, while the solar orientation ranged from 0° to 315° at an interval of 45°. It was observed that for the climate of the city of Santa Maria-RS, considering the daytime use of the building, the consumption of energy for cooling process has higher values compared to the heating and that this difference is directly proportional to the solar factor of the glass and the percentage of openings in the facade. Changes that contribute to a reduction of one of these lead to an increased consumption of the other, these should be analyzed jointly in the process of defining the openings, in order to obtain the lowest annual energy consumption. The simulations indicated higher expenditure of energy with heating on the facades oriented to the south, southeast, and southwest, while the higher cost for cooling occurred on facades oriented to the north, northeast, northwest, regardless of the solar factor or percentages of openings in façade. It was observed that, when established constructive guidelines regarding apertures in construction performance standards for buildings, should be considered together the percentage of area openings, Factor Solar glass and solar orientation of the facade, as the exchanges of heat and entry lighting are naturally associated with these factors in an integrated manner. Este trabalho analisa a influência da radiação solar que penetra pelos fechamentos transparentes no consumo de energia para climatização de edifícios de escritório na região de Santa Maria RS, situado na zona bioclimática 2 brasileira. Para isso, foram realizadas simulações no programa computacional Design Builder, em um ambiente típico de escritório, visando avaliar comparativamente os resultados obtidos com o uso de diferentes tipos de vidro (Fator Solar), mediante diferentes percentuais de área de janelas e orientações de fachada. Os vidros utilizados têm valores de Fator Solar variando de 0.85, 0.70, 0.56 e 0.29, o percentual de área de abertura de 20%, 50% e 80%, enquanto a orientação solar variou de 0° a 315°, com intervalo de 45°. Foi observado, para o clima da cidade de Santa Maria-RS, considerando-se o uso diurno do edifício, que o consumo de energia para resfriamento apresenta valores mais elevados em relação ao aquecimento, e que esta diferença é diretamente proporcional ao Fator Solar do vidro e ao percentual de aberturas na fachada. Mudanças que colaboram para a redução de um destes consumos levam ao aumento do outro, devendo-se analisá-los de forma conjunta, no processo de definição das aberturas, para que se obtenha o menor consumo anual de energia. As simulações indicaram maiores gastos de energia com aquecimento nas fachadas orientadas para sul, sudeste e sudoeste, enquanto os maiores gastos com resfriamento ocorrem com fachadas orientadas a norte, nordeste e noroeste, independente do Fator Solar do vidro ou do percentual de aberturas na fachada. Foi observado que, ao serem estabelecidas diretrizes construtivas referentes a aberturas em normas de desempenho de edificações, devem ser considerados conjuntamente o percentual de área de aberturas, o Fator Solar do vidro e a orientação solar da fachada, pois as trocas de calor e entrada de iluminação natural estão associadas a estes fatores de forma integrada.
