Primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNET) are rare malignant tumors, but the mortality rate of the patients is extremely high. The aim of this study was to identify the hub genes and pathways involved in the pathogenesis of PNET and to screen the potential small molecule drugs for PNET. We extracted gene expression profiles from the Gene Expression Omnibus database and identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) through Limma package in R. Two expression profiles (GSE14295 and GSE74195) were downloaded, including 33 and 5 cases separately. Four hundred sixty-eight DEGs (161 upregulated; 307 downregulated) were identified. Functional annotation and KEGG pathway enrichment of the DEGs were performed using DAVID and Kobas. Gene Ontology analysis showed the significantly enriched Gene Ontology terms included but not limited to mitosis, nuclear division, cytoskeleton, synaptic vesicle, syntaxin binding, and GABA A receptor activity. Cancer-related signaling pathways, such as DNA replication, cell cycle, and synaptic vesicle cycle, were found to be associated with these genes. Subsequently, the STRING database and Cytoscape were utilized to construct a protein-protein interaction and screen the hub genes, and we identified 5 hub genes (including CCNB1, CDC20, KIF11, KIF2C, and MAD2L1) as the key biomarkers for PNET. Finally, we identified potential small molecule drugs through CMap. Seven small molecule compounds, including trichostatin A, luteolin, repaglinide, clomipramine, lorglumide, vorinostat, and resveratrol may become potential candidates for PNET drugs.

Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is the leading cause of low back pain (LBP). However, effective therapeutic drugs for IDD remain to be further explored. Inflammatory cytokines play a pivotal role in the onset and progression of IDD. Dihydroartemisinin (DHA) has been well reported to have powerful anti-inflammatory effects, but whether DHA could ameliorate the development of IDD remained unclear. In this study, the effects of DHA on extracellular matrix (ECM) metabolism and cellular senescence were firstly investigated in nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs) under tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα)-induced inflammation. Meanwhile, AKT agonist sc-79 was used to determine whether DHA exerted its actions through regulating PI3K/AKT and NF-κB signaling pathways. Next, the therapeutic effects of DHA were tested in a puncture-induced rat IDD model. Finally, we detected the activation of PI3K/AKT and NF-κB signaling pathways in clinical degenerative nucleus pulposus specimens. We demonstrated that DHA ameliorated the imbalance between anabolism and catabolism of extracellular matrix and alleviated NPCs senescence induced by TNFα in vitro. Further, we illustrated that DHA mitigated the IDD progression in a puncture-induced rat model. Mechanistically, DHA inhibited the activation of PI3K/AKT and NF-κB signaling pathways induced by TNFα, which was undermined by AKT agonist sc-79. Molecular docking predicted that DHA bound to the PI3K directly. Intriguingly, we also verified the activation of PI3K/AKT and NF-κB signaling pathways in clinical degenerative nucleus pulposus specimens, suggesting that DHA may qualify itself as a promising drug for mitigating IDD.

Flexspline frictional degradation causes failure of harmonic drives. This study focused on the improvement of the flexspline tribological properties. Flexspline material 40Cr was modified with a robust polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) coating. Etched and chemically modified films were utilized to enhance the organic PDMS coating-substrate link strength. Comparing modified and unmodified 40Cr, the surface friction coefficient decreased by 82.2%. Moreover, the modified 40Cr exhibited excellent load-bearing properties. The effects of speed and lubricant-coating interaction on the tribological properties were verified. This study provides an essential theoretical basis for improving the tribological performance of harmonic drives via soft coating modification.

Background: Psychotic depression (PD) and schizophrenia (SCZ) are disorders with shared symptoms but unique causes, development, and treatments. Identifying them based on symptoms is difficult, requiring deeper comprehension of cognitive and neural mechanisms for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Aim: This study aims to compare cognitive impairments and brain functional activities in PD and SCZ, in order to identify unique features of each disorder. Methods: We studied 42 PD and 30 SCZ patients using RBANS and rs-fMRI. We computed ReHo values from the rs-fMRI data and compared RBANS scores between groups. We also investigated the correlation between cognition and brain function using Pearson analysis. Results: (1) SC group had lower RBANS scores than PD group in all test sections; (2) Left precuneus had significant ReHo difference between PD and SC groups, with SCZ group showing significantly increased ReHo (p < 0.05); (3) Negative correlation found between visuospatial construction score, delayed memory score and ReHo value of left precuneus by Pearson correlation analysis. conclusion: Cognitive impairment is more severe in SCZ than PD. Elevated left precuneus activity distinguishes PD from SCZ and relates to cognitive deficits in both, offering neuroimaging evidence for differential diagnosis and insight into cognitive impairment pathology.

Ti3C2Tx provides in situ nucleation sites for hollow Co3V2O8 nanospheres while achieve its own evolution from 2D to 3D. The as-made hollow core-shelled Co3V2O8@Ti3C2Tx shows a high reversible capacity and prolonged cycling stability.

Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC)-based cytotherapy has attracted substantial attention over recent years as a promising therapeutic approach for ALI/ARDS; however, its use remains limited due to inconsistent efficacy. Currently, gene modification techniques are widely applied to MSCs. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the effect of BMSCs overexpressing Homeobox B4 (HOXB4) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced EC injury.Methods: We used LPS to induce EC injury and established EC-BMSC coculture system using transwell chambers. The effect of BMSCs on ECs was explored by detecting EC proliferation, apoptosis, migration, tube formation, and permeability, and determining whether the Wnt/β-catenin pathway is involved in the regulatory mechanism using XAV-939, inhibitor of Wnt/ β-catenin.Results: As compared to BMSCWT, BMSCHOXB4 coculture promoted EC proliferation, migration, and tube formation after LPS stimulation and attenuated LPS-induced EC apoptosis and vascular permeability. Mechanistically, BMSCHOXB4 coculture prevented LPS-induced EC injury by activating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, which is partially reversible by XAV-939. When cocultured with BMSCHOXB4, pro-inflammatory factors were dramatically decreased and anti-inflammatory factors were greatly increased in the EC medium compared to those in the LPS group (P< 0.05). Additionally, when compared to BMSCWT coculture, the BMSCHOXB4 coculture showed an enhanced modulation of IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-10, but there was no statistically significant effect on IL-1β and IL-4.Conclusion: Coculturing of BMSCHOXB4 prevented LPS-induced EC injury by reversing the inactivation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. An in vivo study remains warranted to ascertain whether engraftment of BMSCHOXB4 can be an attractive strategy for the treatment of ALI/ARDS.Keywords: acute lung injury, mesenchymal stem cells, endothelial cells, HOXB4

Aim The glycaemic control of diabetes with depression was inconsistent from randomized controlled studies. This meta-analysis aimed to explore the effectiveness of intervention methods in diabetes with depression. Methods This study systematically searched electronic databases (PubMed, EBSCO, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, and Cochrane) for studies published up to August 17, 2020. Standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95%CI were used to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions on HbA1c. Heterogeneity was estimated using the I2 statistic. Begg’s test was used to assess the possible publication bias among studies. Results Twelve studies of 2444 cases were included in this study. The overall SMD is −0.22 and 95%CI −0.33 to −0.10 in 0–6 months of intervention group. The I2 and P were 18.4% and 0.26. There are no publication bias tested (z = 0.37, P = 0.72). Conclusion Cognitive behavioral therapy and mindful self-compassion might be effective method to improve glycaemic control of diabetes with depression in 0–6 months.

Background Little is known about the implications of circRNAs in the effects of melatonin (MEL) on bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC) osteogenic differentiation and osteoporosis (OP) progression. The aim of our study was to investigate circRNAs in MEL-regulated BMSC differentiation and OP progression. Methods BMSC osteogenic differentiation was measured by qRT-PCR, western blot (WB), Alizarin Red, and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) staining. Differential circRNA and mRNA profiles of BMSCs treated by MEL were characterized by deep sequencing, followed by validation using RT-PCR, Sanger sequencing, and qRT-PCR. Silencing and overexpression of circ_0003865 were conducted for functional investigations. The sponged microRNAs and targeted mRNAs were predicted by bioinformatics and validated by qRT-PCR, RNA pull-down, and dual-luciferase reporter assay. The function of miR-3653-3p and circ_0003865/miR-3653-3p/growth arrest-specific gene 1 (GAS1) cascade was validated for the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs by CCK-8, qRT-PCR, WB, Alizarin Red, and ALP staining. The effects of circ_0003865 on OP development were tested in murine OP model. Results MEL promoted osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs. RNA sequencing revealed significant alterations in circRNA and mRNA profiles associated with multiple biological processes and signaling pathways. Circ_0003865 expression in BMSCs was significantly decreased by MEL treatment. Silencing of circ_0003865 had no effect on proliferation while promoted osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs. Overexpression of circ_0003865 abrogated the promotion of BMSC osteogenic differentiation induced by MEL, but proliferation of BMSCs induced by MEL had no change whether circ_0003865 was overexpression or not. Furthermore, circ_0003865 sponged miR-3653-3p to promote GAS1 expression in BMSCs. BMSC osteogenic differentiation was enhanced by miR-3653-3p overexpression while BMSC proliferation was not affected. By contrast, miR-3653-3p silencing mitigated the promoted BMSC osteogenic differentiation caused by circ_0003865 silencing, but had no effect on proliferation. Finally, circ_0003865 silencing repressed OP development in mouse model. Conclusion MEL promotes BMSC osteogenic differentiation and inhibits OP pathogenesis by suppressing the expression of circ_0003865, which regulates GAS1 gene expression via sponging miR-3653-3p.

Heterogeneous catalysts based on Hg are found to be highly active for the acetylene hydration reaction with a very high yield of acetaldehyde, but severe toxicity limits its application. Herein, HEDP was selected as a polydentate phosphonate ligand to synthesize novel green Cu-based catalysts by a simple impregnation method. The prepared catalyst with the best ratio of Cu/ligand of 1 : 1 and 4 wt% Cu loading can achieve >82.9% selectivity of the aldehyde with 99% conversion of acetylene after 8 h compared to the ligand-free catalyst. The effect of the ligand and the active component on the catalytic performance was evaluated in detail by several characterization methods. XRD, TPR, and HRTEM coupled with EDS analysis revealed that the introduction of HEDP could enhance the dispersion of Cu species and decrease the particle sizes of Cu. XPS indicated strong interaction of the coordination compound formed by the coordination of Cu2+ with HEDP molecules, which effectively inhibited the reduction of Cu ions during the reaction process. TGA revealed that this complex could inhibit the coking deposition produced during the reaction. The novel perspective will provide the potential of using HEDP as a metal chelating agent to stabilize the active components and increase the dispersion for the heterogeneous catalyst.

Atomically dispersed metal catalysts are promising candidates for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and for achieving efficient energy conversion. However, rational design of single atom catalysts (SACs) with high-efficiency ORR catalytic activity and superior stability is still crucial yet challenging. Herein, an in situ gas-foaming methodology is presented for constructing single Fe atoms dispersed on a N, S-codoped (FeSA/NSC) hierarchically ordered porous carbon (HOPC) framework via one-step pyrolysis of dopamine (DA)/Fe3+ complexes and thiourea in SBA-15 channels. HOPC structures (facilitating active site access and mass transfer) and optimized FeN4S2 catalytic centers make FeSA/NSC exhibit high ORR activity with a half-wave potential (E1/2) of 0.91 V, fuel selectivity and long-term stability (3 mV negative shift after 5000 potential cycles) in 0.1 M KOH. It even shows comparable ORR catalytic activity (E1/2 = 0.78 V) to the Pt/C catalyst in acidic electrolytes. As the air electrode in zinc–air batteries, FeSA/NSC demonstrates superior power density, long-term discharge stability and specific capacity to the commercial Pt/C catalyst. Thus, FeSA/NSC is a promising non-platinum-group metal ORR catalyst for the ORR and application in zinc–air batteries.

Nanoporous PdCu (NP-PdCu) was prepared by the dealloying strategy from a PdCuAl ternary alloy precursor and characterized systematically using SEM, TEM, XRD, and XPS. NP-PdCu was demonstrated to be a competent self-supported heterogenous catalyst for Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling, affording a series of synthetically valuable biaryl compounds in good to excellent yields. This catalyst could be easily separated from the product via centrifugation and reused several times without obvious loss of catalytic performance.

To study the role of lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1) in retinoblastoma (RB) growth and to determine whether the LSD1 inhibitor SP2509 can inhibit RB progression.We detected the levels of LSD1 in 12 RB tissue samples, two RB cell lines (Y79 and Weri-RB1), and a retinal pigment epithelium cell line (ARPE-19). Overexpression or knockdown of LSD1 was performed to examine the role of LSD1 in RB cancer cell survival. In vitro and in vivo experiments were conducted to detect the antitumor effect of SP2509, and the antitumor mechanism of SP2509 was examined by RNA sequencing and Western blot.LSD1 is overexpressed in RB tissues and cells and increases RB cancer cell viability and colony formation ability. The LSD1 inhibitor SP2509 inhibits RB cell proliferation in vitro and in vivo. Treatment with SP2509 increases the levels of dimethylated histone 3 lysine 4 (H3K4me2) and inhibits the expression of β-catenin signaling pathway-related proteins in RB cells.We demonstrated that LSD1 is overexpressed in RB cells and promotes RB cell survival. The LSD1 inhibitor SP2509 exerted strong growth inhibition in vitro and in vivo, which was at least partially mediated by suppression of the β-catenin pathway.

Background MicroRNAs (miRs) have been suggested to be biomarkers to inform the diagnosis of major depressive disorder (MDD). We have previously shown that exosome-derived miR-139-5p had potential in differentiating between patients with MDD and healthy control (HC) subjects. Materials and methods To validate the potential of exosome-derived miR-139-5p as a biomarker for MDD, here we recruited 30 patients with MDD and 30 HC subjects, and used TaqMan probes to detect serum exosomal miR-139-5p levels. Results The data showed that patients with MDD had significantly increased exosomal miR-139-5p levels when compared with controls. Correlation analysis suggested that sex, age, and body mass index did not significantly affect blood exosomal miR-139-5p levels in the tested subjects. The ROC curve showed that serum-derived miR-139-5p had reasonable performance in discriminating patients with MDD and HC subjects, with a sensitivity of 0.867 and specificity of 0.767, and the AUC was 0.807. Discussion Taken together, these results demonstrated that patients with MDD were accompanied by significantly increased blood exosomal miR-139-5p levels, and exosomal miR-139-5p is a promising biomarker for the diagnosis of MDD.

Electrocatalytic water splitting via hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) represents one of promising strategies to gain hydrogen energy. In current work, self-supporting Co0.85Se nanosheets network anchored on Co plate (Co0.85Se NSs@Co) is fabricated by employing easily tailorable Co metal plate as the source conductive substrate. The scalable dealloying and hydrothermal selenization strategy was employed to build one layer of three dimensional interlinking Co0.85Se nanosheets network on the surface of Co plate. Benefiting from bulky integrated architecture and rich active sites, the as-made Co0.85Se NSs@Co exhibits superior electrocatalytic activity and long-term catalytic durability toward HER. It only requires lower overpotentials of 121 and 162 mV to drive the current density of 10 mA·cm−2 for hydrogen evolution in 0.5 M H2SO4 and 1 M KOH solution. Especially, no evident activity decay occurs upon 1,500 cycles or continuous test for 20 h at 10 mA·cm−2 in both acidic and alkaline electrolytes. With the merits of exceptional performances, scalable production, and low cost, the self-supporting Co0.85Se NSs@Co holds prospective application potential as stable and binder-free electrocatalysts for hydrogen generation in a wide range of electrolyte.

In this study, obvious up-conversion emission peaks centred at 553 nm and 696 nm were investigated in transparent Ho3+ and Tm3+ co-doped lead lanthanum zirconate titanate (PLZT) ceramics. Temperature dependent visible up-conversion emission and mid-infrared photoluminescence at approximately 2.0 μm were studied, and obvious luminous color modulation from yellow-green to red was observed. Energy transfer between Ho3+ and Tm3+ ions was studied by analyzing the suppression and enhancement of the emission peaks. Moreover, random lasing emission peaks at 1.95 μm were achieved with a full width at half maximum of 5 nm, which was desirable for developing mid-infrared lasers in ceramics materials.

Hierarchical nitrogen-doped carbon encapsulated hollow ZnSe/CoSe2 (ZnSe/CoSe2@N-C) nanospheres are fabricated by a convenient solvothermal and selenization approach, followed by a carbonization process. The as-obtained ZnSe/CoSe2@N-C possesses a multilevel nanoscale architecture composed of a thin carbon shell with a size of around 12 nm and hollow selenide nanoparticles as the core with tiny rough grains and rich voids as the subunits. The robust carbon protective shell and synergistic effect between double metal ions boost the electron and ion transportation as well as promote effective extraction and insertion of lithium ions. Hollow ZnSe/CoSe2@N-C spheres show high reversible capacity with 1153 mA h g-1 remaining over 100 cycles at 100 mA g-1. In particular, the hollow ZnSe/CoSe2@N-C spheres show an outstanding cycling stability at a high rate of 2000 mA g-1 with the reversible capacity of up to 966 mA h g-1 remaining after 500 cycles. As an advanced anode, ZnSe/CoSe2@N-C composite shows remarkable cycling stability and exceptional rate capability in the field of energy storage technologies.

Background Patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) usually manifest sleep disturbance. Early morning awakening is more closely related to MDD than other sleep disturbances. Aim The aim of this study was to assess the effect of early morning awakening in the treatment of patients with MDD. Methods Eligible patients were randomly assigned into two groups: early morning awakening and non-early morning awakening group. All patients were assessed using Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), and Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) scores at baseline and the fourth week. Results Twenty-one men and 31 women (mean age 25.13 ±10.67 years) were enrolled. There is a significant main effect of early morning awakening in HAMD (P =0.04) and HAMA (P =0.01) at fourth week after escitalopram treatment. Discussion This trial suggests that early morning awakening may result in statistically and clinically significant delay in the recovery of the MDD but cognitive impairment.

Morinda officinalis (MO) is a herb used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for the treatment of osteoporosis. M13, a MO-based anthraquinone compound is known to suppress osteoclast activity. However, whether M13 promotes MSCs osteogenic differentiation and its potential mechanism remains unknown.To examine the influence of M13 on MSCs proliferation and osteogenic differentiation and elucidate the underlying mechanism.The effect of M13 exposure on MSCs proliferation was assessed via CCK8 assay, clone formation assay, immunofluorescence, RT-qPCR, and Western blot. The M13-mediated osteogenesis in vitro and ex vivo were evaluated via ALP and Alizarin red S staining, osteogenesis-associated gene (Runx2, Col1a1 and Opn) expression, and fetal limb explants culture. Molecular docking was employed for target signal pathway screening. The potential signaling mechanisms of M13-promoted MSCs osteogenic differentiation were analyzed by introducing XAV939 (Wnt/β-catenin signaling inhibitor).M13 induced certain obvious positive effects on MSCs proliferation and osteogenic differentiation. Treatment with M13 enhanced MSCs viability and clone numbers. Meanwhile, M13 promoted osteogenic gene expression, enhanced ALP intensity and Alizarin red S staining in MSCs. In terms of mechanism, M13 strongly interacted with the docking site of the WNT signaling complex, thereby activating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway. Furthermore, the M13-mediated osteogenic effect was partially inhibited by XAV939 both in vitro and ex vivo, which confirmed that the Wnt/β-catenin axis is a critical regulator of M13-induced osteogenic differentiation of MSCs.Our study elucidated for the first time that M13 significantly promoted osteogenic differentiation of MSCs via stimulation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway in vitro and ex vivo.Our findings offered new additional evidence to support the MO or M13-based therapy of osteoporosis.

The lead compound acridone derivative 8a showed potent antiproliferative activity by inducing DNA damage through direct stacking with DNA bases and triggering ROS in CCRF-CEM cells. To define the chromatin alterations during DNA damage sensing and repair, a detailed quantitative map of single and coexisting histone post-translational modifications (PTMs) in CCRF-CEM cells affected by 8a was performed by the Data Independent Acquisition (DIA) method on QE-plus. A total of 79 distinct and 164 coexisting histone PTMs were quantified, of which 16 distinct histone PTMs were significantly altered when comparing 8a-treated cells with vehicle control cells. The changes in histone PTMs were confirmed by Western blotting analysis for three H3 and one H4 histone markers. The up-regulated dimethylation on H3K9, H3K36, and H4K20 implied that CCRF-CEM cells might accelerate DNA damage repair to counteract the DNA lesion induced by 8a, which was verified by an increment in the 53BP1 foci localization at the damaged DNA. Most of the significantly altered PTMs were involved in transcriptional regulation, including down-regulated acetylation on H3K18, H3K27, and H3K122, and up-regulated di- and trimethylation on H3K9 and H3K27. This transcription-silencing phenomenon was associated with G2/M cell cycle arrest after 8a treatment by flow cytometry. This study shows that the DIA proteomics strategy provides a sensitive and accurate way to characterize the coexisting histone PTMs changes and their cross-talk in CCRF-CEM cells after 8a treatment. Specifically, histone PTMs rearrange transcription-silencing, and cell cycle arrest DNA damage repair may contribute to the mechanism of epigenetic response affected by 8a.

Background The incidence rate of obesity has been increasing steadily year by year, and it is a serious worldwide public health problem，especially for people with mental disorders.Aim To explore the related factors of obesity by analyzing the metabolic indexes of patients with common mental disorders in stable stage. Methods 576 subjects with major depressive disorder (MDD), bipolar disorder (BD) or schizophrenia (SCZ) were included, who received fixed drug dose and routine drug treatment for 2 years or more. Their venous blood was collected, and the blood metabolic indexes were analyzed. Results BD and SCZ are more prone to obesity than MDD. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the value of BMI increased with the increase of age(B = 0.084, p < 0.001), TG(B = 0.355, p = 0.024), LDL(B = 0.697, p < 0.001), LDH(B = 0.011, p = 0.002), SCr(B = 0.051, p < 0.001), UA(B = 0.014, p < 0.001), HbA1c(B = 0.702, p = 0.004) and hsCRP(B = 0.101, p < 0.001). And It decreased with the increase of HDL(B = -1.493, p < 0.001). Discussion People with mental disorders who take drugs are prone to obesity. They should regularly check blood indicators and strengthen weight management to reduce the risk of obesity and promote their health.

Hollow NiCoSex (H-NiCoSex) nanospheres encapsulated with carbon shell were prepared via one-step easy solvothermal method followed by the carbon coating process. H-NiCoSex@C has large interior void with the uniform dimension around 350 nm and the thickness of carbon shell around 20–30 nm. Coupling with the large interior void as well as robust protective carbon shell, H-NiCoSex@C can retain the reversible capacity of 805.6 mAh·g−1 after 100 cycles at 200 mA·g−1. In particular, H-NiCoSex@C delivers large reversible capacity of 1532.2 mAh·g−1 upon cycling for 1000 loops at 1000 mA·g−1 with the capacity retention as high as 128.2% upon long period of activation. Even at the high rate of 3000 mA·g−1, its specific capacity still retains up to 659.3 mAh·g−1. The superior lithium storage performances for H-NiCoSex@C profit from its robust hollow core-shell structure as well as enhanced electrical conductivity and ion transport.

A high sensitivity temperature sensor based on the fluorescence intensity ratios, absorption cross section and the reflectivity of light has been investigated in Er3+ doped lead lanthanum zirconate titanate ceramics. The fluorescence intensity ratios (FIR) of two green upconversion emission peaks from different levels (2H11/2 and 4S3/2) to the ground state level were investigated for temperature performance from 313 K to 573 K when the sample was excited by a 980 nm diode laser with different incident light power, in which the sensitivity of the temperature sensor was also described as a function of temperature. Transmission spectra and absorption coefficient were measured in the same temperature range, which presented a good linear relationship with temperature and could be used as a temperature sensor. With the help of the helium-neon laser and power meter, the reflectivity and transmittance of the sample for a 632.8 nm light were measured, which showed a linear relationship with temperature in 3% Er3+: PLZT, and could also be used in temperature sensing applications. This work provided a tool to determine the temperature using different ways (such as FIR, absorption coefficient, reflectivity, transmittance), it can greatly improve the sensitivity and credibility of temperature sensors.

Graphene quantum dots modified nanoporous SiAl (NP-SiAl/GQDs) composite was easily prepared by a facile dealloying followed by the encapsulation of graphene quantum dots. Nanoporous Si with part of Al residues was first fabricated through incomplete corrosion of binary Si 5 Al 95 precursor alloy. GQDs were then used as the building units to enwrap the positively charged NP-SiAl on the basis of the electrostatic assembly. Owing to the combination of graphene quantum dots and embedded Al, NP-SiAl/GQDs displays dramatically boosted lithium storage performances with excellent reversible capacity, outstanding cyclability, as well as high rate capability. Especially, NP-SiAl/GQDs composite exhibits superior cycling stability with large reversible capacity of 1318.7 and 1005.5 mAh g −1 retained after 120 and 150 cycles under the rate of 200 and 1000 mA g −1 , respectively. Moreover, it exhibits high reversible capacity even cycled at 3000 mA g −1 . With the merits of facile preparation and exceptional performances, the as-prepared NP-SiAl/GQDs composite presents great application potential as next-generation anode material in lithium ion batteries.
