Abstract

Using ERA5 reanalysis data of ECMWF and the ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission line icing observation system to analyze the meteorological conditions of conductor icing in Guizhou from January 24 to 29, 2018, Results show: The weather conditions for this icing event are that the temperature drops below 0°C, there is weak rainfall, and the humidity is generally between 95% and 100%; the direction is mainly northerly wind, with wind speed of 2~6m/s; the air pressure rises. The meteorological elements that are more relevant to icing are environmental temperature, air pressure, and precipitation. The relationship with wind speed and relative humidity is small.

Abstract

By inducing periodic gaps, conventional automated fiber placement avoids overlap defects, which are generally prohibited in composite component manufacturing. However, bistable laminates are highly sensitive to imperfections, and it is critical to explore the effect of periodic gaps on the performance of bistable laminates. The principal curvatures and load–displacement curves of thermoplastic composite laminates with manually embedded periodic gaps was studied using experimental and numerical methods in this paper. SEM microscopy was used to observe the gap areas of the cross section of laminates to assess the microstructure of gaps with width variations after curing. In addition, a numerical method was proposed based on the experimentally determined evolution of gap widths and thicknesses of laminate. Subsequently, the effects of gap width, single‐layer thickness, and total thickness on the principal curvature were investigated. Gaps embedded in the 0° and 90° layers of bistable laminates demonstrated a substantial decrease in the snap load of the laminates. Interestingly, by embedding different gap widths in the 0° layers of the laminates, the snap load discrepancy between the snap‐through and snap‐back processes increased as the gap width widened, and the same trend was also found in the curvatures in the two stable states. Abstract

Many plants associate with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi for nutrient acquisition, while legumes also associate with nitrogen-fixing rhizobial bacteria. Both associations rely on symbiosis signaling and here we show that cereals can perceive lipochitooligosaccharides (LCOs) for activation of symbiosis signaling, surprisingly including Nod factors produced by nitrogen-fixing bacteria. However, legumes show stringent perception of specifically decorated LCOs, that is absent in cereals. LCO perception in plants is activated by nutrient starvation, through transcriptional regulation of Nodulation Signaling Pathway (NSP)1 and NSP2. These transcription factors induce expression of an LCO receptor and act through the control of strigolactone biosynthesis and the karrikin-like receptor DWARF14-LIKE. We conclude that LCO production and perception is coordinately regulated by nutrient starvation to promote engagement with mycorrhizal fungi. Our work has implications for the use of both mycorrhizal and rhizobial associations for sustainable productivity in cereals.
