Relying on multi-hop communication techniques, aeronautical ad hoc networks (AANETs) seamlessly integrate ground base stations (BSs) and satellites into aircraft communications for enhancing the on-demand connectivity of planes in the air. In this integrated AANET context we investigate the shortest-path routing problem with the objective of minimizing the total delay of the in-flight connection from the ground BS subject to certain minimum-rate constraints for all selected links in support of low-latency and high-speed services. Inspired by the best-first search and priority queue concepts, we model the problem formulated by a weighted digraph and find the optimal route based on the shortest-path algorithm. Objective: We propose an end-to-end CNN-based locating model for pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis in radiographs. This model makes full use of chest radiograph (X-ray) for its improved accessibility, reduced cost and high accuracy for TB disease. Methods: Several specialized improvements are proposed for detection task in medical field. A false positive (FP) restrictor head is introduced for FP reduction. Anchor-oriented network heads is proposed in the position regression section. An optimization of loss function is designed for hard example mining. Results: The experimental results show that when the threshold of intersection over union (IoU) is set to 0.3, the average precision (AP) of two test data sets provided by different hospitals reaches 0.9023 and 0.9332. Ablation experiments shows that hard example mining and change of regressor heads contribute most in this work, but FP restriction is necessary in a CAD diagnose system. Conclusion: The results prove the high precision and good generalization ability of our proposed model comparing to previous works. Significance: We first make full use of the feature extraction ability of CNNs in TB diagnostic field and make exploration in localization of TB, when the previous works focus on the weaker task of healthy-sick subject classification.

With the proliferation of latency-critical applications, fog-radio network (FRAN) has been envisioned as a paradigm shift enabling distributed deployment of cloud-clone facilities at the network edge. In this paper, we consider proactive caching for a one-user one-access point (AP) fog computing system over a finite time horizon, in which consecutive tasks of the same type of application are temporarily correlated. Under the assumption of predicable length of the task-input bits, we formulate a long-term weighted-sum energy minimization problem with three-slot correlation to jointly optimize computation offloading policies and caching decisions subject to stringent per-slot deadline constraints. The formulated problem is hard to solve due to the mixed-integer non-convexity. To tackle this challenge, first, we assume that task-related information are perfectly known {\em a priori}, and provide offline solution leveraging the technique of semi-definite relaxation (SDR), thereby serving as theoretical upper bound. Next, based on the offline solution, we propose a sliding-window based online algorithm under arbitrarily distributed prediction error. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are capable of serving as aerial base stations (BSs) for providing both cost-effective and on-demand wireless communications. This article investigates dynamic resource allocation of multiple UAVs enabled communication networks with the goal of maximizing long-term rewards. More particularly, each UAV communicates with a ground user by automatically selecting its communicating users, power levels and subchannels without any information exchange among UAVs. To model the uncertainty of environments, we formulate the long-term resource allocation problem as a stochastic game for maximizing the expected rewards, where each UAV becomes a learning agent and each resource allocation solution corresponds to an action taken by the UAVs. Afterwards, we develop a multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) framework that each agent discovers its best strategy according to its local observations using learning. More specifically, we propose an agent-independent method, for which all agents conduct a decision algorithm independently but share a common structure based on Q-learning. Finally, simulation results reveal that: 1) appropriate parameters for exploitation and exploration are capable of enhancing the performance of the proposed MARL based resource allocation algorithm; 2) the proposed MARL algorithm provides acceptable performance compared to the case with complete information exchanges among UAVs. This paper investigates the application of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in millimeter wave (mmWave) communications by exploiting beamforming, user scheduling and power allocation. Random beamforming is invoked for reducing the feedback overhead of considered systems. A nonconvex optimization problem for maximizing the sum rate is formulated, which is proved to be NP-hard. The branch and bound (BB) approach is invoked to obtain the optimal power allocation policy, which is proved to converge to a global optimal solution. To elaborate further, low complexity suboptimal approach is developed for striking a good computational complexity-optimality tradeoff, where matching theory and successive convex approximation (SCA) techniques are invoked for tackling the user scheduling and power allocation problems, respectively. Simulation results reveal that: i) the proposed low complexity solution achieves a near-optimal performance; and ii) the proposed mmWave NOMA systems is capable of outperforming conventional mmWave orthogonal multiple access (OMA) systems in terms of sum rate and the number of served users., Comment: Submitted for possible publication

For the nonsymmetric saddle point problems with nonsymmetric positive definite (1,1) parts, the modified generalized shift-splitting (MGSSP) preconditioner as well as the MGSSP iteration method are derived in this paper, which generalize the MSSP preconditioner and the MSSP iteration method newly developed by Huang and Su (J. Comput. Appl. Math. 2017), respectively. The convergent and semi-convergent analysis of the MGSSP iteration method are presented, and we prove that this method is unconditionally convergent and semi-convergent. In addition, some spectral properties of the preconditioned matrix are carefully analyzed. Numerical results demonstrate the robustness and effectiveness of the MGSSP preconditioner and the MGSSP iteration method, and also illustrate that the MGSSP iteration method outperforms the GSS and GMSS iteration methods, and the MGSSP preconditioner is superior to the shift-splitting (SS), generalized SS (GSS), modified SS (MSS) and generalized MSS (GMSS) preconditioners for the GMRES method for solving the nonsymmetric saddle point problems., Comment: 29 pages, 5 figures, 6 tables

A new \emph{S}-type eigenvalue localization set for tensors is derived by breaking $N=\{1,2,\cdots,n\}$ into disjoint subsets $S$ and its complement. It is proved that this new set is tighter than those presented by Qi (Journal of Symbolic Computation 40 (2005) 1302-1324), Li et al. (Numer. Linear Algebra Appl. 21 (2014) 39-50) and Li et al. (Linear Algebra Appl. 493 (2016) 469-483). As applications, checkable sufficient conditions for the positive definiteness and the positive semi-definiteness of tensors are proposed. Moreover, based on this new set, we establish a new upper bound for the spectral radius of nonnegative tensors and a lower bound for the minimum \emph{H}-eigenvalue of weakly irreducible strong \emph{M}-tensors in this paper. We demonstrate that these bounds are sharper than those obtained by Li et al. (Numer. Linear Algebra Appl. 21 (2014) 39-50) and He and Huang (J. Inequal. Appl. 114 (2014) 2014).
