With more and more data buoys are produced to study the oceans, how to deploy them in a convenient and economic way is very important. In the past, the deployment is often accomplished by large special vessel, which needs a lot of manpower and material resources. Here we introduce a novel deploying method for moored data buoy based on small vessel. This method employs a small vessel with two pulleys(one is served as movable pulley, the other is stable pulley.) and a winch. By way of the relay, it drops all the mooring chain into the water step by step. At last, the anchor is made into ocean water. After several experiments inspection, this anchor-last deploying method for moored data buoy is safe and efficient.

In this paper, how to integrate Sentry™ Visibility sensor with Campbell Scientific CR1000 series data loggers is described. The CR1000 is the product of Campbell Scientific, which provides precision measurement capabilities in a rugged, battery-operated package. It consists of a measurement and control module and a wiring panel. Standard operating range is -25°C to+50°C and it is widely used to get data. SVS1 Sentry™ Visibility Sensor measures atmospheric visibility (meteorological optical range) by determining the amount of light scattered by particles (smoke, dust, haze, fog, rain, and snow) in the air that pass through the optical sample volume. The detailed integration steps between the data logger CR1000 and SVS1 Sentry™ Visibility Sensor is given. The steps include: 1) establish communication with SVS1 Sentry Visibility sensor via RS-232 port of PC: 2) write down the instrument communication parameter settings. 3) make necessary electrical and data line connections to data logger. 4) program the data logger to acquire data from Sentry™ Visibility Sensor. Practice proves that the acquisition method is feasible.

China offshore marine observation station of Chinese academy of sciences consists of dozens of marine observation buoy system, which are spread in China's offshore to obtain the long-term continuous oceanographic elements. In order to get the real-time understanding of marine dynamic change information, the observed data need to be translated back on time to the terrestrial laboratory and the scientists can analyze them. By the communication way of general packet radio service(GPRS), code division multiple access(CDMA) and “Beidou” satellite, a large range of data transmission network of covering China offshore area is formed and the real-time observation data and the buoy state information is transmitted to ground-based data station. In ground-based station, the data received software is compiled and installed, which make the data are received and displayed. In addition, in order to better use the data, original database is needed and the primary data products are formed. At the same time network information release, establish data sharing mechanism. It is mature database software, established the real-time database and delay database, they have abundant data query function, but were established based on the Internet data information release and communication system, to scientists and government decision makers, fishery breeding personnel and the public users provide different levels of data information products for its service, and provide an exchange platform.

Gene expression profiles between submergence rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) varieties, tolerant FR13A and sensitive IR39595-503-2-1-2, under submergence stress were identified using differential display reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (DDRT-PCR). A total of 1428 bands were amplified with 40 pairs of primers, of which 102 were significantly different between the two lines. The differential display ratio was 7.1%. Among 42 differential display bands derived from the submergence tolerant variety, the expression of seven fragments was confirmed by Northern blot analysis. The analysis of their sequences indicated that four of them showed high homology with genes related to a water stress response: genes encoding ATP-binding protein, isocitrate dehydrogenase, NADH dehydrogenase and terminal acetyltransferase, respectively. The remaining three fragments were novel cDNA fragments.

Backscattering signal from water column obtained by oceanographic Lidar is a decaying exponential function of the Lidar attenuation coefficient (Kidar). Thus Kidar can be used to derive optical properties of water. But, according to the traditional oceanographic Lidar theory, Klidar measured under single field of view (FOV) cannot be used to effectively estimate parameters of optical properties due to the deficiency of Lidar equation. However, recent studies show that multiple-scattering analysis under different FOVs is a promising way to compensate this deficiency. Therefore, an approach using an oceanographic Lidar with variable FOV has become a potential way to measure optical properties of water. In this paper, three major parts are presented. Firstly, a shipboard oceanographic Lidar system with variable FOV designed for detecting the optical property parameters of water is introduced. Secondly, on the basis of oceanographic Lidar model developed by Walker and McLean, a practical algorithm is derived to estimate the optical property parameters of water, including a (absorption coefficient), b (scattering coefficient) and Kd (diffuse attenuation coefficient). In addition, the Lidar system has be used to carry out several experiments for measuring these optical property parameters of water. Experimental analysis verifies the feasibility of measuring multiple optical properties of seawater by the Lidar with variable FOV.

Context Undifferentiated (spindle cell) carcinomas of the pancreas are rare anaplastic variants of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma with a frequency of 2% of pancreatic exocrine tumors. Their clinicopathological features are limited and obtained by few previously case reports. We report a case of undifferentiated pancreatic carcinoma with a rare focal osteochondroid differentiation. Case report A sixty-six-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital for abdominal pain and nonspecific nausea for almost 40 days. Imaging studies revealed a well-defined cystic–solid mass with heterogeneous density involving the tail of the pancreas. We performed an en bloc distal pancreatectomy with splenectomy for radical excision, as well as regional lymphadenectomy. The resected specimen revealed a 4.0×5.0 cm exophytic clear-bordered neoplasm of the tail of the pancreas containing necrotic and calcified areas, without splenic invasion. The lymph node involvement was not detected (0/5) and the surgical margins were negative. Microscopy showed pleomorphism with giant cells, spindle-shaped cells with anaplasia, and osteochondroid differentiation. A diagnosis of undifferentiated (spindle cell) carcinoma of the pancreas with focal osteochondroid differentiation was made. The patient declined chemotherapy and extended lymphadenectomy. She suffered from liver and lymph nodes metastasis 9 months after surgery, and she subsequently died 4 months later due to high tumor burden. Conclusions Undifferentiated pancreatic carcinoma with osteochondroid differentiation is rare but associated with extremely poor prognosis. The central goal of lightning protection to power lines is to determine whether the device can meet the requirements under current environment with fixed parameters in geography, weather and the device itself. This paper presents models of regional distributions of ground flash densities with different geographical environments, models of thunderstorm day statistics based on the time periods and statistical models of intensity distribution of lightning currents. A model of decision-making supporting for lightning protection is made based on multidimensional decision analysis. Through the design of software platform for validation, the model and its technical method have been proved satisfying the requirements of lightning early warning of lines and the parameters of lightning protection when designing the lines.
